40 Signs That America Is Rotting From The Inside Out

It would be easy to know how to defend America if enemy forces were invading our shores.  But how do you defend a nation that is rotting from the inside out?  How do you eradicate the internal decay that is eating away at the heart and soul of this nation a little bit more every single day?  Just like we saw happen with the Roman Empire, the internal rot that is eating its way to the surface threatens to bring us down as a nation.  Greed, corruption, gluttony, lust and pride have become national pastimes.  We are addicted to debt, food, entertainment and pleasure.  We have been taught to hate those that look different from us or that believe different things than we do.  Society is literally coming apart at the seams and the federal government is increasingly implementing “Big Brother” security measures in an attempt to maintain control and keep us “safe”.  We have far more people in prison than any other nation on the planet and yet things just keep getting worse and worse.  So how can we fix America?  How do we rescue a nation that is rotting from the inside?

It is absolutely crucial that we acknowledge just how bad things have gotten.  Simply getting the right political party into power will not save America.  Neither will implementing a new political system or a new economic system.  America’s problems are deeper than that.  The very core of America is deeply sick, and once we admit that, then perhaps we will start focusing on some real solutions.

The following are 40 signs that America is rotting from the inside out….

#1 A secret panel of government officials can now put American citizens on a “kill list”.  A recent Reuters article explained that no law established this secret panel and that there are no laws which govern it….

There is no public record of the operations or decisions of the panel, which is a subset of the White House’s National Security Council, several current and former officials said. Neither is there any law establishing its existence or setting out the rules by which it is supposed to operate.

#2 It is on record that the federal government facilitated the sale of thousands upon thousands of very powerful guns to Mexican drug cartels.  The Mexican government was never told about this operation.  U.S. border agents have been shot with these guns, and these guns have been involved in dozens of murders already in Mexico.  Mexican drug cartels will continue to kill people with these guns for many years to come.  The Obama administration is working incredibly hard to cover up this scandal and the mainstream media is mostly ignoring the story.

#3 The other day, CBS News reporter Sharyl Attkisson shared with radio show host Laura Ingraham that Obama administration officials have yelled at her and cussed at her for aggressively investigating Operation Fast and Furious.  This must have created a lot of waves, because now CBS News has now put her on lockdown and has made her unavailable for interviews.

#4 A host of other recent examples show that if you are associated with the mainstream media in any way and you make a “politically incorrect” comment, you will be given the boot so fast that it will make your head swim.  For example, Hank Williams Jr. was recently booted off Monday Night Football simply because he compared Barack Obama to Hitler.

#5 At the current protests in New York City, police are beating people with clubs and shooting pepper spray in their faces.  As the economic crisis gets even worse and protests spread and become more intense in future years, will all of America soon look like this?

#6 The United States has the highest incarceration rate in the world and the largest total prison population on the entire globe.

#7 The other day, a group of thieves stole a 50 foot long bridge in Pennsylvania.  Yes, you read that correctly.  They stole the entire bridge.

#8 Criminals seem willing to steal just about anything that is not bolted down these days.  For example, a group of thieves has stolen more than 1,000 pigs from farms in Minnesota and Iowa in recent months.

#9 Class warfare is certainly rising to a new level in this nation.  Recently, Roseanne Barr said that it would be a good idea for some bankers to “go to the reeducation camps“.

#10 Michael Moore is warning that the economic riots that we are starting to see around the country could potentially become violent in the future….

“The smart rich know they can only build the gate so high. And, and, sooner or later history proves that people when they’ve had enough aren’t going to take it anymore. And much better to deal with it nonviolently now, through the political system, than what could possibly happen in the future, which nobody wants to see”

#11 Have we become a socialist nation?  At this point, nearly half of all Americans live in a household that receives some form of government benefits.

#12 From the time George Washington became president until January 1993, the United States government accumulated a national debt of $4.16 trillion.  Since Barack Obama entered the White House, more than $4.2 trillion has been added to the national debt.

#13 Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke recently warned Congress not to cut “too much” from the federal budget right now.

#14 According to one recent report, the EPA wants to hire 230,000 more bureaucrats that will help enforce all of the new greenhouse gas regulations that the EPA plans to implement.

#15 There are more than 3 million reports of child abuse in the United States every single year.

#16 Horrifying brawls involving groups of young people are breaking out all over the nation.  For example, check out this disturbing footage of a brawl that recently broke out during a football game in California.

#17 All over the nation, little children are being publicly arrested by police in their own classrooms and are being marched out of their schools in handcuffs.

#18 In some areas of the country, law enforcement officials are now using “extraction devices” to download data from the cellphones of motorists that they pull over.

