End Of The American Dream

Given enough time, artificial intelligence would completely dominate our society.  AI technology has been growing at an exponential rate, and it can already perform thousands of tasks better than humans can.  Eventually, there would be very few jobs that AI could not do more efficiently than we can.  Just look at all the things that ChatGPT can do right now.  There is no way that we can compete with that.  As AI technology continues to become even more sophisticated, millions upon millions of jobs will be lost, and that will create a giant underclass of people that are simply not needed by society. If farmers and ranchers don’t produce enough food, we don’t eat.  So we should always be very thankful for our hard working farmers and ranchers.  Unfortunately, farms and ranches all over the United States have been hit by a string of disasters in recent months, and as a result food production has taken a turn for the worse.  So does that mean that we should expect that there will soon be shortages of certain items?  Unfortunately, it appears that is likely to be the case.  For example, it is being reported that approximately 90 percent of Georgia’s peach crop for this year has been destroyed… (Read More...)

Our society trains us not to think about the things that really matter.  Instead, we are constantly directed to think about whatever is going to make us happy in the moment, and if we don’t know what that is society certainly has a lot of suggestions for us.  Of course all of the things that bring a bit of temporary happiness can never fill the deep hole of emptiness and pain that most people carry around with them.  Surveys tell us that people have never been more depressed than they are right now, suicide rates have never been higher, and both legal and illegal drugs are being abused at levels that are absolutely unprecedented.  Even though we are literally surrounded by things that are supposed to make us happy, our society has never been unhappier than it is at this moment. The world seems to be gripped by a really bad case of war fever.  National leaders all over the globe are rattling their sabers, and that should deeply alarm all of us.  The last time that there was a “world war”, tens of millions of people died.  This time around, it could be hundreds of millions or even billions of people.  Today, we literally possess the ability to destroy all of humanity.  So a worldwide conflict in which nuclear weapons are used should be avoided at all costs, but unfortunately those that are running things seem absolutely determined to push us toward such a conflict anyway. Our food prices aren’t just going up because our leaders pumped way too much money into the system.  All over the world, crops are failing, and that includes right here in the United States.  Earlier this year, CNN warned that we are in the midst of “the worst food crisis in modern history”, and so we really need this to be an extremely successful year for our farmers.  Unfortunately, that just isn’t happening in much of the country.  In fact, one wheat farmer in Oklahoma says that his farm is experiencing “the most severe drought I’ve ever seen”… (Read More...)
