Only 23 Percent Of Americans Believe That The Federal Government Has The Consent Of The Governed

Have you ever noticed that no matter what political party is in power in America nothing really seems to change that much?  Sure, a lot of the faces change and there are some small shifts in ideology here and there, but more or less the policies of the U.S. government have been remarkably consistent over the last 40 years.  Have you ever wondered why that is?  Well, the truth is that America’s “ruling class” has an absolute stranglehold on both political parties.  You see, the little lie that we were told that “anyone can grow up and be president” simply is not true.  Living the American Dream takes connections.  Without the backing of the “establishment”, you simply are not going to go very far in politics.  In fact, without the “establishment” you aren’t going to go very far in law, the corporate world, the media or in the highest levels of education either.  Sure you might experience some success on the lower levels, but without fully becoming “connected” to the establishment to at least some degree you just are not going to advance to become one of the elite in any of those fields.

For decades, average Americans have felt a sense of growing frustration that their voices were not being heard in the halls of government, but most of them could never really figure out why.  But now more people than ever are waking up and are realizing that the majority of Americans, and anyone who would represent them properly, are being systematically excluded from politics by America’s ruling class.  In fact, a recent Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey has found that just 23% of American voters nationwide believe the federal government today has the consent of the governed.

That is a stunningly low figure.  But millions of Americans are becoming fed up with a system where nothing changes no matter who they vote for.  The Rasmussen poll also found that 68% of U.S. voters believe that the “political class” doesn’t care what most Americans think.

And the cold, hard truth is that they don’t.

That may come as a shock to many of you, but the reality is that the ruling class is taught from a young age that the “highly educated” should be making decisions for the rest of society that foolishly clings to their “religious superstitions and traditional values”.

I personally spent 8 years studying at universities where I saw this philosophy being shoved down the throats of young students day after day after day.

Once upon a time, the institutions of higher learning across the United States had a wide array of ideologies.  But today, universities from coast to coast have become so uniform in the belief systems that they teach that it is absolutely frightening.  The truth is that American universities have become indoctrination centers for the philosophy of America’s ruling class.  You can’t get a “good job” and advance without a college degree, but you can’t get a college degree without receiving years of indoctrination in areas such as environmentalism, globalism, Darwinian evolution, feminism, sexual liberation and radical politics.

Not only that, but America’s ruling class also tightly controls the media.  Have you ever noticed how any candidate that is outside the establishment is branded as “too extreme” by the mainstream media and we are told that “they don’t have a realistic chance”?

The same big media companies control the movies and television shows we watch, the music we listen to and even the video games that we play.  So when our children are done being indoctrinated at school all day long, they come home and receive indoctrination through their entertainment.  In the process, the next generation of America’s ruling class is being molded and shaped to take their places in the system.

In his amazing article for The American Spectator, author Angelo M. Codevilla describes the cohesiveness that all of this indoctrination has achieved for the ruling class….

Today’s ruling class, from Boston to San Diego, was formed by an educational system that exposed them to the same ideas and gave them remarkably uniform guidance, as well as tastes and habits. These amount to a social canon of judgments about good and evil, complete with secular sacred history, sins (against minorities and the environment), and saints. Using the right words and avoiding the wrong ones when referring to such matters — speaking the “in” language — serves as a badge of identity. Regardless of what business or profession they are in, their road up included government channels and government money because, as government has grown, its boundary with the rest of American life has become indistinct. Many began their careers in government and leveraged their way into the private sector. Some, e.g., Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner, never held a non-government job. Hence whether formally in government, out of it, or halfway, America’s ruling class speaks the language and has the tastes, habits, and tools of bureaucrats. It rules uneasily over the majority of Americans not oriented to government.

But doesn’t the ruling class include our best and brightest?

No.

The truth is that grade inflation is so rampant today that almost everyone gets good grades.  But those with “connections” are able to get their children into the top schools.  George W. Bush was not a top student, but he got into Yale.  The vast majority of the rest of us have little to no chance of getting into a school like that.

At schools like Yale, Harvard and Stanford, the future leaders of America’s ruling class are soaked in a radical form of “liberalism” that most Americans would find completely shocking.

If most of you only knew what was going on.  The reality is that our education system is a joke and it is much more about indoctrination than it is about education.

Most Americans could never figure out how our government, our legal system, our education system and our media got so liberal, but when you really analyze the situation it makes perfect sense.

And it also explains why liberals are the most pleased with our current government.  The Rasmussen poll referred to earlier found that 58% of liberal voters believe that the federal government has the consent of the governed, while only 23% of Americans as a whole believe that.

The truth is that in recent years Americans have increasingly lost faith in their government.

Why?

Because our representatives are not listening to us.

The American people were overwhelmingly against the Wall Street bailouts but our “representatives” shoved them down our throats anyway.

The American people were against the “health care reform bill” by a large margin, but Obama and the Democrats charged ahead with it anyway because they “know better” than us.

Every poll shows that the majority of Americans support Arizona’s new immigration law, but the Obama administration doesn’t care.  They are so radically against it that they have taken the state of Arizona to court.

This kind of arrogance by our government officials is making an increasing number of Americans absolutely sick.  Now a large percentage of Americans do not believe that the government will keep even their most basic promises to us.  According to a new poll, six of 10 non-retirees believe that Social Security won’t be able to pay them benefits when they stop working.

For a long time when I told people that I didn’t believe that I would ever see a dime of Social Security money I thought that I was being extreme.

Now it turns out that a solid majority of Americans hold the exact same view.

Fortunately we live at a time when millions and millions of Americans are waking up.  One way that this awakening has manifested is through the Tea Party movement.  It is one of the greatest grass roots political movements that we have seen in American history, and many hope that real change can be brought about by it.

However, as we have already seen, the Tea Party movement is plagued by controversies and infighting and the mainstream media rips it every chance that it gets.

The truth is that it is going to be hard for anyone to take control away from America’s ruling class.  They are simply way too entrenched and are way too powerful.

But perhaps you disagree.  Feel free to leave your opinion in the comments section below….
