This weekend, dozens upon dozens of the wealthiest and most powerful people in the world will be gathering behind closed doors at a luxury hotel in Switzerland. All of the participants are sworn to secrecy and swarms of heavily armed security guards are making sure that nobody unauthorized gets in. Decisions will be made at this meeting which will fundamentally change our future. The CEO of Amazon.com will be there, as will the head of Google, one of the co-founders of Facebook and one of the top executives from Microsoft. The president of the EU will be in attendance, along with the president of the World Bank, the president of the European Central Bank, the head of the World Trade Organization and the top commander of NATO. Henry Kissinger and David Rockefeller will be there. Royalty from all over Europe will be attending as well. Past attendees have included several U.S. presidents, Ben Bernanke, Timothy Geithner, Prince Charles, current British Prime Minister David Cameron, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Hillary Clinton, Bill Gates and current Texas governor Rick Perry. You would think that these meetings would be something that the mainstream media would want to cover. But unfortunately, the mainstream media mostly ignores the Bilderberg Group meetings, and if they do cover them they just crack a bunch of jokes about “conspiracy theories” and they do their best to play down the importance of the meetings. Are Ridiculous Airport Security Measures Killing Airline Profits?
Over the past couple of years, the attitude of U.S. consumers towards flying has shifted dramatically. Once upon a time most Americans looked forward to flying, but thanks to rising airfares, horrific fees and ridiculous airport security measures that has changed. In particular, the new airport security scanners that can look underneath our clothing and the new “enhanced pat-downs” have caused many Americans to decide to give up air traveling for good. It is being projected that airline profits are going to be way down in 2011. Could this partially be due to the fact that these ridiculous airport security measures are chasing Americans away from the airports? (Read More...)
30 Actual News Headlines From 2011 That Are Almost Too Bizarre To Believe
Our world has become a really, really bizarre place. The pace of change has become so rapid that nobody can really keep up with all of the important things that are happening right now. Today, more events of significance will happen in a single week than used to happen in an entire month. If we were able to go to sleep right now and wake up in exactly 10 years, we would awaken to a world that would be virtually unrecognizable to us. To get an idea of just how fast the world is changing, just check out this short YouTube video. Keep in mind that neither YouTube or Facebook even existed 10 years ago. Prior to the 20th century, our forefathers could pretty much count on the fact that the world that their children would live in would be pretty much the same world that they lived in. Today, we can’t even really know what next year is going to look like. We live during an unprecedented time in human history. Global events are building toward a crescendo. The pace of life just seems to get faster and faster and faster. I don’t know about you, but for me days just seem to fly by. It is inconceivable that anyone could be “bored” in this day and age. If it was always your desire to live during a time in which you can “make history”, then you certainly got your wish. (Read More...)
America 2011
What kind of place is America in 2011? Sadly, it is one giant sea of conformity. If you traveled across the United States 40 or 50 years ago, you would encounter a vast array of cultures and you would meet a wonderful mix of people. But today America is slowly but surely becoming standardized. It seems like wherever you go you will find a Wal-Mart and a McDonald’s. Thanks to Hollywood and the mass media, people all over the country dress the same and look the same and talk the same. Sure there are various subcultures out there, but even many of those subcultures are virtually the same on one coast as they are on the other. The things that gave flavor to our local communities are dying off in favor of greater conformity and greater profit. Today, most retail stores and most restaurants are corporate owned. Most small businesses that attempt to go up against the Wal-Marts, the Targets, the Burger Kings or the Home Depots of the world have already been stomped out of existence or are in the process of being stomped out of existence. Eventually, if we are not careful, corporate conformity is going to dominate everything from the Atlantic to the Pacific. Some may view this as “progress”, but is this really what the American Dream is supposed to be all about? Is this really the “America” that we want to pass down to future generations? (Read More...)
Are You Addicted To Bad News?
