Will The Discovery Of Huge Amounts Of Oil In Israel Lead To War In The Middle East?

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

Israeli Tank on the Golan HeightsBillions of barrels of oil have been discovered in Israel, and this discovery could essentially make Israel energy independent for many decades to come.  But there is just one problem.  This discovery was made in the Golan Heights.  If you are not familiar with the Golan Heights, it is an area that Israel took from Syria during the Six-Day War of 1967.  The government of Israel considers the Golan Heights to now be part of Israeli territory, but the United Nations does not recognize Israel’s claim.  Instead, the UN still recognizes Syrian sovereignty over that area.  So now that massive amounts of oil have been discovered there, what will this do to tensions in the region?  Could this discovery of oil help set the stage for World War III?

When I first read about the discovery of all this oil, I was quite stunned.  Ever since 1948, Israel has had to import virtually all of the oil that it uses, and so this oil in the Golan Heights could be a huge game changer.  The following is an excerpt from an article in an Israeli news source about this discovery…

Three drillings have so far taken place in the southern Golan Heights which have found large reserves of oil. Potential production is dramatic – billions of barrels, which will easily provide all Israel’s oil needs. Israel consumes 270,000 barrels of oil per day.

Although the existence of the oil in the ground is a fact, the critical phase now is to check how easily it can be extracted and whether it involves high production costs. In a period of very low oil prices, extraction will have to be relatively cheap to make exploitation of the field profitable.

Just as Israel’s offshore Mediterranean gas discoveries have created an entire energy industry, so the Golan oil find could also generate a new industry around it.

As I write this, the price of U.S. oil is sitting at $48.13 a barrel, so when you are talking about “billions” of barrels of oil you are talking about a tremendous amount of money.

Do you think that Syria and Israel’s other Arab neighbors are going to enjoy sitting there as Israel pumps “their oil” out of the ground?

Apparently this discovery is highly unusual.  Here is what one scientist told Israeli television about what they found…

“We are talking about a strata which is 350 meters thick and what is important is the thickness and the porosity. On average in the world strata are 20-30 meters thick, so this is ten times as large as that, so we are talking about significant quantities,” geologist Yuval Bartov of Afek Oil and Gas told Israeli television.

Needless to say, this is great news for Israel.

But it is also going to give renewed motivation to those that wish to take the Golan Heights back from the Israelis.  The following comes from a Jewish news source

Syria has claimed the entire Golan since it lost the strategic and water-rich area in the Six-Day War in 1967.

If oil can be extracted, it will be a huge bonanza for Israel and an enormous reason for whoever rules in Syria, or for Hezbollah that is fighting with Assad’s forces and is based in Lebanon, to launch a war on Israel.

And this comes at a time when tensions between the Israelis and the Palestinians have reached a fever pitch.  Israeli security forces and Palestinian protesters have been regularly clashing in the heart of Jerusalem, and Palestinians were even temporarily banned from Jerusalem’s Old City for the first time in decades due to a series of recent stabbings and shootings.

Things have gotten so bad that Benjamin Netanyahu felt that he had to cancel his upcoming visit to Germany just to deal with the crisis.  The following comes from Reuters

Israel’s prime minister canceled a visit to Germany on Wednesday after a spate of attacks that included the stabbing of an Israeli soldier by a suspected Palestinian militant who police said was then shot dead by special forces.

A steady rise in street violence, which Israeli and Palestinian leaders have sought to calm, has been fueled by confrontations around Jerusalem’s al Aqsa mosque complex, Islam’s third holiest shrine which Jews also revere as the vestige of their two ancient temples.

In the third knife attack in Jerusalem in less than a week, a young Palestinian woman stabbed an Israeli on Wednesday near that contested site and was then shot by the injured man.

The international community has become desperate to find a solution to this never ending cycle of conflict and violence.  The call to establish a Palestinian state has become deafening, and most global leaders seem to believe that two states living side by side in peace could finally bring stability to the region.

Many had expected France to introduce a UN Security Council resolution which would give formal recognition to a Palestinian state last month, and there is still a chance that it may be submitted for a vote in the weeks ahead.  France has indicated that it will not go ahead without U.S. approval, and so that means that the fate of the division of the land of Israel lies in the hands of Barack Obama.

So what will he ultimately do?

According to Politico, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid has twice asked Obama to publicly announce that he would veto any such resolution, but Obama never responded…

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid on two different occasions this year went to White House chief of staff Denis McDonough seeking a public commitment from President Barack Obama that he would veto any U.N. resolution calling for an independent Palestinian state.

Both times, Obama did nothing.

And in recent months there have been other signs that Obama is weighing his options

In June, Obama and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power declined to commit to blocking a Palestinian resolution.

