50 Facts From 2014 That Are Almost Too Crazy To Believe2014 was quite a bizarre year, wasn’t it?  The past 12 months brought us MH370, Ebola, civil war in Ukraine, civil unrest in Ferguson, the rise of ISIS and the fall of the Democrats in the midterm elections.  Our world is becoming crazier and more unstable with each passing day, and I have a feeling that things are going to accelerate greatly in 2015.  But for the moment things are relatively quiet as much of the world stops to celebrate the holiday season, so now is a good time to look back and see where we have been over the past year.  The facts that I am about to share with you sound false, but they are all quite true.  If you doubt any of these facts, just click the link on the number to find the source.  It has been said that truth is stranger than fiction, and that was definitely the case during the past 12 months.  In no particular order, the following are 50 numbers from 2014 that sound fake but that are actually real…

2.5 – Researchers have discovered that characters in cartoons for children are 2.5 times more likely to die than characters in adult dramas.  But as long as those characters look cute and make funny noises it must be okay.

$4.20 – The price of ground beef just hit a brand new record high of $4.20 a pound.  Exactly 10 years ago, it was just $2.21 a pound.  What do you think Clara Peller would say about this?

19.8 percent – This holiday season, nearly 20 percent of all American families are on food stamps.  But since the stock market is soaring, most of the rest of the country doesn’t seem to care.

$20 – If you want to “lock down that new man for Christmas”, you can buy a positive pregnancy test on Craigslist for just 20 dollars.

29.0 years – The average age when a man in America first gets married has reached an all-time high of 29.0 years.  Thus the need for the fake pregnancy tests.

31.1 percent – An astounding 31.1 percent of all U.S. young adults in the 18 to 34-year-old age bracket are currently living with their parents.  But the good news is that demand for tacky basement decor is at an all-time high.

33 percent – According to the Wall Street Journal, close to one-third of all Americans have a file in the FBI’s master criminal database.

34.6 percent – According to the CDC, 34.6 percent of all men in America officially meet the criteria for being obese.

36 – At this point only 36 percent of the U.S. population can name all three branches of government.

43 – The new EPA regulations issued while Barack Obama has been president are 43 times as long as the entire Bible.

45 percent – One survey discovered that 45 percent of all Americans “dread” the Christmas season.

48 percent – Only 48 percent of Americans can immediately come up with $400 in emergency cash without borrowing it or selling something.

50 – An MIT research scientist is warning that if current trends continue 50 percent of all children in America will be autistic by the year 2025.

50 percent – Half of all college graduates in America are still financially dependent on their parents when they are two years out of college.

52 percent – According to a survey that was conducted earlier this year, 52 percent of all Americans cannot even afford the house that they are currently living in right now.

54 percent – For the first time ever, more than half of all U.S. doctors support the legalization of assisted suicide.

57 percent – A recent NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll found that 57 percent of all Americans consider race relations in America to be “bad”.  That is the worst number in 20 years.

59 percent – One very disturbing recent poll discovered that 59 percent of Americans are in favor of torturing our prisoners.

60 percent – In the United States today, 60 percent of all bachelor’s degrees are earned by women.

64 percent – It would be a great understatement to say that pornography is popular with men in America.  This is true even among men that are supposed to be religious.  For example, one survey discovered that 64 percent of all Christian men ages 31 to 49 look at porn at least monthly.

65 percent – One shocking new poll found that 65 percent of Americans believe that the government is “broken”.  The shocking part of the survey was that it was only 65 percent.

65 percent – According to a Census Bureau report that was released in December, 65 percent of all children in America are living in a home that receives some form of aid from the federal government.

70 percent – Right now, about 70 percent of all government spending goes toward dependence-creating programs.

78 percent – According to a Pew Research Center study that was released earlier this year, 78 percent of U.S. women “want a spouse with a steady job”.  Apparently the other 22 percent want an unemployed bum that stays home all day playing video games.

85 percent – 85 percent of all artificial Christmas trees are now made in China, and there is a rumor that Santa and his elves are considering a permanent move to the Chinese city of Shenzhen.

