America #1? 36 Facts That Prove That The United States Is An ‘Exceptional’ Nation

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

American Flag - Proud To Be An American - Public DomainIs the United States an “exceptional” nation?  Well, the facts show that we are, but not for the reasons that you may think.  Now that it is election season, we have all sorts of politicians running around proclaiming that America is the greatest nation on the entire planet.  And just this week, Warren Buffett stated that “America’s great now — it’s never been greater“.  But is it actually true?  Is the United States still a great nation?  I would submit that the numbers suggest otherwise.  I love America, and in my opinion there is not much hope for us until we are willing to admit to ourselves just how far we have fallen.  The following are 36 facts that prove that the United States is an “exceptional” nation…

#1 According to a brand new report that was just released by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the United States has the fattest population in the entire industrialized world by a wide margin.

#2 That same report from the OECD also found that we are number one in child obesity.  In fact, at 38 percent our rate of childhood obesity is even higher than our overall rate of obesity.

#3 According to USA Today, the obesity rate in the United States has more than doubled over the past 25 years.

#4 The Washington Post has reported that Americans spend an average of 293 minutes a day watching television, which is the most in the world by a wide margin.   And as I have discussed previously, more than 90 percent of the “programming” that we absorb is created by just 6 enormously powerful media corporations.

#5 One study found that the average American spends more than 10 hours a day using some sort of electronic device.

#6 By the time an American child reaches the age of 18, that child will have seen approximately 40,000 murders on television.

#7 The average young American will spend 10,000 hours playing video games before the age of 21.

#8 Out of 22 countries studied by the Educational Testing Service, Americans were dead last in tech proficiency, dead last in numeracy and only two countries performed worse than us when it came to literacy proficiency.

#9 In more than half of all U.S. states, the highest paid public employee in the state is a football coach.

#10 The percentage of wealth owned by middle class adults is lower in North America than it is anywhere else in the world.

#11 Almost half of all Americans (47 percent) do not put a single penny out of their paychecks into savings.

#12 It turns out that Americans are very good at locking people away in prison.  At 716 per 100,000 members of the population, the United States has the highest incarceration rate on the entire planet by a very wide margin.

#13 Approximately one-fourth of the entire global prison population is in the United States.

#14 In 2014, police in the United States killed 1,100 people.  During that same year, police in Canada killed 14 people, police in China killed 12 people and police in Germany didn’t kill anyone at all.

#15 One recently published study found that one out of every six young Americans has stolen something during the past year.

#16 There are more car thefts in the United States than anywhere else in the world by far.

#17 According to Fox News, approximately 70 percent of married men in the United States admit to having cheated on their wives.

#18 Americans spend far more on health care than anyone else in the world, and yet we only rank 26th in life expectancy and our entire health care system has been transformed into a giant money making scam.

#19 According to a study conducted by the Mayo Clinic, nearly 70 percent of all Americans are on at least one prescription drug, and an astounding 20 percent of all Americans are on at least five prescription drugs.

#20 According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, 31 percent of all food in the United States gets wasted.  In case you were wondering, that amounts to approximately 133 billion pounds of food a year.

#21 In 2013, women earned 60 percent of all bachelor’s degrees that were awarded that year in the United States.

#22 A survey conducted by the Barna Group discovered that 77 percent of Christian men in America in the 18 to 30-year-old age bracket view pornography at least monthly.

#23 There are more than 4 million adult websites on the Internet, and they get more traffic than Netflix, Amazon and Twitter combined.

#24 70 percent of Americans do not “feel engaged or inspired at their jobs”.

#25 When LBJ’s “War on Poverty” began, less than 10 percent of all U.S. children were growing up in single parent households.  Today, that number has skyrocketed to 33 percent.

#26 In 1950, less than 5 percent of all babies in America were born to unmarried parents.  Today, that number is over 40 percent.

#27 According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there are 20 million new cases of sexually-transmitted disease in the United States each year.

#28 Today, the United States has the highest STD infection rate in the entire industrialized world.

