The Name Of Jesus Has Become A Dirty Word In Politically Correct America

CensoredIn the United States today, there are very few words that provoke as much outrage as the name of Jesus.  It is being banned from graduation ceremonies, chaplains all over America are being forbidden from using His name in their prayers, and many school officials all over the nation have become absolutely fanatical about eliminating every trace of Christian expression from their schools.  One elementary school in North Carolina even ordered a little six-year-old girl to remove the word “God” from a poem that she had written to honor her grandfathers.  Political correctness is spreading like a cancer in this country, and our “freedom of religion” is rapidly being transformed into a guarantee of “freedom from religion” for those that hate the Christian faith.

Without a doubt, there is a war on the Christian faith in America today.  It is being waged in classrooms, courtrooms and churches all over the nation.

The following is an excerpt from a speech that Rand Paul gave earlier this year

There is a war on Christianity, not just from liberal elites here at home, but worldwide.

And your government, or more correctly, you, the taxpayer, are funding it.

Evidence of this war on Christianity is everywhere these days.  The following are just a few examples…

-An elementary school in North Carolina ordered a little six-year-old girl to remove the word “God” from a poem that she wrote to honor her two grandfathers that had served in the Vietnam War.

-The Ohio Statehouse banned Christian pastors from using the name of Jesus when they open up the daily sessions with prayer.

-The use of the name of Jesus was also forbidden in all prayers opening sessions of the North Carolina State-House.

-Last year, a federal appeals court ruled that prayers before commission meetings in Forsyth County, North Carolina that included the name of Jesus were unconstitutional.

-Earlier this year, a Florida Atlantic University student that refused to stomp on the name of Jesus was banned from class.

-A student at Sonoma State University was ordered to take off a cross that she was wearing because someone “could be offended“.

-A teacher in New Jersey was fired for giving his own Bible to a student that did not own one.

-An open air preacher in Illinois was recently threatened with arrest for “scaring people” with the message of the gospel.

-A high school track team was disqualified earlier this year because one of the runners “made a gesture thanking God” once he had crossed the finish line.

-Volunteer chaplains for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have been banned from using the name of Jesus in their public prayers.  Sadly, this is not an isolated incident.  Chaplains all over the nation are now being banned from using the name of Jesus.

-In recent months, daredevil Nik Wallenda has walked a tightrope across Niagara Falls and has walked a tightrope across the Grand Canyon, and yet both times the mainstream media has gone out of the way to keep the name of Jesus out of news reports

Despite Nik Wallenda’s frequent mentions of God the Father and Jesus during his high-wire crossing of Niagara Falls Friday night, an ABC News blog documenting virtually every moment of the achievement makes no mention of his verbal thanks to the Creator.

Wallenda, 33, the great grandson of legendary tightrope walker Karl Wallenda, walked across Niagara Falls on a high wire, as hundreds watched on TV at a block party in his Florida hometown of Sarasota, Fla., and millions of others tuned in for ABC television coverage.

Wallenda was fitted with a microphone during his tension-filled, 25-minute saunter at 200 feet high, and he could be heard praising God numerous times as he walked the length of four football fields from New York to Canada.

A recently released 140 page report entitled “The Survey of Religious Hostility in America” included some more examples of how Christianity is being systematically oppressed in America today…

  • A federal judge threatened ‘incarceration’ to a high school valedictorian unless she removed references to Jesus from her graduation speech.
  • City officials prohibited senior citizens from praying over their meals, listening to religious messages or singing gospel songs at a senior activities center.
  • A public school official prevented a student from handing out flyers inviting her classmates to an event at her church.
  • A public university’s law school banned a Christian organization because it required its officers to adhere to a statement of faith that the university disagreed with.
  • The U.S. Department of Justice argued before the Supreme Court that the federal government can tell churches and synagogues which pastors and rabbis it can hire and fire.
  • The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs banned the mention of God from veterans’ funerals, overriding the wishes of the deceased’s families.
  • A federal judge held that prayers before a state House of Representatives could be to Allah but not to Jesus.

Are you starting to get the picture?

And one of the biggest battlegrounds for religious freedom in America at the moment is the U.S. military.

Right now, there are some very powerful forces that are trying to eradicate all expressions of the Christian faith from the U.S. military.  It has gotten so bad that a 23 year Air Force veteran was recently ordered to remove his Bible from his desk, and the Air Force recently came out and announced that service members are only allowed to talk about their faith if it “does not make others uncomfortable“.

The U.S. military is a far different institution than it once was.  Today, political correctness rules the U.S. military.

If you doubt this, just check out this example

Lt. Col. Kenneth Reyes is a Christian chaplain currently serving in the U.S. Air Force. He is stationed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska. As an ordained clergyman whose duties are to provide religious instruction and spiritual counseling, he has a page on the base’s website called “Chaplain’s Corner.”

Reyes recently wrote an essay entitled, “No Atheists in Foxholes: Chaplains Gave All in World War II.” This common saying is attributed to a Catholic priest in World War II, made famous when President Dwight D. Eisenhower said during a 1954 speech: “I am delighted that our veterans are sponsoring a movement to increase our awareness of God in our daily lives. In battle, they learned a great truth that there are no atheists in the foxholes.”

The Military Religious Freedom Foundation was absolutely outraged when they heard about this.  They demanded that the commander of the base, Col. Brian Duffy, do something about the “anti-secular diatribe” that Reyes had authored.

In the old days, a base commander would have had a good chuckle and then would have told the MRFF where to stick their complaint, but the old days are gone.

These days, base commanders cower subserviently before politically correct organizations such as the MRFF.  Just check out what happened next

Nonetheless, only five hours after MRFF’s complaint, the essay was removed from the website. Duffy has profusely apologized to MRFF for not stopping this religious leader from sharing religious thoughts.

But this response—which again appears to be a violation of Reyes’s First Amendment rights—is insufficient for MRFF. They said, “Faith based hate, is hate all the same,” and, “Lt. Col. Reyes must be appropriately punished.” (Emphasis added).