1979 – The United States has become the nation of the “permanent emergency”.  In fact, there has been at least one “state of emergency” in effect in this country since 1979.

7,500 – The worldwide Ebola death toll has surpassed 7,500 for the first time, but most Americans seem to believe that the crisis is over.  The truth is that it may just be beginning.

20,000 – Right now McDonald’s has 14,267 locations in the United States, but payday lenders have more than 20,000.

$30,000 – According to the Social Security Administration, 52 percent of all American workers made less than $30,000 last year.

80,000 – Back in 1980, there were only about 3,000 SWAT raids conducted in the United States.  But today, there are more than 80,000 SWAT raids per year in this country.

100,000 – It is estimated that there are at least 100,000 underage sex workers in the United States.  In case you were wondering, yes that means that we are a very sick nation.

$1,000,000 – We are supposed to be a government “of the people, by the people and for the people”, but at this point more than half the members of Congress are millionaires.

1,400,000 – Thanks in large part to unchecked illegal immigration, there are now 1.4 million members of criminal gangs living in our cities.

2,400,000 – There are currently more than 2.4 million people behind bars in America, and since 1980 the number of people incarcerated in our prisons has quadrupled.

2,500,000 – According to the National Center on Family Homelessness, there are now 2.5 million homeless children in the United States.

4,000,000 – Right now there are more than 4 million adult websites on the Internet, and they get more traffic than Netflix, Amazon and Twitter combined.

9,700,000 – Almost 10 million more Americans have enrolled in Medicaid since Obamacare first launched.

15,000,000 – More than 15 million Americans have cosmetic procedures done each year, and Christmas is the busiest season of the year for plastic surgeons.

30,000,000 – In America today, more than 30 million Americans are taking antidepressants.  And keep in mind that antidepressants are only one class of pharmaceutical drug.  Overall, nearly 70 percent of all Americans are currently on at least one prescription drug according to the Mayo Clinic.

$40,000,000 – More than 40 million dollars has been spent just on vacations for Barack Obama and his family since he has been in the White House.

49,000,000 – An astounding 49 million Americans are considered to be facing food insecurity at this point.

110,000,000 – Approximately one-third of the entire population of the United States (110 million people) currently has a sexually transmitted disease according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

156,600,000 – The population of Bangladesh (156,600,000) is actually larger than the population of Russia (143,500,00).  But nobody is scared of Bangladesh.

3,000,000,000 – For the first time ever, there are now more than 3 billion people on the Internet around the globe.  I don’t know if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

$600,000,000,000 – Americans will spend more than 600 billion dollars this Christmas season.  That is an amount of money greater than the entire GDP of Sweden.

$1,200,000,000,000 – Student loan debt has hit a grand total of 1.2 trillion dollars in the United States.  That number has grown by about 84 percent just since 2008.

$2,000,000,000,000 – The war in Iraq cost U.S. taxpayers more than 2 trillion dollars, but now a radical jihadist terror organization known as ISIS controls nearly a third of the entire country.

5,000,000,000,000 – There are now 5 trillion little pieces of plastic floating around in the oceans of the world, and lots more plastic is being dumped into our oceans every single day.

$18,031,021,541,347.52 – The current size of the U.S. national debt.  It increased by more than a trillion dollars during the fiscal year that ended a few months ago, and it is on pace to approximately double during Obama’s eight years in the White House.

$40,000,000,000,000 – There are five “too big to fail” banks in the United States that each have more than 40 TRILLION dollars worth of exposure to derivatives.  This is a “sword of Damocles” that could destroy our financial system and our entire economy at any time.  Let’s just hope that it does not happen in 2015.

So what numbers would you add to this list?

When one person thinks he or she can’t accomplish anything, just remember Barack Obama has accomplished a lot while the whole of Congress (535 total) have done noting to stop him! And that is not a good thing.

    • Gay Veteran

      why would Congress stop him?

how many Iraqis died because of the h ell on earth our war of aggression started?

