A lot of people look at all of the crazy things that are happening in our world today and they respond by getting fearful. But is that what God wants? I would suggest that fear is the exact opposite of how we should be responding to global events as they spiral out of control. All throughout the Bible, God warned people about things that would be coming. He didn’t do this to scare people. God tells us history in advance so that unbelievers will realize that He really is the one true God who created all things and so that believers will have peace in the midst of whatever occurs because they know that God has a plan.
The Bible is absolutely packed with prophecies.
The vast majority of them have already been fulfilled.
With a track record like that, I don’t understand why such a large proportion of the population doesn’t believe the Bible today.
Of course the Bible has a tremendous amount to say about the times that we are living in right now.
I would like to share a few verses from one of my favorite chapters. In Matthew 24, Jesus specifically warned us about what conditions would be like during the end times…
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
There are a couple of things that I would like you to notice in those verses.
First of all, He made it very clear that all of these things must happen.
God knew about all of it in advance, and it is all part of His plan.
Secondly, He commanded us to “be not troubled”.
In other words, He wants us to have peace even as chaos erupts all around us.
God is in control, and there is nothing to worry about as long as you know Jesus Christ.
But for unbelievers, signs of the end times are meant to wake them up and turn their hearts to the God that created them before it is too late.
As you read through the Book of Revelation, there is a lot of “scary” stuff in there.
The good news is that there is a redemptive purpose for every “scary” event.
Every time another prophecy in the Book of Revelation is fulfilled, it will be another opportunity for millions upon millions of people to repent and find eternal life through Jesus Christ.
This is such a dangerous time to be alive, but it is also such an exciting time to be alive.
Matthew 24 tells us to expect war, famine, pestilence and major natural disasters.
Revelation 6 contains the exact same elements.
Are we living at a time of war?
Of course we are.
In fact, I write about war nearly every day.
The war with Russia has now lasted longer than World War 1 did, and the Great Middle East War will be three years old next month.
I was writing about war with Russia and war with Iran years before those conflicts erupted, and so my readers were way ahead of the curve.
At this moment, more than half of the nations on the entire planet are either funding military conflict or they are directly involved in it.
The U.S. always seems to be at the center of whatever is going on, and now it has been confirmed that we have actually put weapons in space…
The U.S. has confirmed in a landmark revelation that the nation has deployed operational weapons in space.
Air Force Secretary Troy Meink became the first U.S. official to publicly acknowledge the orbital defense capability in what is widely being interpreted as a clear message of deterrence to both China and Russia.
“Today, we continue to ensure we remain ready to meet the challenges of evolving threats wherever they exist,” Meink said Monday, Sept. 14, in prepared remarks at the annual Air, Space and Cyber Conference. “This is why the United States now has on-orbit space control weapons capable of defending the joint force against hostile adversary action.”
This is just the beginning.
A lot more war is coming.
Meanwhile, global hunger just continues to grow.
Coming into this year, the UN was telling us that the number of people suffering from acute hunger was at the higher level ever.

Vast numbers of people all over the planet are not going to have enough foot to eat in 2027 and beyond.
We also live at a time of great pestilences.
We have already seen so many eruptions of deadly diseases this decade.
In fact, there is one in central Africa that I am watching very closely right now…
On 15 September, officials said there had been 7,258 confirmed cases and 3,510 confirmed deaths from the virus in DR Congo.
There have also been 1,700 recoveries from Ebola so far, including four nurses whose discharge from hospital was celebrated at a special ceremony.
Ituri province is the epicentre of this outbreak and accounts for the vast majority of confirmed infections.
There is no cure for this version of Ebola, and it has a death rate of nearly 50 percent.
If the number of confirmed deaths keeps doubling at the rate that it has been doubling, we are going to have a big time nightmare on our hands just a few short months from now.
Lastly, I wanted to say a bit about earthquakes.
We have witnessed so many highly destructive quakes all over the planet in 2026, and there will be many more in the years ahead.
Personally, I am particularly concerned about Southern California.
Earlier today, I came across an article about which areas of Los Angeles scientists believe will be most at risk when “the Big One” finally strikes…
Scientists have a new view of the ground under Los Angeles, and it’s a bit shaky.
The 3D model of the Los Angeles basin shows that downtown LA is underpinned by up to 6.2 miles (10 kilometers) of sediment, which will likely amplify shaking from any earthquake that hits the region. That’s not entirely new information, but the underground map is more precise than ever before, and it should help earthquake scientists better understand which areas of the city are most vulnerable.
Later on in that same article, the author discussed the fact that downtown Los Angeles is located in a sedimentary basin which was once underwater…
Los Angeles sits in a sedimentary basin, a low spot where layers of sediment have accumulated for at least 15 million years. At first, the basin was underwater, so the lowest layers of these sediments were oceanic sediments. Later, when tectonic forces brought the basin onto dry land, additional sediment accumulated from the mountains nearby.
I did not know that downtown Los Angeles was underwater at one time.
I found that to be a very, very interesting detail, because I am convinced that large portions of Southern California will be underwater at some point in the future.
To a lot of people, the things that I have discussed in this article will sound like really bad news.
But if you have the proper perspective, the things that I have discussed in this article are actually incredibly good news.
The Book of Revelation tells us that we win in the end, and nobody can ever take that away from us.
