Trump’s First War? ‘All Options Are On The Table’ As The U.S. And North Korea Prepare For The Second Korean War

Nuclear War Explosion - Public DomainThis may be the closest that we have been to war with North Korea since the original Korean War ended in 1953. The North Koreans are feverishly working to develop intercontinental ballistic missiles that could strike the U.S. mainland, and meanwhile Donald Trump has not moved from his position that North Korea will simply not be allowed to have ICBMs. If North Korea does not blink, it means that we are literally counting down the days until we go to war. Unfortunately, North Korean leaders appear to literally be insane and they have shown absolutely no signs of backing off. In 2016, North Korea tested two nuclear bombs and test-fired 24 missiles, and so far this year they have test-fired five ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan.

During a joint press conference with the South Korean Foreign Minister on Friday, U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson boldly declared that “all options are on the table” when it comes to North Korea…

US military action against North Korea is an “option on the table,” Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has stated, adding that Washington’s “strategic patience” with the isolated country has ended.

“Let me be very clear. The policy of strategic patience has ended. We are exploring a new range of diplomatic, security and economic measures. All options are on the table,” Tillerson told reporters during a joint news conference with South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se on Friday.

In addition, Tillerson specifically declined to rule out a preemptive strike against the regime.

Needless to say, the ultra-paranoid leadership in Pyongyang was totally freaked out by what Tillerson had to say. The following comes from the Washington Post

Soon after Tillerson’s remarks, in a sign of mounting tensions, the North Korean Embassy held an extraordinary news conference in Beijing to blame the potential for nuclear war on the United States while vowing that its homegrown nuclear testing program will continue in self-defense.

North Korea has amassed a sizable nuclear stockpile and appears at the brink of being able to strike the U.S. mainland and American allies in Asia.

What has brought this crisis to a breaking point is the fact that North Korea has continued to work on developing an ICBM that could deliver a nuclear payload to the United States.

Donald Trump has promised to stop North Korea from doing that before it ever happens

Just before he took office in January, Trump tweeted: “It won’t happen!” when Kim said North Korea was close to testing an ICBM.

I believe that Trump means what he says.

So now Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un are locked in a very dangerous game of chicken. Both of them are known to be extremely strong-willed, tempermental, and unwilling to back down when threatened.

But if neither of them is willing to back down now, it could potentially spark a major war

Making matters worse, this year we have Kim Jong Un on one side: A young, relatively inexperienced and unpredictable leader prone to aggression who could be facing internal turmoil (one explanation for killing his brother).

On the other, we now have President Trump. In such a high-stakes standoff, if we’re not careful, these two leaders could prove to be a volatile — and deadly — mix.

In short, what we have now is a regional tinderbox ready to be lit by a small spark that could lead to an exchange of fire and subsequently another war.

And actually the truth is that the conflict has already started. It is widely known that the U.S. has already been conducting cyberattacks against North Korea’s nuclear program, but if those cyberattacks end up not being enough the Trump administration will order a preemptive military strike.

In recent days, the U.S. military has deployed a 100,000-ton Nimitz-class aircraft carrier to the region. The USS Carl Vinson is carrying more than 40 F-18s, and it is being escorted by a number of very powerful destroyers and cruisers.

And it is also being reported that SEAL Team 6 is being deployed to South Korea in order “to practice incapacitating North Korean leadership in the case of conflict”. The following comes from Zero Hedge

On March 1, the WSJ reported that the options contemplated by the White House in response to recent North Korean acts, include “the possibility of both military force and regime change to counter the country’s nuclear-weapons threat.” The review came es amid recent events have strained regional stability including last month’s launch by North Korea of a ballistic missile into the Sea of Japan, and the assassination of the estranged half brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Malaysia.

And, according to a report in Yonhap, said “regime change” may come far sooner than expected: the South Korean website writes that U.S. special operations forces, including the unit that killed Osama Bin Laden, will take part in joint military drills in South Korea “to practice incapacitating North Korean leadership in the case of conflict”, a military official said Monday.

The U.S. Navy’s Special Warfare Development Group, better known as the SEAL Team 6, will arrive in South Korea for joint military drills and take part in an exercise simulating a precision North Korean incurion and “the removal of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un”, according to the Ministry of National Defense Monday.

But regime change in North Korea would not be easy, and unless the U.S. was willing to use nuclear weapons in a first strike the North Koreans would almost certainly be able to strike back very hard.