And thanks to the MRFF, special edition Bibles for service members have been banned from being sold on military bases…

Bowing to a complaint from a religious watchdog group, the Pentagon will no longer give consent for a publisher to use the official emblems of the military services on a line of Bibles sold on base exchanges.

The group claimed victory, but an association of former military chaplains is demanding that Congress overturn the Defense Department’s decision.

The Bibles, branded for each of four services as “The Soldier’s Bible,” “The Sailor’s Bible” and so on, are published by LifeWay Christian Resources’ Holman Bible Publishers, a subsidiary of the Southern Baptist Bible Convention, said Chris Rodda, the senior research director for the Military Religious Freedom Foundation.

The MRFF is a very insidious organization.  It is headed up by a man named Mikey Weinstein.  He has called Christians “human monsters” and “enemies of the United States Constitution“.  Weinstein is convinced that sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ while in the military is “sedition and treason” and should be punished as such.

You would think that people like Weinstein would be dismissed as lunatics, but unfortunately under the Obama administration he has been brought in as a special adviser to the Pentagon.

What a crazy world that we live in.

Meanwhile, Barack Obama himself has remained completely silent as a totally innocent American citizen is being tortured in an Iranian prison.  If that prisoner was a liberal activist, Obama would be moving heaven and earth to get him released.  But because he is a Christian, we haven’t heard a peep out of Obama, and many Christian leaders want an explanation…

One of the nation’s most prominent evangelical leaders wants to know why President Obama has remained silent as Iran tortures an American pastor held captive in one of the Islamic republic’s most notorious prisons.

Franklin Graham, the president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse, told Fox News the imprisonment and torture of Pastor Saeed Abedini is a blatant example of “religious intolerance.”

“Many in the international community are expressing outrage over this blatant example of religious intolerance,” Graham said. “I ask that our government do the same and demand that Pastor Saeed Abedini be released and allowed to return home to his wife and family in the United States.”

We are rapidly moving toward a time when followers of Jesus will be treated as second class citizens in America.  The following are some other examples of this trend…

  • A War Games scenario at Fort Leavenworth that identified Christian groups and Evangelical groups as being potential threats;
  • A 2009 Dept. of Homeland Security memorandum that identified future threats to national security coming from Evangelicals and pro-life groups;
  • A West Point study released by the U.S. Military Academy’s Combating Terrorism Center that linked pro-lifers to terrorism;
  • Evangelical leader Franklin Graham was uninvited from the Pentagon’s National Day of Prayer service because of his comments about Islam;
  • Christian prayers were banned at the funeral services for veterans at Houston’s National Cemetery;
  • Bibles were banned at Walter Reed Army Medical Center – a decision that was later rescinded;
  • Christian crosses and a steeple were removed from a chapel in Afghanistan because the military said the icons disrespected other religions

For much more on all of this, please see my previous article entitled “All Over America Evangelical Christians Are Being Labeled As Extremists And Hate Groups“.

This is not what America is supposed to be about.

How quickly we have turned our backs on the values of our founders.

In a recent article, Lt. Gen. Jerry Boykin tried to remind us of how far we have drifted from what our founders intended…

It’s a good thing that George Washington is dead and military history effectively banished from our campuses. Otherwise, we might remember the general order Washington issued upon taking command of the embattled Continental Army–and in Boston, no less. The general “requires and expects of all officers and soldiers a punctual attendance at Divine services, to implore the blessing of Heaven upon the means used for our safety and defense.” In the same way, any assistant professor of government hoping to achieve tenure will likely skim over certain sections of the first president’s Farewell Address, which reads: “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, Religion and Morality are indispensable supports.”

Will America be able to stand if we continue to try to push every shred of the Christian faith out of public life?

What do you think?

I am sure that a lot of people out there have some very strong opinions about all of this.  Please feel free to post a comment with your thoughts below…

How sad for this nation. Flying headlong into the dustbin of history– no turning back.

  • Robert Andersen

Many of us are wondering why the United States has entered through a world of chaos, with an absence of moral values, and attacks on the founding principles that we once believed in. Overall, we are putting our Father, and his son Jesus Christ away from our lives. We keep saying to ourselves that we don’t want them to part of our inner integration.

So what happened? I believe that he was polite enough to be a gentlemen and excuse himself away from us. As a result, just look around, noticing the increasing social decay within our lives.

Those that wish for the humane destruction to proceed within their evil desires and motives shall have nothing, for not anyone, anyone may acquire the infinite riches and blessings our Lord has in store. If we reject these things through our Savior, we are nothing, allowing ourselves to let evil take over us, and destroy us.

    • Nexusfast123

What drivel. However, you do have right prey to your imaginary entity but you do not have the right to pass moral judgement on others that do not believe, force others to so, or discriminate against others that have different beliefs and lifestyles. Believing in a religion does not make you a superior person.

      • Hope

You are right – we shouldn’t force others to pray or believe in God. God doesn’t want robots in His kingdom. He wants people who have made a choice to love Him and His way of life, and those He will in turn choose to rule over the nations and judge!

The Bible says “the saints will judge the world” (1 Cor. 6:2) and “every knee shall bow” to God (Rom. 14:11).

So, you continue to believe that you, yourself, are your own God. Continue to believe in society’s values, even though its decay is imminent. See if you can save yourself in the time to come! See if you can provide food when there is no food, water when there is no clean water, shelter in the cold… See if the people of this world will care for you when you are in need.

As for me, I will trust in the invisible God, because I can see His handiwork in the intricacy of nature and space around me. And I know personally the works He has done in my life. The same God, who has also given us laws and standards to judge the nations at His return. The same God, who will resurrect the dead, who didn’t know Him, and give them another chance.

          Amen Hope! Love your name.

Schools don’t have the right to pass judgment or discriminate against those that have different religions. We have the right to decide that a particular religion is our own choice.

        • Gay Veteran

Schools should not be in the religion business. That’s what churches and parents are for.

