First Amendment Under Attack: 18 Examples Of How They Are Coming For Our Free Speech

In the United States today, the First Amendment is under attack like never before.  Technological innovations such as the Internet have made it possible for average Americans to communicate directly with one another in ways that completely bypass the mainstream media, and this is making the elite very uncomfortable.  They have decided that they better come after our free speech before it is too late.  Right now, free speech in America is being chipped away at it in thousands of different ways.  On the one hand, you have the disciples of “political correctness” that want to make all forms of speech that are “offensive” to anyone against the law.  On the other hand, you have those that are obsessed with “national security” that want to ban all speech that is critical of the U.S. government or the U.S. military.  These twin forces are constantly seeking to push the First Amendment into a smaller and smaller box.  If you say the wrong thing in America today, your website might be shut down, you could be suspended from school, you may find yourself out of a job and there is now even a possibility that you could be arrested and shipped off to Guantanamo Bay without a trial.

Usually those that are targeted for their speech are those that the “establishment” does not like.  That would include free thinkers, political activists, libertarians, true conservatives and Christians.

Instead of seeing the value in allowing everyone to say what they think, we are being taught in America today that there is speech that is “acceptable” and speech that is “not acceptable”.

If we allow this attack on the First Amendment to continue, eventually we will wake up in a country where our freedom of speech is totally gone.

The following are 18 examples of how the elite are coming for our free speech….

#1 Two bills currently going through Congress, the Stop Online Piracy Act and the Protect Intellectual Property Act, would give the U.S. government the ability to shut down literally millions of websites.

These bills are incredibly dangerous and if they are passed they could change the way that the Internet operates forever.

The following is from a piece that Google co-founder Sergey Brin recently authored about these new bills….

“Imagine my astonishment when the newest threat to free speech has come from none other but the United States. Two bills currently making their way through congress — SOPA and PIPA — give the U.S. government and copyright holders extraordinary powers including the ability to hijack DNS and censor search results (and this is even without so much as a proper court trial)”

Any website that posts “infringing material” could be instantly shut down under these news laws.  For example, if one “infringing video” was posted on YouTube, the entire site could be taken down forever and permanently erased from Google in a matter of days.  That is how serious these new bills are as Brin noted later on in his piece….

“While I support their goal of reducing copyright infringement (which I don’t believe these acts would accomplish), I am shocked that our lawmakers would contemplate such measures that would put us on a par with the most oppressive nations in the world.”

Can you imagine a world where there is no more YouTube, no more Facebook and no more Twitter?

That is what we could be looking at.

Sadly, many in the U.S. Congress seem absolutely obsessed with censoring the Internet.

U.S. Senator Chris Dodd once said the following….

“When the Chinese told Google that they had to block sites or they couldn’t do [business] in their country, they managed to figure out how to block sites”

U.S. Senator Joe Lieberman has gone even farther.  Just check out what he once said….

“Right now, China – the government – can disconnect parts of its internet in a case of war. We need to have that here too”

Not only that, U.S. Senator Joe Lieberman also recently asked Google to install a “terrorist button” on all blogs so that readers can easily flag “terrorist content” for authorities.

The Internet is under attack from Washington D.C., and if you love the Internet you need to say something while you still can.

Please contact your representatives in Congress and tell them that they must vote against these bills.

#2 Politicians all over the United States are using law enforcement authorities to shut down free speech that they do not like.  For example, during a recent meeting of the Pensacola City Council, a priest was nearly arrested after he calmly said some things that members of the city council did not like.  If you have not seen this video of the incident yet, you should really check it out.

#3 The First Amendment is especially under attack in our public schools.  For example, one group of high school athletes was recently suspended for “Tebowing” in the hallways of their school.

#4 The U.S. government is now encouraging children to spy on their parents as part of the “war on terror”.  If a school official hears that a parent has said the “wrong thing” at home, that parent could potentially get labeled as a “potential terrorist”.

#5 Even though tens of millions of Americans have found the information and products sold by Kevin Trudeau to be incredibly helpful, the FTC has mercilessly gone after him.  They have done everything that they can to shut him up and now he is being ordered to pay a ridiculous financial penalty of 37.6 million dollars.

#6 Hillary Clinton recently said that certain “political, cultural, and religious beliefs” are obstacles to promoting alternative lifestyles around the world and therefore must not be tolerated….