#19 In the United States today, it is estimated that one out of every four girls is sexually abused before they become adults.

#20 Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson recently declared that it if your spouse develops Alzheimer’s disease, it is okay to divorce them.

#21 The United States has the highest divorce rate on the globe by a wide margin.

#22 Children in the United States are three times more likely to be prescribed antidepressants as children in Europe are.

#23 Former U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld recently stated that “extremism in Christianity” is a significant danger to the United States.

#24 More pornography is created in the United States than anywhere else on the entire globe.  89 percent is made in the U.S.A. and only 11 percent is made in the rest of the world.

#25 Vanderbilt University has ruled that five on-campus Christian groups have violated Vanderbilt’s non-discrimination policy because they will not allow people that do not believe in Christianity to become leaders in the groups.

#26 Globally, the United States is tied with the U.K. for the most hours of television watched per person each week.

#27 According to NationMaster.com, the United States has the highest percentage of obese people in the world.

#28 The federal government recently sued a company down in Texas for firing a 600 pound worker.

#29 Are American students getting dumber?  This year, the average score on the verbal portion of the SAT was the lowest ever recorded.

#30 The United States has more people on pharmaceutical drugs than any other country on the planet.

#31 The percentage of women taking antidepressants in America is higher than in any other country in the world.

#32 One out of every four teen girls in the United States now has an STD.

#33 Law enforcement officials estimate that about 600,000 Americans and about 65,000 Canadians are trading dirty child pictures online.

#34 There are more reported rapes in the United States each year than anywhere else in the world.

#35 Totalitarian police states used to be ridiculed in this country, but now that has all changed.  In fact, the “If You See Something, Say Something” campaign looks like it could have been pulled right out of an East German security handbook.

#36 According to a shocking FBI document obtained by Oath Keepers, the FBI definition of “suspicious activity” now includes making “extreme religious statements” and believing in “radical theology“.

#37 It is estimated that 500,000 babies that will be born this year will be sexually abused before they turn 18.

#38 In airports all over the country, the federal government is forcing large numbers of women and children to endure very offensive “enhanced pat-downs” during which their private parts are touched before they are allowed to get on to their flights.

#39 It was bad enough when the TSA was just abusing our families at the airports.  Now, TSA “VIPR teams” are conducting approximately 8,000 “unannounced security screenings” a year at subway stations, bus terminals, ports and highway rest stops.

#40 Since 1973, approximately 50 million babies have been slaughtered in the United States before they were even born.

Some of the examples above may seem unrelated at first glance, but they really are not.  The truth is that all of those examples illustrate the deep decay that has taken hold in this nation.

Sadly, hundreds more examples could easily be listed.  This country is deeply sick, and “tweaking” a couple of things or electing the right politician is not going to cure us.

America is dying and time is running out.

So what do all of you think?  Do you believe that America is rotting from the inside out?  Please feel free to leave your thoughts below….

The Beginning Of The End - The New Novel About The Future Of America By Michael T. Snyder

It is horrifying to know that this is going to get a lot worse before it gets better. The evil that is occurring is nauseating. This nation lost its way a long, long time ago.

  • Highspeedloafer

Just reading this list after reading the 100 list on the collapse blog has made me ill. At first I wanted to comment on each and every item mentioned, but then realized how futile that was.

I can only say, Get ready to meet your savior or your judge. Time is short.

    • Michael

      Sorry about that Highspeedloafer. :)

Yesterday I guess I was in a mood to hold up a mirror and show America what its true condition really is.

If people don’t understand that they are sick they will not understand that they need a doctor.

Even when not in Rome, do as the Romans do. Seems to be America’s motto, and soon to be its epitath, unfortunately.

We are rapidly going the way of the ancient Roman Empire. I haven’t read Gibbon’s masterpiece in ages (“The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire”) – but from what I can recall, all the signs are in place. We don’t have much longer. And if things don’t change real soon, America is doomed.

I wish I was more optimistic. Being a devout Marxist-Lennonist (Groucho and John, NOT Karl and Vladimir), I’m a natural optimist and try to look at the bright, sunny, not so serious side of things. But…. it’s looking bad for us right now.

  • mondobeyondo

The rot appears to be endemic, and it may be too late.

Long, long ago, back in 1972, when dinosaurs roamed the earth and some guy named Nixon was president, there were these pop groups called the Jackson Five and the Osmonds. Kind of like Justin Bieber today I suppose.

They called it “bubble gum” pop. Chirpy, catchy, innocent songs. No mention of sex. No mention of homosexuality.