    • Gungurdak

The total population of Ottoman Empire in 1910 was 10 million… Where did you find that stupid number of 1.5 million Armenians? Secondly, you put the stupid period of 1915-1923. Armenians were relocated in 1916 because they were “traitors” who took sides with Russians. Armenians made massacres with their gangs and russians officers reported these crimes. Thanks to jewish communists, Imperial russian archieves are open. Go read and educate yourself. Dont believe everything they tell you as “facts”.

      • VigilanteCaregiver

I cited my source below. I did read and educate myself and these were the best figures. Don’t like it – deal with it.

9 – The number of meals under the ‘just in time system’ that could be available for each person in the UK before anarchy descends if the supermarkets cannot get new supplies to restock shelves in a crisis. In truth though anarchy would descend a lot sooner once people realized.

50% – The amount of its food approximately that the UK imports. And this is not a massive security issue?!

5 – The number of years that the UK population has to live with each corrupt paedophile -MP hiding government that gets elected.

<10% The percentage of the UK population who don't consider the BBC to be UK State Media churning out government propaganda

Why not? Americans need a serious punch to the face.

In the old days, we had something called, painting by the numbers. Well Michael, your numbers paint a picture of a dying Republic. Corrupt government at all levels. A public so uninvolved, there is almost no chance of turning this situation around. Now inspite of all the bad numbers,, and the outright depravity that exists. Let us all set it aside, for one day. Celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. For such memories will help sustain you, in the coming days.

So many dishonest people. The shocking part is that many of those claiming to be good have a lot to hide. For example, I looked into Mike Adams of NaturalNews after he hid the heavy metals findings for Garden of Life, and I was completely shocked. Here was a man claiming to help Americans, but in reality he has exported jobs, used child labor, selling spam software that beats filters, placed on a corporate advisory board in exchange for his willingness to play ball, involved with other corporate giants like Microsoft, cheating Google to make his site be #1, using deception to sell products that cause organ damage, etc. etc. No wonder comments are moderated on his site.

I rather have someone who’s honest about what they do than a hypocrite, but as this site shows we know this won’t be happening.
The autism projection is sad, especially since more states are mandating the VACCINATIONS that CAUSE AUTISM.

    • krinks

This is why I LOVE the comments section.

    • Michael from Australia

With the autism comment, theother day I noticed it on a website
that is promoting a documentary called “a new resistance”.
It shows how glyphosates (roundup) is helping to cause this.
Sorry, can’t provide a YouTube link, as I think it just came out recently. There are only interviews with the film maker.

    • hatakah

I really like Mike Adams’ site for the info I get from it, provided that I am able to sift through all the bull$hit posted there (it IS mostly an aggregate, and many of the contributing writers have NO idea what they are talking about). Having said that, I have never trusted Mike Adams himself since day one. The guy practically INVENTED spam email! How does someone with NO background in the healing arts get promoted as some sort of “authority?” Look at who his handlers are.

There are approximately 100,000,000 households in America.
$6000 spent on Christmas?? I DO NOT believe this.

    • jaxon64

I know of 3 different families who bought expensive german autos for christmas each at $70k+ and another family who purchased a new home for $500k–entirely feasible number when you factor in the top 10% spending WAY more than 6k per household–
However disbelief is always your right of choice–guess you haven’t paid for a wedding, a family vacation or given a year of paid tuition for a Christmas gift, hunh?

Hmm, the fake pregnancy tests-for-sale have been debunked. They are not for sale, AND the little color lines go away after a few hours of being exposed to air. HOWEVER, if anyone did want to get a positive pregnancy test, all you need to do is get a MAN to pee on it, or a postmenopausal woman, or a spayed/neutered pet.

The reason why this works is because the stick is treated with chemicals to differentiate between the higher estrogen/lower testosterone of a NON-pregnant girl Vs. the higher testosterone/lower estrogen of a PREGNANT girl. Men, post-menopausal women, and fixed pets all have statistically lower estrogen readings, and will trigger false positives all day.

