What Do They Know? Why Are So Many Of The Super Wealthy Preparing Bug Out Locations?

Gulfstream - Photo by Andre WadmanA lot of ultra-rich people are quietly preparing to “bug out” when the time comes.  They are buying survival properties, they are buying farms in far away countries and they are buying deep underground bunkers.  In fact, a prominent insider at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland says that “very powerful people are telling us they’re scared” and he shocked his audience when he revealed that he knows “hedge fund managers all over the world who are buying airstrips and farms in places like New Zealand”.  So what do they know?  Why are so many of the super wealthy suddenly preparing bug out locations?  When the elite of the world start preparing for doomsday, that is a very troubling sign.  And right now the elite appear to be quietly preparing for disaster like never before.

The insider that I mentioned above is named Robert Johnson.  He is the president of the Institute of New Economic Thinking, and what he recently told a packed audience in Davos is making headlines all over the planet

With growing inequality and the civil unrest from Ferguson and the Occupy protests fresh in people’s mind, the world’s super rich are already preparing for the consequences. At a packed session in Davos, former hedge fund director Robert Johnson revealed that worried hedge fund managers were already planning their escapes. “I know hedge fund managers all over the world who are buying airstrips and farms in places like New Zealand because they think they need a getaway,” he said.

But he didn’t stop there.

In a separate interview, Johnson admitted that “very powerful people are telling us they’re scared” and that the elite “see increasing evidence of social instability and violence”.  You can watch video of the entire interview below…

And Johnson is not the only one saying these things.

The following quote comes from the Mirror

His comments were backed up by Stewart Wallis, executive director of the New Economics Foundation, who when asked about the comments told CNBC Africa: “Getaway cars the airstrips in New Zealand and all that sort of thing, so basically a way to get off.  If they can get off, onto another planet, some of them would.”

Of course not all elitists are planning to jet off to the other side of the globe.

Some are planning to go deep underground when things hit the fan.

For example, there is an underground decommissioned missile silo in Kansas that has been transformed into luxury survival condos by a real estate developer.  The following is from a Wall Street Journal article about those condos…

The so-called Survival Condo complex boasts full and half-floor units that cost $1.5 million to $3 million each. The building can accommodate up to 75 people, and buyers include doctors, scientists and entrepreneurs, says developer Larry Hall.

Mr. Hall, who lives in a Denver suburb, bought his first missile-silo site in Kansas in 2008 and completed construction in December 2012. A year later, he says, the development had sold out. Work on the second security compound—the one where Mr. Allen bought a unit—is under way, and Mr. Hall says he is considering additional sites in Texas and elsewhere.

As former nuclear missile sites built under the supervision of the Army Corps of Engineers, the structures were originally designed to withstand a direct hit by a nuclear bomb. At ground level, they can be sealed up by two armored doors weighing 16,000 pounds each. Mr. Hall added sophisticated water and air-treatment facilities, state-of-the-art computer network technology and several alternate power generation capabilities.

Other wealthy individuals are turning their current homes into high tech security fortresses.

Those that are involved in providing these kinds of services have seen business absolutely soar in recent years…

Wealthy families across the country are shelling out millions to protect their loved ones from intruders, natural disasters or the apocalypse as home security goes increasingly sci-fi.

Companies that provide concerned homeowners with futuristic gadgets – and a priceless peace of mind – have revealed the growing demand of costly bunkers, passageways, panic rooms and recognition software.

Chris Pollack – president of Pollack+Partners, a design and construction adviser in Purchase, New York – told Forbes that, while security has always been important for the wealthiest clients, the spending on home security has noticeably grown in the past five years.

And the options available on the market are like something from a Bond film.

For much more on this, please see my previous article entitled “Why Are So Many Wealthy People Building Futuristic High Tech Security Bunkers?

So why are all of these wealthy people so alarmed?

Well, the truth is that they can see what is happening.

They can see that millions of people are falling out of the middle class.  They can see that society is breaking down in thousands of different ways.  They can see that anger and frustration are rising to unprecedented levels.  And they can see that things are likely to boil over once the next major economic crisis strikes.

Even though the economy is still fairly stable for the moment, signs of increasing economic suffering are everywhere.  For example, the Los Angeles Times is reporting that homeless encampments are rapidly spreading throughout the Los Angeles area…

Over the last two years, street encampments have jumped their historic boundaries in downtown Los Angeles, lining freeways and filling underpasses from Echo Park to South Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, a city-county agency, received 767 calls about street encampments in 2014, up 60% from the 479 in 2013.

We live at a time when almost everyone is getting poorer except for the elite.  The top 1 percent now have close to 50 percent of the wealth in the entire world, and each year wealth becomes even more concentrated in their hands.

The elite know that eventually a breaking point is going to come.  Those that are smart don’t want to be around when that happens.

And we got a few clues about what things might look like what that time comes from the recent “snow scare” in New York.  Frightened consumers wiped out supplies of bread, milk and eggs within just a few hours.  People started to take advantage of one another, even the journalists seemed like they were on the verge of panic, and virtually the entire city shut down.

All of this over just a few snowflakes.