#29 According to a survey that was just released within the last 30 days, only 29 percent of Americans want to cut off federal funding for Planned Parenthood even after all of the shocking undercover videos that were released this year.

#30 America has the highest rate of illegal drug use on the entire planet.

#31 Doctors in the United States write more than 250 million prescriptions for antidepressants each year.

#32 One survey of 50-year-old men in the U.S. found that only 12 percent of them said that they were “very happy”.

#33 Every single year, the United States has the largest trade deficit in the entire world by a very wide margin.  But most Americans still don’t seem concerned that thousands of businesses and millions of good jobs have been leaving our country.

#34 As you read this article, there are 102.6 million working age Americans that do not have a job.

#35 We are supposed to have a government “of the people, by the people, for the people”, but only 25 percent of all Americans know how long U.S. Senators are elected for (6 years), and only 20 percent of all Americans know how many U.S. senators there are in total.

#36 On average, we have been stealing more than 100 million dollars from future generations of Americans every single hour of every single day since Barack Obama entered the White House.

  • Mondobeyondo

As the classic cliche goes, “Fat, dumb and happy”… but not for long.

Many of us are obese, idiotic, unhappy, apathetic, downright clueless, angry, and unemployed or underemployed. Add alcoholic beverages, other illegal substances, and stir gently with that big foam index finger that says “We’re #1!” Stir very gently. It’s a mixture more explosive than napalm.

  • K

Hey Michael, did you mean exceptional? Or disfunctional?

  • rmc9

…the Jews were exceptional…and we all know how that bout ended. Do we think our creator will treat us any differently?? and let’s not forget “…He is no respecter of persons.” or nations…

  • robert

And yet people die trying to get here. Then what? Elderly Cubans are coming in now and are immediately signing up for Social Security benefits getting SSI and food stamps. I think Michael missed that we are exceptionally dumb though some European countries are ahead of us with the immigrant/refugee madness. I am surprised the list did not include abortion numbers among a few other gems. Gun violence? Violent crime? Numbers of lawyers? Lawsuits? Celebrity worship? Fear? Child abuse? I am sure the list could be even longer. I like the fat one since on my last plane ride the fat guy next to me shared my seat whether I liked it or not. That brings up the numbers of diabetics. Epidemic. We also count drug and alcohol addiction as a disability for Social Security Disability reasons. We deserve to go broke and to collapse. Silly nation. Absurd nation with absurd philosophies and ideas.

    • James

Do you know how social security works?

  • Guest

Oh man! Are Americans really that stupid and ignorant? We’re doomed.

    • Pandadude12345

Don’t worry guest. We can attempt to try to turn the neo-depression around. It will be difficult, though.

  • Paul F

A nation that turns away from GOD and seeks vileness is a nation that soon comes to ruin and destruction. The american people are not united, they are divided and hate each other. A house divided cannot stand, and what america breaks down into is small pockets of millions of people personally seeking their own lives without interruption from others. Stop at a redlight and look around—the people in the vehicles surrounding you are not interested in rocking the boat, all they want is to get to point a to point b without being disturbed and somehow live contently while the world falls apart around the them. There remains in america very few patriots left who stand up for truth, liberty and justice–sadly, their voice is drowned out by the potheads in Colorado who think smoking drugs legally is the best thing ever while babies are murdered under the term abortion. what was once a nation that served GOD (1950’s and down) and is now a nation of abominations. It is no surprise to me to see American crumbling like this. america falls from the inside out. YESHUA/JESUS is our ark and those who don’t know HIM as their LORD and PERSONAL SAVIOR need to do so quickly because the storm is here.

    • Gay Veteran

“…There remains in america very few patriots left who stand up for truth, liberty and justice–sadly, their voice is drowned out by the potheads in Colorado who think smoking drugs legally is the best thing ever while babies are murdered under the term abortion….”

      you are NOT for freedom.

      btw, adopted ANY unwanted children?

