The United States, Israel And Saudi Arabia Are Reportedly Pushing A Peace Plan That Would Create A Palestinian State

Many had assumed that President Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel would make a peace agreement between the Palestinians and Israelis less likely, but it actually appears to be accelerating things.  For a long time Trump has referred to a comprehensive peace treaty in the Middle East as “the ultimate deal”, and he seems absolutely determined to get something done.  The key was going to be getting the Saudis on his side, and this appears to have happened.  Last month, Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas made a trip to Riyadh, and what was said during his meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman has sent shockwaves throughout the Middle East.  According to the New York Times, the crown prince pushed for Abbas to accept a plan for peace that is much different than any plan that we have ever seen before… (Read More...)

This Has Been The Worst Year For California Wildfires In The History Of The State

We have never seen a year like this in the history of the state of California.  Yes, there are large wildfires in California every year, but this is one for the record books.  Well over half a million acres have already been burned, and we still have three weeks remaining in 2017.  At this moment, the fires that have absolutely ravaged Ventura County for the past seven days are moving into Santa Barbara County, and at this point no end to the crisis is in sight. Our Dec. 31st Federal Fundraising Deadline Is At The End Of The Month, And We Desperately Need A $30,000 December Miracle

December 31st is the most important deadline that our campaign for Congress has faced so far. All over the country people will be watching to see how much money we raised in the fourth quarter, and a good result could mean lots of support and contributions from Republican organizations all over the country. But a bad result would be disastrous. The key will be to show that we raised more money during our second quarter than we did during our first quarter, and right now we are behind that pace. This time of the year people are so preoccupied with holiday preparations, and so many political campaigns go into “hibernation mode” until after the first of the year. But we cannot afford to do that, because what will happen over the next few weeks could be the deciding factor in whether we win or not next May. 46 Earthquakes Have Shaken California Over The Past 24 Hours

It appears that something unusual is happening along the California coastline.  Over the past 24 hours, California has been hit by 46 earthquakes.  That is approximately twice the normal daily number, and much of the shaking has taken place in the southern part of the state.  In recent weeks I have been writing repeatedly about the alarming seismic activity that we have been seeing along the west coast, and many believe that the potential for a megaquake is significantly higher than normal right now.  Unfortunately, most residents of California are not paying any attention to what is going on at all, and so if there is a major event they will be completely blindsided by it. California Is Being Sued Because So Few Of Their Public School Children Can Read

At one elementary school in California, 96 percent of the students are not proficient in either English or math.  How is that even possible?  Unfortunately, the more the federal government gets involved in education, the worse it seems to get.  At one time the United States had the greatest system of public education on the entire planet, but these days we only seem to make headlines when news comes out about how poorly we are doing.  This has been a hot button issue for me for a long time, but even I was surprised when I learned that the state of California is actually being sued because so few of their public school children can read… (Read More...)

UPDATE: After A Nationwide Uproar, Baby Elijah Is Now Home With Mom And Dad

I love it when a tragic story has a happy ending.  Last week I told you all about a mother and a father here in north Idaho that had their newborn child taken away by government bureaucrats right after it was born.  The mother has cerebral palsy, but the truth is that there was absolutely no reason to take that child away from the parents.  In addition to both parents being there, a grandfather also lives in the home, and so there would be plenty of care for the little one.  Well, the good news is that Baby Elijah was restored to Mom and Dad on Friday.  The battle is not over yet, but for the moment this is a major victory.