          • Notasociallist

Before prayer was taken out of the schools and public arena we did not see the depravity being forced on us by the “politically correct” dogma of accept everything as OK except God, be it rump rangers, child abusers, pedophiles etc, etc. We are directed by Christ to obey our government but NOT if it is in opposition to Him.
The Constitution protects us from a government enforced

          • Notasociallist

religion, not a government free from religion, Study the true history of England’s persecution and learn why our forefathers wrote what they did. But know what, There is coming a new false world leader and religion you will all approve. Praise the LORD that followers of Christ will not be here to see or endure it.

          • Gay Veteran

hmmmm, pedophilia still illegal. Sorry, but you don’t get to use the power of the state to impose YOUR religion on other people. Your head would explode if a Muslim or Wiccan said a prayer in school.

          • SickandTired

They do say prayers in schools… I don’t believe Christians are saying we should be able to pray and no one else. We’re just asking for equal rights. Come on!

          • Gay Veteran

who is saying prayers in schools???
prayer (silent) will always happen in schools so long as there are algebra tests

          • Rose

Well, just so you know prayers by Satanist are already happening In England’s Navy. A Satanist preacher was allowed to have an alter and mass aboard a royal navy ship, but God forbid if Christians have bibles aboard. How sick and twisted is that.

          • Gay Veteran

plese provide PROOF that christians cannot have bibles aboard ship

          • I chose the Red Pill

Yeah, those Jesus bible pushers did their jobs well throughout the Americas when time came for subjugation and purposeful genocide of indigent peoples; those bible thumpers had no problem enslaving an entire race of people and using their blessed Jesus to validate their laws and cruelty . . . . Christianity is losing ground worldwide as more and more people become educated they begin thinking for themselves and see the complete & utter bs. Christianity has NO moral standing . . . . it doesn’t matter what you say, your Christian behavior speaks volumes. I almost wish there was a God, just so I could be there to see the look on your faces when he casts your Prosperity Theology butts into that lake of fire for the shame you have brought forth in His Name. Jokes on you folks.

          • Notasociallist

All religions have made mistakes as they are governed by men and not always in the best interest of the world. That being said rest assured there is a God and His Son Jesus is coming back soon to take dominion over this earth currently under Satan’s rule. And YOU will meet him face to face as we all will to account for how we treated his son Jesus. Did you accept him as Lord or reject him as myth. He will always be my LORD GOD ALMIGHTY

          • SickandTired

Schools should be in the business of teaching our kids and letting them keep their rights! I praise Jesus for the freedom we had but it’s quickly disappearing. Good job anti-Jesus people! You guys have done an amazing job improving our country… Oh yeah, no you haven’t…

          • Gay Veteran

you haven’t lost any freedom from those who oppose the state being involved in religion

          • Denver Broncos

Satan has entered this country this world by how he is. A Liar, Murderer, Deceiver all in One. We have the brother of Hitler in the White House. Be prepared to answer to Judgment unless you repent. Jesus is the only Way to God. No religion is going to Save us.

          • Gay Veteran

oooookkkkkkk, not sure how that relates to my comment

        • Don_in_Odessa

About those schools: The Word says to bring your child in the way they should go. It does not say send them off to another man’s school and let him teach them the way they should go.
As far religion in public schools in our “free” society, I think it would be a good idea if we spend a few hours a day acknowledging everyone’s right to worship with everyone doing their praying and bending and bowing and puffing and stooping and rug rolling and incense burning and holy water spritzing and offering collection and Hail Mary (When I was a kid, I couldn’t understand why we were cussing out Mary, thought the words were “hell Mary”). In this way we could really all be fair. Then we could spend a couple hours reading all that education stuff and subtracting and adding stuff too and fake history propagandizing as well.
Or we could just not worry about what the world is doing and bring up our children in the way they go…..ourselves.

      • Dave Webb

        The right word is “pray”.
The discrimination is when anyone of any faith decides to take action against other faiths.
That includes the choice of not believing at all. No one has the right to force a belief upon you.

I find it difficult to believe that because of the militant nature of some faiths they are left alone. While Christ believers are put upon.
As for Chaplains, they walk a fine line in ministering to a multitude of different belief systems of people in the military. The three main faiths are Jewish, Protestant, and Catholic. But an up and coming one is the various beliefs of Islam. Like other diverse religious beliefs, they need their own ministers in service.
As to forbidding people to speak of anything in religious places, I feel they are completely out of line. It is just plain silly.
In history, they substituted different words for the people they were criticizing. Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. That was a king they were talking about.
So if we are forbidden to use one name, what will happen is we will substitute another name in its place, full well knowing what we mean. Like I said, the whole thing is silly.

      • Gay Veteran

        Amen.

Poor, poor, fundamentalists. So persecuted. /sarc/
Are churches being closed and shuttered? Are preachers being dragged from their pulpits? Are “evangelists” being denied the right to rake in more dough?

        • Hope

I can attest to persecution and intolerance personally. I keep the Sabbath and the Festivals in the Bible (Lev. 23). I had to leave one job as my boss would not allow me 2 days of religious leave, whilst she allowed another colleague 2 weeks holiday.

For the Feast of Tabernacles (8 days), I have to risk the fact that I may lose my job (or not have one) just to keep it, when my boss takes 3 weeks holiday a year and another colleague takes 1 month.

People are more accepting of foreign religions like Hindu, Buddhism and Islam than they are of a Sabbath/Holy Day keeping Christian.

          • Gay Veteran

That doesn’t pass the smell test. You could have easily sued since your religious rights are protected in ALL 50 states.

          • Notasociallist

You need to get your head out of the sand and see that only Islam, another false religion, is being protected in this country.

          • Gay Veteran

gee, are churches being shut down? preachers dragged from their pulpits? televangelists not ripping people off for their money?

          • Renaissance Girl

Of course churches aren’t being shut down in U.S.A.! The “churches” you’re speaking of are most likely filled with nominal Christian members and “pastors” who serve the idols of money. However, churches in other countries like Syria and China are either in hiding and/or being persecuted in the most unsavory and violent ways. Persecution in that sense will come soon to U.S.A. and I’m saddened to say that most who call themselves Christian will NOT be able to stand! And as for you, Gay Veteran, you mock and pick on Christians most likely because you hate who we serve. Sad, but true.

