National Emergency: Extreme Heat And Drought Fuel Dozens Of Explosive Wildfires In The Western United States

Firefighters all over the western part of the country are talking about an unprecedented wildfire season, and we are only in early July.  It is going to get a lot hotter and a lot drier as we move deeper into the summer, and the wildfires are likely to get a whole lot worse.  At this moment, more than 600,000 acres of land are on fire in America.  From California to Colorado and from Alaska to Arizona, extremely violent wildfires are raging out of control as firefighters battle relentlessly to save homes and lives.  Rain is desperately needed, but right now much of the Southwest is experiencing a historic drought.  In fact, things have gotten so bad that some experts are already comparing this drought to the Dust Bowl conditions of the 1930s.  If very high temperatures and extreme drought persist, that is going to continue to create ideal conditions for more wildfires. This Has Been The Worst Year For California Wildfires In The History Of The State

We have never seen a year like this in the history of the state of California.  Yes, there are large wildfires in California every year, but this is one for the record books.  Well over half a million acres have already been burned, and we still have three weeks remaining in 2017.  At this moment, the fires that have absolutely ravaged Ventura County for the past seven days are moving into Santa Barbara County, and at this point no end to the crisis is in sight. An ‘Unprecedented’ Wildfire Hits California At The Same Time ‘Unprecedented’ Heat Strikes The East Coast

Wildfire In A Forest - Public DomainIt is starting to look more than just a little bit “apocalyptic” out there.  If you follow my work closely, you already know that weather patterns in the United States have been going absolutely crazy and that last year was the worst year for wildfires in all of U.S. history.  Well, this week things have gotten even worse.  A “heat dome” has brought triple digit temperatures to much of the country, and an “unprecedented” wildfire is ripping through the hills north of Los Angeles “like a freight train“.  The so-called Sand Fire started on Friday, and since that time it has been burning 10,000 acres a day.  An acre is approximately the size of a football field, so that means this fire has been burning the equivalent of 10,000 football fields every single day, and it is only “10 percent contained” at this point. Last 10 Months Have Been The Worst Period For Floods AND The Worst Period For Fires In U.S. History

Wildfires 2016 - Public DomainAs you read this article, the state of California is being ravaged by gigantic wildfires that are raging wildly out of control, and West Virginia is dealing with a “500 year flood”.  Since last September, the U.S. has been hit by a series of 11 historic floods.  Never before in American history have we seen so many major floods within such a compressed space of time.  And just as the Shemitah year ended last September, massive wildfires began erupting all over the country.  Thanks to that unprecedented outbreak of large fires, 2015 ended up being the worst year for wildfires in all of U.S. history.  And since 2016 began, things have continued to get worse.  As far as the total number of acres burned is concerned, we are more than a million acres ahead of the pace that was set last year.  So why in the world is all of this happening? The huge wildfire that erupted northwest of Los Angeles on Christmas Day and the devastating tornadoes that ripped through the Dallas area on Saturday can be added to a growing list of freakish disasters that have hit the United States since the month of September. So why in the world is this happening? Many are blaming the worst El Nino pattern that we have seen in at least 15 years. Right now we are witnessing very strange weather all over the world, including an unprecedented heat wave in Australia and the worst flooding in South America in 50 years. And it is true that El Ninos have significantly disrupted weather patterns in the past. But is the current El Nino really to blame for everything that we have been seeing? Why Is The United States Being Hit By So Many Fires, Floods And Earthquakes?

North America - Public DomainWhat do you get when you add together one of the strongest El Ninos ever recorded, the worst year for wildfires in U.S. history, and unprecedented earthquake swarms in diverse places all over the country? Since the end of the summer, America has been hit with a truly unusual series of natural disasters. The state of Oklahoma has already set an all-time record for the number of earthquakes that it has experienced in a year, more acres have been burned by wildfires in the U.S. than we have ever seen before, and a “1,000 year rainfall” caused horrific flooding in South Carolina. Those are just a few examples of what we have been seeing, and many believe that this is just the beginning. So why is this happening? Judgment On America? We Are On Pace For The Worst Year For Wildfires In All Of U.S. History!

Wildfire Lake - Public DomainNever before have so many acres burned in America up to this point in the year.  I just went and checked the latest numbers from the National Interagency Fire Center, and it turns out that we are now on pace for the worst year for wildfires in all of U.S. history.  So far in 2015, wildfires have burned an astounding 9,799,866 acres.  Before this, the worst year for wildfires was in 2006 when a total of 9,506,582 acres had burned through November 13th.  When I last reported on this, we were still behind 2006’s record pace, but now we have surged ahead of it.  Overall, the average for the last 10 years for the number of acres burned in the U.S. through November 13th is 6,464,947, and so we are more than 50 percent ahead of that pace right now.  Clearly, what we have been experiencing is highly unusual.  Could it be possible that this is some form of judgment on America? Swarm Of California Earthquakes Continues A Series Of Unusual Events That Began In Late September

City Skyline - Public DomainFirst it was wildfires, then it was unprecedented flooding, and now it is earthquakes.  In the past two weeks alone, more than 400 earthquakes have shaken San Ramon – a small city that sits approximately 45 miles east of San Francisco.  Never before have so many earthquakes been recorded in that area in such a short span of time.  Standing alone, that earthquake swarm may not mean that much.  But when you stand back and look at all of the unusual events that have been happening since late September, a very disturbing picture begins to emerge.
