Obama: The number of refugees from Syria and elsewhere will be increased ‘to 100,000 per year’

ObamaHave you noticed that the United States and Russia are heading in two very different directions?  United behind a very strong leader with an 89.9 percent approval rating, Russia is stunning the world with the efficiency with which it is striking ISIS in Syria.  Of course Vladimir Putin is far from perfect, and there are real questions about what Russia’s true motives in Syria and elsewhere are, but this is a leader and a country that have shown that they can get things done.  In the U.S., on the other hand, we are being led by a weak, ineffective con man in the White House that has just a 45.3 percent approval rating.  Under Obama, the federal government seems to be inept at just about everything, and this is especially true when it comes to foreign policy. Obama Is Using The Threat Of A UN Resolution That Would Divide The Land Of Israel To Blackmail Netanyahu

Barack Obama has sunk to a new low.  He is using the threat of a UN Security Council resolution that would divide the land of Israel and give full UN recognition to a Palestinian state to blackmail Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.  Many had expected France to submit this resolution to the Security Council for a vote in September, but the French made it very clear that they were not going to go ahead unless they had U.S. approval.  So that means that all of the power is in Obama’s hands, and apparently he is not shy about using it as leverage in order to get what he wants.  And apparently one thing that Obama wants is for the Israeli government to keep any new settlement construction from happening in “Palestinian areas” of east Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria. Will The Discovery Of Huge Amounts Of Oil In Israel Lead To War In The Middle East?

Israeli Tank on the Golan HeightsBillions of barrels of oil have been discovered in Israel, and this discovery could essentially make Israel energy independent for many decades to come.  But there is just one problem.  This discovery was made in the Golan Heights.  If you are not familiar with the Golan Heights, it is an area that Israel took from Syria during the Six-Day War of 1967.  The government of Israel considers the Golan Heights to now be part of Israeli territory, but the United Nations does not recognize Israel’s claim.  Instead, the UN still recognizes Syrian sovereignty over that area.  So now that massive amounts of oil have been discovered there, what will this do to tensions in the region?  Could this discovery of oil help set the stage for World War III? Preview Of World War III? Russia Is Putting On A Display Of Firepower That Is Shocking The World

Russian Air Force Sukhoi Su-34 - Photo from Mil.ruThe Russians have unleashed their own version of “shock and awe” in Syria, and the brutal efficiency of their airstrikes against ISIS targets has stunned many observers around the globe.  For more than a year, the Obama administration has claimed that its bombing campaign in Syria has been a “success”, and yet ISIS has continued to grow stronger and gain more territory.  But now just over a few days the tide of the conflict appears to have turned.  The whole world has gotten a chance to see what a global superpower can truly do to a bunch of radical Islamic terrorists when it is focused and determined.  The images that we have seen of hardened ISIS command centers being wiped off the face of the map by Russian bombs are truly impressive.  But why did those targets still exist in the first place?  Was the U.S. military unable to identify them previously?  Or could it be possible that the Obama administration did not want to hit them? A UN Resolution Setting The Parameters For A Palestinian State Is Still In Play

Jerusalem Wire Fence - Public DomainBecause nothing happened in the days immediately following the start of the 70th session of the UN General Assembly on September 15th, most people seem to think that we are not going to see a UN resolution formally recognizing a Palestinian state any time soon.  But according to the Jerusalem Post, such a resolution is still very much in play.  France is still very much interested in introducing such a resolution, but they are not going to do it unless they have the support of the United States.  In other words, the fate of a UN resolution setting the parameters for a Palestinian state is in the hands of Barack Obama.