          • Notasociallist

Stand for Him always Renaissance Girl and He will never forsake us. Praise Him when our hour of persecution does come as the persecuted churches are among the fastest growing in the world. Even in Iran. Ironically Chinese and African missionaries want to come preach the gospel in our country as they recognize our desperate need for truth to be spread

          • Gay Veteran

darling, I don’t care what you believe so long as you don’t try to use the power of the state to impose your religion on others

          • Gay Veteran

“…The “churches” you’re speaking of are most likely filled with nominal Christian members and “pastors” who serve the idols of money….”
and of course only YOU know what is the correct version what god whats

          • Rose

What God want’s can be found in the Bible. Why don’t you try reading it .Are you denying that God exists? Go online and research near death experiences. They can’t be scientifically explained. How can all those people have similar experiences.

          • Gay Veteran

because if YOU can’t explain then it must be magic!

          • Notasociallist

You are correct. A lot of televangelists are ripping people off. TBN says they will be broadcasting onsite in Jerusalem when Christ returns. Since “true” Christians will not be on earth at that time I would be wary of the “preachers” on that station and we are warned that many false prophets will come in His name. And as far as dragging us out of churches. Give it a little more time, it will happen as we cannot proclaim homosexuality is not a sin as taught in our Bible, of which there are more ancient manuscripts than any other document in the world, Do you think that is by chance. No gay gene, no evolutionary link EVER found. Both are lies and theories of men.

          • Gay Veteran

you “christians” can preach whatever garbage you want to preach, I don’t care. I only care when you try to use the power of the state to impose your religion on other people.
And I guess you think being Gay is a choice. When did YOU choose to be a heterosexual.

          • Rose

Notasocialist is correct. There is no Gay Gene. That was just propaganda used by Kirk and Madsen in the 1980′s to sell homosexuality to the American people.
He even admits this in his book, After The Ball. He advised activist to claim they were born gay. And here is a quote from Kirk and Madsen” We argue that, for all practical purposes, gays should be considered to have been born gay……..even though, sexual orientation , for most humans, seems to be the product of a complex interaction between innate predispositions and environmental factors during childhood and early adolescence……to suggest anything else is to open the can of worms labeled ‘moral choices and sin’ “. Read After the Ball: How America Will Conquer Its Fear and Hatred of Gays in the ’90s by Kirk and Madsen. Then read Marketing of Evil by David Kuplian. People should read and educate themselves before to be sure they can back up what they are arguing about.

          • Gay Veteran

so all those homosexual animals in nature are choosing their “lifestyles”?
            ROFLOL
and interesting you’re relying on books from the 80s and 90s

        • Notasociallist

True churches will be soon persecuted and shuttered in the United States just as they are in Muslim and European countries. Just a matter of time. Why? Because following Christ is not about doing whatever you want and perverting His Word to deceive many that there are many paths to God and there is no hell. There is one path and there is a Hell, Sorry, no purgatory to pray you out of.

      • Notasociallist

Sharing the Gospel is not forcing anything on anyone. You have a choice, as you obviously have, to accept it or reject it. I’m not superior, just forgiven.

      • Renaissance Girl

You used the wrong form of “prey”. You meant pray, eh?

Nexusfast123′s post has been an example of:

        Saul Alinsky Rule #5
Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.

More specifically, “It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage.”

Generally speaking, when someone gives up on reasoning and resorts to scorn, they are giving us all a map of the contents of their mind and character. They may be attempting to project something or other onto your minds, but it actually shows what that person’s imagination has created.

Posts like those of Nexusfast123 are ironic. They capture exactly the mindset of the righteous, aggressive, zealot they imagine they are scorning. This gives away that this kind of person uses atheism as a platform for persecution. My guess is that this person isn’t an atheist by any kind of genuine conviction or reason, but merely a materialist. It just happens to be the best way to persecute those who see reality beyond the material realm.

      • Lee Robbins

It appears that you may have been exposed to some serious misconceptions. Not the least being how to spell the word “Pray”

      • GODSWIZARD

Hey Nexusfast123….be sure to tell us all how that works out for you in the end, OK?? You are right about what you say, no problem there. Oh….BTW….”Tick–Tock”, time is running down for you. Make damn sure of yourself. Have a nice day. (Insert smiling emoticon here)

      • Notasociallist

Religions have been the downfall of many good Christians because of Men’s rules, Any religion you pick, which is why denominational churches that teach the Bible and believe it says what it means and means what it says. You all have a choice to believe or disbelieve. I choose to believe. I lose nothing by believing and gain everything if I’m right. People get upset because the Bible written thousands of years ago teaches morality. And if you take the time to read you will see the consequence It for not following the precepts was destruction of civilizations. Not once but several times. Any takers? Or afraid what you might learn. Afraid you would have to give up something?. It is the followers of Christ’s to tell the gospel. If you reject we lose nothing. But if you accept it you gain everything. The only religion that tells you exactly how to get to heaven and have eternal life, Buddha does not tell you. Hindus do not tell you, Islam does not tell you, except a fantasy of 72 virgins if you blow yourself, and the only religion that says convert or die. And would a god make you come back as a dog, chicken or a bug until you are considered good enough. Or what god of thousand make believe gods do you chose. Any one you pick from the temple of ten thousand gods in Malaysia. I will believe in my “mythical”Creator of the Universe. You believe in nothing, man or yourself/ I contend it takes more faith to be an atheist and believe we are born, die and that’s all there is to it.. Sad to think we have no more purpose to exist than a rat does. The only unforgivable sin is the rejection of the Holy Spirit calling you to repent and sin no more. AND any Christian who says he no longer sins is a liar and our Bible tells us clearly that the truth is not in us.. But we have the knowledge to turn away from sin when our Holy Spirit prompts us. No argument, Just the truth.

      • ROSE

Give me a break, its you unbelievers who are forcing your will on us. No one is forcing you to believe anything. No one is passing moral judgment on you. Maybe it’s jut your own moral conscience trying to tell you something.

