The Thin Veneer Of Civilization That We All Take For Granted Is Evaporating All Over The Globe

Globe Abstract - Public DomainHave you noticed that the world seems to be going a little bit more crazy with each passing month?  Here we are halfway through 2016, and the rot and decay that are eating at the foundations of civilized society seem to be rapidly gaining momentum.  Every single day, all of us take certain things for granted as we go through our normal routines.  For example, as you walk down the street you probably take it for granted that someone is not going to pull out a gun and try to shoot you.  As members of a civilized society, we have come to expect that our fellow citizens will behave in a certain way.  Unfortunately, the thin veneer of civilization that we have all come to rely upon is steadily evaporating all over the globe, and chaos, crime and violence are all on the rise.

Even the United States is becoming a lawless place.  We saw this very clearly when the FBI magically cleared Hillary Clinton.  We’ll talk more about the deterioration of America later on in this article, but I would like to begin today by looking at what is going on in Brazil.  The Olympics are about a month away, and things are so bad in Rio de Janeiro that police have put up a billboard for all of the tourists that are coming in that says “Welcome to Hell”

The Olympic Games are 31 days away — and Rio de Janeiro is in crisis.

Violence is on the rise, and police officers are at loggerheads with the Rio state government after claiming they’ve not been paid for months.

The message from police to tourists is clear: We won’t be able to protect you.

The state’s police officers vented their anger Monday with a sign saying, “Welcome to Hell,” outside Rio’s main airport.

It may be hard to believe, but approximately 42,000 people are shot and killed in Brazil each year, and it has one of the highest homicide rates on the entire planet.

But it isn’t just the violence that those traveling to the Olympics need to be concerned about.  According to, a “super bacteria” has been found in the city’s waterways…

Lead researcher Renata Picao told CNN that a drug-resistant bacteria has entered the city’s waterways from sewage coming from local hospitals, which is channeled into Guanabara Bay and eventually washes up on area beaches.

“I don’t take my children to these beaches,” Picao said. “We still need more studies to tell what would be the risk to human health of this exposure through the water.”

According to the Associated Press, the Olympic sites on Guanabara Bay are tested daily for bacteria, and four of the five will not pose any problems, but also said the bay has shown astronomically high levels of viruses for which the state is not testing. Rio’s waters were found to contain viruses up to 1.7 million more times hazardous than a beach in the U.S, CBS reports.

The water is so bad in Rio that the U.S. rowing team will actually use sewage-proof suits at the Olympics.

Meanwhile, things are even worse in Brazil’s neighbor Venezuela.  47 percent of the population can no longer provide three meals a day for their families, people are hunting cats and dogs for food, and armed guards are being stationed on food trucks to keep the rioters and looters at bay.  It is a full-blown economic collapse, and what is happening in Venezuela right now is eventually coming to America.

Over in Europe, they are dealing with a major sexual assault epidemic.  Millions of refugees from the Middle East have poured into western Europe over the past couple of years, and the results have been nothing short of catastrophic.  The latest incident to make global headlines comes from Sweden

Over 20 girls between 12 and 18 years old told police they were sexually assaulted by a group of men during a music festival in Karlstad, Sweden.

Police are investigating “a score of cases in which young girls have been molested,” Swedish Aftonbladet daily reported.

It said that the alleged attacks occurred during the “Putte i Parken” rock festival in Karlstad in Varmland County, despite enhanced police presence.

Do you want to guess who the attackers were?  One of the young girls that was sexually assaulted said that the perpetrators “were not from a Swedish background”

She said that the boys around them were about 17 or 18-years-old but ‘those standing behind me were not from a Swedish background.’

‘They were probably immigrants. I hate to say it. But it is the truth,’ she said.

‘I have reported this to the police, but it feels like a drop in the ocean. I saw girls that came crying from the audience, including an old childhood friend who is two years younger. She cried so much that it broke my heart.’

But don’t worry, the police in Sweden have launched a new campaign against these kinds of assaults.  They plan to hand out bracelets that say “don’t molest” at music festivals and they have even started a special hashtag on Twitter.

That should do quite a bit to stem the tide.

