Why Are The Chinese Gobbling Up Real Estate And Businesses In Detroit?

Detroit Michigan at Milwaukee Junction looking southwest at Russell Industrial Complex - Photo by no body atollSomething very strange is happening to Detroit.  Once upon a time, it was the center of American manufacturing and it had the highest per capita income in the United States.  But now the city is dying and the Chinese are moving in to pick up the pieces.  Lured by news stories that proclaim that you can buy homes in Detroit for as little as one dollar, Chinese investors are eagerly gobbling up properties.  In some cases, this is happening dozens of properties at a time.  Not only that, according to the New York Times “dozes of companies from China” are investing in businesses and establishing a presence in the Detroit area.  If this continues, will Detroit eventually become a city that is heavily dominated by China?

At this point, not too many others appear interested in saving Detroit.  Right now, there are approximately 78,000 abandoned buildings in Detroit and about one-third of the entire city is either vacant or derelict.  People have been moving out in droves and there are only about 700,000 residents left.

For many Americans, Detroit is about the last place that they would want to live.  But to many Chinese, this sounds like a perfect buying opportunity.  According to a recent Fox News report, real estate agents in Detroit are being overwhelmed with inquiries from China…

Downtown Detroit is home to one of the worst housing markets in the country, as prices of homes have collapsed and foreclosures have soared in the city’s depressed economy.

But some Chinese investors hungry for real estate are hoping Detroit’s losses will be their gain. After Detroit filed for bankruptcy July 18, Motor City property has been a hot topic on China’s social media platform, Weibo, according to a Quartz.com report.

News of the bankruptcy, coupled with a Chinese TV report in March that claimed you could buy two houses in Detroit for the same price as a pair of leather shoes, has piqued investors’ interest.

And these buyers appear to be quite serious.  One buyer reportedly bought 30 properties recently, and other buyers say that they want to purchase even more homes than that…

And it appears to be translating into real interest; Caroline Chen, a real estate broker in Troy, Michigan, says she’s received “tons of calls” from people in mainland China.

“I have people calling and saying, ‘I’m serious—I wanna buy 100, 200 properties,’” she tells Quartz, noting that one of her colleagues recently sold 30 properties to a Chinese buyer. “They say ‘We don’t need to see them. Just pick the good ones.’”

Meanwhile, according to the New York Times, dozens of Chinese companies are moving into the city…

Dozens of companies from China are putting down roots in Detroit, part of the country’s steady push into the American auto industry.

Chinese-owned companies are investing in American businesses and new vehicle technology, selling everything from seat belts to shock absorbers in retail stores, and hiring experienced engineers and designers in an effort to soak up the talent and expertise of domestic automakers and their suppliers.

While starting with batteries and auto parts, the spread of Chinese business is expected to result eventually in the sale of Chinese cars in the United States.

Of course this is not just happening in Detroit.  The truth is that the Chinese are buying up real estate, businesses and natural resources all over the country.

But they seem to have a particular interest in Detroit.

Perhaps someone should tell them that Detroit is not actually a very safe place these days.  The violent crime rate is five times higher than the national average, and the murder rate in Detroit is 11 times higher than it is in New York City.

If you call the police, it takes them an average of 58 minutes to respond.  And sometimes the people that are committing the crimes are actually Detroit police officers.  In fact, one Detroit police officer was involved in robbing a gas station just last week

A Good Samaritan snapped photos of what appeared to be two men impersonating police officers involved in a pistol-whipping and robbery outside a Citgo gas station on Detroit’s east side on July 21.

Once Fox 2 aired those photos, an even more disturbing picture developed.

“Several unidentified police officers were working this particular robbery case, recognized one of the suspects in the photographs as being a member of the Detroit Police Department,” Chief James Craig said Monday.

Now under arrest are two police sergeants, a 47-year-old officer and 20-year veteran of the Detroit Police Department and his 42-year-old buddy from the police academy, who is a former DPD cop and 17-year veteran of the St. Clair Shores Police Department. The later recently received a distinguished service award.

“In fact, they were police officers, just not working on-duty at the time,” Craig said.

Detroit is a dying, bankrupt city.  There does not seem to be much hope of a turnaround for Detroit any time soon.

So why are the Chinese gobbling up so much real estate and so many businesses in Detroit?

That is a very good question.

