More Than Half A Million People: America’s Homelessness Crisis Is Rapidly Exploding On Both Coasts

The homelessness crisis in the United States is getting a lot worse, and it is happening at a pace that is absolutely frightening.  Did you realize that more than half a million Americans are homeless right now?  One out of every four homeless Americans actually has a job, but thanks to rapidly rising housing prices they are not able to afford a place to live.  So every night in this country, hundreds of thousands of people are sleeping in shelters, in their vehicles or on the streets.  It is a national crisis that isn’t going away, and during the next economic downturn it is only going to intensify. Islamic Terrorist Shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ Mows Down Pedestrians With His Truck Near The World Trade Center

Terror has just struck New York City once again.  On Tuesday afternoon, a “Middle Eastern man” shouting “Allahu Akbar” used his truck as a weapon in Lower Manhattan near the World Trade Center.  After careening on to a bike path and hitting numerous bikers and pedestrians at high speed, he was finally stopped after his truck rammed into a school bus.  The suspect was shot twice by the police, but according to Fox News he is expected to survive… (Read More...)

The Good Side Of Thanksgiving And The Bad Side Of Thanksgiving

thanksgiving-dinner-photo-by-marcus-quiqmireI have to admit – of all the holidays on our calendar, Thanksgiving is one of my favorites. It is a time to gather with family and friends, and it is a time to give thanks for all the good things that have happened to us this year. And the remarkable acts of generosity that happen during this time of the year remind all of us that there are still people out there that are trying to do the right thing and to be lights in their communities. But of course all is not well in America this Thanksgiving. As I write about so often on The Economic Collapse Blog, poverty is growing, close to 50 million Americans are struggling with hunger, and the number of people sleeping in homeless shelters in New York City just hit an all-time record high. Sadly, even with such great need all around us, Americans continue to be some of the most wasteful people on the entire planet. In fact, one newly released report says that Americans will throw away 200 million pounds of turkey this Thanksgiving alone… (Read More...)

A Spirit Of Violence Rises In America Following The Unveiling Of The ‘Harbinger Of Baal’ In New York

baal-arch-photo-by-jeanie-laboyIs it just a coincidence that we have seen violence erupt all over America since the unveiling of the arch that served as a gateway to the Temple of Baal in New York City on September 19th? First there were the terror attacks in New York, New Jersey and Minnesota, then there were the unprecedented riots in Charlotte, and over the weekend there was a horrific mass shooting near Seattle. All of these events took place within a week after the Arch of Triumph was put up in New York. Baal was an ancient deity that was often associated with violence and bloodshed, and those that erected this arch have no idea what they are messing with. (Read More...)

Why Won’t Obama Call It Terrorism?

obama-delivers-a-statement-public-domainEverybody knows that what just happened in New York City was an act of Islamic terror, so why won’t Barack Obama use those words? 28-year-old Afghan immigrant Ahmad Khan Rahami only had one motivation when he planted those improvised explosive devices. He wanted to use violence to promote the cause of Islam. All over the planet radical Islam is on the rise, and we have seen more than 1000 Islamic terror attacks worldwide so far this year. But an extreme form of political correctness is causing many of our leaders to deny what is happening right in front of their eyes. In fact, Barack Obama refused to use the word terrorism when talking about the attack in New York… (Read More...)

Confirmed: The Arch Of Triumph Is Going Up In New York City On September 19th

The Arch Of Triumph - Palmyra, Syria - Photo by Bernard GagnonDo you remember all of the buzz about the arch from the Temple of Baal that was supposed to go up in Times Square back in April? Well, that project was ultimately canceled, but now it has been resurrected in a new form. In April a reproduction of a different arch, the Arch of Triumph, was erected in Trafalgar Square in London, and now another reproduction of that famous arch will be going up in New York City on September 19th. This particular arch is not the same one that once stood directly in front of the Temple of Baal in Syria. Rather, the Arch of Triumph was constructed at a later date by the Romans, and it served to link the main street of the Colonnade with the Temple. So there is still definitely a connection with the Temple of Baal, but it is not as direct as had originally been envisioned. (Read More...)

Stories Of Despair From The Forgotten People That The U.S. Economy Has Left Behind

Forgotten - Public DomainThere is so much economic despair in our country today, but if you have a good job and if you live in a good neighborhood you might not ever encounter it.  There really are “two Americas” in 2016, and they are getting farther and farther apart with each passing year.  On the one hand, you have lots of people smiling in New York City these days because of the stock market boom, and property values have soared to ridiculous levels in San Francisco because of the tech bubble.  But in between the two coasts there are vast stretches of forgotten people that the U.S. economy has left behind.  In this article I am going to share some of their stories with you.