Behnd the scenes, Reid — who is Obama’s most steadfast ally on Capitol Hill — first approached McDonough shortly after Earnest’s comments and asked that the president reverse his position.

McDonough said the White House “would look into it,” said a source close to the issue, but took no action.

On the second occasion, Reid, a strong supporter of Israel during his career in the Senate, believed such a declaration by Obama would help assuage nervous Senate Democrats as they weighed whether to back the president on the Iran nuclear deal. Reid was hopeful that he could block the Iran disapproval resolution, but he wanted to be certain he would have the votes in the face of fierce opposition from pro-Israeli groups.

When push comes to shove, I fully expect that Barack Obama will eventually give his full public support to the UN Security Council resolution that France has been working on.

I believe that we will see an internationally-recognized Palestinian state, but I also believe that this will just set the stage for war on a scale that the Middle East has never experienced before.

So do you agree with me?  Please feel free to join the discussion by posting a comment below…

…Pres Obeyme wants to have a big war in that “neck of the woods” , because he is a Moslem through and through…and they see it as their preordained fate.

  • Scalenguy

I bet Nasrallah and Assad are cussing and kicking about every piece of furniture within their proximity at present. I also bet with miraculous speed and efficiency Israel will have oil pumping in no time. The anti-Israeli Arab world won’t be able to hold themselves back from going after Israel, so this being a jubilee year–it makes perfect sense. Phone call earlier: “Hey Bashar, this is Bibi…Oops!”

  • Jim Davis

Now that Israel has all of this oil, will they finally stop leeching from the American taxpayer?

    • Paul F

Not unlike the billions given to muslim countries that call for the death of america, huh. take your antisemitic trash else where troll

      • Joan Camara

Thank you for replying to Jim so…truthfully! Exactly right!

        • SonsofAnarchy5768

You apparently wouldn’t know truth if it kissed your AS*

          • Temporary Citizen

When you finally realize that most of us here know what we’re talking about and everything happening in and around Israel is in prophecy in the Bible and we know what’s going to happen because God said so, I hope you’ll have sense enough to repent and leave all your foolish notions and talk behind.

          • calman62

in revelations when Jesus says”they say they are jews ,but they are not.they worship the synagog of satan and will bow at my feet”
Are these the chosen people who are in Israel ? or Khazars ?

          • Eric

They could be the false “replacement theology” teachers in false Christian theology who teach that the church is the new Israel and that the church has superceeded and inherited all the promises to Israel and that God is finished with them in His plans and purposes. Such as the Roman Catholic and many Reformed “Protestant” (reformed Catholicism) mainstream churches that hate Israel and teach their congregants to do the same. As are any other false usurpers such as British Israel cult which claim to be the “ten lost tribes” etc. It could include Islam as well because they teach that Gods inheritance was passed down through Ishmail, not Isaac. What do they have in common? They all reject Israel.

          • iris

Amen. Where there’s life, there’s hope.

          • whiteaglesoaring

Because of the ancient frauds, another people fraudulently declare themselves the inheritors of the Promised Land, which they now believe is in Palestine instead of the land promised by “covenant” in Yemen to the original “Israelites“ ….according to the stories they adopted as their own.

          • ImTiredOfThis

The flaming liberal all-emotional trolls always have to resort to either vulgar language, or some innuendo…they don’t have a very large vocabulary you see. They were too busy in college (if they ever went to one with any other purpose than to demonstrate) getting high, marching, singing “kumbaya”, hugging each other, and banging on drums…

          • iris

(: They’re good at starting fights, though. All is self realization of their higher self in the essence of peace and light, yeah, right.

      • Jim Davis

        Stop that welfare too!

      • SonsofAnarchy5768

Israel by far gets the most money and still ask for more, you take your antisemitic crap some where else, you people call everything antisemitic and now it has NO effect!

        • Temporary Citizen

I’m running defense today for the intelligent people who have something worthwhile to say. Have you noticed they aren’t responding to you. Go crawl back under your rock

      • iris

Exactly. Can’t the liberals find someone else to hate and blame besides Christians and Jews? There’s a lot of evil in the world to pick from. Christians and Jews never claim to be perfect or sinless and we know how to repent and apologize. Can’t say that for the fomenting folks.

      • Sam

Antisemitic trash? You must be really ignorant. You think the Israelis really like you Christians. To them you’re just “goyim.”

      • Gay Veteran

    • http://www.opensuse.org/en/ Daniel van der Merwede

It is actually the US who benefits from the “aid” given to Israel.

While the US does give 3bn to Israel, all of that is spent in the US along with about 8bn more for military technology so Israel will maintain its edge.

At best, it would be a discount.

But, this spending employs over 55k yanks.

It has been studied and seen that we could refuse the 3bn, spend less than 8bn in Israel, employ only 18k employees to make better items designed for our theatre instead of adapting things made for others.