The Beginning Of The End - The New Novel About The Future Of America By Michael T. Snyder

It’s pretty simple really. If China is buying up old factories then buying up housing for it’s workers probably from China makes perfect sense.

Think about it. They could in effect offload some of the pressure from their slowing economy while buying firesale properties.

  • KYTim89

The fate of Detroit spells a really dark omen for the future of the the United States. A once prosperous civilization with a standard of living and ability to create wealth and innovate new ideas is now in the midst of being bought up by the communist Chinese. This will be the eventual fate of the US if current trends continue. The sad part is that we done it all to ourselves.

One way China could really stick it to the US is if they flooded America with high paying, middles jobs, which is something that is severely lacking in our society today. Now you might ask how is this a bad thing? Well, if they allowed Americans to be dependent on them for survival on an individual economic basis then they might be less inclined to fight against the new Chinese hegemony when it takes possession of its property (the US and its assets).

For example, suppose Greg (fictional person) works at a dead end minimum wage job at Wal-Mart (or some where else). China announces that they will place a new shopping center (or factory) in his small town. Once the construction is complete the workers find that their wages are two or three times that of Wal-Mart. Greg goes to work for “Sino-Mart” and eventually moves into the middle class. Because of this he pays little to no attention to the ambitions of China taking over the US. Had he stayed with Wal-Mart then he would most likely have been laid off due to ever increasing urge to unionize more US companies and deliver more “living” wages via minimum wages hikes.

    Does this story make sense?

    • Gay Veteran

“…Had he stayed with Wal-Mart then he would most likely have been laid off due to ever increasing urge to unionize more US companies and deliver more “living” wages via minimum wages hikes…..”

The Chinese obviously haven’t driven through Detroit or lived there! They will be robbed, attacked, and killed. That $1 house will seem like a poor investment after they meet the locals!

    • Randy Man

Batman…… Not an issue at all – when you own the place you don’t have to worry about the crime issue. It will be taken care of without mercy….. now if you “read between the lines” you should be able to figure out what I mean. These folks don’t have to take over with their military, though they’re more than able and capable, all they have to do is buy it up and establish a solid foot hold and start moving the folks in….. we will work for them – they will become the new middle class at our expense – we will be the aliens in our own country working for them – don’t you get it? It looks good to start with but once an occupying force establishes a foothold and has the control and power they need do nothing more – we work for them or die! OK…. do you understand??!!
Folks, what you fail to understand is that they already own the literal landmass of the United States! Our government owes China so much money that it (we) will never, ever…. I mean ever….. be able to pay it back so what is left?? Our debt is advertised as $16 trillion+ yet the actual true debt that we have is more like $240+ trillion – folks we are dead financially. The land and the natural resources on it and under it ie: oil, gold, silver, platinum, copper, natural gas – you name it and we have it and it’s been pledged to China and others to pay off the debt. Do you folks realize there is more oil under the United States than all the mid-east!! Yet we are prevented from accessing it because of government/environmental bans and regulations – think about it…… got to pay these folks back somehow.
Look folks, WE OWN NOTHING PERIOD!! The United States of America is flat broke – bankrupt! We have a worthless currency (not money btw – currency or better fiat currency) printed by a private bank called the Federal Reserve. The Fed is who prints our currency – the US Dollar yet we really don’t possess it…… the money that the government runs on is borrowed from the Fed – remember they are a private central bank and the United States government does not print money though they are supposed to! There’s a reason the founders opposed a central bank….. do you realize our Constitution states that the only entity that is supposed to be able to print money is the United States government?? Yet when the Federal Reserve Act became law in 1913 they began to issue currency…. that is print money that our government actually borrows from them – we have no money of our own period. Unless you have metals, that is gold, silver, platinum etc you have no hard cash money. Currency and money are two very different things and when the Fed shuts it down it’s over.
Folks we are in a world of hurt and when China (and others) call the note and want their due they are coming not so much for us but for our land and resources – they’ll simply move us off our land take over and this ready-made slave workforce called United States citizens will work to service them. Folks….. judgement has started and the worst has not even happened yet – all I can say is get ready because we’ve been sold a bill of goods and been sold off and China is the primary owner and there’s a line behind them!!

      • Mike

This is the reason why the Chinese government is putting so much pressure on our government to disarm the American citizens. You can’t take over a country when 90 of 100 households have a gun..