Over in Germany, a leaked report is making waves because it specifically identifies refugees as the primary reason for the horrible wave of sexual assaults at swimming pools and other bathing establishments…

The internal report was issued for officers of the Criminal Commisariat 12 – responsible for sex crimes and missing persons – and states: ‘The K12 can confirm a surge in sex crimes at these establishments.

‘In particular rape and the sexual abuse of children in bathing establishments have given us grave cause for concern.

‘The perpetrators are, for the most part, immigrants.’

Look, I am all in favor of helping families that are fleeing the war in Syria, but these nations in Europe need to start using some common sense.

In the Middle East, the barbarism just continues to get even worse.  Just today, I saw a report about how ISIS is boiling people alive, and over the past couple of weeks there has been a shocking string of Islamic terror attacks all over the world.  According to Wikipedia, there have been more than 100 terror attacks worldwide per month so far in 2016, and during the month of June there were more than 200.

When are people going to start realizing that Islamic terror is a major threat and it is not going away?

In the United States, the thin veneer of civilization is breaking down as well, and this is especially true in many of our major cities.

Over the July 4th weekend, at least 64 people were shot in Chicago.  The homicide rate in the city is up nearly 50 percent so far in 2016, and the police are having a very difficult time trying to deal with rapidly escalating gang violence in the region.

But it isn’t just the rise in violent crime that shows how our society is decaying.  I want to share with you an incident that I came across earlier today that I think really gives us some insight into what is happening to this country.  Our young people have so little respect for one another or for anything else, and the way that they treat one another is not what you would expect from citizens of a “civilized” society.  Just check out this example of what I am talking about

A pair of young American men were left covered in Coke after they pranked a young female McDonald’s worker.

They approached a drive-thru in their SUV with the camera rolling.

Just as the girl prepares to take their money and hand them the drink they honk the horn, making her jump in fright.

But the worker had the last laugh when she said: ‘You’re not going to get your drink, go!’ before lobbing the large Coke back at them.

The driver tried to chuck the drink back but she shut the drive-thru window in time.

You can watch the young McDonald’s worker throwing the Coke at the two guys right here.  My point is not to place blame on the worker or on the two “pranksters”.  Rather, my point is to show how pathetic our interactions with one another have become.

We like to think that we are so “advanced”, but the truth is that we have become the kind of crude, disgusting slobs that the movie “Idiocracy” once mocked.

Could you imagine the people of Downton Abbey acting in this manner?

I certainly couldn’t.

And you know why they wouldn’t have acted this way?

It is because they were far more “civilized” than we are.

Our standards have fallen so low that very few people care if we even have standards anymore.  Just like most of the rest of the world, our society is crumbling, and as a result the thin veneer of civilization that we all take for granted is starting to disappear.

So how do we go about fixing things?  Please feel free to tell us what you think by posting a comment below…

  • kathym2

I don’t know if they can be fixed at this point.

    • K

Without divine intervention, I sadly agree. Many people who are pushing this insanity. Not so long ago. Would have been locked up, in insane asylums. Now, they want us to except, their insanity. I pray you are in a place. Where you can hunker down, in the coming times.

Stick a fork in us. We’re done. I am now going to retreat to my humble abode and prepare.

And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren. Genesis 16:12

    • Joan Camara

I believe that is speaking of Ishmael’s decendants…the muslims of today? Brother against brother, is one I think fits too..

    • Ian Hausser

That`s about the muslims, not about any politician, please do some research before quoting The Holy Bible without any prior investigation.

      • vaccines autism

The article talks about refugees from the middle east so the verse is on subject.

    • Lazarovic

      That’s a reference to Nimrod.

  • Brian

Great pain and suffering that brings us to our knees seeking forgiveness from God is a good start.

    • Hopefully, by His grace and mercy, it won’t come to that, but as the Father wills.

  • Russ Miller

First, Fukushima, now a ‘superbug’ in Brazil because they’re dumping hospital waste in the bay…can’t wait to see what crawls out of the Pacific Ocean.

    • Joan Camara

There’s a news report (was on yahoo home page, but can’t locate it now) that 4 counties in Florida, are in a “state of emergency, because of an algae bloom, and I just heard from someone (not confirmed yet), that there’s a big one in Myrtle Beach, SC….also. Crazy!