But the politicians don’t seem to grasp the benefits of refusing the aid.

      • SonsofAnarchy5768

Yeah, it is spent to bribe our elected officials, so it doesn’t benefit the people from which the money came from…go away with this nonsense of how it benefits US!

        • http://www.opensuse.org/en/ Daniel van der Merwede

          Perhaps u r right – who’d notice 55k more jobs lost under Obama :o

or 8bn in profits in the military sector

          • Gay Veteran

so we give $ to Israel ($ which we had to BORROW) which then turns around and buys weapons from the military industrial complex?
why don’t we take those $ and repair/rebuild our rotting infrastructure?

          • http://www.opensuse.org/en/ Daniel van der Merwede

My point is you believe it is 3bn given to us when in actuality it is 8bn given to you.

At best we are getting a discount on military equipment we can better make ourselves.

Many of us want the aid cut off and are pressurising our politicians to do that.

But there is no mathematical way the deal is in (nor has it probably ever been) in Israel’s favour.

It is, in fact, aid given to the US.

Please do cut it off, it will employ 15k Israeli’s, save us billions, and lower my taxes almost 3%.

This will help us economically, militarily, AND politically (as you can no longer use the invalid argument that it is aid to us – when it never has been).

But there is a cost, those 55k us jobs and the loss to your military industry of 5bn in profit.

I’d dare you, but I’m sure the people who need to be dared are our politicians. But each time I hand a cheque over to Bibi – I do let him know a few things.

          • Gay Veteran

instead of WASTING money on NON-productive assets America needs to spend that money on productive assets like ports, railroads, etc.

“…But there is no mathematical way the deal is in (nor has it probably ever been) in Israel’s favour….”

oh? they’re basically getting free military supplies

“…But there is a cost, those 55k us jobs and the loss to your military industry of 5bn in profit…..”

We can replace those 55k jobs with infrastructure jobs.
As for the profits of the military industrial complex, they do not benefit the American people

          • http://www.opensuse.org/en/ Daniel van der Merwede

I’m sorry, but you are just plain bad at maths.

Israel “gets” 3bn yet “spends” 8bn – so the US is getting 5bn. There’s no way around it.

Feel free to cut it off – I could care less if my friends get jobs and my taxes go down.

I already stated it will help us financially, politically, and militarily.

Just do it already. But don’t lie and make it sound like Israel is profiting from this deal which costs us at least 3 industries, thousands of jobs and raises my taxes by 2-3%.

          • Gay Veteran

You don’t get it. Israel still gets $3,000,000,000 of OUR dollars.

That $3,000,000,000 needs to be spent in America repairing OUR infrastructure instead of being wasted on the military industrial complex.

And cutting off aid to Israel will not affect our taxes because we are borrowing the money to give to Israel.

I totally agree with Gerald Celente and Occupy Peace:
            (1) bring the troops home
            (2) seal the borders
            (3) rebuild America
            (4) NO foreign entanglements

          • http://www.opensuse.org/en/ Daniel van der Merwede

it’s still incorrect. your industry the very item you wish to build up gets the 3bn PLUS 5bn non-US dollars.

Do, tell your government to stop it, but please – as a favour – have them stop the aid to our enemies also b/c they do NOT spend extra like we do.

          • Gay Veteran

Hey Einstein, I do NOT want to build up the military industrial complex which is bankrupting this country.
NO more aid to Israel or any other foreign government.

          • http://www.opensuse.org/en/ Daniel van der Merwede

Then do it! With my blessing.

      • iris

        Good info!

      • Gay Veteran

gee, maybe instead we use OUR tax dollars to repair/replace our rotting infrastructure

    • SonsofAnarchy5768

Of course not, they will leech as long as they can…

    • Eric

Yes they are not leaving enough $$$ for the “palestinian” refugee camps that the rich Shieks won’t pay a nickel for or let them into their countries as fellow Mohammedans and Arabs. They also leech $$$ that could go to Planned babybutcherhood or that great body of global government wannabes in the UN to plot the end of the evil USA and evil Israel. Not enough $$$ left for our own “Palestinian” problem from south of the border. The Roman Catholic “Palestinians”.

      • Sam

There are no Mohammedans so get your facts straight. You’re right about the rich Sheikhs [not Shieks] who don’t really help out the Palestinians. They are reprehensible for their actions. However, the problem is that U.S. gives money and weapons to Israel, which then uses it on getting rid of Palestinians. This is a disgrace!

        • Eric

It is Never a disgrace to help supply a friend who is merely trying to survive. As we sent the Brits supplies and arms when Hitler wanted to destroy them and rule the world.
The only disgrace is that you and others still don’t get it that the Palestinians like the Nazis would kill every Jew if they had the power to do so. They were Hitlers war crime partners and on his side in ww2. The history of the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem proves this and only Jew haters can or would deny the facts.

