The Television Commercial About The National Debt That Is Being Banned By Major Networks

A new television ad about the U.S. national debt produced by Citizens Against Government Waste has been deemed “too controversial” by major networks including ABC, A&E and The History Channel and will not be shown on those channels. The commercial is a homage to a 1986 ad that was entitled “The Deficit Trials” that was also banned by the major networks.  Apparently telling the truth about the national debt is a little too “hot” for the major networks to handle.  But perhaps it is time to tell the American people the truth.  In 1986, the U.S. national debt was around 2 trillion dollars.  Today, it is rapidly approaching 14 trillion dollars. The American Dream is being ripped apart right in front of our eyes, but apparently some of the major networks don’t want the American people to really understand what is going on.

The truth is that the ad does not even have anything in it that should be offensive. The commercial is set in the year 2030, and the main character is a Chinese professor that is seen lecturing his students on the fall of great empires. As images of the United States are shown on a screen behind him, the Chinese professor tells his students the following about the behavior of great empires: “They all make the same mistakes. Turning their backs on the principles that made them great. America tried to spend and tax itself out of a great recession. Enormous so-called “stimulus” spending, massive changes to health care, government takeover of private industries, and crushing debt.”

Perhaps it is what the Chinese Professor says next that is alarming the big television networks: “Of course, we owned most of their debt, so now they work for us”.

So is this television commercial offensive? Watch it below and decide for yourself….

Does this ad not make some great points?

Month after month, thousands of jobs and billions of dollars gets transferred permanently from the United States to China.

In 1985, the U.S. trade deficit with China was 6 million dollars for the entire year.  In the month of August alone, the U.S. trade deficit with China was over 28 billion dollars.

The Chinese government has accumulated hundreds of billions of excess dollars, and U.S. government officials now regularly make trips over there to beg them to keep lending more money to our government so that we can continue to go on living far beyond our means.

But the borrower always ends up as the servant of the lender, and we are rapidly becoming the servants of the Chinese.

But it did not have to be this way.

We did not have to merge the U.S. economy into a globalized one-world economy where U.S. workers are put in direct competition for jobs with millions of Chinese workers that make less than a dollar per hour.

Factories, wealth and jobs are leaving the United States at a blinding pace.  Since 2001, approximately 42,400 American factories have closed their doors.

America is being deindustrialized, and the sad thing is that most Americans do not even realize that it is a major problem.

As of the end of 2009, less than 12 million Americans worked in manufacturing.  The last time that less than 12 million Americans were employed in manufacturing was in 1941.

Does that sound like progress to you?

Today, the United States spends about $3.90 on Chinese goods for every $1 that China spends on goods from the United States.

China is accomplishing this by openly manipulating currency rates, by allowing their population to be paid slave labor wages and by putting up unfair barriers to U.S. goods.

And our politicians are letting them get away with it.

So China is winning and we are losing.  In fact, one prominent economist is now projecting that the Chinese economy will be three times larger than the U.S. economy by the year 2040.

Meanwhile, formerly great American manufacturing cities such as Detroit now look like post-apocalyptic war zones.

So what do you think?  Do you think that television networks should be banning the new ad by Citizens Against Government Waste?  Feel free to leave a comment with your opinion….

Tax the scum bag greedy corporations who outsource all the jobs.

There was going to be a remake of the 1984 film Red Dawn in which the Chinese were going to be the villians who invade America. Of course the plot was never revealed, but part of the script was leaked and people in China raised hell that the film was anti-Chinese. Now MGM, the production company making the film, has decided to post pone the film’s release. Some blame it on the financial troubles at MGM, but my gut tells me that our future masters did not like the idea of Americans fighting against China on their own soil.

It’s even worse than you think.

The real national debt, if you include all the unfunded liabilities, is $200 trillion.

The Bankster endgame to pay this all back is a really, really big war.

Watch for a false flag event – staged hostilities that will draw us into a big war. It remains to be seen if the American people will wake up and see it for what it really is and choose not to play the game.

There is an unspoken-of 3rd member in this nightmare: Taiwan.

Uncle Sam – never able to mind His own business – is obligated to the defense of Taiwan.

The gov’t of China wants Taiwan.

Uncle Sam is massively indebted to China.

One day China will make an offer to Uncle Sam: Taiwan for debt relief.

Welcome to the NWO. It could not have happened unless our government wanted it that way. What does that tell you?

  • dogismyth

Its a propaganda piece. Why the Chinese? What does that have to do with how we conduct free and open business transactions here in the USA? IT DOESN”T.

I’m all for getting the ugly truths out to the public so they know how corrupt and complicit our Congress is with regards to big business creating fascism here in the US. BUT THIS VIDEO JUST SIDETRACKS US INTO BLAMING THE CHINESE.

More propaganda. Just state the truths!!. China is NOT responsible for what happens here. Our leaders are. That should be the message.

THUMBS DOWN. Glad they did not allow it!!

    • J M

Are you stupid or something??? It’s not blaming the Chinese, it’s a possible vision about what the future of the US will be if we continue to abandon the principles that made us great. It’s purpose is to make us aware of what we’re doing. Not get mad at China.

“China is accomplishing this by openly manipulating currency rates, by allowing their population to be paid slave labor wages and by putting up unfair barriers to U.S. goods.”

America is doing exactly the same thing to China by refulsing to allow the Chinese to buy companies in the US for “security reasons”. Oh yeah, they can buy any amount of US investment paper crap, no problem, have at it, guys, but when the Chines want to buy REAL assets, the answer is “get lost”.

I wish you wouldn’t always talk about “we” and “us” when you refer to Americans. A lot of your readers are not American and the sappy reference is very irritating.

