Every Breath You Take, Every Move You Make – 14 New Ways That The Government Is Watching You

If you live in the United States today, you need to understand that your privacy is being constantly eroded.  Our world is going crazy, government paranoia is off the charts and law enforcement authorities have become absolutely obsessed with watching us, listening to us, tracking us, recording us, compiling information on all of us and getting us all to spy on one another.  If you doubt that we are rapidly getting to the point where the government will monitor every breath you take and every move you make, just read the rest of this article.  The truth is that the government is watching you more closely than ever, and they are spending billions upon billions of dollars to enhance their surveillance capabilities even further.  If our society stays on this current path, we will eventually have zero privacy left.  At this point, it is not too hard to imagine a society where we will not be able to say anything, buy anything, sell anything, assemble with others or even leave our homes without government permission.  We truly are descending into a dystopian nightmare and the American people had better wake up.

Sadly, most people living in the United States and in Europe do not realize what is happening.  Most of them think that everything is just fine.  The “Big Brother control grid” that is being constructed all over the western world squeezes all of us just a little bit tighter every single day, and most people don’t even feel it.

But when you step back and take a look at the big picture, it truly is horrifying.

The following are 14 new ways that the government is watching you….

#1 In many areas of the United States today, you will be arrested if you do not produce proper identification for the police.  In the old days, “your papers please” was a phrase that we used to use to mock the tyranny of Nazi Germany.  But now all of us are being required to be able to produce “our papers” for law enforcement authorities at any time.  For example, a 21-year-old college student named Samantha Zucker was recently arrested and put in a New York City jail for 36 hours just because she could not produce any identification for police.

#2 The federal government has decided that what you and I share with one another on Facebook and on Twitter could be a threat to national security.  According to a recent Associated Press article, the Department of Homeland Security will soon be “gleaning information from sites such as Twitter and Facebook for law enforcement purposes”.

Other law enforcement agencies are getting into the act as well.  For example, the NYPD recently created a special “social media” unit dedicated to looking for criminals on social media networks such as Facebook and Twitter.

#3 New high-tech street lights that are being funded by the federal government and that are being installed all over the nation can also be used as surveillance cameras, can be used by the DHS to make “security announcements” and can even be used to record personal conversations.  The following is from a recent article by Paul Joseph Watson for Infowars.com….

Federally-funded high-tech street lights now being installed in American cities are not only set to aid the DHS in making “security announcements” and acting as talking surveillance cameras, they are also capable of “recording conversations,” bringing the potential privacy threat posed by ‘Intellistreets’ to a whole new level.

#4 More than a million hotel television sets all over America are now broadcasting propaganda messages from the Department of Homeland Security promoting the “See Something, Say Something” campaign.  In essence, the federal government wants all of us to become “informants” and to start spying on one another constantly.  The following comes from an article posted by USA Today….

Starting today, the welcome screens on 1.2 million hotel television sets in Marriott, Hilton, Sheraton, Holiday Inn and other hotels in the USA will show a short public service announcement from DHS. The 15-second spot encourages viewers to be vigilant and call law enforcement if they witness something suspicious during their travels.

#5 The FBI is now admittedly recording Internet talk radio programs all over the United States.  The following comes from a recent article by Mark Weaver of WMAL.com….

If you call a radio talk show and get on the air, you might be recorded by the FBI.

The FBI has awarded a $524,927 contract to a Virginia company to record as much radio news and talk programming as it can find on the Internet.

The FBI says it is not playing big brother by policing the airwaves, but rather seeking access to what airs as potential evidence.

Potential evidence of what?

This is very creepy.  Why is the FBI so interested in what is being said during Internet talk radio programs?

#6 TSA VIPR teams are now conducting random inspections at bus stations and on interstate highways all over the United States.  For example, the following comes from a local news report down in Tennessee….

You’re probably used to seeing TSA’s signature blue uniforms at the airport, but now agents are hitting the interstates to fight terrorism with Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response (VIPR).

“Where is a terrorist more apt to be found? Not these days on an airplane more likely on the interstate,” said Tennessee Department of Safety & Homeland Security Commissioner Bill Gibbons.

Tuesday Tennessee was first to deploy VIPR simultaneously at five weigh stations and two bus stations across the state.