      • Paul F

You need to seek YESHUA as your LORD and PERSONAL SAVIOR before its too late for your soul. I always pray for the lost.

        • HumbleAmerican

What did you expect to happen, when god leaves a manual for children to adhere by, then leaves for a couple thousand years, and then decides to come back? Would you leave your children with a manual (and lets say they are ages 12 & 13) for about 3 years. During that time you can have no interaction in the physical presence, and they cannot directly hear your voice in any way. This includes any physical harm they may encounter, you cannot physically intervene, would you treat them the same way? Please answer truthfully Paul. Would you treat your own children (creation) the same way? And, would they follow it?

          • Paul F

We go by faith for faith is evidence of things not seen but things hopes for. The Bible is not a manual, it is the living WORD OF GOD that lives within our souls, breathing and very much alive. We grow and mature in the LORD, and do not remain children. We begin in grade school but end up in college. When you have a personal relations with MESSIAH YESHUA HE is always there with us, walking beside us every day, deep within our hearts and physically with us. Miracles of untold numbers happen daily, prayers answered, lives saved, people healed, dead raised–the voice of GOD is spoken to us every day, if we listen. We will seek and find GOD when we seek HIM with all our hearts. The difference is the individual persona who decides to seek GOD through MESSIAH YESHUA or not to. The Bible teaches us how to seek GOD and therefore, we are never alone. GOD didn’t leave the Bible and then went away. GOD gave us the Bible to read with HIM daily to hear HIS Voice. A ‘Daddy’ will never leave or desert HIS children. HE is with us always. But remember the serpent walks the earth, and it wants to devour souls. How do we have victory? Through the SON OF THE LIVING GOD: MESSIAH YESHUA and HIM alone, for MESSIAH is the Way, the Truth and the Life and no man comes to the Father except through HIM. And if we can come to the FATHER through the SON, we are never alone.

          • iris

            Amen! Thanks!

          • HumbleAmerican

But Paul, you didn’t answer my question, would you do the same thing for your children? Another way of asking, would you do things the same way as god is doing it today?

          • Paul F

I trust in the full authority and Will of GOD. HIS WAYS are perfect, our ways are full of error. Yes, i wold do things today just as GOD are allowing them to be done for HIS WAYS are absolutely perfect and someday we will see why. Right now we live by faith alone.

          • HumbleAmerican

Then with that being said, I would think that you, and the other followers of the bible, would be rejoicing that the world is filled with abominations. According to the word, all of that has to come to pass before the coming of Jesus, and if you do anything to prevent those abominations, you are essentially preventing his return, would that be correct? Kind of like what ISIS is doing, trying to create the Caliphate, for their own end time prophecies to be filled. And of course, the Jews also claim that everything is going according to their prophecies as well. The fact that all three religions are going according to their interpretation, I find interesting.

          • Paul F

No one rejoices when YAHWEH’S Word is violated and the world is filled with abomination. YAHWEH didn’t create HIS world to be like this, the heart of man chose to become as it is now. Only YESHUA can restore Righteousness and Justice now for the heart is man is demonic, self-serving and wicked. Man can not do a single thing to change YAHWEH’S Spoken word, we pray for the lost instead and try and shine as a light in the darkness. This does not change what YAHWEH said would happen, we simply try and lead people to YESHUA’S Heart. YAHWEH has spoken and HIS every single word will come to pass.

        • Gay Veteran

you need to deliver yourself from ignorance.
and don’t you have a street corner to pray loudly at?

          • Paul F

Seek YESHUA MESSIAH while you still can for GOD doesn’t want any to perish but all to repent.

          • Gay Veteran

like I said: don’t you have a street corner to pray loudly at?

          • Paul F

I will pray for your lost soul.

          • Gay Veteran

            loudly at a street corner.

best pray for a cure to your ignorance

  • HumbleAmerican

#37 – when a blog, who has the right to post information as they please, moderates comments by their readers and denies the comments, even though the comments are not derogatory. This has taken place on this very site, how about the free speech and supporting the constitution you speak of?