      • Clee White

I don’t believe in a religion. I serve a God who is very visible but only visible to those who accept Him. You can not see God because you choose to ignore the knocking on the door to your heart. A relationship with God is much different than following a man made religion. God placed a yearning for Him in your soul. Many try to fill that hole in their soul with worldly things (money, drugs, sex, etc.) that never satisfy the desire to have a relationship with God leaving one empty of joy and happiness.

Amen Robert. Those who fail to embrace Jesus as Savior and Lord embrace their own destruction by default.

“Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believed is condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son” (John 3:18).
God has intentionally ordained mankind’s current spiritual need to display His glorious grace in His Only Son. “For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that He may have mercy on them all” (Romans 11:32).

Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is LORD. On that you can bet your life.

I think we need to take a good strong look at the people we have representing us in the Congress. How do they vote on military matters?
The military requires financing just like all government has a budget that is voted in by the US Congress.
And that is who has to answer for the actions of leadership in the military is the Congress. We need hearings yesterday on this matter and the U.S. Military has to answer for their actions.
If it is coming from higher up then we need to know who is responsible and possibly impeach them from office.

The problem is ultimately they represent us. And I do not feel this kind of activity should be tolerated at all. The most important thing that can be done is expose it to the public and let us see what millions of Christians can do about removing them from office.

I have come to realise that the Ten Commandments were logically sound as God’s Ten Point plan for enforcing a civilized society through social contracting. If you abandon these tenets, the chaos we are witnessing ensues.

As an aside, David Cameron, the British Prime MInister, has been accused of being anti-Christian. After all, you have to get rid of the Christians before you can progress a globallist dictatorial agenda. If they don’t leave me the f*ck alone, I’ll make sure I live long enough to bury all of them. I don’t accept their BS pseudo-rules and I’m sick and tired of their narcissism.

        You aint seen nothing yet!!!

Just wait till islam gains more of a political influence in America.

You think Christianity is out to “oppress and dominate others” and you actually think Christianity is “dominating and oppressing” you in this nation? WOW! Maybe it is because you don’t like what Christianity has to say about homosexuality, eh. Ah, I suspect this is the real reason you view Christianity as “oppressive and dominant”? You don’t like what it has to say about you supposed lifestyle. You refuse to admit that there ARE moral absolutes and those absolutes were given by a creator God.

Like I said, wait till aspects of sharia law creep into our system, then, you will truly know what “domination and oppression” truly is. Islam despises homosexuality, and will actually imprison you for practicing it, (in a sharia law nation)

To call Christianity in America ” dominant and oppressive” is laughable at most.

“Will America be able to stand if we continue to try to push every shred of the Christian faith out of public life?”

In short, no. Effectively, political correctness is specifically designed to destroy the First Amendment as well as act in both censorship and limiting expression and free-flow of ideas. Granted, every religion/faith I’m aware of possesses elements of this aspect dating as far back as an era in which leaders were allied or were his/her self a religious leader designed to use as many tools used to garner support for a particular ambition of the leadership at the time, which is also the central underpinning to the viewpoint and confusion between forcing one’s religion or seeking converts that is not the same thing.

    “What do you think?”

Well, the most obvious is the erosion of the First Amendment. The free flow of ideas no matter how offensive or agreeable regardless of topic or issue is central to being inventive/innovative as well as not a direct violation of another person’s civil rights. Hurt emotions are readily available that creates the opportune environment to destroy everyone’s civil rights and transition them into privileges. The next most obvious is that civil rights or rights, liberties, and freedoms are nature born much like one’s property begins with one’s body in which the fruits of one’s labors requires compensation and offer the opportunity to accumulate wealth. By removing extra-governmental understandings, it subconsciously and consciously encourages the authoritarian/totalitarian/despotic transition of most recently Bismarkianism or Elitist or Globalist interests. The principle desire is to encourage not only support for the official announcement of governmental-private industries’ mergers but also the formation of a society closer to that of North Korea, Iran, and a number of other governments.

    • Gay Veteran

the problem is that some of you people want to use the power of the state to impose your religion on everybody else. guess what, you can’t do that

“A 2009 Dept. of Homeland Security memorandum that identified future threats to national security coming from Evangelicals and pro-life groups.”

There is some truth to this one. What will the king and his followers do when they meet a prophet, “chosen man”, sent by the Lord Jesus Himself to pronounce God’s judgment on America?

    SHAKE, FEAR, AND TREMBLE!

We need to remember that the LORD God is holy, righteous, and just and He does not change. He does nothing in secret until He reveals it to His servants the prophets. For example, He sent His prophet Jeremiah to the Kingdom of Judah before He brought His judgment on it for turning away from Him just as the Kingdom of Israel had done. Many did not believe Jeremiah, but he prophesied the truth and the judgment came.

If Judah, Israel, and the Jews were/are His and He punished them, why would He turn His judgment away from America which claims to be a Christian nation (the most Christian nation in the world) but has turned away from Him? After all…HE DOES NOT CHANGE! Remember, judgment begins at the house of God.

1 Peter 4:17 (NKJV) – “For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?”

    Jeremiah 50:43-46 (NKJV) -
“43 “The king of Babylon has heard the report about them,
    And his hands grow feeble;
Anguish has taken hold of him,
Pangs as of a woman in childbirth.
44 “Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the floodplain of the Jordan
    Against the dwelling place of the strong;
But I will make them suddenly run away from her.
And who is a chosen man that I may appoint over her?
    For who is like Me?
    Who will arraign Me?
    And who is that shepherd
    Who will withstand Me?”
45 Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD that He has taken against Babylon,
And His purposes that He has proposed against the land of the Chaldeans:
    Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out;
Surely He will make their dwelling place desolate with them.
46 At the noise of the taking of Babylon
    The earth trembles,
And the cry is heard among the nations.”