“Now, raising this issue, I know, is sensitive for many people and that the obstacles standing in the way of protecting the human rights of LGBT people rest on deeply held personal, political, cultural, and religious beliefs”

#7 Some U.S. courts have ruled that it is unconstitutional to use the name of “Jesus Christ” during any official government meeting.  The following comes from a recent WorldNetDaily article….

But the American Civil Liberties Union and Americans United for Separation of Church and State are standing by their victory in a U.S. circuit court decision that states even “a solitary reference to Jesus Christ” in invocations before the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners’ meetings could do “violence to the pluralistic and inclusive values that are a defining feature of American public life.”

#8 In North Carolina last year, a pastor was dismissed from his chaplain duties for praying in the name of Jesus.

#9 Down in Texas, the Department of Veteran Affairs actually tried to ban prayers that include the words “God” or “Jesus” during funeral services for veterans.

#10 Being able to engage in peaceful protests is one of the most important rights that the First Amendment protects.  But in recent years that right has been under attack like never before.  In a recent article I detailed some of the violence that law enforcement authorities have used against protesters in 2011….

In recent weeks, we have seen law enforcement authorities brutally dragging female protesters to the ground by their hair.  We have also seen them use pepper spray, tear gas, rubber bullets and flash-bang stun grenades against protesters.  If this is how protesters are going to be dealt with from now in America, then we have completely lost the moral high ground.  How will we ever get other nations to take us seriously when we criticize their brutality against protesters when we are so brutal ourselves?

#11 As I have written about previously, the FBI is now systematically recording Internet talk radio programs all over the United States.  This is going to cause many Internet talk radio hosts to watch what they are saying.  After all, who wants a visit from the FBI?  The following comes from a recent article by Mark Weaver of….

If you call a radio talk show and get on the air, you might be recorded by the FBI.

The FBI has awarded a $524,927 contract to a Virginia company to record as much radio news and talk programming as it can find on the Internet.

The FBI says it is not playing big brother by policing the airwaves, but rather seeking access to what airs as potential evidence.

#12 In Wichita, Kansas last year, a Christian minister was handcuffed and hauled off to jail by police for sharing the gospel and handing out tracts to Muslims on a public sidewalk.

#13 On June 18, 2010 two Christians decided that they would peacefully pass out copies of the gospel of John on a public sidewalk outside a public Islamic festival in Dearborn, Michigan and within three minutes 8 police officers surrounded them and placed them under arrest.

#14 As I have written about previously, a very revealing document obtained by Oath Keepers shows that the FBI is actually instructing store owners to report many new forms of “suspicious activity” to them.  Apparently the FBI now believes that the definition of “suspicious activity” includes “radical theology” and making “extreme religious statements”.

#15 Last year, a high school student in Southern California was suspended for two days because he had private conversations with his classmates during which he discussed Christianity.  He was also banned from bringing his Bible to school ever again.

#16 A Christian consultant was recently fired by Bank of America and by Cisco because they discovered a book that he had written that expressed Christian viewpoints about social issues.

#17 Members of the U.S. Congress have been banned from saying “Merry Christmas” in any piece of congressional mail that is paid for by U.S. tax dollars.  Even if you do not celebrate that holiday, you should still be outraged at that infringement of free speech.

#18 Barack Obama recently signed a new law that officially designates the United States as part of the “battleground” on the war on terror.  This new law allows the U.S. military to arrest American citizens if they are suspected of being “potential terrorists” and to detain them indefinitely without trial.  So if the U.S. military comes and grabs your neighbor and ships him off to Guantanamo Bay, then this new law is probably to blame.

This new law is also going to have a huge chilling effect on free speech in America.

I have personally been contacted by several people that I know in recent weeks that are changing their behavior because of laws that have recently been passed.

It is not enough for the elite that they control Wall Street, most of the big corporations and the U.S. government.

They also want to shut all the rest of us up and keep us from complaining about it.

The elite literally want to control what we think and what we say.

We live in a country where political correctness is way out of control and where bureaucrats are constantly trying to push our free speech into a smaller and smaller box.

They are coming for our free speech my friends.

If you love free speech, and if you love the Internet as it currently exists, then you need to stand up and say something right now.

If we do not respond to these constant attacks on the First Amendment, then eventually we are going to lose it for good.