I notice your text is veering more and more towards blind defense of the US versus other countries. You are beginning to sound very right-wing in your commentaries. This is a pity.

Otherwise, excellent stuff (please avoid repetitious words like “very very” and saying “literally” when the point at issue is not “literally” true). A little less emotion, please.

Your post is fairly constructive and you make some ok counterpoints but you completely ruin it all when you start harping on the authors writing style (mostly the last little blurb). You turned an argument about the facts into a petty gripe over semantics. Get down from off your pedastal.

This is all about limiting Free Speech. After all, censorship is everywhere. The gov’t (and their big business cronies) censor free speech, shut down dissent and ban the book “America Deceived II”. Free speech for all.
Last link (before Google Books bans it also]:
    America Deceived II (book)

What’s wrong with “right wing” Richard? Most nations are right wing. Right wing means you are part of a nation, a citizen. Left wing means your’e a cosmopolitan nothing. Kind of like our present leaders that outsource our jobs are.

  • mondobeyondo

China quite literally owns this country. Our biggest foreign debt is to China.

Do you know what happens when you have debt you can’t pay? That’s right, the lender sues, or finds another way to get recompensation! What do you think China will do to us?

The borrower is indeed the slave to the lender.
    USA = Borrower
    China = Lender

We are not heading towards a pleasant place, folks.

  • Buck Henry

This ad is so controversal because it actually told the truth. Do you think that the endgame for China is to sell us trinkets, no. They are trying to get as much technology and scientific know how into their society in order to become a superpower. They are essentially forcing companies to transfer their know how to partnerships with Chinese companies. They don’t want to be partnered with the US companies, they want to eventually buy them out and be the Intel of th world etc. etc..

They are fighting without fighting, like Szun Tzu the greatest skill is to defeat an enemy without fighting him. They are using our weaknesses and our foibles against us and it’s working. Chris Hedges made a comment on CBC radio and essentially at the end of the 27 minute interview said that America may essentially collapse from within and we become a shattered country of many regions. Believe it or not, we did this to ourselves.

  • AstheFrogBoils

The great federal reserve system no money exists
unless there is a debt. So we have been asking
China mainly and japan, etc to buy our bonds so we can create money. So the borrower is servant to the lender, simple,

Confuscious says: He Who owes money is slave to he who lends money.

  • Richard

There is nothing wrong with “right-wing” per se. The trouble is that those who are trying to support the absurd presence of America’s armed forces and other ostentatious representations of their existence (mostly commercial) in other people’s countries almost always adhere to right-wing philosophy.

Reverse NAFTA, stop giving tax breaks to corporations that have income from overseas, stop being the policeman of the world. We can already kill everyone on the planet multiple times, so start helping people instead of building better killing machines!

  • Gina

I say run the ad! Keep running it! It scared the crap out of me and we all need to wake up and realize just WHAT in the heck is going on?!

  • zack

We have already passed the tipping point on the national debt. Hyperinflation is the only way the government knows to get out of this situation, which is the real reason the Fed has announced more quantitative easing.

  • PubliusSpeaks

China’s economic system “state capitalism” coughcoughcough… uh communism is being put forth as the ideal system. A lot of their economics has hinged upon loans from the IMF/World Bank and also has at least 300,000,000 people in significant poverty. As we collapse and are in mass chaos, state capitalism and a World Government will be put forward as our savior. Please, prepare yourself for the proverbial rainy day so we can all be stronger when things are crazy. Having some faith in something devine and knowing who you are will help when the storm is tearing at the seams of society.

  • Man, I’m glad I don’t have to listen to you idiots everyday. More like a conspiracy theory blog than an intelligent conversation.

Simple solution – Use the military to bulldoze the front door on the major news networks and seize them. Problem solved! This is kind of what the Russian’s did to the Israeli’s who seized the media (and a bunch of other industries during privatization in Russia) I have a feeling that day is coming.

    This is sooooo true.

Do they show it on PBS? It seems vaguely familiar to me … perhaps they have … anyway

The American Dream is being ripped apart right in front of our eyes, but apparently some of the major networks don’t want the American people to really understand what is going on.

The first thing to do is repeal the IRS income tax, break down the FED RESRV, and as a result it stops the spending cold by the US Gov.

  • Read up on these groups and you will see that the media is owned by the American destruction experts below:

So much for the first amendment. I think it’s time to boycott all the networks that refuse to run it.

  • Yazzle

Sounds like very subtle anti-Obama pre-election propaganda to me!

  • It’s not just TV commercials that ignore the National Debt, that whole (Hollywood area) culture seems bent on ignoring the National Debt. Perhaps there is a “deeper reason” why a culture based around making extraordinary amounts of money from the citizens, is what really concerns them?

Perhaps they know that they are some of the prime creators of messages to the Country, and therefore may have a feeling that they are a part responsible for causing this type of thing. Listen, tens of 1000’s of creative minds working together can’t come up with solutions? But can continue to make movies that rake in billions and support big industry also raking in billions (even support Government messages too!)… Something is amiss in that scenario.

The TRUTH hurts yet if U heed it you will be set free. This ad hammers the reality of our irresponsibility as a nation and paints the path toward recovery.

Just watched this ad and we had to turn off the tv, it was so offensive. Talk about debt all you want, and make your point, but this is scapegoating racist fear mongering of the worst sort. How do you think Chinese Americans feel about this? Obviously, the producers don’t care. Only white Americans are real Americans according to this brutish characterization. It is heartbreaking to see our great country reduced to the mentality of a brutish mob. The debt we can resolve with patience and determination, not by hateful scapegoating of the Chinese, or the Mexicans, or the Jews or the blacks, or anybody else.