      • RealityBetraysUs

The USA will declare bankruptcy before they pay off the trillion dollars they owe China! If they do not like it the USA will tell them what are you going to do about it? WWIII? That is what the world is coming to..

        • http://extropolitca.blogspot.com Mirco Romanato

If the US do not pay up its debts, all governments and people around the world will ask for other form of payments to sell stuff to the US.

          Like gold, silver, cars, whatever.
This would raise prices so fast people would be astonished. Like Weimar.

And remember, a lot of US companies have factories and land and stuff outside the US. It is easy to see the local government to seize them and pay the owners (Apple, etc.) with Treasuries and other US paper assets.

AMD, for example, have a factory in Germany (something like 25 billions US$ value, IIRC). The german government take it and pay AMD with 25 billions of Treasury Bonds and tell them to go to Uncle Sam if they have some complains.
Then, the factory produce CPUs in competitions with AMD and it is owned by some German company.

    • RealityBetraysUs

Yes but if they develope the land like they do other realestate then they will buy up properties and have hundreds of chinese living on property that less than a dozen americans would live on. In other words they have no problem with high density residential living. Whereas most americans would not consider this acceptable. They say in China you can not tell the wealth of the occupants of the house because they all look the same, it is only when you get inside that you can tell the wealthy from the poor. Wealthy may own the whole building, but the poor live in one room.

Detroit is somewhat in the center of the U.S. They could quietly install a military presence and then take over the whole mid-west and east coast. Since Detroit is also just miles from the Canadian border and very close to Toronto, they could easily takeover Canada for its resources. And since Canada has next to nothing of an army compared to the U.S., the Chinese will crush Canada. Then the Chinese will have free resources from Canada and desperate American workers in the U.S. It is all about long-term military conquest. Prove me wrong!

    • robert shockley

Chinese do everything on a ten year plan… they are patient and we are not… I understsnd ur idea but I think they could take over without a shotnbeing fired. Look at what obama does and we just roll over. We are becoming an impotent nation who would rather complain than change it. There is a lot more to this i would say, but I just don’t want to deal with trolls today.

Industrial powers build powerful militaries, not the other way.

          • A.S.

Yes, because it will be foreign military like the Russians or Chinese, on U.S. soil, who will round up Americans and put them into FEMA camps, because the TPTB know most U.S. soldiers would rather defy orders and protect their own families at the expense of being rounded up themselves. And I thought you were a Veteran. Read up on modern day warfare in the days of NWO.

          • Gay Veteran

do have a clue about how many troops it would take to pacify this country??? look at Afghanistan where we, like the Russians, will leave with our tail between our legs.
Look at Iraq, where we had to leave with our tail between our legs.

  • http://extropolitca.blogspot.com Mirco Romanato

If I was a chinese with a gazillion of US$ to invest somewhere outside China, I would consider Detroit a good candidate for long term investment:
Its location is good, near waterways, near Canada, near resources. Land prices (with or without buildings) cost little more than nothing.

I would buy a lot of properties cheap, as much as they are grouped together and I leave them vacant, uninhabitable.
This will push people away, even criminals. If there is no people, there is no crime. The criminals will move to inhabited neighborhoods where they will be able to make a living (in Detroit or elsewhere). If they move in other parts of Detroit, they will cause more people to leave, more jobs to be lost, more real estate to be vacated and sold at a lower price.

When the place is emptied (not completely, just enough), and the city’s government is desperate (not like now, much, much more), they will have their plans approved to build whatever they want, how they want, where they want. And the people they will allow to enter will be who they want.

    • Randy Man

Micro, it goes further than what you’ve said – once they buy it up, move their folks in, start up their businesses and become the majority population then they elect the folks they want to the city government – council/commision, mayor etc. What of the U.S. citizen living there – you work for them on their terms not yours and believe me….. we will be the peasant/slaves working to service them – talk about a stunning concept the to the average american! We will be the third world sweat shop while these folks live the high life at our expense. What utter fools we have been to elect a government that have bent us over…… well, I’ll stop there but you know exactly what I mean.

      • Capucine Altier

Kind of like Americans currently live and the rest of the World on Chines people expense. People are parasites in general. They do it on animals, nature and others. Even their own family. No one wants to work.