North Korea has the fourth largest army in the entire world, and it is being reported that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has personally ordered his entire military to go into “combat mode” in anticipation of a conflict with the United States…

It’s been at least 24 hours since any further sabers were rattled between China, US, South Korea, and North Korea (oh and Japan), but it according to DailyNK.com, Kim Jong Un has ordered the entire North Korean army into “combat mode” to tighten security and consolidate sentiment in response to military drills conducted by South Korea and the US, which began in early March.

A source in South Pyongan Province told Daily NK that following the order from Kim Jong Un, every last soldier– even if away on business, on leave, off-base for training, or even those with a recent death in the family–were ordered back to their units. The authorities have ordered the military police in each region to summon all soldiers back to their bases.

North Korea has overwhelming military superiority over South Korea, and unless the U.S. was willing to use nukes, any U.S. strike would almost certainly provoke a North Korean invasion of South Korea. The following description of what that might look like comes from the Daily Mail

North Korea, most rogue of rogue nations, has struck. The nuclear explosion, similar in size to that which levelled Hiroshima, signalled the start of a blitzkrieg-style ground invasion intended to swiftly overwhelm its richer, more advanced neighbour.

A second atomic warhead, inbound on a crude Rodong rocket, has been successfully intercepted by America’s THAAD (Terminal High-Altitude Area Defence) anti-ballistic missile system. But Seoul’s torment is only beginning as hundreds of North Korean heavy guns rain down shells on the capital, many containing Sarin nerve gas.

The city, bunched up against the North-South border, is hopelessly vulnerable to a mass sneak attack of the kind now taking place, as hundreds of thousands of North Korean troops, and thousands of tanks, pour out of innumerable underground bunkers built within miles of the Demilitarized Zone between the two countries.

Unless the U.S. is willing to nuke North Korea into oblivion (and this would almost certainly not happen), the scenario detailed above is very likely to actually happen someday.

And once North Korea invades, the United States will be forced to come to South Korea’s aid and the Second Korean War will have begun.

We are moving into a time when war will become much more common, and at some point World War III will erupt.

If we do go to war with North Korea, Trump will get the blame, but the truth is that Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton also deserve much of the blame for allowing things to get to this point.

It is absolutely unthinkable that we would allow the North Koreans to develop ICBMs that could deliver nuclear payloads to U.S. cities.

But it is almost as unthinkable for us to go to war with North Korea.

Both possibilities are absolutely horrific, and so let us hope that cooler heads will prevail and that Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will be able to work things out.

The victim in this case is Red China.
Both China and Russia will experience radioactive fallout if such a war begins and all trade will stop.
Is that really what China wants to happen?
Does anyone want to stop trade with China?
    We lose also.
Everything you see in Walmart, Dollar Tree, and many others is imported from China. That basically means everything goes up in price on an average of 500%.
So who can afford to live if that happens?
Our entire standard of living will go down the toilet.
The only real solution is Red China and the United States and even possibly Japan have to put a stop to North Korea’s weapons program and they have to do it now.
The real insanity here is the continued support of the North Korean people towards this man.
But then maybe we will be forced to learn how to produce those items somewhere else and equally cheap.
If that happens, China will be forced to go to war, simply because they no longer will have a way to feed their people.
The day China cannot feed its huge population is the day World War III starts and it will not be pretty.
There was a time when numbers mattered. That time with nuclear weapons is long past. The time when machine guns were used is also past.
When a total above 3 billion people die because of the insanity of one very poor leader in North Korea then it is shame on all of us.
The real losers in this need to bring North Korea to the table. Otherwise everyone loses.

    • First America need to apologise for bombing North Koreans in the 50’s, Then apologise to South Korea for killion 1000s in Jeju Island when they were protesting against puppet regime installed by the Americans.

You really do not have a clue on what really happened during Korean War Nor does Michael. People are completely brainwashed.

      —- Google north-korea-and-the-united-states-will-the-real-aggressor-please-stand-down

What most people in America do not know –and which is particularly relevant when assessing the “threats” of the DPRK to World peace– is that North Korea lost thirty percent of its population as a result of US led bombings in the 1950s. US military sources confirm that 20 percent of North Korea’s population was killed off over a three period of intensive bombings:

“After destroying North Korea’s 78 cities and thousands of her villages, and killing countless numbers of her civilians, [General] LeMay remarked,
“Over a period of three years or so we killed off – what – twenty percent of the population.” It is now believed that the population north of the imposed 38th Parallel lost nearly a third its population of 8 – 9 million people during the 37-month long “hot” war, 1950 – 1953, perhaps an unprecedented percentage of mortality suffered by one nation due to the belligerance of another.” (quoted in Richard Rhodes, “The General and World War III,” The New Yorker, June 19, 1995, p. 53.)