  • A Dodgy Bloke

I know this is off topic any anybody know anything about the American Redoubt idea put forward by J.W Rawles? I’m not sure about the idea it sounds good, I just found out about it today. Any thought? I have a couple of links below.–t.html

About the topic above it think this just proves what thin skinned fascists most politicians are it doesn’t matter if they have R’s or D’s after thier name. Remember who brought you Patriot Act he said all the right things carried a Bible under his arm, and started gutting the Constitution.

  • Gary2

“that want to make all forms of speech that are “offensive” to anyone against the law. ”

Michael-if this were the case then Fox news and everything the right said would be against the law as everything they say is offensive!

He maybe this censorship isn’t too bad… No I am kidding everyone should be able to say their piece.

The best advertisement to vote liberal is to listen to republicans talk.

How do you know a republican is lying? Their lips are moving!

    • Joe

I only consider fidelity to our founding documents to be true conservatism. Fox is mostly a war-mongering big government neo-con back slapping party. IMO, fascist socialism is no better than communist socialism and I prefer liberty and justice for all.

Fox was refreshing at first when all we had that wasn’t left-slant was Rush. But I can hardly watch Fox anymore they are so blatantly pro-big govt. neo-con republican.

    • ScoutMotto

“I did not have sexual relations with that woman.” – Bill Clinton

      You were saying, Gary…?

    • Kevin

You forget the current President wooing the audience time and time again during his campaign over his opposition to Free Trade?

You forget the 80% of US Senate Democrats that voted for China Free Trade that told their labor supporters that they were against it? I personally heard Bill Clinton shout “No NAFTA” at a UAW get out the vote rally.

Lying is not a Republican thing, it’s a politician thing well established as “the norm” of both parties. Actually regarding the Free Trade issue the Republican’s were much more honest with the voting public.

    • 1stVARifleman

You’re an idiot. I bet your mama told you how great FDR was nad that he saved the world. A true liberal is someone who follows the teaching of Thomas Jefferson and James Madison.

    • wisefool

Gray must still not be aware it’s the continuous evil hearts of men that have led us to where we are now, not a political group. Gary also probably refuses to acknowledge the evil in his own heart, and continues to point fingers.

    • Ben Dover

I suspect that Gary is kidding about kidding. People like him are only tolerant of people who agree with them.

  • mondobeyondo

If you’re willing and/or able to fight these pests that are threatening our Constitution, now’s as good a time as any.
The elite literally want to control what we think and what we say.
Free speech is precious. Defend it, and guard it with your life. Those poor folks in North Korea don’t have free speech. Oh sure, they can talk, as long as it’s what the government wants them to say.

Just an example… (totally made up by me, by the way)

1300 North Koreans surveyed in this latest state sponsored (i.e. Praise Kim Jong-Il!) poll.

Number of N. Koreans who love Kim Jong-Il: 1299
Number of N. Koreans who despise Kim Jong-Il: 1
(and that poor guy was shot…)

  • godsofold

Don’t be afraid. They want you to fear. You know what’s coming… be prepared.

There is a very well defined and discrete group of people in America and Europe who plan to rule the world. This is a HARD FACT. They continously push for everything they can that will reduce American’s rights, from religious freedom to free speech to 2nd Amendment rights. This group is the most racist, criminal and bigoted on earth.

  • shypuffadder

I have to agree with Gary2 – Fox is very offensive every day and they are worshipped for it. We need to learn “fair and balanced” again, but Fox is not it.

It’s useless to judge a politician by whether there is a R or D behind their name… we need much better (and knowledgeable)representatives and leaders. What is the best way for this country to go forward? That is what we need to find out. Worship of a leader, as in North Korea, must be fought at every turn.

Maybe, just maybe, we will start paying attention after we return all that Black Friday junk. Or maybe after we return all that Christmas junk. Or maybe after we spend a ton of money we don’t have on Valentines Day.

    • Gary2

I often thought that if Fox has to keep telling people it is fair and balanced it must prove that they are not really fair and balanced. I guess it gives credence to the old saying that if a lie is repeated often enough some of the people will think it is the truth.

      • knightowl77

Yea, compare FOX to MSNBC, where Chrissy Mathews gets a “tingle” up his leg when he listens to BHO…or CBS with the “FAKE, but accurate” Bush Nat’l Guard docs….You just hate that FOX slants right, while everyone else slants left….sooooo much of the news on EVERY channel is slanted, by how they present it and what they decide to cover in the first place….Which is why I get 90% of my news off internet sites like this one….Suck it up, check all the stories for accuracy and just don’t take as fact whichever talking head is spewing RNC or DNC talking points…They’re ALL Spinning ALL the time…Get over it

        • Gary2

dude-the media has a huge conservative bias not liberal. I do not know what you are seeing.