    • Gay Veteran

      nope

As far as I am concerned. Sink the wells, start pumping. Israel can just call the proceeds, war reparations..

A lot these discoveries referred to as “reserves” don’t pan out. Or their estimates are cut. It remains to be seen whether this oil can be extracted im a way that is cost effective. Or, in other words, cheap.

      • K

I agree. Mostly I was speaking to their right to the oil.

  • Spook89

Read Ezekiel 38. It’s all there.

    • Eric

Amen and nothing mere men can do about it either! Love it!

  • jaxon64

Michael…I was in Israel last November for a wedding and stayed an extra 10 days to visit the sites of the Holy Land. We entered the supposed “occupied territories” and they appeared to be just normal people living normally with no repression–felt safer there in the west bank than I do going to downtown DC or Baltimore after dark….
Anyhow, we went north of the Sea of Galilee and Nazareth after leaving Bethlehem ( in “Palestinian” occupied hands) when I looked upon the Golan Heights, I tried imagining that the Syrian army were on these hilltops firing arsenal after arsenal down upon the small Israeli villages below…the fact that somehow against all odds that Israel survived an attack from armies at nearly every side was just miraculous if you’ve seen the topography.
My rambling point is, I was almost struck in my mind by remembrance of the verses in Ezekiel where God puts the “hook in the jaw” of a Russian led coalition and gathers them to “the high places above Israel. Looking at the Golan heights stretched out in front of me- I KNEW that this is where those scriptures referred ( and I claim no amazing spiritual or prophetic gifts–this was just a strange assuredness outside/beyond me).
So now the Russians and their allies of Ezekiel are EXACTLY where they were pre-ordained to be.
Also of note is how the supposed defenders or soft allies of Israel do nothing to intervene but instead simply ask, “art thou there to take spoils?… never could have foreseen the United States doing nothing in a situation where Russia might be attempting to attack or invade Israel—that is until now– with this President and with the demonic, and growing anti-Israel/Jewish sentiments that are once again arising like in 1930’s Europe…..

    • krinks

I knew all of my 51 years that eventually Russia and her Islamic allies would come against Israel to take a spoil. Two problems though.
#1 In 1973 Nixon threatened the Soviet Union with an attack if it came against Israel as planned. America would have to have leadership that abandoned Israel. This was a problem until 2009.
#2 Israel would have to have a spoil to come to take. With an oil/shale discovery problem solved.

Reread Ezekial 38/39 Daniel carefully. After this battle happens ALL of Israel will be burying bodies for 7 months. God will fight this battle and I believe He will ground All of Israel’s mechanized war machines so that they can take no credit. 1/6 of the forces will be left alive to be witness to the events and I am sure the news media will be in shock because Israel was not wiped out, or even touched. The Rapture has to happen before this or it may be almost simultaneous. Prophecy right before our eyes and the libs will still claim The Bible is all fairy tales because they hate The God of Heaven.

So true. We share the good news of Yeshua, in His way and time, God’s Holy Spirit confirms it to a person’s heart, mind and spirit, then they make the choice to receive or reject that gift of faith.

Quoting from pagan sources doesn’t help any and your interpretation of Isaiah is so repulsive I now have a headache.

Simply put, there are hundreds of verses specifically commanding us NOT to worship a Jesus like thing and you bring 2 really misused verses that are to override those commands?

I think it would be best to stop trying to destroy the Jewish people and work on spreading your Jesus’ divinity idea to mussies. Let’s see how they accept it.

I shall continue to be one of the Generals fighting for the army of G-d.

            We shall win.

I shall then sit on the court which will mete out the amount due from each nation that has persecuted us and when you do not make the payments or refuse to pay – we shall forcefully exact payment.

When the ressurection starts, and Jesus’ trial comes up we’ll find he knows nothing about what you (all) have done to pervert his ways. He’ll probably get off with a sin offering and asked to give some speech on TV about how you have done soooo much evil, murder, steeling, etc., to his people and ask you to repent.

It will be up to you to do so.

Jesus Christ and God are One in the Same

            (verses highlighted in bold)

            John 1:1; 14-18
…(1)In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God

…(14)And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (15)John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. (16)And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. (17)For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

(18)No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him..

            ***

            John 8:52-58
…(52)Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death. (53)Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself? (54)Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God: (55)Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying. (56)Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. (57)Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?

Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am….