So what is going to happen when we have a real crisis?

If the elite are preparing to bug out, it is hard to blame them.

I wouldn’t want to be right in the middle of a volcano when it erupts either.

Life is about to dramatically change, and signs of the coming storm are everywhere.

I hope that you are getting prepared for what is about to hit us while you still can.

You might need to make a correction: “The top 1 percent now have close to 50 percent of the wealth in the entire world.”
Some sites says it’s almost 99% but they could be wrong also.

    • Shamael

10% possess 95% and even more. But if 1% ow more than 50%, this is alarming. They all run to there own perdition anyway. I do not need that much, 3 meals, 3 beers and a bicycle, that’s it. Alll a human needs every day fits in one hand, all you have beyond that shows off.

  • K

I love the survival condos. Especially the ones in old missile silos. The Russians have so many warheads. What makes them think, they detargeted those silos?

    • Thin the herd

We can only hope… Lol. Taking out a bunch of corrupt banksters and other elites in one feel swoop..priceless

      • shots = autism

The type Michael is talking about was on Doomsday Preppers I think. Believe me, the bankers have way better than this unfortunately.

      • Annette Smith

        Yep! Priceless!

    • Annette Smith

So LOVE this comment! This is funny….wouldn’t that be something?

    • Jeb

Actually, there is a silo for sale in New York right now, and they talk about this – many of these places were built in the 50’s and 60’s and were decomissioned by the 70’s and 80’s, and thus, taken off the target lists.

Not only that… but they can pretty much sustain a direct nuclear hit.

The question is… can it sustain TWO nuclear hits?

Cause that’s what I’d do to these bastards!

      • rusty shackleford

You can rest in heavan. There is much work to be done here in this crazy world proclaiming the Love of Christ.
Go ye therefore and teach all the nations, baptizing them in teh name of the father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe whatsoever thing I commanded you, and lo, I am with you always even to the end of the world. Amen.
Christs command to us after his resurrection.

  • El Pollo de Oro

In that interview, Robert Johnson is essentially making a point Gerald Celente has often made: when people lose everything and have nothing to lose, they lose it. And it’s not a pretty sight when they lose it. Some people get that, some don’t. Those who don’t get it are the same corporatists who will outsource jobs to Honduras, then are surprised when they go to Pedro San Sula and find out how it feels to be kidnapped, bound and gagged, locked in a car trunk and beaten senseless with a tire iron by poor, desperate thugs looking to make a quick buck.

The Banana Republic of America (the collapsing empire formerly known as Los Estados Unidos) is heading in that direction. Preppers know that, which is why they’re prepping and why they’re praying. Welcome to Ground Zero in hell.

    • MadAsHellYankee

I just think some of what was said was kinda comical. You know, about how the individual being interviewed claimed that they were worried about the social instability…. THEY created it! They are totally insane.

      • El Pollo de Oro

Yankee: Exactly. The banksters are worried about the torches and pitchforks when they did everything imaginable to create widespread desperation and a torches-and-pitchforks environment. The militarized policías will protect them for now, but that has its limits. One thing I saw in banana republics is that los policías can easily be bribed, bought and sold by well-organized folks in the “informal economy.” Bodyguards can also be paid off. The banksters who have created this hell will find that the flames can get very hot.

        • Donald Wilson

Exactly…also when the SHTF the police will be more concerned about protecting their families and be less concerned for the safety of the scumbag elitist. As the old saying goes “Karma is a Bitch.”

          Good luck one and all…

          Bravo Two Zero out…

    • Rochelle Renee

Sadly for these same rich, they will find out the hard way that there literally is no place for them to hide – in nor out of the US. I don’t wish bad on anyone but they could have made things better for the majority of people of the world. There is no amount of security that will keep out

  • Jobe

Why are the super wealthy (top 1%) bugging out? Because they know that mass arrests for gross criminal activity is on the horizon once the 99% have had enough and take action.

    • juandos

Because they know that mass arrests for gross criminal activity is on the horizon once the 99% have had enough and take action“…

What a loon! A parasitic loon!

    • apeiron

‘Super wealthy 1%’? If you made more than $30,000.00 last year, by worldwide standards, you are the 1%! Also, in my state a household only has to earn about $270,000.00 to make it into the top 1%; Connecticut has the highest threshold at about $650,000.00, not as super wealthy as one might imagine. Also, households move in & out of the top quintile more frequently than any other besides the bottom quintile. In other words, the ‘top 1%’ is mostly new people every few years & most won’t be there long, it’s not at all static. Better check if your not being manipulated into all these greedy calls for redistribution & envy, because the top earning households are not just ‘banksters’, they’re that nice family that owns a few convenience stores, or your Mother’s doctor, a successful contractor or real estate broker. They haven’t always been top earners & most likely won’t be every year. Something to think about before going all bloodthirsty with envy. I’m really getting sick of how well ‘divide & conquer’ is working in America.

  • chris

It’s probably nuclear war that they are really expecting not financial meltdown. The USA seems intent on taking the world to nuclear war against Russia and also China to get it’s own way. The Southern Hemisphere would probably be the best chance of survival if you wanted to survive such an event.

