The Coronavirus Goes To Washington D.C., And It Is Spreading Fear Like Crazy

New coronavirus cases inside the United States are increasingly being announced late in the evening after the financial markets have closed, and I certainly don’t blame officials for trying to minimize the fear that is spreading across the nation like wildfire.  But I have to say that it has been stunning to sit here and watch the number of confirmed cases in the U.S. go from just above 600 to more than 750 in just a couple of hours.  Initially, quite a few of our national politicians attempted to make light of this crisis, but now that confirmed cases are popping up in Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia, this crisis has suddenly become very real for many of them.  In fact, there is now chatter that Congress could soon be completely closed down for a period of time in order “to protect lawmakers”… (Read More...)

The Democratic establishment has officially shifted into panic mode.  In 2016, they watched a bold political outsider shred a divided field of establishment Republican candidates on his way to winning the White House.  Now they have one and only one shot of denying Donald Trump a second term, and the same thing that happened to the Republicans in 2016 is now happening to them.  So far, Bernie Sanders is trouncing a divided field of establishment Democratic candidates, and that is a huge problem for party leadership for a number of reasons.  For one thing, most top establishment Democrats absolutely detest Sanders.  Secondly, most of them don’t believe that he has a prayer of actually beating Trump in November.  So they are desperate to find a way to deny Sanders the nomination, but with each Sanders victory that is going to become increasingly difficult to do. Instead Of Whining About “Russian Election Interference”, Democrats Should Be Searching For A Winning Nominee

Here we go again.  All of a sudden the mainstream media is full of headlines about how the Russians are trying to help Donald Trump win the 2020 election, and seeds are already being planted that will cause millions upon millions of Americans to doubt the legitimacy of the election if Trump wins again in November.  But ultimately all of the interference coming from outside isn’t going to make much of a difference whatsoever.  Even if the Russians want to encourage Americans to vote for Trump, there are far more foreign governments that would like to see Trump gone.  For example, everyone knows that the Chinese are not pleased with Trump at all, and they will be attempting to influence American citizens to vote for the Democratic nominee as long as the Chinese consider that nominee to be “reasonable”.  But we never hear about foreign influence that helps the Democrats.  In addition, it is a bit hypocritical for us to be complaining about a few foreign social media accounts when the U.S. government has been directly intervening in foreign elections for many decades. Mitt Romney Is The First Senator To Ever Vote To Convict A President From His Own Party

We have seen lots of strange things happen during President Trump’s time in the White House, and Mitt Romney added to that list on Wednesday when he voted to remove Trump from office.  It was the first time in American history that a U.S. Senator has voted to convict a president that belongs to the same political party, and this probably marks the beginning of the end of Romney’s political career.  Amazingly, Romney voted against Trump even though he knew that it would not affect the outcome of the vote.  In fact, Romney knew that he was going to be the only Republican to vote against Trump and he still did it anyway. The Debacle In Iowa Is A Perfect Example Of The Extreme Incompetence That Is Plaguing America

The rest of the world is laughing at us.  After what just took place in Iowa, we certainly do not have any right to lecture other nations about how to run their elections.  It was a dumpster fire of epic proportions, and the entire globe is talking about it.  Apparently the Democrats have decided to run their elections the same way that they run their cities.  The Iowa Democratic Party had just one job to do, and they failed in spectacular fashion.  Collecting voting results and reporting them to the public shouldn’t be complicated, but these days incompetence has become the norm.  From one end of the country to the other it seems like people are competing to see who can be the most incompetent, and our population is becoming more “dumbed down” with each passing day. I knew that Americans were dumb, but I didn’t think it was this bad.  In the hours after President Trump was impeached by the House of Representatives, thousands of people immediately began wildly celebrating on social media because “Trump is not the president anymore”.  But of course that is not true at all.  Two-thirds of the Senate will have to vote to convict Trump in order to remove him from office, and at this point that seems exceedingly unlikely.  Anyone that has received even the most basic education about the U.S. Constitution should know this, so how is it possible that there are vast hordes of people out there that actually believe that Donald Trump is no longer the president of the United States?