Flash forward to 2011. There’s Lady Gaga. She’s got a big song out now… “Just This Way”, I think it’s called. And look, there’s Katy Perry! She had a hit song a couple years ago…”I kissed a girl and I liked it”. Sounds nice, except she’s female. A girl kissing another girl? Ummm… maybe it’s acceptable for some people, but it give me goose bumps.

One can only hope that Justin Bieber doesn’t turn to the dark side, and start singing songs about marrying his Rottweiler. You never know. We live in crazy times.

    • Tim

And to think that our President met with Lada Gaga recently! We’re really in trouble.

    • WM

Having heard the name Lady Gaga only, I never really heard her music. So, out of curiosity, this post sparked my interest….went to YouTube and found ” Born This Way” which I think may be the song you were referring to. Oh my Gosh!!!!

It is sickening that millions of youth are infactuated by this singer. The video is very sexual and dark, and how anyone could call this entertainment is beyond me. It makes me think back to when Elvis first arrived on the scene in 1956 and what a shock he caused…..but, the shock remained and our society absorbed it. Then came the Beatles….again, something new. They made such an impact on modern music, that most of the sheeple did not even see the change in their music and message once they came back from India. Their music now had a specific message, ushering in eastern mysticism, new age, and liberal thought. Everyone slept, thus allowing the poison to spread throughout our culture. I really believe it was at this point that a real paradigm shift took place in this nation, around 1967.

Satan has used music and pop culture to influence the way people think. I forget who said it, but the quote goes something like..” You change peoples thinking, you can change anything”.

There is a battle raging, and sadly we are losing. The American “church”, generally speaking, has lost its salt, light and discernment, and has become like the Laodician church. The American Christianity is mostly about peace, prosperity, comfort, seeker friendly message that is not transforming lives anymore. The modern message has losts its powere to truly transform lives. If lives are not transformed and the church looks too much like “the world”, it does not surprise me that things are getting more and more depraved each passing day. I think this is why so many non-Christians are so skeptical about “religion” and are not impressed over what they see. The Christian church needs to repent and get back to God and become more like the church as described in the books of Acts. Then and only then will we become salt and light again, and the “unbelievers” will see a real difference in our lifestyles and our message of reconciliation will be more believable because we will be living the WORD, not just going along with the motions, and rightly be called hypocrites from observers.

      • Straight veteran

Excellent observation, I agree with you completely. Remember what Jesus said about loosing your saltiness.

      • jimbobub

Don’t like lady Gaga, don’t listen to her. Don’t want to marry one of the same sex, then don’t. If you want to believe in fairy tales then do. What’s the problem? What consenting adults do in private with each other is none of your business. American Christianity is not peaceful. Ever hear of Pat Roberston and Jerry Falwell? They are the “salt” of the Earth when it comes to religion.

    • Gay Veteran

jeez, got to the 5th comment and already it’s the fault of “Teh Gays”.

      • Nexus789

Also more religious mumbo jumbo. Mumbling to imaginary entities will not solve these problems. Created by man and man will reap the consequences or find a solution.

      • Straight veteran

        Teh Gays”.

        Did you mean “The Sodomites”?

        • jimbobub

You do your religion and I’ll do my own thing. You are not going to force your fairy tales down my throat.

      • Jay

God loves Gays, but hates wickedness. Ever since “Don’t tell” was repealed homosexual rapes have increased in the military. This is a statistical fact. Now people are not so keen on joining the military.

        • jimbobub

What about heterosexual rapes? They are widespread in the military. Why no mention of that?

    • William

There is a well organized and well financed effort here in America to DESTROY Christian values and morals. That is quite easy to see. Just watch TV.

      • http://AmericanDream nursebulldog

@WILLIAM:THE ATTACK ON CHRISTIANITY IS THE WORST I HAVE EVER SEEN IT ESPECIALLY BY ATHEISTS! IS IN NOT STRANGE THEY WILL FIGHT A GOD THEY DO NOT EVEN BELIEVE IN?????YET AT THE SAME TIME THEY PROVE TO ME THE TRUTH OF CHRISTIANITY SINCE JESUS TOLD US THERE WOULD BE SCOFFERS IN THE LAST DAYS.

      • jimbobub

Why are you watching TV then? Turn the dam thing off if you don’t like it.

  • Sam

You people may not like what I say, but first of all, by this time next year, we will not have elections because we will have martial law.

    How did this come about?

First, because we let it become so. We elected people who made promises that could never be kept, “benefits” and programs funded on the backs of the middle class. A class that has now been largely destroyed by BHO and his minions.