  • mondobeyondo

Amendment 1 – Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression. Ratified 12/15/1791.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

So, how are we doing? Looks like we’re going downhill big time.

We had better wake up, and FAST! Before we turn into a nation with an official propaganda news agency, like Pravda in the old U.S.S.R., or Xinhua in China today. (It might be Fox News, or CBS, or CNN, who knows?) Before the military starts beating down Occupy protesters. Before Sharia law becomes the new national religion.

And for those who want to put up a Festivus pole and air your grievances – hmm. Maybe the police won’t arrest you for that.

  • Chili

Congress has no authority to legislate away the Constitution or the Bill of Rights and the Supreme Court has said so. They can pass any laws they want. They’re null and void.
I’m so sick and tired of these articles that are just meant to antagonize people who don’t understand their rights and where they come from.

    • Justin O’Buddy

And the 16th Amendment gave the congress no new powers to tax and the Supreme Court has said so. But go and find out how many people are serving sentences for breaking a law that is “null and void” (personal income tax), then come back and sell us your “antagonize” concept. However, you are technically correct in that the congress has no authority to do what they are doing, but that lack of authority doesn’t seem to be slowing them down.

My point is, don’t aim your “sick and tired” at those of us who care. Aim it at the culprits, tyrants and treasonous criminals who are trying to usurp our rights.

  • Noneya

If Christians really think about it and adhere to Biblical instruction, then we would understand and accept the fact that in the Kingdom of God, we don’t have the freedom of speech in the same way the First Amendment says we do. We are warned about the sins of the tongue and are not allowed to speak in the same way the world does. We are not allowed to speak words that tear another down, only words that edify and bring us back into fellowship with the Holy Spirit and one another.

    • wisefool

Where does it say we are not allowed to tear another down? Are you making this up? Did Jesus not call the money changers vipers? Or ridicule the pharisees pretty much constantly for being self righteous fools? It does say to love others as you would yourself, but open rebuke shows more love (in Psalms or Proverbs) than sweet talk.

    • Justin O’Buddy

Just remember WWJD. Jesus never restricted the Apostles from sharing their ideas, thoughts or even criticisms and debated with them, the High Priests, Pharasees and others without ever concluding that they were restricted from expressing themselves as long as it wasn’t a known lie, or for self adulation. Free speach is not meant to include defamation or vilification of another, but the free expression of thoughts. God wants us to be free toward those ends, because this is how we learn.

  • xander cross

Why trust Kevin Trudeau when he actually pretended to be a medicial doctor and swindle people out of their money. To those who say things like “they should have known better”, I agree with you, but, that does not make it okay for him to do so. It’s illegal. Also, he admitted that he went to the bilderburg group mettings as well on alex jones’s show.

  • Gary2

Hey Mike-did you ever consider that if the constitution is such a sacred document, why are there 20 amendments? Especially the second amendment? There is nothing in the original document about right to bear arms?

I am just asking and do not really have an opinion one way or another.

  • David

Article3, section3 outlines the definition of treason in the US. Read it and it is blatantly obvious that the NDAA is an act of treason.

    • mondobeyondo

In our present day, upside-down Alice in Wonderland world, traitors would be considered heroes.

  • Gary2

Looks like the more socialism leaning countries are beating the pants off of us. Take that conservatives. You are wrong-more socialism is the answer, gorilla capitalism is the problem. The following are FACTS something the right is unfamiliar with.

A recent piece in the New York Times summarizes our condition well: “In a Bertelsmann Foundation study on social justice released this fall, the United States came in dead last among the rich countries, with only Greece, Chile, Mexico and Turkey faring worse. Whether in poverty prevention, child poverty, income inequality or health ratings, the United States ranked below countries like Spain and South Korea, not to mention Japan, Germany or France. ..

  • xander cross

Number five is defiently false. The so called natural cures are not cures at all and this has been proven by the FDA already. The guy is indeed a liar and yet, you support him? Also, I agree with freedom of religon for everyone, but you can’t complain about christian problems when they protest in mass against muslims like many christians did on 9/11. To this day, many christians complain about muslims about building a mosque with their own money and I thought this was a free market society? This been going on for years to different people of different faiths, now that it appers that it’s the christians turn of being treated bad, you all complain?