    • sayin

A lot of blacklisted words, including words in the Bible.

    • Donald Wilson

Right on, I’ve posted numerous times and had said posts denied. This site is BS when it comes to so called “FREE SPEECH.”

    • VigilanteCaregiver

He is: Mike owns the site. That’s Constitutional.

      • HumbleAmerican

I have no problem with the site, or Mike owning it. It is when blogs want to post information, ask for comments, and then moderates comments, and at times, denies comments when they are not derogatory in nature, but only provide an opinion. If he only wants comments they agree with his opinion, then he needs to start a membership like the rest of the greedy hypocrites that exist. I don’t agree with everything he posts, but I don’t disagree with everything as well. I like to have conversations with people who like to express their views, possibly learn from them, and perhaps provide an out of the box opinion myself.

  • jsmith

Looks like the tribe’s agenda for the United States is working, and 99.9% of the people don’t even have a clue.

  • James

#16 There are more car thefts in the United States than anywhere else in the world by far.

How is concealed carry and the guns everywhere tactic going?

    • shots = autism

Also probably more cars than anywhere else in the world.

      • James

        Very true
        More cares=More car theft

  • James

#21 In 2013, women earned 60 percent of all bachelor’s degrees that were awarded that year in the United States.

How is this something bad. Women can go have an education and not be baby factories. This is bad?!

    • Gay Veteran

      bad to the patriarchal people

      • James

        BO HO.
        Society has integrated

    • Pat RIOT

a bachelor’s degree in cultural studies is slightly less useful than Charmin

      • James

A bachelor degree in biotech is as useful as Viread to people with HIV/Hep B

    • Roman Hamilton

Tell that to your children (if you have any) when the Muslims and Africans can in some cases out breed Americans at ratios as high as 15 to 1. Yeah, let’s have the third world women be the “baby factories” and see how that works out for you. Women need to be caring mothers and wives and not exposed to all of the crap in the work place.

Wake up before the non-sense you peddle creates an uninhabitable world.

Also, open your eyes and quite acting like a fool.

      • James

Yes developing countries have higher birth rates then developed countries due to children being seen as assests rather than liabalities. See agriculture vs service industries
This statistic does not differentate between religion, see Armenia and Brazil.

Also, women working. Office politics would occur to both male and females. As for declining parenting quality, it is inherintely subjective and no data to support your claim

        • Incognito Jay

The problem is in Western societies money takes on a big importance to move up the ladder socially especially the need for debt. The average middle class family needs to take out loans to send their kids to college, meaning borrowed money that has to be paid back with interests over time for a risky investment. You aren’t guaranteed that job but you are guaranteed the loaners wanting their money. Then on top of education you need to pay for a house, car, etc., and it’s a vicious expensive cycle and children add on to the costs.

In Third World societies however people grow their own food and feel no pressures to borrow money for a risky gamble. They’re still hungry and way worse educated but their lives are lower maintenance than American lives.

  • James

#29 According to a survey that was just released within the last 30 days, only 29 percent of Americans want to cut off federal funding for Planned Parenthood even after all of the shocking undercover videos that were released this year.
    The videos were beyond belief.
In fact, all investigations into planned parenthood were dropped because they would waste tax dollars or found nothing conclusive.

    • corporate news lies

The 29 percent stat comes from USA Today so is most likely made up. USA Today is part of Gannett CORPORATION which controls a lot of newspapers.

      • James

Since when was Gannett corporation a company known for lying.
Most media is controlled by companies.
The New York Times and Wall Street Journal are respected for their content but still controlled by companies, NYSE:NYT and NYSE:NWSA
        Gannett is NYSE:GCI

        Your point?

        • corporate news lies

The corporate news lies, therefore I will not believe the 29 percent finding.

  • James

#28 Today, the United States has the highest STD infection rate in the entire industrialized world.

Maybe you should start allowing contraception.
How is abstience only education working?

    • Paul Patriot

Not good, because people are not being told the most important reason they should abstain.