#7 Thermal imaging face scanners are becoming much more sophisticated.  Law enforcement authorities in the western world are getting very excited about “pre-crime” tools such as this that will enable them to “prevent crimes” before they happen.  The following is from a recent BBC News article….

A sophisticated new camera system can detect lies just by watching our faces as we talk, experts say.

The computerised system uses a simple video camera, a high-resolution thermal imaging sensor and a suite of algorithms.

Researchers say the system could be a powerful aid to security services.

But face scanners are not just a tool that will be used in the future.  The truth is that face scanners are being used all over the United States right now.  The following comes from an article posted on Singularity Hub….

Law enforcement continues to adopt new technologies in an effort to make their jobs easier and keep us safer. The latest gizmo attaches to officers’ iPhones and turns them into biometric face scanners. The scanners have already been street tested in Massachusetts. Pretty soon cops all across the US will be using them to ID suspects.

Before long, technology like this will be all over America.  In fact, the FBI has announced that it will be activating a “nationwide facial recognition service” in January.

#8 Another “pre-crime” technology currently being tested by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is The Future Attribute Screening Technology (FAST) program.  The following description of this new program comes from an article in the London Telegraph….

Using cameras and sensors the “pre-crime” system measures and tracks changes in a person’s body movements, the pitch of their voice and the rhythm of their speech.

It also monitors breathing patterns, eye movements, blink rate and alterations in body heat, which are used to assess an individual’s likelihood to commit a crime.

The Future Attribute Screening Technology (FAST) programme is already being tested on a group of government employees who volunteered to act as guinea pigs.

Do you want government officials to pull you aside and interrogate you just because you are feeling a little bit nervous one particular day?

#9 Sadly, “pre-crime” technology is even being used on our children.  The Florida State Department of Juvenile Justice has announced that it will begin using analysis software to predict crime by young delinquents and will place “potential offenders” in specific prevention and education programs.

How soon will it be before this type of things is applied to adults?

#10 Our children are being programmed to accept the fact that they will be watched and monitored constantly.  For example, the U.S. Department of Agriculture is spending large amounts of money to install surveillance cameras in the cafeterias of public schools all across the nation so that government control freaks can closely monitor what our children are eating.

#11 The U.S. government is also increasingly using “polls” and “surveys” as tools to gather information about all of us.  In previous articles, I have noted how government authorities seems particularly interested in our children.  According to Mike Adams of Natural News, the CDC is starting to call parents all over the U.S. to question them about the vaccination status of their children….

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control, which has been comprehensively exposed as a vaccine propaganda organization promoting the interests of drug companies, is now engaged in a household surveillance program that involves calling U.S. households and intimidating parents into producing child immunization records. As part of what it deems a National Immunization Survey(NIS), the CDC is sending letters to U.S. households, alerting them that they will be called by “NORC at the University of Chicago” and that households should “have your child’s immunization records handy when answering our questions.”

You can see a copy of the letter that the CDC has been sending out to selected parents right here.

#12 As I have written about previously, a very disturbing document that Oath Keepers has obtained shows that the FBI is now instructing store owners to report many new forms of “suspicious activity” to them.  According to the document, “suspicious activity” now includes the following….

*paying with cash

*missing a hand or fingers

*”strange odors”

*making “extreme religious statements”

*”radical theology”

*purchasing weatherproofed ammunition or match containers

*purchasing meals ready to eat

*purchasing night vision devices, night flashlights or gas masks

Do any of those “signs of suspicious activity” apply to you?

According to a report on WorldNetDaily, this document is part of a “series of brochures” that will be distributed “to farm supply stores, gun shops, military surplus stores and even hotels and motels.”

#13 In some areas of the country, law enforcement authorities are pulling data out of cell phones for no reason whatsoever.  According to the ACLU, state police in Michigan are now using “extraction devices” to download data from the cell phones of motorists that they pull over.  This is taking happening even if the motorists that are pulled over are not accused of doing anything wrong.

The following is how a recent article on CNET News described the capabilities of these “extraction devices”….

The devices, sold by a company called Cellebrite, can download text messages, photos, video, and even GPS data from most brands of cell phones. The handheld machines have various interfaces to work with different models and can even bypass security passwords and access some information.