  • knightowl77

Gary…the first 10 amendments are known as the “Bill of Rights” and the states would not ratify the Constitution until they were added….Free people may bear arms…serfs may not, which is why they are prohibited in all your socialist countries…

    • Gary2

I know for a fact you can own guns in the “socialist” countries. They do not allow carte blache like we do and have more sense than to allow people to have guns like semi-automatic/automatic who’s only purpose is to kill people.

On the whole issue of guns I am ambivalent.

    • Gay Veteran

The Bill of Rights was added after the Constitution was approved by the states.

  • Cinderella Man

Sorry for going off on you on the Collapse blog yesterday, I left a comment on you Debt free money article, and it didnt come up. That is the 2nd time that has happened to me and Im starting to wonder if Big Sis is already starting to harrass bloggers and the folks that comment on them. You would be amazed at what some people say on the INFOWARS comment rooms. There are govt. trolls openly visiting chat room trying to start shit, so the govt. will shut the sites down. Im actually worried that when PIPA and her sister SOPA get through with us the internet kill switch will be inacted, and wonderful sites such as these might be gone. I pray for your safety, Michael youve helped me thru some real hard times in my life brother. Dont ever be afraid what people say on your site, because all speech even offensive speech should always be free speech.

    • Michael

It is okay Cinderella Man, and thank you for the kind words.

As far as the comments go, everyone should realize that all comments automatically go into the moderation que, so there is always a delay before they get posted.

At what rate of speed are these comments finally being “approved”. There are comments I have made to articles the night before and I can look again noon the next day and my comments are still listed as “Your comment is awaiting moderation”.

As for free speech rights, surely you jest. Martial law has just been declared by Caligula and his roman style senate and you are talking about free speech rights? I want dissidents to scream about this to their captors all the while they are being hauled off to a FEMA concentration camp nearest them………..

  • Cinderella Man

And yes this is how liberty dies, with thunderous applause.- Padme from Star Wars Revenge of the Sith. Our Constitution was killed last week. RIP a noble experiment in freedom. NDAA, PIPA, SOPA. Where does the NWO elite come up with all these acronyms? Why dont they a spade a spade? NDAA= Lock you up and throw away the key. PIPA & SOPA = shut down all your favorite websites. Anwser If they did that then Joe Average would be really pissed! So no hide it with cute names, have a media blackout, pass it during the Holidays, and presto! A bloodless coup of the nation’s God-given rights! Man Ol Kim Jong Mentally IL must be looking up from Hell with a big smile on his face.

  • Gay Veteran

#18 is the worst. It is the hallmark of tyranny to imprision without trial!

Regarding #6, note that rights protect RELIGIOUS minorities too:

“…Clinton said recognition that LGBT people “are entitled to the full measure of dignity and rights” has evolved over time: “And as it did, we understood that we were honoring rights that people always had, rather than creating new or special rights for them. Like being a woman, like being a racial, RELIGIOUS, tribal, or ethnic minority, being LGBT does not make you less human. And that is why gay rights are human rights, and human rights are gay rights.”…”

#7 and *: why are you forcing sectarian prayers on everyone else in an ecumenical setting???

  • Man with no name

    It’s crazy in every country.
Every level of authority from local councils to state and federal governments are implementing endless mind-numbingly stupid laws, by-laws and regulations designed to raise revenue and curtail personal freedoms.
Little wonder gen-x are fat-slob, brain dead zombies spending every day indoors.
If you walk down the street with a cricket bat you get charged with carrying a weapon.
In Australia one council now imposes FINES for children playing on the swings for more than 5 minutes !!
That’s right kid – go home and play inside away from reality, eat junk food and become a burden on the health system for life.
It will take one MASSIVE global uprising from every citizen to make it absolutely 100% crystal clear that we won’t take this sort of shit anymore. It’s long overdue to get politicians and other elected officials that are truly competent at their jobs and cease getting paid once they leave office. ie no more rorting the system and being a leech at the public teat until they die.
But of course there won’t be such an uprising – people are too damn apathetic and hooked on “the system” now.
Sit back and watch the whole show sink into the swamp. The clock is ticking…

  • Mike

Funny. Hilly said, “”Now, raising this issue, I know, is sensitive for many people and that the obstacles standing in the way of protecting the human rights of LGBT people rest on deeply held personal, political, cultural, and religious beliefs.”