    • shots = autism

Also this statistic doesn’t really show that America is bad because we have 321,216,397 people, which is a lot more people then MANY other nations.

      • James

        Very true.

      • jaxon64

hence the word “rate”…reading comprehension is a terrible thing to waste………

        • shots = autism

Actually It’s probably Sweden. Since Islamists arrived violent crime has increased by 300% and rapes by 1,472%. Sweden is now
number two on the list of rape countries, surpassed only by Lesotho in Southern Africa.
So Sweden likely has the highest STD rate.

    • Tatiana Covington

      Just don’t bother with sex.

    • Joe

Contraception doesn’t always work James…your going to tell me a birth control pill stops std’s?

I’ve appreciated most of your comments but this one doesn’t hold up. No even a condom can prevent all std’s amigo! Abstinence however somehow does have this mysterious way of working!! Hmm….crazy to think that if everyone stopped sleeping with everyone than we would have less problems on the std front!

  • James

#23 There are more than 4 million xxadut oriented sites on the Internet, and they get more traffic than Netflix, Amazon and Twitter combined.

if you are going to mention that, please mention that Netflix,Amazon, and Twitter are three sites that account for less than 3% of traffic. If .xxadut sites take more than 3% of traffic, I am not suprised.

  • Gay Veteran

we live in a fascist country (fascism is the merger of state and corporate powers)

  • James

#26 In 1950, less than 5 percent of all babies in America were born to unmarried parents. Today, that number is over 40 percent.

    Society changes, big deal.
Religon becomes less important, big deal.
No one can prove that Christanity is true.

    • Vince Snitterton-Lewis

No one can prove that atheism is true

      • James

No one can prove god is true or that gods don’t exist.
That is why I am agnostic

        • mitch

“Religon becomes less important, big deal.”
Correction. Make that religion Christianity and it does become a big deal. In that vacuum, Islam will gladly fill the void and it is doing so. Once Islam is the primary religion, there will be no athiests, gays. or liberals.
Your mindset will be your own demise….sadly you will take us with you.

      • Joe

That doesn’t even make sense! How do you prove that the belief in nothing is actually something??

Atheism…without theism…what’s to prove? Prove an atheist believes nothing?
I’m confused with your attempt at a question you thought was probably logical

    • freend

The last people who denied God and made atheism the law of the land–communists– murdered over 120,000,000 of their own people…That is why happens when vile, narcissistic, arrogant, iniquitous people deny the sanctity of human life…….History is very interesting and relevant……….

      • James

Good, I don’t believe that anything should be a government mandated belief or religion however I do believe that governments should make their decisions off of data and not off of religion

        • GetReal4U2

make their decisions off of data…
like all the “global warming” data? I’ll take the Word of God over “paid” scientist…but hey…remember…it’s our number one threat…lmao!

          • James

            PS, all science requires funding.
PS Chevron, Exxon, and Arch Coal all have scientists too, better funded than government scientists.
Unpaid scientists are simply high school students looking to beef up their college resumes

      • iris

        good point!

    • Paul Patriot

      Society changes, big deal????

Do you think society is better off when 40% of children are born to unmarried parents or 5% are born to unmarried parents? Which statistic do you think will offer a healthier society?

The answer is very logical and will not take much common sense to arrive at the correct answer.

Your comments, however, indicate that lack logical thinking, and lack of knowledge of history.

      • James

        I really don’t care.
Nuclear families are a new idea

    • Joe

And who’s the man that has proven it isn’t?

    • shots = autism

I agree the government should NOT be involved in relationships like marriage. None of their business!!

      • iris

agreed. I think most of their involvement has to do with another way to tax people.

    • jaxon64

Yet numbers don’t lie—children of unmarried parents are over 300% more likely to live in poverty, use drugs, become incarcerated and/or commit suicide.

      • iris

Yes, the numbers bear up for the family comprised of one man one woman living together in marriage vs any other type of family arrangement, across the board. Those children score far better on IQ, mental health, physical health, education level, wages and salaries, less drug use, less violent crime.