And nobody is dumb enough to take the word of a peed-on stick, she could be pregnant by anyone. Today, nothing short of a DNA test will do.

#2 Price of Ground Beef has almost doubled. What would Clara Peller say? Well, I have not heard one stinking word of complaint from the fast food industry but just mention raising the minimum wage and it’s 3 trips around the block with their hair on fire screaming that it will be the end of them. Please explain this Fast Food Moguls!

  • Gil G

    The two “meh” ones:
    1. Ground beef is more expensive? So? It’s supply and demand. You’re not entitled to cheap ground beef.
    2. Almost a third of young adults live with their parents? It could mean they’re shiftless and lazy and they’re not willing to work hard and take risks.

Based on the rock song you mentioned it looks like you were young when Elvis made it big. The older generation before you absolutely detested wicked rock ‘n’ roll, and it was banned in many places. Your generation grew up with it and so by now it’s become perfectly acceptable. However, if it was wrong then, then it’s STILL wrong now; or if it really is okay to listen to oldies rock then the stuff current teens listen to is also okay.

The pot can’t call the kettle

I think the whole idea of “teenager in love” was to condition people in order to get them to forget what love actually is. It has been a steady downward slide ever since, and I think that was the intended goal in the first place.
      Think about it a while…

What about those hundreds of QUADRILLIONS or so of outstanding derivatives?! What about the millions of illegals living here? What about the insanely low percentage of eligible voters in ANY election who even bother?! What about the numbers of Christians being murdered and persecuted all over the globe, but especially by muzzies, commies, and Hindus?

  • Gay Veteran

so I guess we can assume you have adopted an unwanted child since you oppose abortion so much.

filthy gay marriages? my oh my, bet you miss the ban on interracial marriages too

    • paramore fan

The problem with interracial marriage is that if you take 2 people of different ethnicities their children are a lot more likely to have
physical / mental problems. This is the same equivalent as hybreeding plants—the offspring is weaker & has less nutrition & an incorrect nutrition ratio.
The people who eat it also get weaker physically & mentally. This is a big reason why 100 years ago men could lift heavy logs & have intense boxing matches but today they can’t. Today someone gets punched & dies. Man destroying himself through science!

      • Gay Veteran

        you’re comparing people to plants???

        • paramore fan

Start with ncbi(dot)nlm(dot)nih(dot)gov. A lot of the propaganda sites say there’s no difference in birth defects if the parents are different race, but studies show different. If two people from totally different cultures/races have kids then
there’s more likely to be defects—not so much the similar cultures. I know a couple where one is white & the other a dark colored guy who is totally native to India, & both of their kids have severe joint problems.

As far as Paul F goes saying stuff like “respectable” dresses, what about all the native tribes who’ve been living for thousands of years with almost no clothes on at all?
Also why do Jews dislike Jesus so much? How are we all going to get to a heaven when each religion thinks they’re right & the others are wrong?????

          • John Higson

I’m pretty sure there’s such a thing as ‘Hybrid Vigour’ or something similar? Also,if there was a correlation between ‘races'(no such thing) inter-breeding and genetic problems we’d have heard all about it a long time ago. It’s no particularly scientific I know but why is it that mixed ethnicity people tend to be so attractive?

          • Mangosteen, $1000 chair

Their attractiveness is subjective. I’ve never seen a mixed person that was attractive.

    • Paul F

All children are precious–it is ignorant like yourself who spew foolish words. YAHWEH destroyed two cities because of their filthy gay sins–and america will be no different.
Interracial marriages–color does not matter to me. I am not racist. I despise everything that breaks YAHWEH’S TORAH and I hate those who hate HIS HOLY TORAH. It’s that simple

And about old songs from the 50’s–I was making a comparison about how wicked music has become. It use to be women wore respectable dresses and men would date a girl with respect and honesty. Unfortunately, I grew up rotting my brain with weezer and green day–and now when I hear those bands my ears cringe and my brain hurts. You see, when MESSIAH YESHUA saves and delivers you, transforms you into a new man, your able to see the old man for what it really was.