      • Russ Miller

And yet, so many people scoff at those who declare we are in the Last Days. Very concerning.

        • watchmannonthewall

I believe Peter discussed how scoffing at the return of Jesus would be a sign of the end times:
“Know his first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, ‘Where is the pronise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it has since the beginning of creation.’ For when they maintian this, it escapes their notice that by the Word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, through which the world at that time was destroyed being flooded by water.” (2 Peter 3:3-6)
What is Peter talking about? He tells us that most, including those who say they believe in God, will scoff at the testimony regarding the return of Messiah.
They will be just like those living just prior to the Flood, who though knowledgable about God, refused to submit to Him by refusing to accept the testimony of Noah and Methuselah with respect to God’s coming judgment. These today will also refuse to turn back to God and so will face the same destiny, albeit by fire instead of water.
I had an experience with a “scoffer”, a leader of the church I attended about 10 years ago, and was agast that he so clearly stated exactly what Peter had said would happen, yet had no apparent idea he was testifying against himself in his ignorance. Yes, very concerning!!

I’ve run across a growing number of pastors that no longer teach these doctrines. The Church of Laodicea immediately comes to mind Rev. 3: 14-22

          • watchmannonthewall

            Me too!

The great apostacy is happening right under many religious leader’s noses and they are oblivious to it! Just as in the first century, they think their “study” and “knowledge” of God’s Word qualifies hem as spokesmen for God but just like back then, they have twisted His Word, by adding their own words to it, and taught it improperly.

As mentioned elsewhere, Jeremiah and Ezekiel in chapters 23 and 34, respectively, inform us that the religious leaders of God will be blind and greedy just prior to His return, just as they were when He came at the 1st advent. Both prophets state He will hold them accountable for their failure to properly feed His sheep so they can live righteously and honor Him.

          • Russ Miller

Exactly! One such charlatan that comes to mind is Mike Murdock. What a money grubber!

    • vaccines autism

I think a lot of superbugs are the result of overuse of antibiotics. Antibiotics kill a lot of bacteria but a small percentage are resistant and take over. Maybe i’ll explain later or delete this.

  • Joan Camara

Anyone notice how crazy people’s driving has been? Or how many more wrecks there are? It’s definitely get crazy out there. Yes, moral values have gone out the window too.
As for the immigration of thousands of muslims, I have a reason why they are here, and why they are taking high positions in government. All anyone has to do is read Revelation 20:4, and think about it. Who’s going to be in charge of the mark system, but mostly, who’s going to be in charge of what happens to a person, who DOESN’T take the mark? It’s right there in one verse..just one.

    • Jim Davis

What I say is not crazy drivers, but inattentive texting/facebooking/twittering idiots. It’s now a very common occurrence for me that a light will turn green but no one will move because everyone in front of me is looking at their damned sail foam!

Hilliary Clinton just lost the election to become President. After what just happened no one should consider her for election.
Obama and Hilliary are using government transport to take them on the election trail. If that isn’t illegal it certainly should be. That transport is on the dime of every tax payer in this country. Every person in this country should be outraged by the use of government transportation for a politician seeking election.
The FBI has been intimidated? If that happened years ago no one would believe it! The FBI are the untouchables. At least until yesterday . . .
Same goes for Mr. Obama’s blatant interference in the current election process.
I think it is time for every Democrat to look over his shoulder because what is currently going on might just have a reaction against all Democrats up for election.
It is called the Silent Majority. No, they do not take polls. But they do vote.
I just hope there are enough people left out there that actually think things through to call them down on this.
The only thing people can do against corrupt government is to vote them out of office.

    • Paul Patriot

Sadly, hitlery will most likely be the next president.

It’s what the majority want…….and deserve

      • Bill G Wilminton NC

I believe that Trump will win by a landslide…..93 million people did not vote in the last election…a percentage of those non voters came out in droves and voted in the repub primary…they are going to come out like angry bees right to the voting booth…and voting for Trump.

and you`re some dumb, fat, uneducated white trash loser who will be dead in 6 months after Trump starts WW3…

You are forgetting about the millions of useful idiots that roam the countryside like a better-dressed version of The Walking Dead

      • Jim Davis

You are correct though I’m not certain about the better-dressed part.