The “chosen man” is the prophet. This Babylon (a.k.a. Babylon the Great) is America. The king is the current king. (NOTE: Jeremiah 50-51 and Revelation 17-18 are parallel and speak of the same prophecy. It is important to remember that our Jewish brethren who have not accepted Christ yet don’t read New Testament but they see some of the same prophecies in the Old that we see in the New.)
HERE IS A SIGN: The prophet will be arrested (“Who will arraign me?”) before he pronounces the Father’s just judgment on America. He will stand before her peoples. leaders, and king and say, “You have done evil in the sight of the LORD!”
    THEN A FIERY JUDGMENT COMES!
Awaken and arise dear children of God!

My Hebrew name is John. My mother’s Hebrew name is Elizabeth. I was born on the 24th of December in 1967 which is the year that Israel captured the Temple Mount. The road that I was born on is Whirlwind Road (Zip Code 37743). My mother’s maiden name is Malone from the Irish “Mael Eòin”, of which the name means a servant or a disciple of Saint John. You can see the lion on the family crest at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malone. Mael means “chief, prince”, and Eoin means “John”.

Why am I telling you this? See! The Lord Jesus appeared to me and said “Arise!” and showed me the scar on His left hand from which judgment comes.

The unfulfilled prophecy of Zerubbabel will be fulfilled. The name “Zerubbabel” means “sown of Babylon” or “seed of Babylon” referring to a child born conceived and born in Babylon. What is this child’s name? Let the Word speak for Itself by asking you a couple of questions.

    1) Why is it a man named “Zerubbabel” in Zechariah 4:9-10 who holds a measuring line for the temple yet it is a man named “John” in Revelation 11:1-2 who holds a measuring line for the temple?
    2) Why is it a man named “Zerubbabel” in Haggai 2:20-23 who is given authority before kings yet it is a man named “John” in Revelation 10:11 who is given authority before kings?
    3) Why is it that a man named “Zerubbabel” is the only name mentioned in Zechariah 4 where the two olive trees are spoken of but yet it is a man named “John” who is the only name mentioned in Revelation 11 where the two olive trees (two witnesses) are spoken of?

The name of the child is John! He was to be HIDDEN until the time came to PREPARE and RESTORE (read Isaiah 49). Remember the prophecy concerning Zerubbabel IN THAT DAY: He is to be given a CROWN and great authority to CONQUER! Our Lord Jesus Christ sits at the right hand of the Father waiting for restoration and for His enemies to be made into His footstool!

    Isaiah 49:1-2 (NKJV) –
    “Listen, O coastlands, to Me,
And take heed, you peoples from afar!
    The LORD has called Me from the womb;
From the matrix of My mother He has made mention of My name.
    2 And He has made My mouth like a sharp sword;
In the shadow of His hand He has hidden Me,
    And made Me a polished shaft;
In His quiver He has hidden Me.”

    My name is John.

Some of you will not believe me and ridicule me. I expect that for the children today are no different than their forefathers of yesterday. There is a spirit of disbelief in the air and the father of the air, Satan, is angry for he knows his time is short! Choose this day which father you will follow! As for me, I stand by my Father, my God, my Lord!

Daniel 10:13 (NKJV) – “But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia.”

Daniel 12:1 (NKJV) – “At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book.”
    M…ich…ael
Awaken and arise dear children of God!

The Day of the LORD is at hand!

We really can’t blame the Muslims for this because they have zero political influence in this country (most simply keep their heads down so things won’t be any worse for them) and no Muslim would have the name Weinstein.

LTG Boykin, quoted in the article, is an absolute maniac. His wife left him because even she couldn’t take his religious extremism anymore. Look him up in Wikipedia and you’ll find out what this wonderful Christian man did two decades ago: “In April 1993, he helped advise Attorney General Janet Reno regarding the stand-off at Waco, Texas, between the Federal Government and the Branch Davidians.” You know how that turned out.

As for Ike’s comment about no atheists in foxholes, the reality is that there’s hardly any religion on a battlefield, given the barbaric acts that take place there. If you have any doubts, pick up a copy of “Kill Anything That Moves: The Real American War in Vietnam” by Nick Turse. Atrocities, rapes, industrial-scale slaughter as a matter of policy, killing for amusement, mutilation of the living and the dead, murdering women and children, etc., it’s all there. It’s not so much a war book as it is a horror story. A friend who was in the 101st Airborne Division (Airmobile) in 1969 wrote: “I wonder how many murders of civilians went on in Vietnam and in other wars? I have a bad memory, as I have said, and it is really bad where Vietnam is concerned, but I can clearly remember four separate murders of civilians, one of them a woman. I’ve also witnessed torture and killing of suspected VC. It’s really scary thinking about it. One of the things I learned in Vietnam is that we Americans are no better than anybody else, no worse but no better. There are a lot of naive people here that think we are and will probably die thinking that.”

  • jaxon64

Michael, from an eschatological stand point- we knew this was coming. As Americans, these points of ” being persecuted for Christ’s namesake”..are quite mild compared to Christians worldwide and throughout history.

Most of the Catholic inquisitory actions and tortures were against Christians who wanted access to the truths of the Bible and unfiltered through Catholicisms dogma.

Currently in Nigeria, Boko Harem and other marauders are macheteing whole villages of Christian men, women, children….in Iran, Saudi Arabia etc..Christianity is a crime punishable by death…In Egypy, Coptic christians face severe issues from the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Quada …currently, Obama is funding and arming the Muslim Brotherhood in Syria who are actively slaughtering Christians in Syria and Lebanon…in China Christians cannot publicly meet ( although there are millions converting to Christianity in “home groups”–same thing in N Korea)…all through the Islamic world, we forget that Christianity is still present and at great cost to God’s children. In India, both hindu and muslim factions persecute and discriminate against Christians..in Pakistan, Christian women are often raped, beaten and tortured–yet they still refuse to deny Christ as their saviour–often at forfeit of their lives.

Christians in the western world are mostly mocked and scoffed at– but we were told that “in the end times will come scoffers and mockers”…these fools who post their hatred and intolerance of the Truth only prove the Truth of prophetic words written thousands of years ago and coming to fruition in our age.