#14 The government can spy on us and record our conversations seemingly without any limitation, but in many areas of the country it has become illegal to watch them or record them in public.  For example, one 21-year-old man down in Florida was recently arrested for trying to document a confrontation that he was having with police on his iPhone.  But if we can’t record them, how can we prove our side of the story in court?

America is becoming a much different place.

Our privacy is being eroded in thousands of different ways.

National governments and big corporations know far more about you than you probably ever would imagine.

Yes, there will always be “security threats”, but we should not have to throw away any of our rights in order to be “safe”.

America is supposed to be about liberty and freedom.

America is supposed to be the land of the free and the home of the brave.

If given the choice between living in “1984” and living in “1776”, I know what my choice would be.

I would choose 1776.

I would choose liberty and freedom even if it meant that the world around me was a little bit less “safe”.

What about you?

What would you choose?

•”It was terribly dangerous to let your thoughts wander when you were in any public place or within range of a telescreen. The smallest thing could give you away. A nervous tic, an unconscious look of anxiety, a habit of muttering to yourself–anything that carried with it the suggestion of abnormality, of having something to hide. In any case, to wear an improper expression on your face…; was itself a punishable offense. There was even a word for it in Newspeak: facecrime…”

      LOL.

Umm.. (i’m tired of using “umm’ in every sentence)
    I would choose 1956.
Elvis Presley. Giant boat sized cars. President Eisenhower. Okay, dump Prez Eisenhower, if you’re a liberal Democrat.
But the times sure seemed to be better back then.
In less than 10 years, those young girls in 1956 would become fanatical fans of the Beatitutes, oops, I meant the Beatles.

Hey, stop hurling those tomatoes and eggs now. I’ll never be Groucho Marx or Jimmy Durante funny, but at least I’m trying! Really, I am! I like the Beatles! Hey, stop it!!!

      “I would choose 1956.”

“But the times sure seemed to be better back then.”

Yes, they sure did. I think I’d pick 1958, the last year before “the day the music died”. Or at least any year after WW2… but before the “Destruction of the USA” acts (the Immigration and Naturalization Act of 1964 and the Civil Rights Act of 1965).

Yes, there were bad times as well.

Whew. I know I just opened up a can of nitroglycerin there with that last comment. If Michael feels free to he is more than welcome to delete that before it explodes into full-on rage.

Well, in defense, I can only say that MLK’s life and actions were not perfect. Neither are yours. Everyone has their lives to live. God does not force to live your life the way He wants you to.

That was Satan’s error. That is your choice.

The US government is spending billions of dollars spying on Grandma while they ignore illegal aliens and our borders.

It is time for US citizens to start spying on their elected politicians 24/7 and find out what these people are smoking or who they are in bed with.

On the positive side, as soon as the money printing machine breaks, the US government will no longer have the financial resources to engage in the above abuse.

    • mark

It depends on the type of collaspe we end up with. The government might not need financial resources and instead use forced human labor. If the police state keeps growing with the control freaks running everything we might all become serfs.

  • Hefsmaster

If the general population of sheep don’t see it yet after all the crap that has gone on. They will never see it.
The general populace needs to get off the L/R paradigm they’re fed…

They need to learn to not get offended when the side they believe in gets attacked. Both sides are accomplices to spending us broke and making new rules of tyrannical hell for us to endure…

To put into child speak for the idiot masses.

There are two sides to every story…. Then there’s the truth….

    I am the 1% of the 99%…

    We’re are so doomed….

  • HeartofShadows

I would choose freedom over security as Ben Franklin said once you get too much security you eventually end up getting neither. We’ll end up in a V for Vendetta society where if you mock the police, fbi or government on tv then a squad of police storm the place and shoot everybody there dead and arrest the families of the ones there.

We are becoming more like the communist police states of the Warsaw Pact and China…” A sophisticated new camera system can detect lies just by watching our faces as we talk, experts say.” If good lie detectors had been used in terrorists before they entered the country, we wouldn’t be in the situation we are in and our freedoms would not be being stripped away before our eyes. This is the end of the great America as we knew it..