America will not apologize to any foreign nation. after all these years since we nuked the Japanese people they still have yet to get any kind of Apology.

        • Why apologize to Japan? If the nukes were not dropped my grandpa might have gone over there to fight and then I might not exist along with many other Americans.
It could’ve been a long bloody war.

        • Ray S.

Actually all throughout Obama’s Presidency he went through somewhat of an “apology tour” where he visited and apologized for America in Vietnam, Hiroshima, France, Turkey, even apologizing for the “War on terror”.

      • Lee Tompkins

They would have done much better if they would have not invaded the South . Also , there were more killed in ground fighting than from bombing . The war was over with NATO troops at the border of China . That is when China came in . I am sorry that they felt the need to do that . Things could have been over before them sending millions of troops into Korea . Blame them if you want to blame someone . Stop reading about what happened there and go live there for a year or more and learn how the people remember those year’s and the one’s since 1954 .

  • First of all…Nuclear Weapons are a HOAX. I have lived in a nuclear power station for over 30 years. Uranium Oxide is Not as radioactive as they tell you. Youtube Galen Winsor…He has more than a decade of experience building Nuclear Reactors in America.

He literally licks Uranium in one of his videos.

Galen Winsor is a nuclear physicist of renown who worked at, and helped design, nuclear power plants in Hanford, WA; Oak Ridge, TN; Morris, IL, San Jose, CA; Wimington, NJ. Among his positions of expertise he was in charge of measuring and controlling the nuclear fuel inventory and storage.

Galen Winsor has traveled and lectured all over America, spoken on national talk radio, and made several videos exposing the misunderstood issues of nuclear radiation. He shows that fear of radiation has been exaggerated to scare people … so a few powerful people can maintain total control of the world’s most valuable power resource.

    —————-

In the name of WMD, America is invading countries after countries. Do not be part of the scam called Nuclear Weapons..THEY DO NOT EXIST..Its a gigantic con…Hiroshima, Nagasaki are most developed cities in just 10 years after they were nuked and we were told, once nuked radiation remains for millions of years. lol

    • Nukes are a hoax? What drug on pharma death clock are you on?

America is invading countries after countries because the “Federal Reserve” (bankers) control America.

  • David

we need to send Dennis Rodman back to North Korea. we Could make him an ambassador to Talk some sense into Kim Flung Dung.

  • If America wants to win WW3 we should’ve focused on math and science in the public schools, reduce brainless activities like sports and drama class, get the IQ-draining fluoride out of the water, RO the water to get other mind-numbing contaminants out, get junk food out of the schools (lowers IQ),

Instead all I see from high schools is sports, sports, sports. No wonder the kids are so dumb and Russia is years ahead of us.

In a scenario like that, and unless we’re prepared to use nuclear weapons, my guess is that North Korea would likely prevail this time around. The North Koreans would seize Seoul quickly, and probably capture most of the country in the process. At that point, we would just be faced with a dilemma of an almost certain defeat, or reluctantly accept the new reality of a unified Korea.

    • Lee Tompkins

That sounds just like what happened the first time . Remember Task Force Smith and the time they bought . Once those hundred’s of thousand’s of troops and equipment were staged things changed very fast . It might happen that way again . Hopefully , cool heads will prevail on all sides of this .

A minor technical correction, but the U.S. is still in a technical state of war with North Korea. We have a cease fire in place with NK. The original war has never been resolved. One thing is for certain, the U.S. cannot permit NK to develop miniaturized nuclear warheads for their Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles.

  • Dan Wingert

Wall Street is ready for war.

  • 72 Dolphins

Should have nuked them to end the last war with them, unified the peninsula and we wouldn’t have them now threatening to nuke us. Do believe some famous general recommended the same during the war.

Not 3 months in office and the Trump war gang is getting ready to re-start the Korea War. A war the U.S. de facto lost the last time suffering heavy casualties. An epic war in Korea in 1952 started by U.S. post-war colonial policy. Commanded by famed general MacArthur. 5-Star Gen. MacArthur was ‘god’ and he ran the war theater anyway he wanted, with any amount of forces he wanted, on any war strategy he wanted. A weak president Truman was in no position to tell the ‘god’ what to do.

