Are Trump’s Lawyers Tanking The Impeachment Trial On Purpose?

Do they secretly want Trump to lose?  To me, that appears to be the best explanation for the utter incompetence that has been displayed by Trump’s lawyers so far.  Yes, they didn’t have that much time to prepare.  But these are very experienced attorneys that have spent decades perfecting their skills in court.  Even with minimal preparation, these veterans should have been able to put up a competent defense.  But instead, we witnessed the sort of a performance that we might expect from Lionel Hutz from the Simpsons.  Something seems really off, and that does not bode well for Trump. Alert: They Are Going To Try To Ban Donald Trump From Running For President For The Rest Of His Life

They were never going to be satisfied with just defeating Donald Trump in one election.  Ultimately, their goal is to personally destroy Donald Trump and the movement that he started so that it will never rise again.  They want to make sure that Trump will not run for president in 2024 or any future election, and they could potentially accomplish that if there is a vote in the U.S. Senate on whether or not Trump should be banned from running for office for the rest of his life.  This has never been done to any other president in our entire history.  Not even Richard Nixon was treated like this.  But the Democrats want to make this happen.  These people are playing for keeps, and they really do intend to strike a death blow to Trump’s political career. How “Dumbed Down” Has America Become? Here Are 30 People That Actually Believe Trump Is No Longer President

I knew that Americans were dumb, but I didn’t think it was this bad.  In the hours after President Trump was impeached by the House of Representatives, thousands of people immediately began wildly celebrating on social media because “Trump is not the president anymore”.  But of course that is not true at all.  Two-thirds of the Senate will have to vote to convict Trump in order to remove him from office, and at this point that seems exceedingly unlikely.  Anyone that has received even the most basic education about the U.S. Constitution should know this, so how is it possible that there are vast hordes of people out there that actually believe that Donald Trump is no longer the president of the United States? Trump Said What??? Here Are The Top 10 Zingers In President Trump’s Historic Letter To Nancy Pelosi

The bitter feud between President Trump and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has just gone to an entirely new level.  On the brink of being impeached, Trump sent an absolutely scathing letter to Pelosi on Tuesday in which he accused her of “declaring open war on American Democracy”, “breaking your allegiance to the Constitution” and “interfering in America’s elections”.  In the letter, Trump said that he wrote it “for the purpose of history and to put my thoughts on a permanent and indelible record”.  Of course Trump knew that he would not be able to affect the ultimate outcome of the impeachment vote, but he wanted future generations of Americans to be able to look back and clearly understand what was being done to him.  This is the culmination of a long crusade by the left to try to take Trump out, but of course if Trump wins again in November 2020 there will be more attempts in the future.  The visceral hatred that they feel toward Trump comes out in everything that they do, and they are never going to stop until they are finally able to get rid of him. Nadler: If Trump Is Not Removed From Office, He “Will Do Everything He Can To Make It Not A Fair Election”

One of the most important Democrats in Congress is warning that President Trump is likely to compromise the integrity of the 2020 election if he is not impeached and removed from office.  Jerry Nadler is the chair of the House Judiciary Committee, and so that makes him an exceedingly powerful man right now.  Articles of impeachment are being drafted at this moment, and they will soon be approved by his committee.  In fact, Nadler told “Meet the Press” on Sunday that it is likely that the final articles of impeachment will be unveiled by his committee “at some point later in the week”… (Read More...)

The Democrats have really messed up this time.  On Thursday, we witnessed the first major congressional test for this impeachment inquiry, and the House of Representatives did approve the formal rules that were being pushed by Nancy Pelosi and her cronies.  But it was a major victory for President Trump, because not a single Republican voted for those rules.  Not only that, a couple of Democrats actually voted with the Republicans.  This was a significant embarrassment for Democratic leadership, and it likely foreshadows how the rest of this process is going to play out.  Yes, the Democrats have the numbers to impeach Trump in the House, but without any Republican defections the effort to remove Trump from office will be completely dead once it gets to the Senate. Trump Could Be Impeached Based On The Testimony Of A Parade Of “Whistleblowers” That Don’t Even Testify In Person

This “impeachment inquiry” is becoming more shady with each passing day.  Nancy Pelosi won’t even take a vote in the House to officially approve this “impeachment inquiry” because she is convinced that such a vote is not needed.  But as White House Counsel Pat Cipollone has aptly noted, the lack of a vote “violates fundamental fairness and constitutionally mandated due process”.  And now we are learning that the original whistleblower is asking if he can “submit testimony in writing instead of appearing in person”, which would likely mean that we may never found out the identify of this individual.  So we could potentially be facing a scenario in which the House of Representatives actually impeaches the president of the United States based on “testimony” from an anonymous source that they never actually get to see face to face.  The U.S. Constitution sets a very high standard for impeaching a president, and it is absolutely absurd that this process is moving forward based on information from someone that does not want to face any sort of public scrutiny and that did not even have firsthand knowledge of Trump’s conversation with the president of Ukraine in the first place. In A New Campaign Ad, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell Is Vowing To Keep Trump From Being Removed From Office

This is great news for President Trump.  In a new campaign ad that is now appearing on Facebook, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is promising voters that he will do all that he can to keep Trump from being removed from office.  Of course McConnell can’t keep the Democrats from impeaching Trump in the House, but once the matter shifts to the Senate for a trial, McConnell is promising that he is going to do all that he can to kill it.  It would take 67 votes in the Senate to remove Trump, and Democrats only have 47 seats, and so it was always going to be challenging for them to get 20 Republicans to turn against Trump.  But now with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell taking such a strong public stand against impeachment, it is going to be almost impossible for the Democrats to achieve their goal.  The following originally comes from The Hill… (Read More...)