    • She is the next president. Votes don’t count in America.

      • Lazarovic

If she is the next President, it will be because the votes were counted. You are very confused.

    • TheLulzWarrior

The problem is all the dead Democrat voters and of course, the populations that feels entitled to living on welfare.

Fumbling, Bureaucratic Incompetence is obviously compromised through and through.

    • iris

The FBI has had a terrible track record for honesty and transparency for decades. Bribery and or blackmail was probably at play, but their “decision” and her statements were made in an unconstitutional, slipshod manner, anyway. Since when does the FBI get to declare a person innocent of what probably amounts to multiple acts of treason? Shouldn’t this have been handled in a court of law? I’m reminded of the queen in Alice in Wonderland every time i see a picture of HRC, and am appalled that people can’t see the ineptitude in her past foibles and the arrogance and rudeness with which she’s treated those who know her.

  • James Dohnalek

People of all ages and and culture are finding more pleasure in demonic (hurtful) acts than good will (helpful, kind) acts. I believe it is a sign of toooo many people on earth and quality to earns a good living is deteriorating by the day. IT WILL NOT END WELL !!!

  • Paul Patriot

Love the mention of the “don’t molest” bracelets……sounds lime self defense hating demoncrats are everywhere……..Michael, should be ashamed of yourself for such “islamphobic” “hate speech” against Islam and followers of the “religion of peace”…..don’t you know that we a supposed to be one good little politically correct sheeple and kiss the behinds of and join hands with those who want to behead us because we refuse to acknowledge their “prophet”????

How ironic, that the next president will be pushing for more gun control, and making it harder for law abiding folks to defend themselves in the midst of an increasingly lawless, violent society.

Once sharia law is implemented here in the USA, y’all are going to wish you did not allow your firearms to be regulated/confiscated… will be a case where criminals, terrorists, and government has the guns…….history is trying to teach us what happens when that perfect storm cones, but, we are too distracted with our sports and reality tv shows to care about freedom being taken from us, and could care less about honoring the living God.

    Two quotes from Einstein:

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I am not sure about the universe.

The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has limits.

  • JB

Only the gospel will fix things. You can’t give man a new heart – only God can. The unregenerate (natural) man doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ, thinks only of himself and cannot understand the things of God (1 Corinthians 2). The wrath of God abides on him. In fact, God’s
Word confirms they will only get worse: “evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived” (2 Timothy 3:13).

This country began with the gospel when the Pilgrims landed. We didn’t need as many laws; Christians walked in love and the law has no power over love (Romans 7). The law is for law breakers. Gradually, more and more laws had to be written until now, we write and rewrite – and people still don’t obey them. Laws and punishment do not change anybody – look our prisons or look at Revelation where God is pouring out His wrath upon the earth – the people curse Him all the more.

God’s law does have a purpose – to show you your sin, that you
are under His wrath and there will come a day when you will have to stand before Him and give an account as His holy, righteous eyes burn through your soul. But He has provided an escape, free of charge – the free gift of salvation through His Son. All you have to do is by faith accept Christ into your heart to begin the journey of transformation into His likeness (sanctification). But salvation is
instant and a free gift – and enables you to pass from death to life (you become spiritually alive) – and a “new creation.”

    • Paul Patriot

Amen. That’s better preaching than what is preached from most pulpits in churches today. Thank you for your words.

Grace be with you and yours.

Humanity seems to need the equivalent of a computer reboot. Maybe an EMP and associated loss of everything electric and electronic for an extended period of time would serve to reorient people. I don’t know. I do know that daily, I just beg that God’s mercy be wider than the justice we bring upon ourselves by lack of love toward God and one another.

  • Robert

Do something? Not fixable. Just look at the crudity that occurs routinely in this blog comment section.

  • P>Hopkins

I’m not sure that the McDonalds incident the author referenced is the best example. Kids have done stuff like this forever. Its not right, but its not new either. I don’t disagree with the overall reasoning of the article, however. I think its right on point

  • Daddyotis

How do we go about fixing it?? There IS no fixing it! It will only get worse. The best we can do is position ourselves and our families into communities whose location and/or makeup naturally inhibits assimilation by these types of people. Highly rural, Christian-based localities will thrive in the coming collapse…while the depraved Luddites in the cities and “hipster” regions will decline and perish.