In 1952 America was truly king of the world, almighty in the full spectrum, unchallenged except by the other WW2 winner the USSR. China was a near fourth world country in total depression, a near failed state. With this in mind, let’s see what history says happened in the Korea War. Gen. MacArthur was making real progress against the North. He moved his huge forces to the Chinese border against order. There he was attacked with such a might his entire force almost got wiped out. Suffered huge casualties, MacArthur withdrew down south, the biggest and most humiliating army withdraw in U.S. history. MacArthur defeat was so severe he wanted to use nuclear weapons, a sure sign of desperation and insanity. Use the nuke and China will declare war on the USA, the USSR will join. Truman fired him.

Today it is the Trump war gang who is insane.

I should remind readers that S. Korea is the tip of the American military empire, a de facto colony. Not the other way around – America is NOT the tip of a Korean or Chinese empire. It is the insanity of imperialist that go huff and puff when their empire is resisted, challenged, from within and from outside. The American empire gang of war mongers simply cannot handle, cannot comprehend a country preparing defense for an invasion which is sure to come. This is what N. Korea is doing. But the U.S. sees no irony when with its own massive forces doing all kinds of defense and offense preparations, building the world most deadly weapon systems. And installing these forces in a foreign country at the tip of empire. A foreign country where it killed a million in the last war. Right next to China, a country that have been invaded times again for 200 years, and will do anything to make sure this won’t happen again.

The insanity and recklessness of the Trump’s war gang is breathtaking.

So far N. Korea have fired few primitive missiles into international waters. Not onto any foreign territory. I am not on anybody side, no fan of NK, but I see its actions completely sane, completely sound and credible. It is doing all it can to defend an invasion that will come sooner or later from the Great War Empire across the ocean. Once Trump ordered strikes on N. Korea facilities, no matter how ‘small’, N. Korea will have all legitimacy of self-defense to launch an invasion of the South. The North have 1 million men ready to go, Seoul is well within artillery and small missile range. U.S. bases in S. Korea within its longer missile range. Korea War 2 will start and this time it will be ten times as bloody. No amount of American force can defeat the North in Korean War 2. But the U.S. homeland will be hit.

This is 2017, not 1954. China and Russia are a million times stronger. The only sane policy is for Koreans to work out a unification scheme without ANY foreign forces in their land, without S. Korea being part of the American empire.

We have heard the endless cry of how North Korea leadership is insane, evil, every nasty term Christendom can throw. None of these words go to N. Korea and they don’t care even if they heard of them. These words are for domestic consumptions, for you the stupid mass. Get the stupid mass brainwashed to support political wars of empire. Because it is YOU who will pay for Trump’s war, who will die for him. Mr Kim is simply preparing to do what Trump want for his fellow Americans. As Gen. Patten once said “Make sure the SOBs die for his country.”

    • Lee Tompkins

Very good ! I can not agree with all you say however the main point of troops closing on the China Border is true . That was not supposed to happen and make China feel the need to enter Korea . They did a masterful job of moving 500,000 or more troops crossed and behind NATO units without being detected . Then millions died before things went to the stand off since 1953 . I think you ment WWIII in the comments and you are correct that a conventional war will most likely not take place . Because the North will most likely use some form of nuke . I don’t think that any other country would use first . As for Tactical nukes , that means small yield local area destruction , that we just don’t know . The problem is would all be small yield ? I would think that larger and larger distructive power is the problem . There should have been a restart of conventional war years ago . We stayed very focused when I was there by believing “war is immanent” and it still is !

  • Lee Tompkins

We have allowed this to reach this stage . The pulling out of so very much of our troops over the past years. Making deals over and over . That never has worked because the North never keeps any of them . If we will not make it clear to China that they should stay out of it if it happens , telling the North they are on their own , it will be much larger than 1950’s war . POTUS Truman wouldn’t use nukes , he should have , and with the North using one or more it will see them getting some in return . I expected to return to open fighting during my years serving in the Army 1968 – 1989 . There were so many flare ups during those years only for the U.S. to stand by for politics . Our numbers of troops are at the lowest in Korea since 1950 . The people of the North have been brainwashed into believing they can win a war against anyone . They don’t understand what can happen to them . Time to give nukes and training to the ROK’s !

  • David

“North Korea must understand that the only path to a secure, economic
prosperous future is to abandon its development of nuclear weapons,
    ballistic
missiles and other weapons of mass destruction” Doesn’t that Statement
ring in an Echo. Libyan Leader Kaddafi was told the same thing. Kaddafi
got rid of his Nukes during George W. Bush’s Regime and Obama put him
out of his misery a short while later.
Kim Flung Dung is no fool.