However, without those beliefs on place, no one would have “human rights.” Nowhere does the instruct me, in post New-Testament times, to abuse the human rights (maim, murder) anyone LGBT. If I say, “That’s sinful just like so many other sins,” then that’s not an attempted murder. If they say, “You’re a bigot and a dork and a sinner and should die,” they get free speech protection. It’s happened for real.

  • A.S.

Allow me to comment on each one of these points from an Orthodox Jewish perspective:

#1 These bills are not aimed at stopping copyright infringement. These will become laws to give examples of approved free speech. This was done in Nazi Germany. Every book not approved by the Nazi party was burned. Many great arts of literature burned! Many original manuscripts burned! Many libraries hoarded and all their books collected and burned! The internet is the example of the ultimate library which will be burned (or in the modern-day hi-tech era, taken off, deleted, indefinitely at the flip of a switch).

U.S. Senator Joe Lieberman, a Jew, and who proclaims himself a Modern Orthodox Jew at that, is one of the forerunners of these bills. For shame to him, his family, and his Jewish community, for he has forgotten what the Nazis did to our people!

Michael says, “Please contact your representatives in Congress and tell them that they must vote against these bills.” I say that this will not work, for the NDAA was written and passed, and signed into law, against our will. The Obamacare was written, passed and signed into law, even though at least 60% of Americans disapproved of it. Given Congress’ past track record, they will pass it…and Obama will sign it. There is no more glimmer of hope to protest.

#2 Is very shocking. The most shocking was at the end when one of the council members said that the father was violating the “people’s right to speak,” meaning there were others who they deemed more worthy to hear. And to add salt to the wound, she mocked him by saying he can talk to her outside to give his grievance. Sounds like a Soviet-style court to me, where the verdict was made before the case even began. They give time to speak just for show knowing full well they did not to even think about the issues presented in the first case. And when they feel that someone is actually making sense in order to prevent a riot by the people present, the court says (in this case the city council), time is up…but they PROMISED (promises don’t mean anything to them) him more time, an exact time he knew he had before he even began speaking. It was all just show. Get it through your heads people, city councils don’t want to hear from us because they will make decisions which they want to make irrespective of what we feel. I was OUTRAGED when the father was arrested because it brought back memories of Jews being arrested in the USSR for much less!

#3 Boys will be boys is not allowed anymore?! They were not hurting anyone. They were not harassing anyone. No one apparently complained. I bet if they were imitating Barack Obama or making fun of Ron Paul, nothing would happen. I am not a parent, but if I were I would be outraged that the school administration wastes time (which is paid with tax-payer money) to prosecute behavior which in the 50s or 60s everyone would get a laugh out of. The administration involved should all be fired. And the police who made the arrests should also be fired, without severance pay.

#4 Soviet-style propaganda. This all began with children being able to call the cops on their parents for spanking them. Even in the Torah it is written that a parent must hit his child (with love) at least once so that they have fear of their parents (alluding to fear of G-d). So, if children report on their parents (go against G-d), that means they are taking the side of government (evil). The government should be afraid of us, not us afraid of them!

#5 It is irrelevant if Kevin was in jail or not, so long as their were not too many complaints from individuals against him. I bet a doctor that played “G-d” in many different ways, so long as he did not violate any AMA, FDA, USDA, FCC, etc. laws, would be able to get off much easier than Kevin. Why must there be laws to protect people from making their own choices? This takes away free will, which is given by G-d to lead one’s life. If he is really that bad, let the people decide. Let them make a class action suit against him. But most people love him! Most people can’t get enough of what he says! Most people risk their lives to save their lives (i.e. to eliminate their illnesses without doctors, surgery or prescription drugs) by doing what he says. It is yet another example of government converging on business to tell us what they truth is. Well here is some free medical advice according to the Rambam, a Rabbi, Torah scholar, and doctor (to the Sultan of Egypt). He lived during the 12th century (around 900 years ago; this needs to be specified so that it is understood how much of a prophet he was what medical science has now found). One of the things he said was eat meals up to 2/3 your fill. What scientists have found is CR (Calorie Reduction). Test were done on apes where their calorie intake was reduced to 2/3. Results? If they were human beings they would have lived up to 120+ with relatively no health problems. Another thing he said was to drink wine with meals. What scientists have found was that the French were on to something: even though they eat very unhealthy things, somehow their glass of wine at dinner counteracts some of the effects. So, to all the different federal agencies out there: come and arrest me for giving free medical advice to people that will decrease their illnesses and lengthen their years, all without doctors, surgery, or prescription drugs! What gives you the right to say only doctors can treat? Only prescription drugs can cure? Only surgery can heal? What about quoting great doctors of ancient times? Are you going to arrest me for quoting them?