Second, we are being punished by God. We kill the unborn for convenience, divorce rather than keep a commitment, imprison people on the flimsiest of excuses, don’t forgive, revel in porn, accept homosexuality and pedophilia as “alternative lifestyles” rather than as the culture killers they are, worship money, worship material goods, call BHO a “messiah,” euthenize the elderly, listen to phoney “preachers” instead reading the Bible to get to the real Truth, tell God to take a hike, and other stuff as well.

Until America turns back to God, we’ll be a police state next year. Now, go put on your kneepads, and worship your flap-eared “messiah.”

    • mondobeyondo

Cameroon is starting to look like a civilized country, and that is sad. Wanna know how a “president for life” stays in power?

      http://www.voanews.com/english/news/africa/Cameroons-Long-time-Leader-Likely-to-Win-Re-election-Sunday–131344758.html

But at least we have term limits in the good old USA. If Obama is fortunate enough to be re-elected in 2012 (*GASP!!*), he’ll only have 4 more years before he can’t run for president again. At least we have that to look forward to.

      • mondobeyondo

        Oh yeah, almost forgot.

Hope and Change! Change and Hope!
        Hopey Hopey! Changey Changey!

Remember, if you don’t have hope, you can’t change. Or something like that.

    • Jennifer

Why is your bible the truth? Do you know this as a fact (which is impossible) or just because you were born in a certain place on this planet that tends to believe in the bible? What if you were born in a remote island in the Pacific Ocean that had no access to white, bible believing folks…would you still believe in the bible? Question everything you are given, even your bible sweetie. Peace and Love are universal and Compassion for all people is more Godlike than the hate you are espousing here.

      • Straight veteran

Peace and Love are universal and Compassion for all people is more Godlike than the hate you are espousing here.

Since you are so big on compassion and love why are you here judging others and being critical of others beliefs? Where is your compassion?

      • Jeremy

Questioning everything is another way of avoiding, and never making any consequential decisions in life. It is OK to have a skeptical eye, but get over yourself “sweetie”.

Billions of people find hope and inspiration in God (including me), and billions of others in other faiths. People will fight for the truth of their beliefs, and the world will continue to spin, and the sun will continue to rise.

        • Sina

skeptical view PLUS curiosity is the key to success.. Christians lack the first one, atheists the second…

But the difference between you and me is that I know reality from fantasy. Besides, everyone needs a hero, right?(LOL)

hey, you forgot “man on dog sex”

as Sinclair Lewis said: “When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross.”

      • Straight veteran

hey, you forgot “man on dog sex”

I agree. Having sex with animals, children, and others of the same sex are abominations.

        • Highspeedloafer

Tells us a little about how gays think huh?

          BIG YUCKKKKKK!!!!!

    • http://AmericanDream nursebulldog

I AGREE SAM.GOD IS TIRED OF ALL OF THIS FOOLISHNESS:AND THOSE OF US THAT ARE NOT IN THE TANK WILLBE ROUNDED UP BY THE GOVERNMENT!!!

  • Guido

Guy Odom, in America’s Man On Horseback, predicted this in 1991. In it, he stated nations run on roughly 10 generation cycles of about 250 years. These cycles begin with an initial outburst of energy, a build up to a period of accomplishment, a golden age, and a period of malaise, mediocrity, and weakness ending in disaster.

Much like the 4th Turning, Odom believed there was a chance for national renewal and another 10 generation cycle, but it required the right man in the right place at the right time to make it happen.

Odom believed that man would be The Man on Horseback, a leader whom the American public would turn to to fix all their problems. This leader would be authorized any amount of power to fix our problems and, hopefully, save the nation. He would be viewed as above partisan bickering and outside the traditional system.

The hope is he would be a new Washington, but, knowing human nature, he would probably be more Napoleon. Odom writes his book in a similar vein to Machiavelli’s The Prince, in which he tries to offer advice to this future ruler on how to rule America well and what he could do to fix what ails the nation.

Odom’s suggestions are interesting, sometimes very radical, but his ultimate suggestion, how to put America on the path to greatness, involves America dumping the Republic and becoming a real empire, starting with the conquest of Mexico.

Some folks might think Obama could be this man, but I don’t think Obama is the caliber of leader that would be required. I think we’re still too soft and comfortable and things aren’t chaotic enough to justify the Man on Horseback. Odom’s guess was around 2030, although there’s no reason not to believe things will get worse in the next couple years.

    • Jeremy

Obama is a self-serving, lazy, brainless bureaucrat.

It is interesting, though, that in his inaugural address in 1981, Reagan talked about a period of “national renewal”, the same phrase used by the gentleman you cited. That period did result in a renewal in faith in this country, and the power of self-determination (in political, economic, and social outcomes).