Are you addicted to bad news? Do you have an addiction to “gloom and doom”? Well, if so, then 2011 has been a banner year for you so far. There are plenty of websites out there that do nothing but track the latest doom. Some people actually seem to enjoy it when a new disaster strikes. But we shouldn’t rejoice over bad news. Millions of people are deeply hurting around the world because of all of the horrible things that have happened so far this year. Tens of millions more are going to be deeply suffering soon as our world becomes increasingly unstable. It is important to tell the truth about what is going on in our world because we sure aren’t getting it from the mainstream media, but we should never get to the point where we are totally addicted to the news cycle and are “hungry” for another piece of bad news to report. Our world is falling apart and that is a very sad thing. There are going to be come incredibly sad times to come. But that doesn’t mean we have to be depressed. It is when things are the darkest that the greatest heroes are needed. Instead of cursing the darkness, let us all decide to be lights in the darkness. (Read More...)
31 Interesting Questions
In a world where nobody seems to be telling the truth anymore we are often left with more questions than answers. Instead of just telling us the facts, everything seems to be about getting “the spin” right these days. For example, the Osama Bin Laden “death story” has already been changed by the White House multiple times. Fake Osama Bin Laden death photos (like the one above) have been flying all over the Internet. Massive amounts of radiation continues to pour out of the Fukushima nuclear complex in Japan and yet all the authorities continue to insist that it is nothing to worry about. The global economy is teetering on the brink of disaster and yet it is being called “an economic recovery”. The U.S. government has essentially already reached the debt ceiling and yet now Timothy Geithner is claiming that it won’t be a problem until August. The world is becoming a more bizarre place with each passing week, and the lies just keep on getting bigger and bigger and bigger. (Read More...)
The Royal Wedding, American Idol, Dancing With The Stars And 7 Other Ways That The American People Are Being Distracted From Our Real Problems
Have you caught “royal wedding fever” yet? The union of Prince William and Kate Middleton is already being called “the wedding of the century” and it will almost certainly be the most watched event in the entire world this year. The mainstream media is spending endless hours covering every conceivable angle of this wedding. With all of the hype surrounding this wedding, you would almost be tempted to think that America has now officially adopted British royalty as our own. Worship and adoration of the royal family is at a fever pitch in the United States right now, which is kind of ironic considering the fact that we fought two wars against the tyranny of that monarchy. If only George Washington and the boys could see us now. Sadly, the American people love to be entertained and they are very easily distracted from the very real problems facing this nation. In past years, celebrities such as OJ Simpson, Anna Nicole Smith, Michael Jackson and Britney Spears dominated the news. Today Americans are distracted by the royal wedding, American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga. In our entertainment-addicted society, the time for average Americans to set aside the distractions and focus on real issues never seems to come. (Read More...)
If You Are Against Raising The Debt Ceiling You Are Part Of Al-Qaeda?
Are you against raising the debt ceiling? If so, according to former Bush Treasury Secretary Paul O’Neill you are actually part of al-Qaeda. Yes, seriously. During an interview on Bloomberg TV the other day, O’Neill actually made the following statement: “The people who are threatening not to pass the debt ceiling are our version of al-Qaeda terrorists. Really. They’re really putting our whole society at risk by threatening to round up 50 percent of the members of the Congress, who are looney, who would put our credit at risk.” For a high ranking Bush administration official to equate Tea Party activists with al-Qaeda is extremely frightening. Just remember what the Bush administration did to anyone supposedly associated with al-Qaeda. They shipped them off to Guantanamo Bay and waterboarded them into oblivion. It also shows how out of touch the Bush administration really was with the conservative base of the Republican Party. The Bush administration ran up record setting deficit after record setting deficit and now any conservatives that dare to want some assurances that we are actually going to do something about our rampant debt problem are labeled as “al-Qaeda terrorists”. Of course the Obama administration is essentially doing the exact same thing. The current Treasury Secretary, Timothy Geithner, has been running around frothing at the mouth and declaring that we are going to experience financial armageddon if the debt ceiling is not raised. This whole episode is yet another example that shows what a fraud the false left/right political paradigm in this country really is. (Read More...)