            ***

            John 10:22-30
…(22)And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter. (23)And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon’s porch. (24)Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

(25)Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me. (26)But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. (27)My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: (28)And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. (4)And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words. Sorry to do this to you, but I am giving you a verse in John that shows that Jesus is somehow subordinate to the Father. Arius who was follower of Origen argued that since Christ was logos he had to have a beginning and therefore could not have been eternal. Whilst Origen an early church father believed that Christ was eternal but not as powerful as the Father. The exact verse that Arius used to base his non-Trinitarian beliefs is posted below. Let me be clear I accept the Trinity. (I also want to say I pray to God the Father also, because I think He is often devalued in the current theology of Evangelical Protestantism. . He was denounced as a heretic by council of Nicea in 325 AD and exiled by Constantine. However, the Synod of Jerusalem in 336 AD restored Arius to the communion with the Church.

The historic Israel, perhaps called it Asir-el, was in western Arabia where there ARE real mountains. The Jewish State of Israel is exactly 1375 miles or about 2244 km off-target from the original Israel.

In his book entitled “The Bible Came from Arabia” published in 1984, Kamal Al Salibi concluded that the events and narratives of the Old Testament did not originate in Palestine as internationally accepted but rather in the province of Asir, in the southwest of Arabia, precisely between Makkah and Yemen. Al-Salibi was astonished at the number of biblical places’ names found in the Asir province. Unlike the blatant inconsistencies between the biblical narratives and the supposedly corresponding places in Palestine, he found a more coherent geographical correlation between the regions holding the same biblical names in Asir and the distances traveled by the prophets, as narrated in the Old Testament’s tales.

Slight correction here. The oil was not discovered in Israel. It was discovered in Syria, in the Golan Heights, which Israel illegally occupies in defiance of United Nations resolution. That incident was sad and an error by Israel. Collateral damage is a beautiful euphemism for the innocent humans killed my military airstrikes. What word shall use to redefine the holocaust so politely . I recall that Germany had to pay reparations for the second world war as well as Japan. Really monetary compensation, How about Libya and Lockerbie? So countries pay compensation all the time. How much money is a human life worth though?. Further, Temporary Citizen the payment of compensation was the least that Israel could do, because without American support you would have had EU Peacekeepers in the area and the establishment of a Palestinian state. Yes it was political move not humanitarian reaction. The west has paid for the crimes of Israel 10 times over. The blockade of Gaza and the invasion of that territory just go to show how the oppressed has become the oppressor. Illegal settlements are popping up left right and centre in the occupied territories and Israel seems quite content to ignore international law and all UN resolutions against why because they can act with impunity whilst they have American support.

        • Eric

What I say is that the USS Liberty friendly fire incident is always dredged up by Jew haters and Anti-Israel folks as a diversion when they are desperate to change the argument they are losing. And no one is saying that Jewish people are perfect and without sin or capable of the hatred you display or are saved apart from their Savior. What the Bible is saying though is that after the time of the Gentiles is over and the church age is over, then the 70th week of Daniel will commence and the remnant of Jews who believe on Jesus in the tribulation will be saved. Remember, most Gentiles die apart from Jesus by their own choice too. But just as God loves the Jew hating gentile sinner who He wants to save, He loves the lost Jewish flesh and blood descendents of Abraham Isaac and Jacob. Whoever dies rejecting Jesus Jew or Gentile is lost. Lost is Lost. We are talking about Gods prophecy and that He put his called out people back in the land He gave to Abraham and His descendants through Isaac and Jacob. Even in unbelief and lost apart from Jesus, and for His own Purpose and Glory. If you have recieved Jesus you love the Jews and Jews in Jesus love Gentiles. Saved is Saved and is only through Jesus, not by being a Jew or a Christian by tradition or membership in men’s organizations or classification. But by the Messiah who came to his own and his own recieved Him not, yet we await His return in Power and Glory. He walked the earth as God the Son who was a real man, a Jew. And also the real God the Son who came from God the Father where He is today.

Imaginary, keep on mocking. God already addresses this….

Psalms 2:1-12 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel. Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Dr. Nur spent three days in Abha observing the movement of the shadow of
what stood from the gnomon of a sundial. By means of this experiment, he
demonstrated beyond the shadow of a doubt that the astronomical event occurring
in Old Testament Jerusalem, as reported in Isaiah 38:7,8 and 2 Kings 20:18-12 and explained by Mr. Anthony Lias in terms of a ‘Jerusalem’ located in
Asir rather in Palestine, is the sort of astronomical event that occurs
regularly in the tropical land of Asir, twice a day, during the period of the
summer solstice. The same event cannot possibly occur at any time of year in a
Jerusalem located in Palestine, well within the temperate zone. From now on,
with the astronomical postulation of Mr. Lias demonstrated by Dr. Nur on the ground
in connection with a hitherto forgotten Jerusalem of Asir, I cannot but endorse
the statement of Dr. Nur that this new vision of Biblical geography must be

Even today’s Israel is not Israel; the geography described in the Torah does not fit the geography of Palestine. It does fit western Arabian province Asir.

There is NO MOUNT Zion in Israel…just a hill. There IS a Mount Si-Yaun in Yemen. Arabs wear kippahs, have arks, share a Semitic language.