  • KGB Police State America

If the U.S. government secured our borders and properly screened terrorists before they entered, we would not be in this situation. The government was waiting for an excuse to destroy our freedoms..This is what happens when government is too big.

  • William

Americans are BRAIN DEAD. They will go to the polls in Nov of 2012 and again vote for the very same cretins who support the Patriot Act,and support DHS and TSA. In fact, most Americans do not care that the Constitutionally guaranteed rights and freedoms that have protected Americans for over 200 years are being trashed. The Smirking Chimp and war criminal Bush started most of this decline. The Obummer has only continued it. If you do not know of the Cheka, or Felix Dzerinsky or Moses Uritsky, you know little and are just coasting into the basement of the Lubyanka prison in Moscow……..

  • KGB Police State America

Email your congressman to stop this monster rights annihilator. As Rob McNealy in Coloroado, pointed out in WND the irony that the government, through the Federal Emergency Management Agency, specifically advises citizens to collect “ready-to-eat canned meats, fruits and vegetables” as well as “flashlight and extra batteries” and “matches in a waterproof container.” The government says watch out for certain activities, then tells citizens via FEMA to do the opposite. This is sheer idiocy.

The further a society strays from the moral laws of God, the greater the laws and contraints that it has placed upon it. Are not the most atheistic societies also the most restrictive of basic human freedoms?
We haven’t lost our liberty because it was forcibly taken away. We lost our liberty because we abused it.

  • Vadim

We have to realize that the main reason for these trends is not control per se, but pure capitalistic nature of this security business, which will grow uncontrolled as long and as big as it can, like any corporation. The people who inflate all his to the new heights don’t really need any of the information they collect; what they need is increased budget, promotions, and new jobs. Like it or not, security industry has become the new developing industry in America, and any fight against it is first of all the fight against X billion (trillion?) dollar business – and only them everything else. And it’s exactly because of that this fight has no chances. So they see the opportunity, and only then they come up with the ideas about “threats” and “crime” that might justify these ideas; the fact that they don’t exist and that the crime rates are totally unaffected by these billions spent, does not seem to matter. And maybe this is the way to react: ask at the city meeting, how come there’s no reduced crime rate after X millions spent? how come there are no less car crashes at that intersection with new red-light camera, despite thousands of tickets it has generated? the only way to stop this booming business is to stop paying it, stop approving insane budgets on security on all levels.

What’s the difference between the Democrats and Communist Russia?

Communist Russia protected it’s borders and supported their troops.

But they both pulled this kind of crap…

    • RoadDawg

What’s the difference between Republicans and Democrats?? Or as I like to call them, Republicrats and Demicans. They take turns playing the “Good Cop-Bad Cop” game. Simple logic…who have been running things for the last century? Who appear against eachother in public but are constantly associating /partying with eachother behind the scenes? Who allowed the Fed. Reserve Bank to be established? Who passed the 16th Amendment without full ratification?…and more…the answer is Democrats AND Republicans. They have been in “cahoots” with each other since day one. This country was founded and originally run by ‘non-professional’ local businessmen…not Professional Politicians…simple logic…WAKE-UP, PEOPLE!!!!

  • MetaCynic

Just as it is in the nature of cancer or fire to continue to grow, it’s in the nature of politicians, bureaucrats and their pit bulls, the police, to ceaselessly reach for more power over us. That’s why eternal vigilance is the price of liberty. No sane person would ignore a small cancer in his body or a small fire in his living room, yet the vast majority of Americans repeatedly tolerate tiny, incremental erosion of their freedoms.

Today the reality has become that democracy is all about electing the commandant and guards who will boss us around in Gulag America. Yet the clueless inmates proudly, even passionately participate in this farce to elect their favorite abusers. Talk about the Stockholm Syndrome on a grand scale!

We must recognize that very little of this out of control surveillance and information gathering by the state would be possible without the high tech gadgetry peddled by private lobbyists to government officials to purchase with our tax dollars. For example, Michael Chertoff, the ex chief of the DHS, has made millions lobbying his former employer to purchase and install the porno scanner cancer boxes at airports throughout the U.S. In all its years of existence, the TSA’s unconstitutional abuse of air travelers has not uncovered a single terrorist, yet, to the delight of greedy lobbyists like Chertoff, they want to expand their pointless groping and irradiation to every nook and cranny in America.