I pray everyone seeks YAHWEH’S TORAH through MESSIAH YESHUA and separate yourself from the wickedness of man.

      • Jean-Claude

YAHWEH is holy and we should work out our salvation in fear and trembling.

The Old Man is fading as the world separates into two camps. The Book of Daniel says “many shall be purified.” Sounds like that is happening for you and this is what God wants.

      • Shamboodatay

Psalms are always good in these times.

        • Paul F

          Yes, they are.

      • Gay Veteran

“All children are precious–it is ignorant like yourself who spew foolish words….”

so are you saying YOU have adopted?

“…YAHWEH destroyed two cities because of their filthy gay sins–and america will be no different.
Interracial marriages–color does not matter to me. I am not racist….”

riiiiiiiiight, and there was a flood that destroyed the world. bilge.

you words are void of any meaning and truth. you’re simply a whiner. YAHWEH’S HOLY WORD has stood since the beginning of creation and will strand long after you are dead and rotted away. This is fact. Enough said.

            hey Pharisee, adopt any kids?

you’re pathetic, try thinking for yourself for once!

    • Jean-Claude

One of the very best things about gay people is that they don’t murder their unborn children.

This comment about ”filthy gay marriages” should not have been made. Some of the very best people I know are gay: they are against abortion, totally against illegal drugs, they understand America is like Ancient Rome and is falling … they are insightful and aware people.

Christians need to stop lumping all gay people in the same box together as if they are all wearing hot pants walking to a bathhouse or something like that. I think a lot of these attacks stem from the imagery promoted by the gay parades.

I am not gay but all normal people need to work together to address the problems of our crumbling nation. Gay people often are well educated, have money, good business ideas (look at Chipolte) and so forth. Attacking them in broad strokes is not helpful to the national good. We need the successful gays to help rebuild the society. If you sent smart, rich and creative gays to Detroit, they could probably rebuild that city in a decade.

      • WorldWideWeird

Its called bigotry, just ignore those old monsters until they die.

      • talkNerdyToM3

Not all Christians “lump all gay people together”, I’m a Christian and have many gay friends(and my best friend is Bi). There are only sinners and forgiven sinners, there is no need to single out gay people because everyone sins. Jesus loves everyone.

Oh boy. In the 50’s it was, “some of my best friends are Jewish.” In the 60’s it was, “Some of my best friends are black.” Now, it’s “Some of my best friends are gay.” Next, it will be “Some of my best friends are muslim.”
Go to the US Gov statics, actuary tables. The average male lives to age 75 in America, give or take a few years. If he smokes, you can subtract 10 years, 65. If they participate in the “happy gay lifestyle you can take an additional 10 years off, 55. That is your definition of “smart, rich, creative”? Send them to Detroit and they will get what they deserve. P.S. the muslims have an interesting way of dealing with “successful, smart?, rich gays.” And they are growing at an exponential rate compared to the non productive degenerate gays.

re: $2 Trillion cost of Iraq War. 1st, government accounting and government statistics are as broken as our healthcare system. Two trillion sounds like a government statistic. On a wild guess, I’d start by doubling that.
Then there is the methodology for accounting (cost/benefit is a better method, which includes externalities): What about interest on the 2 trillion in debt? What about the cost of homeland security? What about all the check points in the airports and the thousands of hours of delays? What about our lost freedoms? What about the fact that the results were actually negative?