“By the end of the last century, new stunning hypothesis emerged amongst theologians and historians advocating that the prevailing common understanding of the Israeli prophets’ geographical homelands and journey routes were radically erroneous. The new hypothesis suggests that Asir province (situated in the southern part of Al-Surat Mountains, stretching alongside the western coastal border of Arabia, bounded between Yemen’s northern borders and the holy city of Makkah) was indeed the actual geographical theater which accommodated most of the Israeli prophets’ birthplaces, revelations, preaching, and burials. Subsequent research work narrowed down the prophets lands to Makkah country situated within the Hijaz and Asir Surat Mountains. This holy city emerged as the real and the only homeland of Abraham, Lot, Sara, Hagar and Ishmael as revealed in this paper. This whole hypothesis stemmed from the inconceivable inconsistencies in the biblical accounts of geographical landscapes traversed by the prophets, besides the lack of any supporting archaeological evidences to date either in Palestine, Syria, Iraq or Egypt. Interestingly enough, all the researchers who have concluded that south west Arabia was the actual homeland of the Israeli prophets have reached their findings through different research and analysis methodologies language.

By your argument, the U.S. is occupying CA, AZ, NM, TX, because it was stolen from Mexico, which Mexico stole from Spain, which Spain stole from the native Americans. Israel won that land as a trophy from Syria when Syria attacked Israel along with other Arab/Muslim countries. If you want Israel to give back the Golan Heights, then the U.S. needs to give back CA, AZ, NM and TX to Mexico. But even that augment is wrong because the Golan Heights is part of Biblical Israel.

        They can have California.

      Peace? Give me a break!

  • leevitowt

Israel planned for a ‘friendly’ Hashemite takeover of Baathist Iraq and Syria, but would settle for a collection of disorganised neighbours. Since Chalabi blew that plan up in their faces, a Shia crescent looks likely, and the worst situation for Israel.

“The important thing is to know the oil is in the rock and that’s what we now know,” Israel business website Globes quotes Yuval Bartov, chief geologist of Afek Oil and Gas as saying. Afek is a subsidiary of the America’s Genie Energy.

    —-

There you have it. It will have to be fracked. Not only is it NOT cheap, it very expensive to extract, it will take vast amounts of water to frack this out and it is unlikely that all of the oil will ever be extracted.

Recall a similar oil discovery was made in California. It was such a sure thing, all that tax revenue from this vast oil discovery was supposed to save the state of California. Turned out to be a no-go and a huge disappointment.

    • Gay Veteran

indeed, where is Israel going to get the necessary water???

      • http://www.mindbodygreen.com Kim

        God?

        • Gay Veteran

like I said, where is Israel to get the necessary water???

Ok ok. A pipeline from the Columbia river? I give up.

  • disqus_q0fJBDaGHm

    Palestine!

    • Mike

Palestine is a name given to the Israel by the Roman Empire as a slap in the face that means Philistine. The quote unquote Palestinians are Jordanian and Egyptian transplants you anti-Semitic morons!

  • marquisdesloth

It was discovered in Syria, you moron, not Israel.

  • marquisdesloth

Slight correction here. The oil was not discovered in Israel. It was discovered in Syria, in the Golan Heights, which Israel illegally occupies in defiance of United Nations resolution. To be accurate, we should say Israel is STEALING enough oil to make it energy independent for many decades to come.

  • BaronGreenBack

I believe the oil was discovered in the Golan Heights which is part of Syria but illegally occupied by Israel.

    • SonsofAnarchy5768

      You would be correct!

      • Mike

No. You are both incorrect. Enough said.

  • lmarkievich

Wow. How did they drill so fast to find these billions of barrels? Just this morning they said it would take time before they really knew how much oil is down there. I am absolutely shocked.

    • http://www.mindbodygreen.com Kim

And it’s tight oil anyway. I doubt that the Palestinians or the Syrians will commence a fracking operation in the Golan Heights. What is more likely is war over water.

  • SonsofAnarchy5768

The oil was NOT found in Israel but in Syria!

    • http://www.mindbodygreen.com Kim

Oil was not found in Syria or Israel. Right now it’s just theoretical, maybe, kinda there. Even if oil is found in Golan, it must be fracked out of the rock, then processed, if it’s usable at all. This creates layers of cost that may render this oil obsolete before it even reaches the light.

    • K

Every habitable piece of land on the planet. Once belonged to someone else. When you start a war, and loose. Sorry, that is supposed to cost you something.

Not in International Law and the UN Charter.

  • Pascal van der Heijden

If somebody would open his or her eyes they would see by the reactions on this site where all the problems lay.

  • Unite2014

I am pretty sure that Israel is occupying this part of Syria in violation of international law and in contravention of UN resolutions. That would make it Syrian Oil!

