Michigan, Texas, Mississippi, California, Idaho And Washington All Jolted By Significant Earthquakes

North America Map - Public DomainDid you know that Michigan was just hit by the worst earthquake that state has seen in more than 60 years?  In recent days, there has been a series of alarming earthquakes all over the United States.  Of course none of these earthquakes was anything like the massively powerful quake that just crippled the entire nation of Nepal, but many are concerned that these earthquakes could be a sign of what is to come.  All over the planet, seismic activity is increasing.  In fact, I recently wrote about how the number of volcanoes erupting right now is greater than the 20th century’s average for an entire year.  At the same time, the surface of the sun has become very, very quiet.  As you will see in this article, there are scientists that link the two.  It is believed that times of very low solar activity have something to do with a rise in seismic activity, and there is one scientist that is claiming that solar activity is declining faster “than at any time in the last 9300 years” right now.  So what does this mean for the future of our planet? Is The U.S. Food Supply Cursed?

Dinner - Public DomainWhy are so many catastrophes hitting U.S. food production?  This week, we have learned that more than 7 million turkeys and chickens have already been killed as the result of a devastating bird flu outbreak here in the United States.  This particular strain of the bird flu has already spread to the states of Minnesota, Iowa, California, Arkansas, Idaho, Kansas, Missouri, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington and Wisconsin, and scientists are mystified as to why it is moving so rapidly.  But what we do know is that this flu has the potential to kill an entire flock of chickens or turkeys in just 48 hours.  This pandemic is quickly becoming a major national crisis all by itself, but when you combine this with all of the other disasters hitting our food supply, a very troubling picture emerges.  Could it be possible that the U.S. food supply is cursed? Mass Fish Deaths: Millions Have Been Found Dead All Over The World In The Past Month

Mass Fish Deaths - Photo by Mats HagwellMillions of fish are suddenly dying all over the planet.  In fact, there have been dozens of mass fish death events reported in the past month alone.  So why is this happening?  Why are fish dying in unprecedented numbers all over the world?  When more than six tons of fish died in Marina Del Ray over the weekend, it made headlines all over the United States.  But the truth is that what just happened off the southern California coast is just the tip of the iceberg.  In 2014, mass fish die-offs have pretty much become a daily event globally.  Individually, each event could perhaps be dismissed as an anomaly, but as you will see below when they are all put together into one list it truly is rather stunning.  So is there a reason why so many fish are dying?  Is there something that connects these mass fish death events?  Has something about our environment changed?  The following are just a few examples of the mass fish death reports that have been coming in day after day from all over the globe… (Read More...)

An Unprecedented Plague Has Hit Oranges And Another Has Hit Bananas

Florida Orange - Photo by Benjamin D. EshamWhat is causing all of these plagues to hit our food supply?  Have you heard of citrus greening disease?  Probably not, but it has already gotten so bad that it is being projected that Florida’s orange harvest will be the smallest in 30 years.  Have you heard of TR4?  Probably not, but it has become such a nightmare that some analysts believe that it could eventually wipe out the entire global supply of the type of bananas that Americans eat.  In addition, another major plague is killing millions of our pigs, and a crippling drought that never seems to end is absolutely devastating agricultural production in the state of California.   Are we just having bad luck, or is there something else to all of this? The Drought In Brazil Has Gotten So Bad That 142 Cities Are Now Rationing Water

Drought - Photo by Bert KaufmannDid you know that the drought in Brazil is so bad that some neighborhoods are only being allowed to get water once every three days?  At this point, 142 Brazilian cities are rationing water and there does not appear to be much hope that this crippling drought is going to end any time soon.  Unfortunately, most Americans seem to be absolutely clueless about all of this.  In response to my recent article about how the unprecedented drought that is plaguing California right now could affect our food supply, one individual left a comment stating “if Califirnia can’t supply South America will. We got NAFTA.”  Apart from the fact that this person could not even spell “California” correctly, we also see a complete ignorance of what is going on in the rest of the planet.  The truth is that the largest country in South America (Brazil) is also experiencing an absolutely devastating drought at the moment.  They are going to have a very hard time just taking care of their own people for the foreseeable future. The Worst Drought In The History Of California Is Happening Right Now

California DroughtDid you know that 2013 was the driest year ever recorded in the state of California?  And did you know that so far this is the driest January that the state of California has ever experienced?  The worst drought in the history of California is happening right now.  Just check out the current conditions on the U.S. Drought Monitor.  About two-thirds of the state is experiencing “extreme drought” at the moment, and Governor Jerry Brown says that it is “not likely to rain for several weeks“.  Unfortunately for California, the truth is that the weather in the western half of the country is simply returning to historical norms.  Scientists tell us that the 20th century was the wettest century in the western half of the United States in 1000 years, and that extremely dry conditions are normally what we should expect for most areas from the Pacific Ocean to the Mississippi River.  If long-term conditions truly are “returning to normal”, then the state of California could be heading for a water crisis of unprecedented magnitude. Why So Many Wildfires? Half The Country Is Turning Into An Intensely Hot, Bone Dry Burn Zone

WildfireDid you know that 8 of the 9 worst years for wildfires ever recorded have all been since the year 2000?  The western half of the United States just keeps getting hotter and drier, and this is creating ideal conditions for wildfires.  The furious wildfire that took the lives of 19 brave firefighters in Yarnell, Arizona on Sunday is just one example of this.  That wildfire has already consumed more than 200 buildings in the town of Yarnell, and it now spans nearly 9,000 acres even though more than 400 firefighters are battling it.  High winds, record setting heat and bone dry conditions have created a “perfect storm” that firefighters are having a very difficult time contending with.  Unfortunately, scientists tell us that things may continue to get even worse for the western half of the country.  Most of the territory between the Mississippi River and the west coast seems to be steadily getting drier, and that means it is rapidly being transformed into an intensely hot, bone dry burn zone. 15 Signs That The Ring Of Fire Is Waking Up As We Head Into 2013

Ring Of FireWhile most of the world has been focused on other things, the Ring of Fire has been quietly waking up.  Over the past couple of months, there has been a steady string of noteworthy volcanic eruptions and earthquakes that have occurred along the perimeter of the Pacific Ocean.  But because none of them have happened near a highly populated area, we really haven’t heard much about them in the news.  But if activity along the Ring of Fire continues to increase, it is inevitable that a major event will happen near a major city at some point.  When that happens, the entire world will be focused on the Ring of Fire once again.  Most people don’t realize that approximately 90 percent of all earthquakes and approximately 75 percent of all volcanic eruptions occur along the Ring of Fire.  The entire west coast of the United States sits along the Ring of Fire and a massive network of faults runs underneath California, Oregon and Washington.  Fortunately, the west coast has not experienced any devastating seismic events in recent years, but scientists assure us that will change at some point.  So it is important to sit up and take notice when there are reports of increasing activity along the Ring of Fire.