Reagan also had a great quote in his “Evil Empire” speech, that “America would cease to be great, when it ceased to be good.” He was exactly correct, and I began to see a change in America when I was a child. It happened when I was in middle school (mid 1990s), when many of my friends and their families became completely different. Instead of caring for each other, they were out to make as much money as they could, and “keep up with the Joneses”. Most of the time this resulted in bankruptcy, broken homes, and reprobate children. I know it is dangerous to use anecdotal examples, but there was little from this point in my childhood which reminded me of the greatness of this country.

It took me, on my own initiative, reading the Federalist Papers, Thomas Jefferson’s book on Jesus of Nazareth, our Constitution, and other founding documents to remind me of the absolute greatness of this nation.

My advice to everyone on here is to maintain faith in THIS system, and work for fundamental changes to the administrative state, growing size of Washington, and moral corruption of our leaders in the 2012 elections. This change can come, and we still have control over our system. People say, for example, that Romney must be the Republican nominee because he has the most funding. We do not have to take this, though, because we can listen to the lesser-known and funded candidates.

  • Emily

Thats frightening Michael, in total we are reaching the extreme limit of moral decay. What are we going to do?

Well this is going to upset quite a few men. It will be up to the men of America to stand up strait and take the load of America back on their shoulders. Be men,act like men, respect your self and others.

I don’t just say this to lay blame, I am old enough to remember how it was, men were the head of their families, they were the sole bread winners and work to provide for their families. They believed in GOD and lead their family in prayer, they raised their children with a strong but loving hand.

Today men have lost their authority, their masculinity and self respect. We need to turn back to a time when the natural order of human life was free to find the balance it should be.

Men had a relationship with GOD foremost,They were the head of their family, they took part in the community politic.

I don’t know if Puritanism would be possible but as a woman, I would gladly give up my career, politics and yes even my so called independence for a strong man and loving children.

America was built on this foundation of family and until we return to these moral underpinnings we will never have the kind of world we desire.

    • Michael

      Good comment Emily.

It is true – the men of this nation have really dropped the ball.

      Michael

      • Ben

Definitely, we shoulda beat them when that whole movement shit started up. and damn being able to rape and sell them was good too!

      • jasehawk

They haven’t dropped the ball. They know exactly what they are doing. Our troubles are not because of incompetence. Order out of chaos.

      • J.M

Why my comments are still in moderation or deleted? Should I guess the godless and feminists are the only ones with right to speak their minds out in dissent isn´t it?

    • Crystal

I agree, Emily. Men have allowed themselves to become weakened.

    • Straight veteran

yes men have dropped the ball, but it is not all their (our)fault. Society has marginalized males since womens liberation came about. Women “wanted it all”, but at what cost?

    • josh

i completely agree, i also think men have a hard time backing their word if they say they are going to do something do it, act. not talk.

    • J.M.

Well your generation was the one responsible for this, specially women, they wanted power and betrayed their men in favor of the global elite, feminism, sexual revolution wouldn`t be possible without your betrayal to your sons, fathers, brothers and husbands. You shamed through the lies of the so called oppression where there was none, you made your bed “ladies” now sleep in it. :)

    • J.M.

By the way would you accept the past roles if men return to their past ones, would you accept your duties and quit your present day privilege. Until you are willing to do so you are hyprocrites daughters of the devil like our Lord would say

  • Guido

It’s like reading Atlas Shrugged-except Rand didn’t dwell much on the social and pop cultural aspects of American life.

I’m reminded of a front page from The Onion. Dated 1933, it was a front page from the Depression reading, “NATION ESCAPES DEPRESSION THROUGH FANCIFUL WORK OF H.P. LOVECRAFT: Fantastical Tales Of Better Times Allow Readers To Forget Troubles”

  • Gary2

Rosanne is correct and so is Michael Moore.. The rich have been waging and winning the class war like forever. Payback is a bitch! We need a lot of wealth redistribution now!

We need to be more socialist and less capitalist. Hows that capitalism working out? Ha Ha HA

    • Michael

      Gary:

Actually what we have now is much more accurately described as “corporatism”. I think that you might actually like the capitalism that the founding fathers intended for us to enjoy.

      Michael

      • Gary2

I agree, however, capitalism is such that it will always gravitate to corporatism. It is inevitable which is an inherent flaw in capitalism. (one of many built in contradictions in capitalism)

        • REED RICHARDS

          Gary2,

The Asylum States of Amerika was initially designed to be a hybrid mix of socialism and capitalism. Now it has morphed into a pure fascist state with the merger of state and corporate powers. You could be onto something here. But I think that even if the U.S. had started out as a pure socialist state, I still think that we would be where we are now given the attitude of people today. But it would be interesting to discover what would have happened had the nation started out as pure socialist.