    • iris

Uh, no. Israel has been attacked first in every war since 1948. By international law, all territories gained in defending themselves are rightfully theirs.

  • matt93312

The vitriol from the Meat Puppets against God and Israel is just amazing. Every time that another milestone in bible prophecy occurs just as it was written, that fiendish choir screams louder and more vigorously than before. It’s like you are staring at a puzzle that is only five pieces away from completion and denying that it is going to look just like the image on the box. That is a level of foolishness and self-hatred that transcends the doubts of an honest skeptic.

Prophecy serves as a comfort to the believer and a warning to the pagan. When Russia climbs the Golan Heights to meet their demise, will you still be in this forum mocking God’s people? Eventually, all the pieces will be in place and your fate will be sealed. Trust Jesus and live.

    • iris

      Indeed!

    • uum44a

Especially when Israel will not be able to fight in the battle and when the attacking forces attack each other and it’s all on TV because the media will be there licking their chops thinking “Good bye Israel” oh what a surprise they have coming the attackers and the media when Israel survives without firing one shot!

  • spirittoo

The Golan Heights is part of Syria and being illegally occupied by the war criminal state of israel. I wonder what would happen if Russia established a no fly zone in that part of Syria as well.

    • G21

God gave to Israel all the land from the Nile to the Euphrates.

Of course, you know better than the Bible, don’t you?

      • ImTiredOfThis

spirittoo is just another liberal atheist troll; check out his name. Remember don’t feed the monkeys; they just like to diss us Christians!

      • spirittoo

Sure do … and Golan Height is an illegal occupation, and a part of Syria. The bible has nothing to do with it other than use as a pretext for stealing land.

      • whiteaglesoaring

According to the findings of Kamal
Salibi, Israel and Canaan were originally names of areas of southwest Arabia.
Salibi discovered the identity of the names of hundreds of villages and localities of the Biblical Judah and Israel in the Yemen, Hejaz, and Tihama regions which have yet to be located in modern Israel and Palestine. His proposal was not acceptable to modern European historians for nationalist and political reasons.

Yet the early Arab writings have also shown that the tribes descended from Ismail and the Levites, Israelites, Ismaelites and Edomites were in fact one and the same. Apparently a portion of the children of Israelites otherwise or simultaneously known as Midianites who settled in the Hejaz and Tihama came to be called the children of Ishmael.

        • Eric

And according to commissioner Gordon, Batman needs you to call right now, Robin!

    • Eric

Then why is Israel pumping the oil, and not Syria? Oh yeah I forgot, they Attacked Israel and LOST The war THEY started. kind of what happened to Hitler and the Brits in America in 1776. Why are we pumping oil in Texas? Oh gee I forgot, we won the war, even though we lost the battle of the Alamo, we won the war. Kind of Like Hitler lost the war before somebattles were still being fought, Satan has lost the war even though he still battles. God has sentenced Satan though He is out on His own recognizance until the lake of fire. Kind of like Jesus rejecters, except they have a chance for repentance and belief until they die which is while God hasn’t just exercised the nuclear option just yet. The coming tribulation is for the real hard heads who take Gods kindness as weakness.

    • Eric

Oh poor baby are you having a hard day because the State of Israel exists? Poor baby….

  • John Noyb

Michael – you brought the mockers out of the woodwork with this one!

  • Eric

Wow, from 1948 on God and the Bible is just coming so real right in front of an unbelieving world. The reason the world hates Israel is that it reminds them that God is in control and that despite science, evolutionary theories and religious inventions to counterfeit the only true God and true Bible, given to us through the Jews, they and the land God brought them back to as prophecy fulfilled is an in your face laugh at the unbeliever who has to deal with the existence of the people they have tried to destroy along with the book they wrote for thousands of years all to no avail. As a believer in the Jew named Jesus who the world ignores as well, I just love that Jerusalem is a stumbling block just as the Bible said! So I take pleasure in the fact that even though I can be dismissed and even destroyed, Israel cannot be but should not be there based on the worlds hatred yet is! So go ahead and prove me wrong by removing Israel as the UN Europe, Islam, and now even Obama and America is trending..Good Luck With That! I LOVE IT!!!

    • iris

      That’s truth.

  • onyx

Would the self righteous please stop using the name calling blanket term “liberals” and demons? Your heart is not Christ- like to speak that way.

