How Can We Celebrate Our Independence When Most Americans Are Willingly Enslaved To The Matrix?

The Matrix - Public DomainDid you know that the average U.S. adult consumes 10 hours and 39 minutes of media a day?  Nielsen has just released brand new numbers on the media consumption patterns of Americans, and they are absolutely staggering.  According to Nielsen, the amount of media that we consume per day has increased by an hour just since the first quarter of 2015.  This is the time of the year when we celebrate our independence, but how in the world can we ever be truly independent when most of us are willingly plugging ourselves into “the Matrix” for more than 10 hours a day?  If you feed anything into your mind for hours every day, it is going to change the way that you think, the way that you feel about things, and the way that you view the world.  This endless barrage of “news” and “entertainment” has fundamentally altered the belief systems of tens of millions of Americans, and this has very serious implications for our society moving forward.

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, brainwashing is “a forcible indoctrination to induce someone to give up basic political, social, or religious beliefs and attitudes and to accept contrasting regimented ideas”.  But nobody is forcing us to plug into “the Matrix” every day.  Instead, this is something that we are willingly doing to ourselves.  In fact, Nielsen says that Americans are doing it more than ever before

If you feel like you’re spending more time than ever before watching and streaming content, you’re right.

U.S. adults spent 10 hours, 39 minutes a day consuming media in the first quarter of 2016. That’s up a full hour from the first quarter of 2015, and it’s thanks to a substantial increase in smartphone and tablet usage, according to Nielsen’s Q1 2016 Total Audience Report.

Here is how the 10 hours and 39 minutes breaks down by type of device…

Live TV: 4 hours, 31 minutes
Time-Shifted TV: 33 minutes
Radio: 1 hour, 52 minutes
DVDs: 8 minutes
Video Game Consoles: 14 minutes
Multimedia Devices (Apple TV, Roku, etc.): 13 minutes
Internet on PC: 58 minutes
Smartphone: 1 hour, 39 minutes
Tablet: 31 minutes

These days, there is a lot of talk about various “agendas” that are being advanced in our country.

Well, just about whatever “agenda” you want to talk about, the main way it is being advanced is through these devices.  Our televisions, our radios, our DVD players and even our computers are constantly telling us what to think, and this has resulted in a population of brainwashed “sheeple” that is more closely resembling a horde of mindless zombies with each passing year.

Who do you think controls the vast majority of the “news” and “entertainment” that we consume?  As I wrote about just recently, more than 90 percent of what we get through our televisions is controlled by just six giant media corporations, and in turn they are controlled by the elite of the world.

Do you really want the elite telling you what to think?

And the Internet has become highly controlled as well.  Fortunately there are still many independent websites such as this one where you can hear an alternative point of view, but increasingly web traffic is coming to be dominated by just a handful of giant companies.

This is of great concern when it comes to our young people, because they are spending an enormous amount of time on the Internet

The majority of Americans – 73 percent – indicated that they go online on a daily basis, and many go on several times per day.

A Pew Research Center survey collected data from internet users between June and July 2015, and confirmed that Americans are constantly logging in.

Young people are the most connected; the study found that 36 percent of people ages 18 to 29 are online almost constantly, and 50 per cent go on several times per day.

It has been estimated that there are 54,907 Google searches, 7,252 tweets written, 125,406 YouTube videos viewed and 2,501,018 emails sent out every second.

So what is all of this “information” doing to us?

Dr Lee Hadlington of De Montford University Leicester has made some troubling discoveries regarding this excessive Internet use…

He found the more times a person used the internet or a mobile phone the more likely they were to experience ‘cognitive failures’.

These failures included not turning up to appointments, having trouble paying attention while in conversation and forgetting why they went to one part of the house to another.

‘This is a very under-examined area and a very important one. We are using technology on a daily basis but we don’t understand its effect on us,’ said Dr Hadlington.

Of much greater importance is what this endless barrage of information is doing to our belief systems.  We are willingly enslaving ourselves to a “matrix” that is deeply anti-Christian, and it was inevitable that this would result in the decaying of the Christian foundations of the western world.  The following is an excerpt from an absolutely outstanding article that was just published by Jonathon Van Maren

And yet, the Judeo-Christian foundations of the West that brought such success and such prosperity have either been removed or are in the final stages of demolition. The sanctity of life is gone, but most of us have not noticed simply because we do not toss the corpses of the murdered out the front door into the street, but quietly deposit them in dumpsters behind clinics or vaporize them in modern, up-to-date incinerators. New ideologies have taken over our legal systems, and the short march to labelling Holy Scripture as Hate Speech has already begun. The number of citizens who still attend church or are even aware that Christianity was the life-blood of our civilization is plummeting.

