The “Department of Homeland Security” is a total farce. So is the “war on terror”. As you will see, the reality of the matter is that the Obama administration could not care less about either one of them. As millions of illegal immigrants pour across our southern border, a lot of really bad people are coming with them. And I am not just talking about thousands upon thousands of hardened criminals, gang members and operatives for Mexican drug cartels. The truth is that hardcore jihadists are making the trek north as well. In fact, an abandoned Islamic prayer rug was found near the border in Arizona just the other day, and it is being reported that Mexican gangs are being paid up to $50,000 a pop to bring “Middle Easterners” through the border. It is an absolute outrage that ordinary Americans are being subjected to an increasingly suffocating police state in the name of “homeland security” when members of Islamic terror organizations can enter this country through the Mexican border pretty much whenever they want. Obama’s War On Coal Is Going To Kill Jobs And Sent Electricty Rates ‘Skyrocketing’
When Barack Obama was running for president in 2008, he stated that under his plan “electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket”. Well, now it looks like he is finally getting around to keeping his promise. New EPA rules that are designed to cripple the coal industry could send electricity rates soaring by up to 40 percent in many rural areas. And even though we have enough coal in the ground to provide hundreds of years of energy at current levels of consumption, Obama’s plan is going to force large numbers of coal plants to completely shut down because they are simply going to become too expensive to operate. When the Obama administration was plotting to overthrow the democratically-elected government of Ukraine, what in the world did they expect to happen in the aftermath? Did they just expect Russia to roll over and play dead as the U.S. and the EU installed a rabidly anti-Russian government in Kiev? Over the past few years, the U.S. government has chosen to foment violent political revolutions all over the globe. We have seen violent revolutions overthrow governments all across the Middle East and Africa, but when the U.S. government decided to do the same thing in Ukraine they went way too far. By making “at least a dozen major adjustments” to Obamacare without congressional approval, Barack Obama is making a mockery of the U.S. Constitution. Throughout human history, political power has always tended to become concentrated in the hands of one man. The Founding Fathers knew this, and they tried very hard to keep that from happening in the United States. A system in which the people rule themselves is a very precious and fragile thing. As humans, we all have the tendency to want more power. That is why a “separation of powers” was such a radical concept. As Bill Federer is constantly pointing out, the Founding Fathers made our federal government inefficient on purpose. They wanted a system of checks and balances that would make it difficult to push through major changes very rapidly. Obama Allows Great Lakes Water To Be Sold To China As Half The U.S. Faces Extreme Water Crisis
What in the world is Barack Obama thinking? At a time when the United States is facing the greatest water crisis that it has ever known, Obama is allowing water from the Great Lakes to be drained, bottled and shipped to China and other countries around the globe. Right now, the Great Lakes hold approximately 21 percent of the total supply of fresh water in the entire world. Considering the fact that global water supplies are becoming extremely tight, that is an invaluable resource. One recent UN report projected that two-thirds of the people in the world will be dealing with “water stress” and 1.8 billion people will be facing “absolute water scarcity” by the year 2025. So why are we allowing foreign corporations such as Nestle to make millions upon millions of dollars pumping water out of the Great Lakes and selling it overseas? By Unilaterally Changing Obamacare, Obama Is Making A Mockery Of The Constitution
Since when can a president change a law all by himself? By unilaterally declaring that certain provisions of Obamacare will not be enforced, Barack Obama is making a mockery of the U.S. Constitution. For those that have not read it, the U.S. Constitution says that the president “shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed“. So when Obama declares that he will not enforce certain provisions of Obamacare for a year, he is directly violating the Constitution. And as Stanford Law School Professor Michael McConnell wrote back in July, the Office of Legal Counsel for the Justice Department “has always insisted that the president has no authority, as one such memo put it in 1990, to ‘refuse to enforce a statute he opposes for policy reasons.’” This is an open and shut case. If the U.S. Congress still had a shred of respect for the Constitution, they would immediately demand that Obama enforce the law as written. If Obama refused, they should immediately impeach him. We are a country that is run by the rule of law, and just because Obama’s new law completely screws up one-sixth of the economy does not mean that he can unilaterally change it. In our system, Congress makes the laws and the president enforces them. If we allow any president to unilaterally change laws whenever he does not like them, then that puts us dangerously close to having a dictator in the White House. (Read More...)
War Is Coming: 10 Reasons Why A Diplomatic Solution To The Syria Crisis Is Extremely Unlikely
Over the past few days, there has been a tremendous wave of optimism that it may be possible for war with Syria to be averted. Unfortunately, it appears that a diplomatic solution to the crisis in Syria is extremely unlikely. Assad is certainly willing to give up his chemical weapons, but he wants the U.S. to accept a bunch of concessions that it will never agree to. And it certainly sounds like the Obama administration has already decided that “diplomacy” is going to fail, and they continue to position military assets for the upcoming conflict with Syria.