          • Guido

Where do you get your facts? America was never intended to be a mix of socialism and capitalism. It was meant to be a purely-capitalist nation. How could it be anything else if Socialism wouldn’t posited for about another century? The Founders were in no way fans of government handouts. Do some reading.

        • Guido

Your comments seem a little hard to reconcile.

First, you champion Socialism and attack Capitalism.

Then, when someone tells you that our economy is not really Capitalism, you agree that we’re under Corporatism.

Corporatism is, according to a quote attributed to Mussolini, an alternative name for Fascism. Sooo I think you really ought to figure out exactly which system you don’t like.

I don’t like Fascism, personally, since I prefer freedom and the chance to make my own way, free of government interference. Plus, I want the scales even for everyone, not weighted towards government and the moneyed interests.

I also don’t like Socialism for the same reasons. For those who do not know or understand, Fascism and Socialism are not really all that different-Mussolini created Fascism as a patriotic form of Socialism. At heart, the two are the same. No wonder folks like Hitler and Stalin can get along when they get down to brass tacks…

I do, however, like Capitalism. It is the greatest force for good in the world. While there are some people who always lose in life, Capitalism offers the greatest number of people the greatest number of opportunities at improving their lives.

The current economic problems we are dealing with are not, I emphasize NOT the fault of the Capitalist system. The Capitalist system has been subverted and warped slowly over decades into something else. The current problems we face are the fault of some among the moneyed interests operating with the political class to screw the rest of us.

I do not think this is a grand unified monolithic conspiracy, but rather a whole lot of corruption; corruption as the result of decades of success and complacency on our part.

While we’ve been at the mercy of corrupt and greedy people forever, the post-war years were ones of such success and wealth that we failed to notice what they were building.

          ….And here we are.

While it is en vogue to attack Capitalism right now, and has been for some time now, we do not have a Capitalist system anymore. If anything, restoring Capitalism and dumping the current arrangement would do more for our economy than anything else. We’ve already tried everything else, why not give Liberty a try for once?

These days, the Government and the Moneyed Interests have screwed us and they’ve set up a mutually-supporting system. The money chases the power and the power chases the money.

The scary part about this is all the many Useful Idiots on the Left who seek to cure the ailment with more government, more regulation, and more Socialism-the very roots of the illness, itself.

The last thing we need is more government. We have too much already and we can’t afford what we have now. The National Debt is proof enough of that fact. If we continue to add more government, we will be locking ourselves into the future Orwell envisioned for us of a jackboot stomping on a man’s face until the end of time. We’ll not only be broke (we already are), but slaves in a foundering global system built on debt.

It is especially interesting to note the Founders really did foresee this as a possibility. They’re not very popular anymore and we’re being told their old ideas
are outmoded and antique, but I think their philosophy is more and more important than ever before. Again, let’s give Liberty a try. It certainly couldn’t hurt us more than our current system, could it?

  • REED RICHARDS

    Michael,

TRUE, AMERIKA IS ROTTING FROM THE INSIDE OUT. BUT THAT IS OLD NEWS AND AN OUTCOME THAT CAN NOT BE STOPPED. THE LARGER POINT FOLLOWS:

Being a republican, for all the good it does you or anyone else at this point, is ill-suited for this type of site and the type of articles you post. I would hope the premise is that you are trying to shunt aside partisanship and unite libertarian and other freedom minded people to “fight the power” as it were. But inevitably, you always jump the shark or jump the rails with your republican slant towards everything. Case in point:

Fact #9 Class Warfare: Really? The idea that corporations and private individuals that make billions in profit and pay no federal income tax doesn’t bother you but for people to speak out about that does bother you? Eric Cantor and John Boehner could not have said it better. Yes, “reeducation camps” are extreme, but the idea that Rosanne was trying to convey is that millionaires and billionaires not paying any taxes at all CONTRIBUTES TO THE NATIONAL DEBT AND THE SOCIETAL DESTRUCTION THAT YOU CLAIM TO CARE ABOUT.

Fact #11 Socialism: The nation has been socialist since its inception and decided to truly embrace that idea during the new deal. Social Security itself came from Otto Von Bismark, a german politician. You don’t get any more socialist than that. Want to abolish all entitlements? Tell that to single mothers with children how they are supposed to eat when your republican and democrat friends institute policies that off-shore every job known to man and exacerbate poverty.