Prepare now. Or face the consequences.

Well this is the Hope and Change every one wanted. Not that it would be any different I John Hot Flash McCain or Mittens the Rummy were in the drivers seat. Both parties like to bomb the hell out of the innocent, do false flag attacks at it’s own citizens to push an agenda. News flash people, we now live in a Plutocracy! Because of this, the whole world hates us, and soon we’ll stand alone. Now that FBI Director Commie gave Hitlary a get out of jail free card, no doubt the fix is in and who will be the next dictator will be with a pen and a cell phone! Not that the primary was rigged. I’m shocked Jeb didn’t get the nomination, I’m sure it was rigged for him, but maybe the extra million and a half voters in the Republican primaries had something to do with it.

At least Trump expresses the anger of the people that are awake now. If it wasn’t for Trump, I’d vote 3rd party again as always.

I’m surprised you didn’t bring up the Zika virus. I think this hype was to kill the Olympics in Rio because of Brazil and BRICS.

This war on terror is nothing but a money make for the MIC, and to destroy America. We lost our country in the 1963 coup! The greatest generation dropped the ball. The baby boomers were complacent, and the following generations are brain dead thanks to our wonderful education system, vaccines, and fluoride. This of coarse is what the globalist want.

You ask how do we fix things? We don’t, but God will. This is a continuation of the battle that started long ago in The Garden. There are things we can be doing to help starting with falling on our knees in prayer and bringing as many souls to a saving knowledge of Jesus as possible. Be an example to the youth. Be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

During the late 1960’s thru the mid 1970’s (#1) A body of teen & young adult Christian Missionaries, were led to cross the Country, doing demonstrations in City Parks, and streets, wearing Red Sackcloth robes, a black smear of charcoal across they’re foreheads, a Cows Yoke around their necks, a gold ring in their right ear, a 5 ft. staff, and a scroll, (usually 1.5 ft. wide X 3.5 ft. long), bearing different quotes from the Bible Book of Jeremiah. They LITERALLY spanned across the Northern region, Central Region, and Southern Region of America, declaring that the “MESSAGE OF JEREMIAH” was upon the Nation…(#2) And NOW we watch as that message is played out across the Nation….and we wonder WHY?

These two FACTS, (I was one of those “Sackcloth Witnesses”), leave only one more statement to be made: “Be not deceived, God is not mocked; whatsoever a person, {Nation?} sows, THAT shall they ALSO reap!”,[Gal.6:7]…BEWARE! BE AWARE! PREpare! & CARE!

We definitely are losing respect towards each other, and I’m afraid to admit that I’m not an exception. It’s a long story, but I’ve had with a dispute with a defiant neighbor recently. I dealt with her situation inappropriately but I couldn’t help myself. It’s fairly easy to push my buttons.

We’ve become a nation of anger, hate and hostility.

Anger is almost entirely caused by hormones (at least testosterone in males). Testosterone is a catch-22 hormone. It makes life bad if you have it and bad if you don’t have it.
On the negative side it makes males angry, increases negative thoughts, increases grudges, prevents calmness, negative gossip, etc. addiction, sexual desires, balding, makes men hairy, cold air intolerant, shorter lifespan.

But if a man doesn’t have testosterone he gets weak, hot flashes/sweats, risk of fainting if too hot, osteoporosis (unless eat healthy), thin hand skin, chapped lips, gynecomastia.

  • VigilanteCaregiver

The basic necessities of a functioning civilization are fading from sight: Religion to provide the ethical, moral and emotional fabric. A form of shared education (not a public education system) that involves a single language, complex mathematics, empirical history, theoretical and practical science, etc. A dynamic, stable, local food supply that provides an excess to export. Arts created by the general populace in their spare time (not so much by professionals) to give character and record for the civilization. Advancing technology that causes civilization to grow and develop. A social structure best based on traditional families (father, mother, children) to provide structure and future for the civilization. And a government to punish criminals of actual crimes (theft, assault, murder) and to organize defense.

