Republicans Are About To Pass The Most Important Tax Bill In A Generation

Republican members of Congress are racing to pass the tax reform bill so that they can get home in time for Christmas, and it looks like it is actually going to happen.  The key is the Senate, and at this point it looks like there will be enough votes, but we have seen surprises before.  As I have stated previously, I would have voted for this bill, but nobody should pretend that this fixes our tax system.  The tax code is still going to be more than two million words long, the regulations are still going to be more than seven million words long, and Americans are still going to spend billions of hours and tens of billions of dollars complying with the most complicated tax system on the entire planet. Wake Up! The Numbers Look Incredibly Good For The Democrats Leading Into The 2018 Midterm Elections

If we truly want to take our government back, we are going to have to fight harder than we have ever fought before.  Right now I am seeing so much apathy among Republicans, and that deeply alarms me, because if the 2018 midterm elections were held right now the Democrats would probably take back control of the House and it would be a really close call in the Senate.  Conservatives all over the United States need to wake up immediately, because we only have a handful of months to get this thing turned around.  In 2016, we gave Republicans control of the White House, the Senate and the House of Representatives, and this represented a once in a generation opportunity to fundamentally transform the federal government.  Instead, the Republican-controlled Congress has accomplished next to nothing, and the American people are deeply frustrated. Many are applauding the FCC’s decision to repeal net neutrality, but I believe that this is a huge mistake.  Hopefully the worst case scenarios will not play out, but if they do we could be looking at the end of the Internet as we know it today.  We have all become quite accustomed to going anywhere on the Internet that we would like, but thanks to this decision the big Internet service providers could start to turn the Internet into another version of cable television.  Websites that are not part of your “Internet package” would either load much slower or would not be accessible at all.  Essentially, the big Internet service providers could eventually become “gatekeepers” that would decide what you would and would not be able to see on the Internet.  So if they didn’t like the views of a particular website (such as this one), they could simply block access to it and their subscribers would no longer be able to get to it. You just can’t make this stuff up.  All over America we push our young people to get good grades so that they can get “a college education”, but then once they get through college many of our young people are completely unequipped to deal with the real world.  Personally, I spent eight years at public universities, and I can tell you that the quality of education that our college students are receiving is a complete joke.  Especially on the undergraduate level, almost all testing consists of either true/false, multiple choice or fill in the blank questions.  Students learn very few useful skills at our “institutions of higher learning”, and many of them leave school barely even able to function in society. The United States, Israel And Saudi Arabia Are Reportedly Pushing A Peace Plan That Would Create A Palestinian State

Many had assumed that President Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel would make a peace agreement between the Palestinians and Israelis less likely, but it actually appears to be accelerating things.  For a long time Trump has referred to a comprehensive peace treaty in the Middle East as “the ultimate deal”, and he seems absolutely determined to get something done.  The key was going to be getting the Saudis on his side, and this appears to have happened.  Last month, Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas made a trip to Riyadh, and what was said during his meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman has sent shockwaves throughout the Middle East.  According to the New York Times, the crown prince pushed for Abbas to accept a plan for peace that is much different than any plan that we have ever seen before… (Read More...)