Things may be peaceful for the moment, but the dark clouds in the distance bulge with thunder and the rumblings have already begun: Christian universities are told they are ineligible to start a law school because they believe what Christians have always believed, Christian medical professionals are told they will be forced to refer patients for killing, and Christian professionals are subjected to “formal investigations” at the slightest hint that they have violated the new secular religion. This is just the calm before the storm, but because Christians are so distracted with the high drama of ordinary day-to-day life, they may not hear the rumblings until thunder splits the sky.

As I warn in my new book, America is really starting to feel the consequences of decades of walking away from the Christian faith.

But how are we going to turn this around?

Many of the exact same people that are expressing dismay over all of this are the exact same people that turn their televisions on as soon as they get home and don’t turn them off until they go to sleep at night.

As long as we all remain willingly plugged into “the Matrix”, we are fighting a losing battle, and that is just the way that it is.

First, why would celebrate Independence Day in our police state? That just shows how mindless people are. I also agree that people are controlled. People are enslaved by technology. 1984 is upon us.

    • Lazarovic

      I support the State police.

  • James Dohnalek

It will not be independence for long when martial law is imposed this year. Trying to stay away from the military killing fields or aka FEMA camps with all of those 100 million plastic coffins, which fit 5 corpses to a coffin.

    • kfilly

People might have to fix things I break. Should be plenty to do. I can be kind of accident prone.

    • Paul Patriot

I would rather die fighting anyone coming to take me to a camp, than to sheepishly allow myself to be a slave, where you will most likely be tortured and eventually get murdered.

      Live free or die!

    • Jarred Page

300 million people in the United States, 100 million “coffins” for 5 people each? Seems like those 15 yeat old videos are either wrong or the most powerful and intelligent government on the planet thought there would be a whole lot more people in 2016. The only people that would find themselves in a fema camp are the ones who act like complete idiots during a national emergency, truthfully, that’s a good thing. We don’t need half the population acting like fools while our government tries to get things back in line.

  • Rhialto the Marvellous

Nobody’s independent, even off-the-grid homesteaders. That’s just the way it is.
The main thing is to stay aware and alert. Things are starting to roll quickly now. The time’s coming when you’ll have to make a stand for what you believe – to either reject the world system or roll over and submit to it.

    Stay in the Word.

Enjoy the 4th, it may be our last. Also put down the computers and pick up a Bible, problem solved.

    • Says the guy commenting on this website. lol

We need internet more than ever to stay up to date on the encroaching GMO death. Depending on the species of GMO and how much is consumed it can kill in as little as 1 day!! Watch Genetic Roulette.
The reason we don’t see people dropping is because so far only a small percentage of our diet is GMO. As the percentage slowly increases health problems & death also slowly increase.

For an example lets say every food on Earth suddenly became GMO. The last human would be dead probably in under 1 month, with most dead within days or weeks (the animals on the video that stuffed themselves with GMO cotton died in 1 day(s)). Humans eat a variety so death could take more time.

Needless to say Bill Gates is funding Monsanto.

      • Philip Sieve

It’s a catch 22. At least watch as much anti-mefia message programs. Program yourself. Don’t let them do it. If it bypasses the left side of the brain, let the feelings be for good. Ultimately, the media might be the message and they’ve got us by the you know whats.

    • Jim Davis

You can read the Bible on a computer. This isn’t going to be the last 4th that’s simply baseless, alarmist nonsense. And why don’t YOU put down the computer?

Cast out first the beam out of thine own eye…

      • Brian

Jimmy- I’m all about building people up not tearing them down. Have a great 4th, it may be our last.

“the Judeo-Christian foundations of the West that brought such success and such prosperity”
Wasn’t the success/prosperity because of the abundant natural resources that America had and then the bankers first started clamping down on us in 1913 with “federal reserve” and IRS?

Shhhh some peopel don´t know that the ancient Greeks and Romans existed.

I am making a very conscious effort to push myself away from electronics. It is an addiction, Michael, it really is. I canceled my cable recently, bought a Roku stick and signed up for Netflix. I watch what I want to, I watch less than I used to, and I saved some money. I even find myself turning off the radio in the car because I don’t want to hear the advertisements anymore. The more I push myself away, the better I feel. At the moment I’m having some difficulty figuring out what to do instead, but I have been reading more and writing in a journal and just enjoying nature. I’m also attempting to be more social, which has always been a weak point for me.