    • Roman Hamilton

Then you need to go back and read the old Testament where 100’s of prophecies were given detailing the coming Messiah. The bible is 100% accurate and even the Romans wrote about Christ and Hebrew history.

Wake up, before you have to give up your soul for the payment of stupidity.

      • James

So explain the lack of geologic evidence for Noah’s Arch.
Also what did the animals eat, why are there not random animal fossils in random places, the specalized habitats that some animals live in that would require specalized equipment that was not made during biblical times, and how every animal even ones that cannot move that far could get to Noah’s boat.

Also explain how earth can be made in 7 days when radioative dating disproves your theory.

  • James

Going to church and believing the bible won’t make you rich, productive, pay off your debts, get you cheap stuff, make the S&P 500 go up, etc.

I can’t believe people believe Noah’s arc is true despite the fact that there is no geologic data to support that fact.

    • Hannah Hetherington

Noah did not have a curved line.

      • James

There is no geologic evidence it exists/land movements/etc.
There is no palentologic evidence/ random animal bones everywhere

        • Paul Patriot

Yes there is, the question is, are you willing to put your biased presuppositions aside and be open the fact that the story of Noah and the flood are true?

          • iris

Yes, Darwinists have gotten caught substituting pig bones for hominid, claiming they’re human, the idea of creating a whole dinosaur out of a very few bones found, plus, carbon dating for that far back, is iffy at best, and has been proven so. You, know, we just weren’t there to prove this theory, and highly respected scientists doubt its validity, yet it continues to be taught as proven fact. Micro evolution, or adaptation, certainly happens, but just ask a geologist, major changes can happen in thousands of years, but they can also occur in seconds to hours. Yet, we continue to claim we have all the answers. There are far too many disparities present in the theory to qualify it continuing to be taught as fact. I think there really was a flood across the earth at one point. And, just because we don’t have the ark now, doesn’t mean it didn’t rest where God said it did. It was thousands of years ago. A lot can happen in that time.

          • Joe

Let’s put this to rest folks…google the ark and you will see science has found it and proven it right down to carbon dating. Now, with that said the debate from the haters will go on but that’s like arguing the sky isn’t blue…there’s always the one that takes that view! However, the arks there, it’s been found, science has proven it…chalk that argument up as a fail!

          • Gay Veteran

hey, I saw that video about the ark. Watched it right after that video about the alien autopsy at Area 51. It was on the internet, it has to be true!

          • VigilanteCaregiver

Here’s something else: evolution believers, when confronted with the fossil record of no steady evolution taking place, claim that macro-evolution (Darwin’s idea) comes in fits and starts. That nature sustains what’s evolved for a while in a genetic stasis. This stasis preserves the existing species to prevent mass extinctions from occurring regularly. Kinda like how Noah saved all life in the ark – evolution saves all life through stasis. Of course, that’s only speculation and making excuses for their pseudoscience to get public funding (their idea of tithing).

So, here’s the question: have they found Darwin’s ark yet? :)

          • iris

            (:

          • James

Because Darwin’s theory is common sense and is provable with genetics.
The animals most suited for their enviornment will pass on their genes to offspring and such those genes will become dominant.

Common sense and proved by genetics is a total lie. The theory isn’t even much a theory; “What survives, survives.” That’s not a theory.

Genetics is disproving evolution as evolution cannot in any way, shape, or form create quadnairy information. Claiming that snowflake arrangements can explain it doesn’t work as organization is not the same as information – especially such complex and specific information in the genome. The odds for evolving functional data is 1:10 to the 195 power – that’s absolutely @#$%ing ridiculous to claim that evolution can work with this kind of odds against it (the number of atomic structures in the Milky Way Galaxy are estimated at 10 to the 78 power). For every functional protein structure (proteins require not just material to function – they also need the correct shape) there are 10 to the 77th power structures that forces the protein to fail. Genetic information for a organism to even function requires 250 DNA sequences – that requires the organism to suddenly evolve from inorganic non-living matter into a living organism with 250 genetic sequences with no time at all. That is all too specific for randomness and wishful thinking to create.