Fact #12 National Debt: Curious how you skip from 1993 to 2009-2011 forgetting about the entire period from 2001-2008 where national debt also rose. Guess because a republican president was in power during that time. As stated earlier, the bigs not paying any taxes contributes to the national debt. Millions of people unemployed and living off of food stamps, welfare, unemployment checks, medicaid, etc., balloons the national debt. Fighting endless wars against third world nations without justification or in the case of Iraq and Libya provocation getting bogged down in quagmires balloons the national debt. Thousands of political appointees and politicians living like British noblemen off the public treasury and the taxpayer without producing anything of value balloons the national debt. Off-shoring all productive capacity and manufacturing (jobs) while creating “commercial paper” ie. Trash derivatives not worth the paper and ink used to create them and when they crash then using the socialist model of government to bail out the bigs balloons the national debt. But I should not bother you with these things, I guess.

Fact #40 Abortion: Slaughter? Really? I am a foe of abortion and would not recommend it unless three extreme circumstances presented themselves:
    A. Rape B. Incest C. Health of the mother was at stake. Outside of or even with those situations presenting themsevles, I would recommend adoption of the newborn child before abortion. And although I would recommend adoption for all circumstances rather than abortion, in those three situations I would not force a young girl or woman to bring a child to term because for reasons A and B they did not have a choice or could legally consent in the matter and for reason C I would not declare their lives forfeit simply because they were pregnant and carrying a child. But using the word slaughter will not win you any points with intelligent, thinking people, not at all.

As with many of your articles, and partisans on either side of the aisle, you present such a level of bias to the far right on flashpoint issues that it would be nearly impossible for a coalition to build around freedom of assembly and freedom of commerce and other things where there might be points of agreement. So I must ask you, what exactly is it that you are trying to accomplish here?

    • Michael

      Reed:

It is okay if we do not agree on all the issues. I just call things like I see them. On a lot of things you will probably agree with me. On some things you won’t.

For example, I think the slaughter of 50 million babies since 1973 is a horrible crime.

      You apparently disagree.

I think that you will find that I am rough on both political parties and on a wide variety of groups and organizations throughout society. I have deeply criticized both Bush and Obama. In this last article I criticized both Pat Robertson and Michael Moore.

If there are some things we disagree on I hope you won’t get too offended. I have very strong opinions and I know that most of you all do too. Hopefully we can share our ideas and learn from one another.

      Michael

      • Gary2

Michael-you are way conservative biased. Not as bad as fox news but almost worse as its more subtle.

This guy correctly called you out and deservedly so.

As you have done in the past when you “leave out” things that Mr. Hoffa and Michael Moore say and only give part of a quote as opposed to the entire quote and mislead people. I do not think this is a matter of disagreeing with you but more of calling out your conservative bias.

You only responded to the one issue-abortion-where there can be genuine disagreement. The other points he/she made you did not respond to as the only explanation would be for you to admit your right wing conservative bias.

I tell you this in the spirit of friendship as I want your sites to be the best they can be and your obvious conservative bias and cherry picking your facts is beneath you.

        • REED RICHARDS

          Gary2,

Michael is a lost cause. For as long as he believes in the false right/left paradigm, he will contniue to slant towards his chosen “side”. He is simply like millions of people who think they have to “pick the winner” and they therefore will support and/or vote for either wing of the war party. And that is why I find it strange that he writes these columns because in the end, the Republicans are going to give him more of what Obama is giving him now. If he thinks Obama is bad now, wait till he gets a load of Slic Rick Perry or Mitt Romney in 2013…………..

          • Michael

I don’t believe in the false left/right paradigm.

And you must not have seen what I have written on this very website about Perry and Romney.

Just because I slam Obama and the Democrats does not mean that I carry water for the Republicans.

            Michael

          • Gary2

Michael-you can say whatever you want about not carrying water for the republicans. All one needs do is look through your columns to see your conservative bias.

I think that if you go back and look you would see that I and other readers who call you out on this are correct. Again you only responded to the abortion issue from the original poster. How abo8ut you respond to the other points.

Fact #9 Class Warfare: Really?–your explanation:

            Fact #11 Socialism–your response:

Fact #12 National Debt: Curious how you skip from 1993 to 2009-2011 forgetting about the entire period from 2001-2008 where national debt also rose. Your response:

        • josh

if youre reading into these articles that much you have too much time on your hands. you should be preparing. these articles are for people that need to be woken up and learn something. why take it as more? the smart people will wake up and prepare the stupid people will not prepare and most likely die and then we can rebuild locally rather than globally, hopefully with neither parties being involved.

      • REED RICHARDS

        Michael,

CALL IT THE WAY IT IS, NOT FOR WHAT YOU “WANT TO SEE”:

For me it’s not a matter of agreeing on every issue or not. What matters for me is that when people are one sided in their important critques of things, especially when it comes to the U.S. government where both wings of the war party (Dems and Reps) essentially have the same policies and the same donors, they are more or less commiting a fraud. You are perpetrating a huge fraud here. Again, how does one skip an entire period of debt by going from 1993 straight to 2009-2011? And most importantly, your Republicans controlled both houses of Congress for six out of Bush’s eight years in office and the debt still rose! Imagine that! How on earth did that happen?