Each and every one of these are separate entities from the other, but mutually exclusive. There is no such thing as a “wall of separation”; it’s more of a curtain – both can communicate and parley, but neither should pass through. The best example being the Berlin Wall of Separation made by leftist usurpers attempting coups against churches that won’t concede. Churches have every right to speak with and influence government as governments are not charged with enforcing ethics and morals whereas religion does. Religion cannot assume ministration roles without collapse (this is what’s happened in Islamic nations without US and European money to prop it up).

What’s happening today is a total bastardization of civilization as constituted. The current attempt by usurpers on all sides is to bring all aspects of civilization under a single power broker. Our other problem is there’s numerous power brokerages and parties vying for the illegitimate mantle of Emperor. This always results in civil war. The illegitimate law enforcement that occurred with Madame Hilary is a prime example of this. Many in their party are illegally sheltered from equal enforcement of the law – this is just a fact. Other groups then parlay for table scraps from the ruling party or attempt to take them out. And all the while, the perceived peasants (the actual majority) must pay for all this or suffer.

All that’s needed is for the majority to enforce civilization on the usurpers. Use imprisonment, fines and fees, social pressures, and such to quell this multifaceted rebellion.

    • chevy fan

“Churches have every right to speak with and influence government as governments are not charged with enforcing ethics and morals whereas religion does.”

      So you believe in theocracy?

      • VigilanteCaregiver

Worldview doesn’t translate into morality – that’s merely opinion. And since mankind cannot create a functional and beneficial competitive morality to what many religions – especially Christianity – has produced, then the argument is invalid. Look to the horrific slaughters of the modern age – that’s your secular utopia’s results. Own it.

I have choices – what works vs your side’s screw ups. I choose correctly.

        • chevy fan

I guess I maybe agree although religious groups have also been responsible for much loss of life (not the real Christians). Sorry for the comment I put. I’m trying to serve the Lord now but it’s hard to esp. for my generation.

Ok, here’s what I’ve noticed: Evangelical Christians equate losing an election with signs of the end times. This is an hysterical overreaction to the fact that other Americans disagree with them politically, socially, spiritually, etc. Given their worldview, which has no room for science or accommodation of other views, they can’t just say, “oh well, we’ll try again next election”; no, it has to be a portent of the end of the world, because those “other” people are controlled by the Devil. This is no different than the worldview of Islamic terrorists, who have an equally unbending ideology. In both cases, disagreement is seen as treason and heresy. No respect is afforded to those with whom they disagree; they are not even worthy of simple human compassion. They are to be killed in the case of the Islamists, excoriated and vilified in the case of Evangelical Christians, with veiled threats about “preparing”, which is itself a threat to use armed force against the “others”.

Except that the Islamic extremists will kill you if they consider you their enemy ( meaning if you are Christian, Jewish, Hindu, or a moderate Muslim). The worst the Evangelicals will do is tell you you’re going to hell, or refuse to sell you flowers. Big deal.

      • Lazarovic

        Yes, I said that.

        • Jodie Lynn Gaeta

          Not really.

There is only one way to solve the decay of civilization and that is to return to God and his laws. Having said that I suggest everyone prepare for worst because I would bet my last dime the US or the world will NOT return to the lord for any reason at this point.

And then you look at Donald Trump who is too busy lashing out on the right to even mount any campaign strategy in the other states not named New York.
He is running against the most easily beaten DNC candidate in history yet will not put his campaign together. The truth is he needs us, the 66% of voters who cast their ballots against him in the primary and instead he and his core tell us we are the minority who need to get in line. This is a joke on both the DNC and GOP sides of the coin.

    • retired22

      What’s your problem,Molly?
Trump dropped a whole load of reality on you.
Did he give you a hard kick in your lifestyle thing waking you up to the real dangers out there?
Very hard to satisfy a snowflake in need of a safe space!

Many years ago, a wise man said:

“A culture is a culture only as long as it rejects other cultures”.

The integration of other cultures and people is destroying what was once the greatest country on Earth.

    • Lazarovic

….a country made up of the integration of other cultures and people. What do you think “E Pluribus Unum” means Wilbur? Don’t be a blockhead boy, think before you speak.

      • Common Sense

Only a blockhead would not realize Wilbur was referring to our American culture. It happens to be something worth holding on to. Not all the world believes in personal freedom.