Seriously, did you even read any of the new discoveries of the last 250 years? Let me guess – you skimmed “Origin of Species”, or read someone’s footnotes on it. How someone can believe such fairy tales is incredible!

What survives, survives and passes its genes to the next generation so much so that genes most valuable become most commonplace.

Data is everywhere including bacterial samples.
            Especially bacterial samples

If evolution is not true explain antibiotic resistance, and differentating virus genomes,

Please don’t tell me god created Hepatitis B to punish people who use dirty public restrooms or god created SARS to kill people.

            Try genetics

          • James

As for the hoaxes, genetic testing and scientific inquiry exposed them.

Carbon dating is not iffy, maybe you should learn math.

No genes do not change in minutes unless they are injected, ex not natural selection.

            Ark did not exist

          • James

Am I willing to put mounting scientific data aside and be open to a book written 10,000 years ago written by who knows who?

          • James

Do you have data/ and or explantation that does not require the bible?

Also what did Noah do to rather immobile animals such as the mayfly or ones that require very specalized enviornemts such as coral considering the technology did not exist?

What did the animals eat, how are there not random bones,

        Nice! :)

#32 One survey of 50-year-old men in the U.S. found that only 12 percent of them said that they were “very happy”.

Old white men are unhappy because society has gotten integrated, liberal, and less pious.

    I am gleeful.

    • Jodie Lynn Gaeta

That’s one hell of a presupposition. Unless you’ve got some polls to back it up: “Mr. Smith, why are you unhappy?” “Because there are a lot of foreign immigrants around, people aren’t as conservative as they used to be, and they don’t go to church.”

  • James

#25 When LBJ’s “War on Poverty” began, less than 10 percent of all U.S. children were growing up in single parent households. Today, that number has skyrocketed to 33 percent.

Single parent home does not mean poverty

#15 One recently published study found that one out of every six young Americans has stolen something during the past year.

How are your guns for self defense.
What happened to everyone with a CHL?

The earth changes. Climate cycles can last for hundreds of years at least, with sub cycles in those. Some Geologists do note a common strata, time wise, across most of the earth, which they say could possibly be explained by a world wide event of flooding.

    • James

There is no geologic evidence for worldwide flooding, ex abnormal tree growth and soil composisition, etc.

Also, temperature testing shows that the earth is only warming up recently from the past 10,000 years, coral testing shows bleaching never occured in current quantities, and sea level rise is a relativtly new phenoma

      • iris

Are you a geologist or a climatologist with a degree in the fields, James? There are such who would disagree with you.

As far as global warming goes, it is more likely to be naturally, cyclically formed, according to several of the truly top scientists in the field, but many under their pay grade have and will their jobs for refusing to be politically correct. The global warming meeting fiasco which occurred in Brussels within the last year or so, involved the pc folks in lies and misinformation brought forward by hackers who published their e-mails. During the meeting, the industrialized countries created loopholes and extensions for themselves while insisting that the developing countries toe the line on all fronts, which caused them to walk out. Something tells me this is more about an excuse for power than anything else. Remember, Al Gore invented the internet.

Do we need to steward our planet well? Absolutely, and there are things that need to change. But tptb shouldn’t be messing with national sovereignty, etc.

        • iris

should have said will lose their jobs.

        • James

By the way, please stop mentioning the government as a perpetrator of climate change promotion.
The government includes wacos such as Sn Infoe, and Cruz.

  • mamatiger92

How in the hell is #21 a negative?

    • Wallace B…

I fail to see it too… I HOPE that the author is just implying that most men nowadays are being incompetent in getting proper education, which is bad for the nation development.. Apart from that, I don’t find reason to cite that item

    • smooze

Because the American male is being dumbed down and turned into a woman with balls. Gotta be sensitive. Screw that. Off topic but I recently had to go through mandatory PC, sensitivity training for work. See I make a point to call effeminate men dude or man. Same goes for the manly woman. “The MENS restroom is right there” etc.