  • K

If you wanted to gain a major political foothold inside the U.S., what better place to invest? The city, the state, and the feds, will all be lining up to welcome them. You restore some of the housing, to minimal standards. You reopen a factory or two. Suddenly you are being hailed for saving Detroit. Always remember the Chinese, are a patient people. If it took them fifty years to gain a major political foothold in the U.S. they would do it.

    • jaxon64

and another great thing for the current administration and Wall Street–they can claim economic recovery! Booming home sales numbers, the recession is over !! How else can so many homes and properties be getting purchased if America’s economy is hurting, right?
The media will run photos and articles of a dilapidated $1 home right next to a photo of said home now being renovated ( probably with chinese materials and labor also)…I can see the headline, “Detroit’s Rebirth!” They will laud O’s financial assistance to Detroit and the savvy judge who disallowed the Chapter 9 filing will get herself a Federal appt…nowhere in the article will the truth of the new owners or questions of their motives be mentioned.

      • TomR

The problems with Detroit and foreign trade go back to Regan and earlier, although Regan was the biggest accelerator in ruining the electronics industry. Every party has had a hand in this, with Clinton and Regan being two of the worse.

  • Mike

As an existing Chinese US property investor, I believe those Chinese just naive suckers who thought they got a bargain. When they receive all those tax bills, repair bill, agent bills, accountant bills and tax penalties, they will know how much it really costs bought a one dollar property in Detroit. If they do not pay those bills, their property will be confiscated very quickly. Not a norm at all in China, they will lose everything, back to US government again. You do not own any property or land in US, we are all renters, not believe it? Try not pay those tax bills, and see how long can you hold those properties.

    • Randy Man

Mike, you are so sickenly wrong….. these folks are not naive suckers – WE ARE!!

  • seth datta

The Anglo-American bankers own many Chinese assets including banks (though they will never admit this). George Soros owns over 1 trillion in Chinese assets. As such, these bankers have screwed over the nation and are slowly reducing us to slavery whilst blaming others’ (including the general public) for our woes. F@ck the bankers.

  • Greg Burton

    Some thoughts for your consideration:

Since the 9/11 (inside job/Muslim boogie-man) America’s (Israel/city of London) foreign policy (AFRICOM) has been about disrupting and supplanting Chinese advances in trade through out Africa and the world.

However, at the same time, the banking cartel (The Fed/City of London) sells billions of Treasury bills to China resulting in a huge unsustainable budget deficit, a result of the US military fighting to hold off Chinese advances.

Meanwhile, US-based and other global transnational corporations are out-sourcing US jobs and manufacturing to China that, along with the banking/LIBOR fraud, and corporate bail-outs, have resulted in cuts to the social safety net, destroying the American middle-class. The massive holding os US Treasury’s give China de facto control over US monetary policy, inflation, jobs, foreign debt, and even the US standard of living.

Further, the US military is being slowly reduced, if not destroyed, in the central Asian “graveyard of empires”, and US veterans are being treated like garbage. while replacement parts used in the US military machines are being counterfeited in China. To make matters worse, in the wake of the contrived economic debacle, America is selling off its infrastructure, properties to…China?

Meanwhile, Japan, at the behest of the US, is contesting China and North Korea, and could lead to a nuclear confrontation.

Interestingly, after 12 years of the eternal war-on-terror™, the 9/11 pretext to invade Afghanistan, to steal its resources and re-energize the drug trade, China is now being allowed to extract oil in Afghanistan and Iraq?

Finally, because of the deliberate financial policies of the Federal Reserve, increasing the money supply to the point where it creates hyperinflation, the War on Terror® subsidized by China buying Treasury bills, the dollar is being destroyed and the Yuan is becoming the de facto reserve currency of the world.

Can someone tell me that this does not add up to a plan to destroy America? Destroy its economy and democratic institutions, and subordinate our country to a globalist totalitarian NWO? That the so-called “war on terror”, really the war against the growing global presence of China was never meant to be won, designed as a holding action to weaken America, destroy its democratic institutions, its economy, its people, to get it ready to subordinate it to a NWO run by the banking/drug cartel located in the City of London?

After the dollar collapse the Chinese will view the US as a cheap labor market and start building factories in Detroit to build Chinese goods for distribution within US. Bulky items that are costly to ship from Mainland China- cars, furniture, etc.

  • John

Detroit is relatively central in North America. There are commercial uses for that land that make sense. If the city became a Jack Kemp-style Free Enterprise Zone, those properties could be a great investment. The bankruptcy of the Detroit could be just what is needed to spur political actions.