    • Eric

You are right in that none is righteous, no not one, and all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and that God alone is righteous, all from the Bible, so there is no such thing as self righteousness. However there is, per the same Book, such a thing as God making a sinner righteous and not holding their sin against him. It is called the Gospel.
Now let’s talk about liberals and demons. Demons are in the Bible. It is not a smorgasbord, you cannot pick good angels and skip the demons. You can not believe in the God in the Bible and skip the Devil. You can not have heaven of the Bible and not Hell. You can’t have the Bible without the Jew. You can’t have Israel without Jews any more than you can have Alaska without Eskimos. And you can’t have someone who does not believe in the Christ of the Bible or know Him understanding or lecturing others on what is Christ like without any knowledge of Christ. And you can’t occupy Eskimo lands and Cherokee land and Apache land and lecture Jews about occupying the land God gave them.

      • onyx

Eric, you are “right” and entilted to your opinion since we live in a democracy. As I said, I think the self-righteuos need to stop name calling “liberal demons “. When they do this, they only prove that they need to look in a mirror.

      • onyx

Eric , you are “right” in that you are entitled to your opinion. As I said before, the self-righteous commentors need to stop name calling (liberal demons) . This only exposes that you need a mirror.

      • iris

great reply! I used to be a liberal because at the time, I thought they really were for the little guy. Maybe it was so a Long time ago, lol, but how things have changed! Even the word liberal once meant, generous.

    ROFL. Try again.

  • Joan Camara

Before this story even broke (this site isn’t the first to report this), I wondered what could make the world come against Israel. And then a few years ago, it hit me. It HAS to be oil! And so we wait, to see whether it’s enough for this prophecy to come true! We will pray for Jerusalem! And for all her people to be safe…in the days ahead.

    • Patrick Van Der Ven

Hate to tell you this, but this story is a fabrication. A way to sell merchandise.

      • Joan Camara

And I have to tell you THIS! You’re an idiot…..why are you even here on this page?

The writer has a talent to ink an inordinate amount of ink, but is not really familiar with the region and the situation. They did not find billions of barrels, the fact is that not one barrel came out of the ground, more rigorous studies have to be made, this entire operation is run by a low budget (a poor) U.S driller, so curb your

enthusiasm, meantime, Israel is not handing back the Golan Heights, and this is not the reason why a war will break out.

    • Patrick Van Der Ven

It never ceases to amaze me how this internet site creates some of the most fabulous stories, and people believe it.

  • Patrick Van Der Ven

Okay this scenario for world war III is preposterous.
First of all a two state solution to the Arab Israeli situation has always been the favoured by all western nations, even the US. Though the behaviour of the US in the United Nations have always seemed at odds with their stated objective. How many roadmaps have hit road-blocks because of the strident support of Israel by the American government. When Israel continues to flout all accepted resolution of the UN security council and international law.. The fact that Israel rides roughshod over UN resolutions is because of the unbridled support of the US and continues to build illegal settlements in the occupied West bank. Much to the chagrin of Europe and the rest of the world. Note this has been a major propaganda point from radical Islamists who see the suffering of the Palestinian people as a way of garnering anti US sentiment amongst the Arab world and fomenting rancour and hatred by the Arabs. I could catalogue the reasons why America is so hated in the Arab and it has plainly simply to do with injustice of how the Palestinian people are treated.
If America complies with international law and backs the formation of a Palestinian state then how could this cause war. It would be the foundation of peace, and would invalidate many of the claims of Islamists against the US. It would decrease terrorist attacks. Further in connexion with my country’s government. We favour a two state solution to the Palestinian -Israel situation, further we favour the ceding of East Jerusalem to the Palestinian State including the Dome of the Rock. Her majesty’s government also favours that Israel recede back to its pre-existing borders of 1967, thus Golan Heights would return to Syria.
The occupation and exploitation of the resources of the Syrian people would further incite violence within the regions. If the US comes to the party there is no reason for war. America would not be prepared to fight another war in the middle east as it was soundly defeated through a prolonged civil war in Iraq. The great feat of this government in the US is that is has been able to look past its political biases that it has hitherto held, and can help build a lasting peace in the Middle East. Israel will not act without American support, that is the crucial point here. They would not dare go to war and use a nuclear solution to the issue without US backing.
    Israel does not

Well you know what? Syria has been a tribalist disaster zone since the fall of the Ottoman Empire at the end of WW I. Read T.E.Lawrence (of Arabia). If there is any where near the amount of oil as speculated the last concern of the Israelis will be global price. They will.pump, refine and stockpile as much as they can as fast as they can. They will tell OPEC and the rest of the producers thanks but no thanks. Before the 1967 war the Syrians used the Golan heights as bot an observation platforn to be able to see deep into Israel snd as an artillary platform to indiscriminately lob shells into northern Israel. The consider it not only annexed territory but a critical security barrier. The chances of them giving them up without a serious fight are something less than nill.

  • Elainee Perkins

I do agree that a great war is coming. I am speaking of the Ezekiel 38 & 39 war, that the GOD of Abraham, Issac and Jacob is going to intervene in. HE will fight for Israel, HIS Chosen Inheritance just as HE did in the days of old.