It’s time that the watchers and controllers and their enablers be outed. It’s not enough that the abuse of police power is being taped for all the world to see. We must also expose the private contractors who are selling the tools of our enslavement to the state. Perhaps someday soon the photos, names, home addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of those enriching themselves at the expense of our liberty will be posted on the internet. After all, it’s only fair that they too should experience what it’s like to have no place to hide.

    • Dennis Habern

      Hey Einstein:

For your information, the reason why TSA has not apprehended any

terrorists at any American airport, is the fact that the terrorists are

smarter than the TSA operators and are using other transportation to

accomplish their dirty work? Duh!!!!! What say thee, fair Knave?

      • Heather

Or maybe there never were any terrorists…

  • http://goldtracker.wordpress.com/ Hal (GT)

What is frustrating to me is that we are accepting more and more, without thinking about it, technology that aids the tracking of everything we do. I saw a guy on CNBC this morning talking about future tech where there would be thousands of radio transceivers which will communicate with phones and track users.

That kind of tech is way cool! But it also gives a huge temptation to powers that be to take advantage.

A quote from a book The Red Circle “Why have all these evils happened to us? Because we have forgotten God!”
When we forget God the minions of hell work feverishly to fill our heads with paranoia, confusion and despair.
From the book of Sirach:”Trust God and He will help you, make straight your ways and hope in Him”. God desires of us repentance and reconciliation that He may fill our hearts with peace and joy something that the world and the worldly do not understand. Time to pray and then sleep like a baby. There is nothing like meditative prayer to put me to sleep in no time no matter how wound up I may be. Alleluyah!

  • john

Both Republicans and Democrats are guilty of this. They both use threats of terrorism in order to erode more of our rights and privacy. What can you do?If you believe in God…pray, trust and don’t worry..the signs are coming to fruition. If you don’t believe in God..you’ll eventually become the govt. patsies who will be used to persecute religious people in order to save your own hides.Currently the Christian population of the US is still the obstacle that stands in the way of complete control..however this current administration is working very hard at fixing this problem for them. Those who are in govt.who are participating in spying and destroying this nations freedoms and sovreignty will eventually answere to God for their actions.Oooh I bet I just got put on some watch list now for this.

The current status of our economy & healthcare is neither Democrat or Republican, but it’s much more complicated with corruption in both parties and at all levels of elected & appointed government officials.

Now is NOT the time to make this into a political battle. It’s time for all US citizens who really care about our country to work together towards reversing the control BOTH political parties have given to one major financial & healthcare entity…Wells Fargo Insurance.

  • givemeliberty

To have liberty is to be free from control or restriction, America was founded because a group of men decided they wanted to live the dream and be free from the control of Parliament and free from having their lives invaded by the general searches conducted by the British Army for no good reason . This group of men wanted to create a Utopia where all men were treated as kings, free to govern themselves, free to choose where and how they wanted to live, free from taxation without representation. A place where you could walk down the street without being questioned about where you were going or where you came from, or what business do you have here? Why liberty? Because I do not want to lose the power to choose and think and act for myself. All around me , everyday, I hear of more and more attacks on American citizens civil liberties and I feel the need to arm myself with knowledge because it is the only way to win against the attacks. I do not wish to live in a place where I have to be careful of who I speak to and where I go, liberty is having to answer to no one because it is none of their concern! Our government should not be telling us to spy on our neighbors, it is against the Constitution! Our government needs to focus more on securing our borders and less on the comings and goings of average citizens. I want to be able to walk down the street, at night, who cares what time it is, and not have to worry about being stopped and questioned by the police about my intentions because I intended to blow off some steam or I intended to clear my head or I intended to go and see a friend and it is nobody’s business but mine and liberties!

  • S. Wiseman

What benefit do I get by being an American citizen? I earn $50,000 a year and pay a third in taxes not to mention all the “fees” and “copays”. What is the benefit to being an American? Seems non-citizens get more benefits than I do these days… free healthcare, reduced college tuition, jobs, police and fire services, public education, travel on our roads and highways. I can get the same benefits as a noncitizen without paying taxes. Hmmmm.