I’m a cashier at a busy place, and it makes me sad when people come through my line and all I see sometimes is a line of people staring into their phones or talking on them. Some of them never say a word to me because they are too busy with their phone. If we are to survive the coming years, we need to have face-to-face connections and real friendships and relationships. Technology is a blessing and a curse and controlling how I use it (and not letting it destroy me) is one of the greatest challenges I have ever faced. God bless you, keep fighting the good fight.

    • uncharted 4

Maybe they get bored waiting in line.

    • jaxon64

I also cancelled my cable–got a Roku and I have Hulu for $10 a month. Now I actually have more channels, premium movies and at 1/5th the cost.
I actually enjoy just listening to playlists on the Hulu- Pandora stream while I do activities around the house.
Days go by between times that anyone in our home turns a television on–only took a few days to de-condition ourselves.

      • Jacynthia Read

        Same here.

    • Paul Patriot

Excellent. Glad to hear other folks didn’t die when they gave up tv,lol!
Seriously, the only tv I watch is an occasional Andy Griffith, and an occasional western from the 1950’s, with an occasional Elvis movie thrown in. Other than that I have been reading kindle books on politics, end times (of course Michael’s book) and the only internet is Michaels sites and a handful of Christian, end times prophecy sites and conservative news sites.

My life has been much more fulfilled since I limit/eliminate tv and movies.

The young people I work with seems like they cannot go 5 minutes with out texting……and their interpersonal and communicative skills are all but non existent.

      • danbax

I’ll send you some Sanford and son dvds…. every tv show these days has to slip in the gay agenda as well. i was trying to watch comic book shows and they slip in gay characters…. really?!

    • kicp

There’s tons of people who could never afford stuff like computer phones. Otherwise you’d see a lot more looking at them.

    • Aisotrcbifst

you could still go online and listen to Audiobooks on Youtube.
Some online radio programmes are good as well, just search for music you like, and there’s bound to be an Internet radio that streams music for free and without adverts.

  • It’s too late, I already took the blue pill.

  • DJohn1

Very good article! As a retired printer and ad builder I have noticed “editorial” for many years and their ability to spoon feed us the only news they want us to hear.
At first it was only the wire services. It has gotten much worst than just the spoon fed news.
Then I noticed short and silly advertisements on the television. Only someone was willing to pay to have them on TV 6 times in an hour or more.
Those things cost a lot of money both to produce and to broadcast. So why the silly ads?
I believe they contain subliminal suggestions that are re-enforced so many times to ingrain them into people’s subconscious minds. In turn, when you make a market decision at your local stores these suggestions make you uncomfortable choosing something other than the product they have suggested.
The key here is to “think” consciously about what you are doing.
    No one is immune.
I find myself close to being in a trance when watching some programs.
    They are that intense.
I first noticed this when I recorded a show for later viewing.
When the commercial comes on I fast forward to the re-entry of the show. Only It takes me a moment or two to disengage my mind from the show. So at least one commercial gets viewed whether I want it or not. That is mind manipulation. Pure and simple.
Then there is the addiction factor. That too plays a part.
Politicians are also using this form of advertising and that is serious.
The politician who comes across as strongest is most likely to get the vote you provide. Noticed this with Obama, Bush, Clinton, etc.
It goes back quite a few years.
    Image being everything.
Near as I can tell, these same politicians are bought and paid for by corporate interests.
Does not matter whether or not they are Democrat, Republican or Independent.
We have a Supreme Court with questionable values also.
Are they bought and paid for? Appears to be so by their judging.
It is all about percentages. Even if 6%(number out of thin air) are immune to this kind of manipulation, the majority of people are not immune.

  • TheLulzWarrior

Because the globalists and their evil schemes shall fail,
even now they grow increasingly desperate as their new world order is falling appart!

Have faith in this at least, while many millions may die, there will be another 1776 and the evil responsibles will suffer the ultimate punishment for their hideous crimes!
America shall survival the great trials, indeed its darkest hour and it shall be made Great Again!

    The Fire Rise!

    • Paul Patriot

Hate to sound so negative, but, this nation is morally and spiritually almost at the point of return. I would suggest you read the Bible prophecies (promises) that a one world government is coming very soon, and for that to happen, America will have to lose its sovereignty and its Constitution.

It’s coming, no matter how much we hope America will be restored to its previous glory days, that’s not going to happen

Best to prepare now for hard times and get to know, AND be known by the Lord Jesus Christ while their is still time.