#6 To all you Bible folk out there: no comments are needed. To all you anti-Bible folk out there: all the explanations in the world will not convince you.

#7 Even though I am Jewish, I do submit, so long as my religious observance is not curtailed, to a government based on Christian beliefs. If they want to do that, they have the right, especially under the U.S. Constitution. The Constitution is not a separation from religion, it is to prohibit government from interfering with religion (meaning a state-approved or state-made religion, like the church of England where the king made his own brand of Christianity). All these unions should ashamed of themselves. And the greater shames goes to the circuit court taking away the freedom of speech and religion!

#8 Huh?! That would be like a rabbi being dismissed from a synagogue for saying “the Torah was given to us by G-d through Moses His prophet,” during his sermons. What kind of [fill in the blank] is that? So now members of a church, synagogue, etc., can dictate what they think is unacceptable to speak?

#9 See #7 and #8. Same thing, just different people in charge going against G-d.

#10 Soviet police. Nazi police. Fascist police. Take your pick, they all are the same in the end. I would be very afraid to walk the streets in the U.S. right now as a Jew. I have a personal account to share. About two years ago, before all this was on the news or talked about, before NDAA, etc., I was unjustly restrained and almost arrested on my holy Shabbat (Saturday) for a misunderstanding. The police held me (luckily I was not handcuffed) for half an hour in the scorching heat of summer until they released me, upon finding out I was “safe.” What was I doing? Trying to find the home of some one I never met, so I did not know the address. I was knocking on every door with a muzuzah (door post attachment containing parchment with special prayer—read the Bible to get more info). Someone must have reported me as engaging in “suspicious behavior.” So this is a crime now? This was a Jewish area. It was Shabbat. I was dressed in Shabbat clothing. They saw I looked like an Orthodox Jew. And yet they chose to humiliate me on Shabbat! And oh, next Shabbat the same officer is driving by and requests me to stop to chat with him, when he sees me walking in the street. I keep going and ignore him and he says, “hey, come back, I am talking to you.” If he would have done another unjust restraint, even though the first one would have been enough, I would surely sue the police department for religious harassment.

I have been writing for almost an hour. I am tired. I wanted to comment on all of them from an Orthodox Jewish perspective. So maybe I will finish the rest if I remember. But one important thing should be understood which seems to repeat itself in most of these numbers: the police are not your friend anymore; they will not protect you; they are there to serve the interests of evil government, evil corporations, evil pharmaceuticals, evil bankers, evil media, and anyone else who has money or power. Let it be known that the U.S. Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land. Continue to speak freely. Continue so circumvent their anti-free speech laws, because they are the ones that are out of order. Illegal laws DO NOT NEED TO BE FOLLLOWED!

A.S., Thank you for your comments and your reminder of how the Nazi’s started their campaign…I have been trying to remind people and it seems that most don’t think of history as actually having happened. Corrie Ten Boom (Author of “The Hiding Place,” and one of Israel’s Righteous Gentiles) said that her nephew tried warning his neighbors and eventually lost his life for standing up to the regime. We must raise our voices (as you have) to speak out against what is happening in our nation or our nation will go from being a beacon of freedom to just another dictatorship.

Thanks for sharing your view. These 18 examples just made me very, very sad. I admire that you had the energy to comment on 10 of them.

I’d like to share something about the prelude to WW2. In the thirties quite a lot of people outside Germany saw it coming. There was an uneasy feeling in society, but nobody could describe exactly what it was. However, the politicians didn’t have the guts to warn and some were just fools. The newspapers more or less reported what the governments told them.

About a year before Chamberlain betrayed Czechoslovakia and promised “peace in our time”, my grandfather was in Germany. There he was bluntly told after a few beers in a pub: “But first we will make a little bit of war.”

      Take care.

They need to censor and control the media as NOBODY is listening to their garbage any more , its not working and even if they pass these bills they cannot kill free speech on the internet , the good folks at Mozilla already have a work around for SOPA called Desopa , just install on your Firefox browser and they are unable to block anything , and there will be more popping up. These scumbag elites have fired all their bullets and are out of ammo, its over for them as everybody from every side is waking up to them. I see JAIL in their future for taking these treasonous acts!