    • VigilanteCaregiver

Because women aren’t getting jobs afterwards.

The reasons why are numerous, but the majority are not working by choice.

    • Zenithon

Do the math. If women earn 60% of all bachelor degrees, then that means men earn 40% of them. This means that there are 50% more women graduating with bachelor degrees then men. Ask yourself this question, if the roles were reversed, would there be an outcry that women are not being properly educated in this country? It is a negative because this has been a problem for quite awhile now and nobody is talking about it. At the local state college where I live, women & men enrollment has been close to this same ratio for over a decade, that is 60% women and 40% men, yet all I ever hear about is programs to get more and more women educated. When did the boys & men in this nation quit mattering?

  • Contrarianthefirst

#34 As you read this article, there are 102.6 million working age Americans that do not have a job.

  • Dave

Maybe you need to read the word of God! Natural disasters will increase like Jesus said!! Mathew 24:5.

  • rich cee

I would say that #21 is not bad, but it does imply that only 40% were males that completed the degree in 2013, and maybe further implying that the number of males completing that degree in general, are declining.

Yep: all blamed on American democracy… even though we’re a Constitutional Republic, not a democracy.

      • MaxRockatansky33

And how many millions were killed by neocon military industrial complex? And those are mostly civil wars. And how many more wars were created by US or how many countries were attacked/intervened by NATO? So called war on terror is an another example of double standarts and hypocrisy. Supporting al-kaida and isis in Syria while bombing them in Afghanistan or Pakistan. Libya, Syria, Second Iraq war, Ukraine. You name it.

        • VigilanteCaregiver

That was as many as I could find. Don’t like it; not my problem.

          • MaxRockatansky33

            No, it’s OK.

  • VigilanteCaregiver

I already covered #28. STD’s are on the rise due to misuse of human sexuality. How many times have I stated: we were not designed for sodomy and fornication; human male seed contains autoimmune suppressants that work anywhere it’s placed (this was meant to partially shutdown the woman’s defenses so the egg can be fertilized); staying within the sexually closed system of traditional marriage protects both partners.

Abstinence programs by government are ineffective as they don’t teach the full spectrum of human biology, nor do they instruct on the morality and virtues of traditional marriage ideals. If they did, they’d get sued by the numerous groups that vie for greater influence! So, the kids remain ignorant of STD’s and other needed aspects of their reproductive education. Is it any wonder why the Utah Health Department automatically assumes all children over the age of 9 already lost their virginity?!

And then there’s the groups that (skip to the next paragraph if you’re a lightning rod for controversy) intentionally seek out STD exposure. Not just the homosexual sub-culture called “bug chasing”, but some folks actually seek out infected fornication partners for the thrill of possible exposure.

Want to stop STD’s? Good luck! They’re too popular.

A nation proclaiming itself great is smack of arrogance, hubris.
Greatness is more meaningful if proclaimed by independent outsiders, historians.
There are many forms of national greatness. The Mongol Empire of the 11th century is certainly great. It conquered huge landmass that belonged to other people, and killed a great many people. But this is not how greatness is measured in the 21st century.
Greatness today is measure by degree of outsider admiration, copied or adopted.
So name one big thing which the world admire or copied that’s truly original American.

The problem with the prison population is the number is being inflated by people who are only in on drug charges instead of people that actually belong there. When you create too many laws of course you’re going to have too many criminals. Minimalism is applied to the detriment of architecture and web design’s artistic integrity (the only houses that get mourned when destroyed are very old, no one cares if a house built in the 1950’s and later gets demolished) due to an appeal to efficiency. Why not simply relocate minimalism where it belongs, the law code.

Laws against theft, murder, fraud, coercion, and force are obviously necessary as those have victims. There are better ways of dealing with America’s drug problem (if American life were so great then why do people feel the need for a mental escape…)