    • Seen2013

New Zealand or Madagascar would be best since China has an military treaty with Venezuela that should be nearing completion by now signed in 2009 incurring Chinese nuclear warheads within Venezuelan borders and supposed to be completed between 2015-20. This doesn’t include Russia’s agreements as well as other Chinese treaties in both South America and Africa.
It is interesting China joined the UN Peacekeeping force to South Sudan when their trading and military partners to Sudan… South Sudan never joined the treaty governing the Nile River’s flow either.

thats ok, we arent dumb, we will just get them later

P.S thanks for posting my comment as it speaks VOLUMES.

  • Ghung

Every time I see an article about these silo bunkers, I think about the classic Don Johnson movie “A Boy And His Dog”. Not sure why.

I noticed you still run the fracking adds. I suppose it pays the bills, but certainly hurts the site’s credibility since your fracking boom is going bust in a pretty big way. Kind of insulting.

  • robin hood

“A wealthy man knows how to protect his wealth so it won’t be taxed…” Then he, Robert Johnson calls for a “much more aggressive tax on inheritance”. It is so obvious when you know these people at Davos are the creditors of Governments.

    • Shamael

Strange attitude when people come with more than 2000 private jets to Davos to discuss climate change.

      • David

        you are right my friend

  • Megalon

Oh,the elites are scared? Too bad. The anti-christ system that they have helped build is going to be their own demise. They can have all that this world has to offer-temporary wealth is nothing in comparison to eternity.

    • Shamael

The anti-Christ? You read to much conspiracy theories I think.

    • rusty shackleford

What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul?

  • Its the Philippines. Last year an unnamed US billionaire brought an Island in Philippines for 2 Billion dollars. The country that would benifit the most when Oil Crashes is Philippines..Google it.

They are building so many condos in Philippines that it has over taken the GDP of China itself last year. The construction boom in Philippines is the highest in the world. It also has the best stock market as every billionaire is investing there.

    • Shamael

right so, and I live there too

  • They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumbling block of their iniquity. ~ Ezekiel 7:19 (AKJV)

  • Bob

Excellent comment Robert! I’ve said the same thing to people and they looked at me as if I were a luny.

  • dawith

There is apparently big American hush hush activities in Swaziland. Like state of the art buildings like 12 story high with 6 stories above and 6 below. Some friends did some contract work there. but nobody knows what is going on there.

  • terro9000

But you don’t say much about the idea that this is all by design.

  • Jeb

Better dig pretty dip into the ground, you SOB’s.

  • Leo News

Just thinking how much truth is, in this proverb…You reap what you sow!!!

  • Guest 2050

I don’t blame the super wealthy for choosing a bug out place to hide incase society melts down. New Zealand is the best location in the World to migrate to in this event. New Zealand is sparsely populated, far away from everywhere especially from areas where society is already breaking down such as in the middle east and north africa, there’s plenty of fresh water and farmland for food, lots of natural resources, a high percentage of renewable energy reducing dependency on importing energy from unstable regions, surrounded by water making it easier to defend and more difficult to get to for desperate people, a stable and peaceful political and economic system and a moderate climate in which to live.

nothing that a few nukes couldn’t wipe out.

    • Shamael

you have never been there as it seems, it’s infested with Muslims.

  • Anthony

What takes the wealthy years to build they will lose in hours once things go bad. Ive yet to see a survival bunker that couldn’t be breached with a little well placed C-4. All these preppers do is create caches of food, weapons, and supplies for those of us much better prepared to take it from them.

  • zero

rotchild has military bases in the artic and or the antartic

  • Just think how much in the way of increasingly-scarce raw resources that would remain on a per-person basis if a quarter million wealthy individuals managed to decamp underground in nuclear-proof bunkers for at least several generations while the other 8 billion get roasted right off the surface of our only planet?

  • El Pollo de Oro

Oui, oui! Vive le Quatorze Juillet!

Madame Therese Lefarge would have had a field day with these modern-day Evrémondes known as banksters. Can’t you just picture Madame Lefarge knitting her little heart out while banksters get a taste of Madeoiselle Guilotine, one after another?

  • Richard Sievert

There will be no escape from judgment not in space or under the ocean, not thirty feet under solid granite. The mental prison they have made created with fear has made the whole country dangeriouse. And breeding here is no longer a comfort but a evil social nightmare for everyone, Dr Bob.

James 5:1-6 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten. Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. Behold, the hire of the laborers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of Sabbath. Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter. Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.

The rich are not the only ones facing the judgment; everyone of us that has not repented of our evil and turned wholly back to God are as well. Romans 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. This is what I am working to perfect…2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Colossians 1:20-23 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister.

My hope is in the Lord and not in man; therefore, I hope and pray to hear these words no matter the circumstances…Matthew 25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

I would that everyone that is not filled with the baptism of the Holy Ghost is filled to experience and know the love of God that passes all understanding. It is the loving relationship with God through his spirit that is going to sustain one no matter what happens. Jesus will never leave us of forsake us but will be with us until the end. He didn’t give his children the spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind.