I think a bigger threat to Christianity in America than the small % of militant God haters– is the apostate church. The insidious New Age movements and eastern mysticisms which dilute or replace sound doctrine are myriad from the pope proclaiming, “all good people go to heaven” or the Brian McLaren’s, The Shack book, “christian” yoga, name it proclaim it folks, Word of faith junk, prosperity preachers…and on and on…

2 Timothy 4:3-4—-For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the Truth and turn aside to myths………

PS: Michael, you are a prolific writer on these websites. I don’t know where you get the time or energy but I thought of you and this verse as I was replying to this thread…visit Galatians 6:9..and God bless and keep you and your family..

But even more shameful is the fact that there’s evidence that the law may have come about with the support and encouragement of United States congressmen and fundamentalists….”

      • jaxon64

Laws like this are already in place in many, many Muslim nations–where homosexuality–as ordered bny the Koran–is punishable by death.
Some references also would be nice from your above “cut and paste” post–and please–make it something other than a gay advocacy blog/website…thanks.
As a Christian, I would also like to also assist as I may to keep such a horrible and un-biblical practice such as you report in Uganda from happening–and especially out anyone who would purport to be doing this in the name of Christianity. I apologize for misreading what you wrote. And the only people I hate are those who try to use the power of the state to impose their religious views on others.

you mean just as you would use the power of the state to change the definition of marriage from a man and a woman as it has been for millenia–in both religious and secular society.
You don’t want equal rights–you can have all of the legal commitments and private relations that your heart desires–that is your God given right to choose–but what you want is to CHANGE the definition of the Holy Matrimony and institution of marriage to justify your lifestyles.
Admit it just once–if you were given 100% equality ( in many ways you are given special priveliged status) but if you were given 100% of the rights of a man and woman who are married–but told you had to call it by a different name or word–you’d never take it…

          • Gay Veteran

and sorry, but getting a marriage license from the STATE is not changing holy matrimony (you want that then get married in a church)

and how hae gays been “…given special priveliged status….”
sorry, but you would not accept marriage if you had to call it something else

Amen, Jaxon64. The Body of Christ is called to be salt and light in a rotting and darkened world. In the world, but not of the world. But we are far from what we could be and should be.
When meat is left out over night it has no choice but to go bad. That’s the nature of things. One doesn’t blame the meat for going bad. Rather, we ask, where’s the salt? Where’s the preservative? So also in a spiritually decaying world, we shouldn’t blame lost sinners for acting like lost sinners. We should ask where’s the salt? Where’s the light? Where’s the positive life-changing influence?
Often the answer is: it’s been compromised, succumbed to intimidation, misled, self-absorbed, or asleep.
“As the Father has sent Me, I am sending send you” (John 20:21).

Some of your examples are pathetic:

“,,,chaplains all over America are being forbidden from using His name in their prayers….”

Is that true in ALL settings? OR is it limited to ecumenical settings?

“…The Ohio Statehouse banned Christian pastors from using the name of Jesus when they open up the daily sessions with prayer….”

you people would squeal like stuck pigs if a Wiccan said a prayer before a state legislature

“…A teacher in New Jersey was fired for giving his own Bible to a student that did not own one….”

a teacher is in a position of authority, and has NO business handing out bibles to their students

“…Volunteer chaplains for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have been banned from using the name of Jesus in their public prayers. Sadly, this is not an isolated incident. Chaplains all over the nation are now being banned from using the name of Jesus….”

these are ECUMENICAL settings, not sectarian meetings

“…A public school official prevented a student from handing out flyers inviting her classmates to an event at her church….”

perfectly legal to do so OUTSIDE school, not in school

“…Tingley said Air Force leaders “must avoid the actual or apparent use of their position to promote their personal religious beliefs to their subordinates or to extend preferential treatment for any religion.”….”

    what’s the problem?!?!?!?

“…Bowing to a complaint from a religious watchdog group, the Pentagon will no longer give consent for a publisher to use the official emblems of the military services on a line of Bibles sold on base exchanges….”

gee, maybe because it gives the impression that the military is endorsing a particular religion? WHAT would your response be if the Pentabon gave consent for a publisher to use the official emblems of the military services on a line of WICCAN Bibles sold on base exchanges???????

Mikey Weinstein? Isn’t he fighting the Air Force Academy for allowing students to be coerced into being Christians?

“…Graham said Islam “is a very evil and wicked religion.”…”

gee, wonder why he got disinvited from an ecumenical meeting?

    Boykin? you mean this one:

“…Almost ten years ago, when Boykin was still on active duty, he generated criticism for public comments, given while he was in uniform, indicating that he saw U.S. military engagement in religious terms, as “our God” (Christian) vs. Satan or the “idol” God he said was worshipped by Muslims. It was widely feared that such comments could endanger U.S. troops. Boykin was criticized publicly by then-President George W. Bush and in a 2004 report by the Pentagon’s inspector general; critics worried that his remarks could put servicemembers’ lives in jeopardy by suggesting that the American military saw regional conflicts in religious terms….”

It is the 1st Amendment that allows haters like this to spew his anti-Christian HATE speech. That’s exactly what he is doing in my opinion, calling a group “human monsters” …..really??? Because they believe in someone who could and has transform millions in positive ways.

I wonder if Nicky Cruz thinks David Wilkerson was a “human monster” for sharing and preaching JESUS CHRIST to him??

If you all have now clue what I am talking about, check it out, you can refer o a movie called ” The Cross And The Switchblade” to find out more.

I would not call the person a “human monster” who spoke with me 25 years ago about sin, righteousness and the foregiveness that is in the Lord Jesus Christ. If not for that moment, I would most likely be in jail today or dead.

But praise God for the transforming power of the GOSPEL of JESUS CHRIST!!!!

So, I will defiantly not apologize at all for my Jesus if he offends you Mr. Weinstein. And to say that Jesus, The Gospel, and even the New Testament is against the Constitution, well Mr. Weinstein, I advise you read up more on the Founders, and how the newly created Republic was influenced by Christianity in many facets of society.