And all of this was written,..I presume, before the news came in about the
slaughter of police in Dallas yesterday!

    • vaccines autism

There’s always 2 sides of the story. Police in the U.S. kill citizens at over 70 times the rate of other first-world nations. In 2014 1,100 people were killed by police, an average of 3 people per day! The number of Americans killed by police outnumbers Americans killed in the Iraq war. A related example is in 1981 there were 3,000 no knock warrants executed in America. In 2005 this number increased to over 50,000 no knock raids.

China, who has 4 and 1/2 times more people than the US, recorded 12 killings by police in 2014.

      • retired22

And the police who were shot down in Dallas were cops who were known to be killers?
It makes sense if you are demented!
Sort of like you splashed mud on my car so I slashed the tires on your car to get even.

        • vaccines autism

The #1 cause of unnatural death is democide, which is the murder of people by governments. The police’s job is not to protect the citizens, but to enforce whatever laws the elite and corporations pass down via their puppet government. Police are the government’s private security force, NOT OURS. As police shoot more and more innocent people, and more and more police get off free, the trust in police erodes, and that puts all police at a higher risk. What goes around comes back around.

          • retired22

One thing has nothing to do with the other!
These cops were not harming anyone,…they were shot down while protecting the public!

          • vaccines autism

Yes it is sad but far more citizens get shot down by police.

We’re also incredibly lawless and often violent as a society compared to others. The Chinese are probably too scared to act up much. Most police are caring and courageous individuals, we have several serving and retired on my husband’s side of the family and they’re fine people who would give you the shirt off of their backs. My brother in law recently relayed a story of how he and another officer actually kept a homeless alcoholic alive for years by taking him to jail periodically, so that he kept from freezing and got healthy food for a few days at a time. It’s also a great strain on marriages and families when a member puts their lives on the line on a daily basis like that, and for not much compensation.

  • Georgiaboy61

“Even the United States is becoming a lawless place. We saw this very clearly when the FBI magically cleared Hillary Clinton.”

Post-constitutional America isn’t quite yet fully-lawless, but we have something which is, in some ways, even worse – a two-tiered legal system. De jure, we have one code of law, evenly and impartially-applied, but de facto, we have two varieties of law – one which applies to everyday people, and one which applies to the influential and powerful members of the ruling class elites.

Remember “Turbo” Timmy Geithner, former SecTreas. in Obama’s first term? Geithner, at the time of the senate hearings for his confirmation, was arrears some $30,000 in his taxes – quite a serious matter if you are not a member of the ruling class. For most folks, that is enough to see your wages garnished, a heavy fine levied or possibly even jail time if you can’t pay it off. However, Geithner skated since he is a member of the ruling class – and was approved for Treasury Secretary. The big-shots take care of their own, that’s certainly apparent.

If an average person on the street committed and was charged with the crimes of which HRC is accused, they would be looking at serious prison time – perhaps life w/o the possibility of parole. However, since HRC is an insider, she has a “Get Out of Jail Free” card.

Ted Kennedy had one a half-century ago, which is why he skated after Chappaquiddick and the death of Mary Jo Kopechne. Ted’s father, Kennedy patriarch Joseph Kennedy, was able to pull the strings necessary to keep young Edward out of jail with a clean record.

If an ordinary person, one not part of the protected class, had done what Ted Kennedy did, he/she would have been charged & convicted of negligent homicide or manslaughter – and done serious prison time.

In sum, the rule of law is applied fully and forcefully, right down to the detail, in the case of the ‘proles, your Joe/Jane Sixpack types out in flyover country – but the wealthy and influential class has all sorts of means of avoiding legal entanglements – even when they commit serious and/or violent, felonies. They are literally “above the law”…

A day’s wages to buy food, but yet at the same time the CEO is making billions by exploiting our labor and saying how awesome it is to for us to work for his company.
The rich get richer, the poor get poorer.

Society becomes more and more stupid, lazy and ignorant. Especially the young generations. Stupid pranks, dumbing-down entertainment, smartphones and Fashion. People more and more resembles mindless zombies rather than aware citizens. This is it – this can’t last long. A collapse of Western Civilization is imminent. More wars, Brexit, terrorism, clash of civilizations. You name it.