  • RarefiedSnotress

    They know Kung Fu. ;)
    (yes, now I’m joking)

  • Houtex77

Detroit is only the beginning. When the artificially created housing boom bubbles and it will, people will panic when they realize that they are trapped in overpriced properties that they will never be able to resell for the price that they paid. The next housing downturn will not be a bubble, it will be a mushroom cloud.

    • http://extropolitca.blogspot.com Mirco Romanato

When the retired of Detroit will be forced to stop spending (their devalued US$) because there are no US$ to pay their checks a lot of business will go out of business, reduce jobs and so on.
This will strain the mortgage sector again.
Do you remember the domino scene of “V”.
When all the pieces are in place (by one hand or many), just a little finger can make them all fall.

  • Riggah Mortise

It makes sense to me Chinese would buy because they are very CHEAP people.

The only thing that exist in a Chinese mind is CHEAP. They don’t care what it is, where it is, who it is, as long as it’s CHEAP.

Oh, and they hold for the LOOOOONG TERM. 50 to a 100 years is what these bastards are aiming for.

    • Cato

Indeed. They really don’t care how long it takes, and the way things are going, it shouldn’t take long at all. Then all they have to do is initiate the mass evictions of the freeloaders, and of course I include the city government and unions in this; the latter have upheld unconditionally the continued maintenance on city rolls of a farrier, even though the city of Detroit has no horses to be shod. The last update for the farrier’s job profile was done in 1967.

      Whereas,
      YOU are VERY EXPENSIVE people.

You like EXPENSIVE things and luxurious vacations -so you can post it from your EXPENSIVE gadgets to Instagram.

At the end of the day – your so called “EXPENSIVE lifestyle” from your “EXPENSIVE EMPLOYEE MINDSET” is going to explode on your face because your credit is SOOOO maxed out for the LOOOOOONG TERM even if you wake up from the dead 100 years you still won’t be able to pay for your FAKE EXPENSIVE LIFESTYLE.

BEING CHEAP (or thrifty) IS A VIRTUE.

We live WITHIN our means and SAVE as much as we can.
We are not a people like YOU – who are SO LAZY and COMPLAINS about a lot of things feeling like you are entitled to everything.

And when we BUY CHEAP – it’s because that’s how we do it in BUSINESS.

Oh and just look at where your EXPENSIVENESS brought you —

      BANKCRUPTCY & FOOD STAMPS.

Your fake economy bubble will burst BIG TIME.
And now You are the laughingstock of the world.

  • Robert Johnson

They are either naive investors or they are planning on rebuilding it themselves, bringing in well disciplined, educated workers to start a huge “colony” on the outskirts of Detroit. With enough population in one section, they could create their own foot hold, with their own schools, police, local government. With their discipline and drive they could rapidly create a strong, vibrant local economy and clean, safe gated neighborhoods. However, soon the EOC would come in and sue them, forcing them to hire locals with very poor work habits, Jesse Jackson would march demanding “social justice” and charging racism and then the whole thing would collapse on the Chinese and they would move out like everyone else.

  • mohsensamiei

    Welcome to our new World.

  • Sandbagger

Your previous article on gold and now this one on real estate. What do they both have in common?

Someone once said, “Buy land, they aren’t making any more of it.”

From a purely investment point of view, this is bargain time for real estate in a major city. Buy low and sell high is the name of the game. The Chinese investor knows this and knows what went down will go up eventually and then they are the proud owners of prime city real estate.

They’re thinking long term. If I had plenty of cash, I’d be buying there, too.

  • Slipmatwax

The Chinese are using worthless US securities and debt to buy US land and infrastructure – it’s better than getting printed dollars. That just makes sense. As GM takes jobs and US tax dollars to China, the Chinese buy up the US

  • FrankyFreedom

HEY FREEDOM FIGHTERS! The thing about the Chinese is that – as a GROUP – they are very business savy (especially on the “small business” level AND they are good at moving entire networks/communities into a new area and implementing a relatively functional economy — SURELY much more functional than the post-industrial war zone which is Detroit currently is. Whether or not (from a nationalistic perspective) this is good or bad for America it may be the least of the evils and if the Chinese communities are able to polish things up a bit it is at least better than what is already there. The key will be to ensure that these imiigrants pay FAIR TAXES (instead of TAKING OVER) so that the U.S. government/citizens are able to generate income from this development and (hopefully) direct that income towards productive means. Guess we will need to wait and see how things unfold.