I have to confess, I am a little angry at such nonsense, and such people who have such tunnel vision towards Jesus and Christians that they are totally oblivious to the islamification of America for example, and the dangers of sharia law and are also oblivious as to the actual teaching of islam in the Quran and hadiths regarding how anti-islams and/or people who refuse islam are to be treated.

JESUS predicted a time like this ad it should really not surprise any Christians, as this world hates Jesus and his followers, and persecution is to be expected. But take care, and be strong, because “There is no Name under Heaven in which man may be saved” Only by this hated Name of Jesus, can you be saved.

” I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man comes to the father except through me” John 14:6

My relatives keep talking about a future persecution against Christians prior the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but the way I see things nowadays, that persecution is here already in its early stages. It is going to gradually become much worse. We are living in amazing times when we can die martyrs for our GOD. BE STEADFAST IN YOUR FAITH. DO NOT FORSAKE YOUR CHRISTIAN VALUES NO MATTER WHAT!!!

    • Renaissance Girl

      Yup, you got it, Magdiel.

  • Greg B

America became great BECAUSE of our collective Christian principles. It only stands to reason, if you wish to eliminate our blessings and potency…..then eliminate the Christian influence.

    • Gay Veteran

America was great because we learned from the Age of Reason and the Enlightenment

HBO Aired on SUNDAY October 25 2009 an episode of “Curb Your
Enthusiasm.” Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld were in a skit trashing
    Christianity, particularly Catholics.

David urinates on a picture of Jesus Christ, and it gets worse from
there. HBO laughed off complaints from Christians.

    • WM

I wonder if the Founding Fathers would agree that Hells Best Offer or HBO would be exercising its 1st Amendment right to show such excrement for public view????
I would like to see them do the same to a copy of the quuarn or a picture of Muhammad and sit back and watch the outcry and violence that would follow.
Christians are saddened by this, but we will not start rioting or making death threats to HBO.
Anyone who says they are Christian, should boycott HBO and anything or anybody associated with it, period!
Father forgive them, for they have no comprehension of the trouble they are causing their souls on judgment day. May they be awakened and repent while there is still time.
This Jesus that they mock, is coming again, and he is coming on a white horse, to tread the winepress of Gods judgement on this earth, and then they will realize that this “skit” that they created, was a HUGE mistake.

JESUS IS LORD. If you have a problem with what I’ve written take it up with Him. You will eventually meet Him. Hopefully you will be one of His.

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” (2 Timothy 3:1-5)
brothers,. And sisters I think we may be living in the last days

  • Gay Veteran

    self-pity much?

    • Notasociallist

No self pity for me. Only pity for lost souls like you and millions of others like you. Try reading a Bible with an ear to listen. Might be surprised what it has to say to you.

      • Gay Veteran

and you can read The Age of Reason by Thomas Paine

The best cure for Christianity is reading The Bible. Mark Twain.

  • mijj

Christian behavior is scorned, ridiculed and prosecuted. So, it seems inevitable that the mere mention of the J word (which might induce a sense of morality) would be anathema.

This is the reason the people will perish , lack of knowledge ! Since you are too P. C. yourself and afraid to post my comments , Delete my precious posting ! Now look in the mirror and know yourself !

  • Notasociallist

Gay Veteran. I’ve read Thomas Paine and the Humanist Manifest and none of mankind will ever have the right answer. Now if all gays would reproduce without the help of a sperm or an egg from the opposite sex you would all die out. But since sin is sin, and you can’t yhis nation wil face judgement just as Rome, Sodom and Gomorrah and those that perished in the flood. Must certainly have struck a nerve somewhere that you keep responding.

    • Gay Veteran

      Religion exists for 2 reasons:
      (1) man fears death,
      (2) as a means of social control (obey the king or you’ll go to hell)

  • HerrinSchadenfreude

I am a Wiccan. Not the first sort of person you would expect to see on here holding the views I do on this situation.

Be that as it may, let me go on record as saying quite firmly that this politically correct gestapo action against those practicing Christianity is as wrong as anything forced in the past on people by those who practiced Christianity.

I am well aware of history, including the historical treatment of those who practiced my own faith. And it is with that awareness that I speculate openly about how long it will be before atheists begin their own version of the Burning Times with Christians in the place of witches.

In my view it is not a matter of if, but when.

Wowww Totally amazing that 30 years ago in Russia(Then Soviet Union)you’ll have your eyes poked out and you had secretly give bibles to the Russians and in America the name of my Lord and Saviour was welcomed.
    But
Now in America the name of Jesus Christ is Dirty Word.
    While
In Russia they love the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
P.S a little side note where are radicals today, you know the Neo-hippies.
*The Banksters are getting Bailed-out so they don’t have to re-invest the money in the economy.
*The US Military is murdering and butchering innocent Men,Women and Children in more Vietnams(Iraqi,Afghanistan, soon Syria and Iran in the Middle-east for Israel) than the 60′s.
*Monsanto is poisoning our Food Supply.
I was at this one Hippie fest and i’d never even heard a mention of those afore mentioned things above.
All I heard was Legalize Marijuana(Which i’m for) and stupid free love lectures.
    But
None of the important issues like the young people in the 60′s were into.

Isaiah30 says it all. The harbinger has told the truth of what happens to a country who turns away from GOD. I believe the time is running and we need to stand up for what GOD says is right and the unbelievers and scoffers will make there own choices. Jesus clearly said that there is no other way to heaven and GOD but through belief in his death and resurrection. Repenting of our sins by asking forgiveness and trusting him to change us from the outside in.

“An open air preacher in Illinois was recently threatened with arrest for “scaring people” with the message of the gospel.”

Disgusting that our administration can honor allah, but bad mouth or omit GOD and JESUS CHRIST our LORD and SAVIOR.
This just proves that satan and his entourage are in control and running this crime infested and corrupt world in which we live.

Um, I live in Europe and they are not being persecuted and shuttered here. The independent churches, Baptist, and pentecostal churches are doing fine. The state-run churches are closing because of lack of interest.