A Blunt warning to our Government and our Military:
In our nation of 300 million people, there are at least 95 million lawful gun owners. Those 95 million guns owners lawfully possess 212 million firearms. Even if the government recalled ALL military members from around the entire world, they would have a force of only about two million.95 million gun owners versus 2 million troops. I think we all know how this would turn out: the government would be slaughtered. In fact, if only ten percent of the 95 million gun owners had guts enough to fight, we would still outnumber the military almost 3:1.We The People of the United States aren’t the least bit worried about government tanks and planes, those tools are useless in guerilla warfare. Want proof? Iraq! The U.S. government is getting its ass kicked over there. Government wouldn’t last a week if they tried implementing this plan here. Government would do well to remember they exist at the whim and behest of the American people. Government in this land exists to serve us as we direct. The power government wields belongs to The People. We The People merely LEND part of our power to government and we have the absolute right to take that power back at any time we deem appropriate. In fact, the founding fathers made clear we can take it back in any MANNER we deem appropriate! That’s why they gave us the Second Amendment! If the U.S. government or military dares attempt to implement this plan, they should expect to be killed.

The primary problem to our governmental system, is that the U.S. is a

representative Republic and not a directly elected Republic, similar to our

first governments under the Pilgrims or in and around 1609-1620, if you follow.

Currently, therefore, the American people are only pacified because the

Constitution gives Americans the right to vote, but that is as far as it goes,

because once our directly elected 535 representatives are elected and move to

Washington, our 535 elected officials forget whom elected them and that they

forget that they work for the American masses; not the other way around, if

      you follow.

You’ve got all these articles about Big Brother. Everybody talks ___. Why isn’t there some agenda on behalf of all these sites to get together for everybody parade on say July 4th in every city, county whatever? Theres just too much talk and no actions?

  • annabell patrick

i think i would also choose 1776 even if i had to die at that time liberty and especially freedom cause you wont even know if they put cameras in your bathroom

  • annabell patrick

i know i what said about freedom and liberty but i forgot about the terrorists here, they came from china ,they go into school buses, and look for a pretty girl, and when that girl gets of the bus they grab her an tie her up. They make her drunk, and they start to rape, they do this one by one and when she screams they will cut off one of her fingers then they abuse her and stick a knife through her chest and cut her open and remove her liver and send it to china.

you know all my life i’ve been hearing stories about the africans , the cave men , the vikings, they are all vicious & mean they ate humans, now when i moved i heard about, terrorists but i didn’t belive they were real because i had never seen or been attacked

by one, i had just met my long lost aunty, then the day after that, the police found her in the river with all her organs and insde gone my heart was broken and i felt like killing someone then i let it go when we went to her funeral they were putting her body inside so now tell everyone i know beware of terrorists before they kill you.

  • Have a propaganda at this

You are all so narrow minded! You believe that the government are here to help. I have seen many a thing that would make your skin crawl to even imagine.. To the “higher power” we are all sheep. Something to manipulate and control. “Sheeple” if you will. So, so, so many things are hidden from us, all around the world, why would they inform us of this stuff? They need to create order, to feed us with mindless distractions, so they can go unnoticed. To control the masses of imbeciles who believe that they are the ones that the government serves, they feed us things like sports and “terrorists” to disguise what they are doing. Look at the situation closely.. You will find that things aren’t exactly what they seem.. Think about the stuff the government crams down your throats, and take a look at the big picture. Do you see it?

But to me, the war is already lost, take a look around, they have already won. Who controls every aspect of our lives? Who do we all answer to? We are nothing. What is the point of our puny existence? We are all controlled, and have failed to see it until it is too late. Ask yourself this. What do you really know about the world? What if all you see isn’t real? Do you really know what’s going on? I do.

Why is the government so scared of us?! If the don’t watch us all the time people might have more respect for them, also on MSN there was an article about a woman searching for pressure cookers because she was going to buy a restaurant or something like that and when the police saw she looked up pressure cooker on google they raided her house. That is just taking it way to far.

Money and power corrupt, no matter who you elect for a leader they will eventually fall to the same ways the leaders you hated fell to. Our nation is a better nation than most and I will always be proud of it, but there are many things we could approve.