Oh no, I doubt that they will come to Detroit immediately… they are just acquiring cheap property because collectively, they have the ability to build it back and be able to generate large amounts of income from it later on, maybe 10 to 15 years from now… and its only possible for them to do it, because most likely, they need to get rid of the money instead of keeping the money for themselves, because that money that they are using to acquire these properties are ‘black money’.

  • El Pollo de Oro

I have a friend across the river over in Jersey (she’s
originally from Michigan) who has an interesting theory about Detroit. I don’t buy it, but it’s an interesting theory. As she sees it, all the talk about Detroit’s downfall is designed to drive down property values as much as possible so that developers can buy super-cheap, gentrify the hell out of the city and eventually make a killing. If one buys her theory (which I don’t), these dirt-cheap properties will eventually skyrocket in value. Perhaps these Chinese communist/crony capitalists see Detroit as a great long-term investment and think the city will turn around. But I agree with Stephen Colbert instead:

“It turns out RoboCop was an optimistic view of Detroit’s future.”—Stephen Colbert

The Banana Republic of America is now a Third World country, which means that you will have pockets of extreme affluence along with widespread poverty, rot and decay. It’s quite possible that NYC, Seattle, Denver, Boston and other hyper-gentrified places will still prosper by catering to the wealthy minority. But in a Third World country, the nasty places are really nasty. And if any place truly epitomizes the BRA’s radical declne, it’s
    Detroit.

Time to start learning Mandarin. But then Chinese are very hard working and smart enough to avoid Christianity. Plus the women are beautiful, although not quite as beautiful as Japanese.

Havana and Detroit are both now twin cities. M

So, you use the general public’s fear of the government to allow you to sell books containing the ‘truth.’ Books that are designed to inspire more fear and lull people into a bubble of your own disinformation so that they need more books to learn more about why they should be afraid.

You clever son of a bitch, why didn’t I think of this?

They know that the Democrats and RINO Republicans will “bail out” Detroit on our nickel! They’re getting a fixer upper and we will be doing the fixing up!

Economics 101. Limited quantities equals raise in value.
Land is a limited commodity that eventually rises to the limited value a currency has. Thus in good times real estate goes up 4-6% in value per year.
The Chinese are aware of this natural law.
They buy gold for the same reason.
The concept only applies to normal times.
The Chinese are willing to wait for this to happen.
My own idea is that they will bring in immigrants and reopen the factories under their own banners.
    These people will pay taxes.
The Chinese concept is going to be a self-reliant community with their own police to provide security. The local police need not apply.
I suggest they will bring in enough revenue to make it feasible and that they will vote to leave the Detroit City Government and form their own government city offices.
This will be after they become American Citizens under immigration reform.
So we will have a Chinatown in Detroit.
The next step is to produce a Chinese vehicle competitive with GM, Ford, and Chrysler.
I suggest they might put out a vehicle for 5,000 dollars that out competes anything we have. They will also put it out to their own people at a substantial discount at first.
When it all comes together, those ruined properties will be put back together for homes for the Chinese population.
They will then be a major voting block.

Instead of complaining and being racist about the Chinese in Detroit, is it not a better idea to buy the estates in China? Estates in China are very affordable so any one of us Americans can buy it.

Detroit is infested with subhumans. I hope the Chinese will drive them out!

Detroit is strategically located within the US. It is central to the Bakken Oil Fields, has good logistics, a large body of water, on the NAFTA superhighway route plan, and similar in climate to China. Detroit is blighted and US citizens are not paying the taxes. The Chinese come in pay the tax coupons off getting the property for the cost of the back taxes. They rebuild using Chinese and some US labor to get citizenship under the Obama schemes. They now have a base camp for extracting natural resources from the land that collateralized the US debt with access to logistical routes by land, air, and sea. Oh they will sell our natural resources back to us at very high prices. That is how the debt will be repaid. If they cannot do this then troops will cross international borders instead of goods and services.

They should be exempt from buying property in big cities like ny or la…..it’s pushing up our rents and home prices up unnecessarily! Detroit is ok because it’s broke already and it’s proven that not many Americans want to live there! Just stay out of nyc and parts of cali that are already way too overcrowded!