The numbers you provide tell a story.
I have seen this same story in Britain prior to World War II.
What has changed? The people responsible for the downfall of Britain simply moved to the United States and continued business as usual.
Now it has become the United States turn of the wheel.
I remember in the 50s some judge saying “ignorance of the law is no excuse.” But what if it is logistically impossible to even read the law? EPA law is an fine example you have provided as being new regulations longer than the entire Bible. Well in the 90s, one writer wanted a copy of the entire EPA law. Ten truckloads of paper arrived at his doorstep shortly after he requested that.
In the computer business, programmers have a saying. KISS.
It means Keep It Simple Stupid!
The IRS is generating regulations at a healthy rate also.
I maintain that any law that becomes so complicated that no person can keep track of it is basically against our entire system of laws. It is not constitutional. Neither can it be, if even a judge can not sort through what is law and what is not.
The entire Healthcare law is now wrapped around an enormous amount of regulation by the IRS.
Does anyone really know what the regulations contain?
The biggest mistake made by the U.S. Government in the last 50 or more years is the growth of a welfare system that encourages people to sit back on the government dole and not do anything.
That system is totally out of control.
Soon those people working will be at a disadvantage because it simply will not pay to work. The healthcare system rewards those on welfare and penalizes anyone that works.
The carrot has always been that someday you will be a success and live a decent lifestyle with money in the bank. But the entire system guarantees that anything you make in life will go away when every you get a serious illness in this country. So why would any intelligent person consider working for a living? Pride? Control of your life?

I spent approximately a third of my life working. A third of my life was spent sleeping(8 hours a night), and a third of my life taking care of home and family.
Michael, you are right. The entire system has become somewhat of a farce. When a CEO makes fantastic amounts of money for doing next to nothing, when a worker cannot even get a decent wage or decent working conditions, then something is definitely very wrong and that same something is going to have to change.
When the health care industry regulates and forces people to be insured and the courts support that, then something is very wrong.
Part of the problem is the rules governing us all.

    The rules have to work.
Right now that is very questionable.

  • Call me macabre but this was the best thing I read this Christmas. Thanks Michael. You rock!

One of the single best comments I have ever read in my life. America has become a disease God must wipe out.

    • WorldWideWeird

You must have had a short life so far if that’s the best you’ve seen. We dont need God to help, people can and have wiped out Empires all by themselves.

  • Stomp Em In the Nuts

“59 percent – One very disturbing recent poll discovered that 59 percent of Americans are in favor of torturing our prisoners.”

Hey, a lot of them do deserve that. 300 years or 9 life sentences is just not going to give them justice.

What the gov would do with an authorization to do just that is another thing.
22% of women who do not divorce their husbands simply because he has lost his job. Avoid marrying women who demands you pay for everything “because you are the man” or try to cut you off from friends and relatives, you´ll be sorry if you do.
3 billion, at least the muzzies will be too busy with pr0n and facebook updates to care about jihad and burn their females faces off with acid.

The 144,000 are Jews. 12,000 from each tribe.
Father God always kept a remnant. You do not know their function for that hour because,
You do not divide the Word correctly.
The 144,000 has little to do with goyim (gentiles), beyond the fact that the age of goyim Grace has been fulfilled. Hence the REVELATION of Jesus Christ, ( To the children of Israel).
They were blinded so that all of mankind could be saved.

    Happy New Year!!!

Its all very simple regarding our children. From birth they are coddled and told how perfect they are insulated from the real world until they actually believe that they are truly special and one of a kind. Our society accepts mediocrity from our children as witnessed by the educational system that we tolerate. Teachers unions are destroying our schools along with help from the Federal Govt., but don’t be overly concerned about our future as a country because it won’t be much longer before there isn’t any more money to go around to those who will not work, and it doesn’t appear that there are any politicians on the horizon willing to stop this self destruction. Any bettors?

If children are born with defects it is not mixed races that caused it. Look at the genetically altered food sources, aluminum, barium, and mercury in your food and the air you breath!! Monsanto, George Soros, Bill Gates, the Bushes, the Clintons, the Royalty in Britain, and all those nasty Federal Banker owners are your enemies. Blacks miss-behaving is part of the elites agenda and they are too brain dead from gmo food and drug abuse to realize they are living on a slave plantation …. Wake up!

Jesus taught people to love, the most important commandment is to love your neighbors… Hate will only turn others off from Christianity, Jesus was not hateful he only showed love

Yeah, He really loved the money changers. He drove them out with a whip.

Correction, the total abolishment of abortion first along with national repentance and prayer. Nothing changes until abortion ends.
