Uh Oh – Food Stamp Money Will Run Out By The End Of January If The Government Shutdown Lasts That Long

According to the Department of Agriculture, if this government shutdown stretches into February there won’t be money for food stamps.  And it certainly looks like this shutdown could last for quite a while, because President Trump is not backing down on his demand for border wall funding, and the Democrats have pledged not to give him a single penny.  So a few weeks from now, approximately 38 million people could be suddenly cut off from the food stamp program.  If that scenario were to unfold, there is no telling what could happen.  After just a few days, government workers are already freaking out about having their paychecks delayed.  If people are getting this restless already, what will things look like when tens of millions of Americans are suddenly cut off from their primary source of food money? Obama Waving - Public DomainDid you know that one of the Americans that was recently killed fighting for ISIS once cleaned planes at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport?  His name was Abdirahmaan Muhumed, and he was a Somali refugee.  Since 1975, more than 3 million refugees have been resettled in cities in the United States, and thanks to the Obama administration an increasing percentage of those refugees are Muslim.  As you will read about below, Obama has even made it possible for refugees that have given only “limited material support” to terrorists to come to America. The Obama administration says that it is still trying to keep full-blown terrorists from entering the country, but it has become exceedingly clear that administration officials aren’t exactly into that whole “border security” thing.  And once refugees arrive in the United States, they are fully eligible for food stamps, Medicaid, housing assistance and a whole host of other welfare programs.  So if you are a jihadist and you want to move to the United States legally, all you have to do is claim to be a “refugee” and you might just find that the red carpet gets rolled out for you. Obamacare Is Going To Be The Biggest Expansion Of The Welfare State In U.S. History

Barack ObamaCan the U.S. government afford to pay for the health care of 38 million more people?  As you will see below, Obamacare is going to be the biggest expansion of the welfare state in U.S. history.  It is being projected that a decade from now 17 million Americans will be receiving Obamacare subsidies and an additional 21 million Americans will have been added to the Medicaid rolls.  At a time when we are already running trillion dollar deficits, is this really something that the government should be taking on?  In addition, it is being projected that bringing millions upon millions of new people into the Medicaid program will also cause enrollment in many other federal welfare programs such as food stamps to surge.  Right now, the percentage of Americans that are financially dependent on the U.S. government is already at an all-time high, and Obamacare is going to cause the level of government dependence to go much, much higher.  But how much weight can the “safety net” actually carry before it breaks entirely? Uh Oh: 47 Million Food Stamp Recipients Are Having Their Benefits Cut Back On November 1st

Crying Girl - Photo by D Sharon Pruitt47.6 million Americans are about to have their food stamp benefits cut, and most of them have absolutely no idea that it is about to happen.  Needless to say, a lot of them are going to be very angry when they discover that they cannot buy as much food for their families anymore.  The reason that this is happening is because a temporary boost to food stamp benefits that was put in during the last recession is expiring.  But most of the people that are having their benefits cut will not understand this.  Most of them will just be very upset that the government is “taking money away” from them.  And considering the “mini-riots” that we witnessed earlier this month when the system that processes food stamp payments went down for a few hours, it is obvious that a lot of food stamp recipients can very easily be pushed over the edge.  So what would happen if we have another “debt ceiling crisis” in Washington D.C. early next year and food stamp benefits are temporarily cut off completely? 12 Signs That The Next Recession In The United States Has Already Begun

Is the U.S. economy in a recession right now?  Has the next recession in the United States already begun?  Unfortunately, there are a lot of economic numbers that are pointing in that direction.  U.S. retail sales have fallen for three months in a row, U.S. manufacturing activity is contracting and there are numerous indications that the labor market is getting weaker.  Of course there are some economists that will argue that we never even left the last recession.  For example, the percentage of working age Americans with jobs fell from above 63 percent in 2007 to under 59 percent during the last recession.  Since the end of the last recession, that number has not gotten back above 59 percent.  In fact, it has been below 59 percent for 34 months in a row.  In addition, we have continued to see poverty and government dependence steadily rise during this “economic recovery”.  Since Barack Obama became president, the number of Americans living in poverty has risen by 6 million and the number of Americans on food stamps has risen by 14 million.  So it would be really hard to argue with anyone that wants to say that the last recession never really ended.  However, the latest economic numbers indicate that things are about to get even worse for the U.S. economy, and that is not good news at all. Things Are So Bad In America That Now Even Sesame Street Muppets Are Poverty-Stricken And Hungry

Big Bird, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Bert and Ernie are about to get a new friend.  This new character comes from a family that is poverty-stricken and that struggles to get enough food.  She is going to teach the other residents of Sesame Street the facts about hunger in America.  Her name is Lily, and she will be appearing on a special one hour primetime special of Sesame Street that will focus on the plight of hungry children all over the nation.  You can see video of this new Sesame Street character right here.  This is yet another sign that things are so bad in America that nobody can really deny the reality of what is happening anymore.  When you have more than one out of every five children living in poverty and one out of every four children on food stamps, it would be an injustice to call it anything less than a national crisis.  Our economy is dying because of our foolishness and our children are paying the price. Millions of Americans have lost their homes, tens of millions of Americans can’t find a decent job and 44 million Americans are on food stamps.  This is causing an increasing number of Americans to ask this question: “Why is the economy so bad?”  There are some Americans that are old enough to remember the Great Depression, but the vast majority of us have never known hard times.  All our lives we were told that America was the greatest economy on the planet and that we would always experience endless prosperity in this nation.  That was easy to believe because even though we had a recession once in a while, things always bounced back and got even better than ever.  But now something seems different.  The current economic downturn began back in 2007 and yet here we are in 2011 and there seems to be no end in sight for this economic crisis.  So what in the world is going on?  Can anyone explain why the economy is so bad?