      • Name

This coming from a goat-herder populace to whom “The World” was basically the middle-east and flat, laying on pillars. “We are the choosen people by God” according to the book their priests, not God, ripped off from others peoples. Josuah redeemed the faith but what was before him, the ancient testament, was no longer the Word of God but the worst of heresies at the time.

“But how are we going to turn this around?

As long as we all remain willingly plugged into “the Matrix”, we are fighting a losing battle, and that is just the way that it is.”

I really don’t know what you are saying Michael. Turn what around? Fallen man?

I grew up in the TV age when we ate dinner in front of Walter Cronkite and the 6:00 news every night. Any attempt to talk much was silenced by a shhh!

Yes, now we have people glazed into their smart phones, even while crossing streets. At least they are communicating in some way with ideas, messaging from loved ones or friends. While it may be different and not the way you would like it to be, what’s really wrong with it?

Society is in turmoil right now around the world because people are awakening to the death throws of tyranny around them and are out protesting or voting themselves out (Brexit). In the US, the old guard is losing out to beginnings of activism of people.

Plugged into the Matrix?? Nothing new under the sun, Michael. Plugged into TV or a cell phone. Choice here, I will take the cell phone. A technical marvel that can bring you news, entertainment, messages from loved ones and connectivity. Not all bad here, and perhaps more good than bad.

I will look at a place like North Korea and celebrate our freedom. I will look at our Blessed Lord hanging on the cross for our redemption and celebrate our freedom and everlasting life with Him.

  • michael malachi

Throw out the tv. Turn off the radio. smash the smart phone. Limit the computer to productive uses only.
I did. It was hard at first but now I could not go back. I have no tv, no radio, no phone and limit internet to a few trusted sites and research. You can do it, You will not regret it. God Bless You.

    • seuss

Smash the phone so that when you’re out hiking and the car breaks down you can’t call a tow truck!

  • Robert

I do not get this article at all. I well recall when there were just a few newspapers which were no better than today. There were three tv networks and depending on your antenna you might get one station clearly. I think Michael is wrong on his matrix comparison. The internet has opened up the world. There was no Brexit or Drudge Report or Rush Limbaugh etc. You got Chronkite and the voice and opinion of one man whose word you had to take because there were no other voices. Michael sees things from his generation point of view. We are awash in information and I for one think it is great.

    • chevy fan

Rush Limbaugh is mostly MSM news. Otherwise I agree with you.

If we had internet back in the day events like Waco might not have turned out how it did. Back then the elite controlled all the “news.”

    • charlie

The internet can be a tool for enslavement or deprogramming. Every tool can be used for both. You must decide how you wish to use the knowledge you have been given. Do you continue to believe the lies you were taught by your parents, teachers, preachers and government, or do you research for yourself – both sides and make an informed choice?

Most will choose the latter and decide not to question and learn the truth. It can be painful to have all you thought you knew taken away and replaced with a new dogma so to speak. You will lose family, social connections, friends. It will be lonely. Is the price worth it? Some say it is, others will tell you it isn’t.

  • Maximus

    Easy. Watch…

  • Lazarovic

Wait…if I’m reading this, I must be plugged into “the matrix”! And that must mean that this website is using the matrix to advance its “agenda”….so that means that Michael is part of the matrix…. and I’m being brainwashed right NOW! AAAHHHHHHH……*

The ‘Christian Faith’ you refer to has not been that which Jesus taught to us. Throughout America’s history it has been used as a bludgeon to control people with violence. As to ‘the Judeo-Christian foundations of the West that brought such success and such prosperity’ referred to, tell that to the Native Americans that were slaughtered, the Japanese that were put into concentration camps during WW2, and the Mexican peoples whose land in the Southwest was stolen from them.

The media has been used to re-write history and so are you.

    • charlie

Thank you cedricward for speaking the truth. Whatever message jesus may have had has been twisted into what we have today. Why can’t christians open up their eyes to this truth? So sad.

  • VigilanteCaregiver

If you want to see how bad this matrix can get; play the “Watch_Dogs” games.

    • knack

i have that game but i haven’t played it much due to lack of time. it’s fun but i liked uncharted, ratchet or gta better. just remember if u have ps4 u need to slip the cover off to avoid heat damage. xbox one has better cooling
When the elite are slowly transforming the world into north korea i can’t spend all day gaming.

      • VigilanteCaregiver

Seriously, take some time to play it. There’s a lot of parallels to what’s happening in reality.

  • With Fortitude

We should have been just as fearful towards watching too much TV ; now where have I heard this before?

  • charlie

This includes organized religion and yes christians even your jesus is a product of the matrix.