And your weak tepid response of claiming that you criticized Michael Moore and Pat Robertson is the case in point. Michael Moore and Pat Robertson in the grand scheme of things are nobodies. They are merely front men who have no say in actual policy, the bankers do. They are the snake-oil salesmen that round up the herd for votes and nothing else.

As for the continued slander of slaughtering babies (who knows what the actual number of abortions really is) I guess the many children and adults who have died in Amerika’s numerous wars and drone attacks, do they count for something?

Michael, it is crystal clear that your politics are more a problem than a solution. Giving your readers Lindsay Graham’s and John Boehner’s thoughts and ideas and trying to repackage it as rightwing populism has already been tried. It’s called the teabaggers. And the result? Your friend Mitch McConnell in the U.S. Senate is on record as saying his first, and only job is to make Obama a one term president. And that means even if he has to take a page from Sherman’s march to the sea playbook and employ a scorched earth policy essentially burning the country to the ground to get Obama out of office, he, Cantor, Boehner and Paul Ryan will do exactly that. Join them if you must, but stop the smoke and mirrors and defrauding your readers. You have been exposed…………..

        • Jeremy

          No,

It is YOU that has the problem. You simply DISAGREE with him because what he says either contradicts your opinion, on the one hand, or “carries water” for another point of view on the other. I do not understand your intention in this other than to pout. “Waaa, he disagrees with me, he carries water for another party (according to your shade of glasses), and I don’t know a thing to do about it.”

    • Straight veteran

A simple solution for you Richards. If you don’t like to hear the facts, don’t come back to this website. You will not be missed. Go back to MoveOn where you and other people of self described high intellect gather. Please move on.

      • Guido

Thank you, Sir. I’ve been wondering why so many people come to this site, disagree with the owner, and hang around to spit on him and his ideas. You’re free to go anywhere on the net, yet you go to the one place you know you’re going to be offended. There must be millions of friendlier sites, like HuffPo or DailyKos…

    • J.M.

“Want to abolish all entitlements? Tell that to single mothers with children how they are supposed to eat when your republican and democrat friends institute policies that off-shore every job known to man and exacerbate poverty.” one word my friend personal responsability. A lot ogf those “ladies” got impregnated with the hope to get those benefits, if you cut those entitlements a lot of those pregnancies wouldn`t happen in the first place. Yes there will be suffering in the short term but that`s why orphanages have always existed. How do you think our ancestors survived? There was no big Mamma Gov. back then.

Richards your view on abortion just shows WHAT`S WRONG WITH AMERICA, even more so than Michael’s most likely protestant evangelical beliefs.

      • Jeremy

If I follow you correctly, you talk on the one hand about personal responsibility, and then criticize Michael’s opinions about abortion?

And what exactly are wrong with evangelical, Protestant beliefs?

    • Ouida Gabriel

When a rape victim aborts her child then she has done worse than the rapist. At least the attacker let the victim live.

I am not saying it would be easy to carry a child conceived in rape but as someone who was conceived this way and then lived a horrible abusive childhood – believe me when I say that there is a purpose for each child. I believe that each of us has a destiny to fulfill. Abortion erases that child’s destiny.

  • Mr Carpenter

Yes, indeed, time (ALL of time) is running out. The hourglass is almost empty at the top and there won’t be any more “turning it over.” The church era is nearly finished – and the true universal church of believers will be joining their bridgegroom soon.

The United States of America is dead, and rotting. There won’t be any Lazarus reincarnation of it. It obtained a mortal wound in the 1860′s with the civil war being prosecuted by the north in such a way – you may not want to read the truth but here it is – the south had the right to seceed and the north used genocide on civilians in the south, not to mention the fact that Lincoln put forth the first “executive order” to reinstate Congress in DC illegally – in strictest true legal terms, we’ve been an occupied nation (not just the south) ever since, with only a pretense of legality which was like a veneer of good wood over cheap wood – and now after 150 years, the veneer has worn entirely through. There’s no hiding the fact that we live in a fascist police state. Fascism = the combination of politics and corporate power. Police state = what you see now – that if you aren’t one of the useful fools (like police, government hacks, etc) and you get arrested – you’re likely to be screwed, glued and tatooed.

We have a religious government. It’s called luciferianism. Stop kidding yourself if you think abolishing all forms of religion is somehow going to save mankind. I think Gary North chose a fitting metaphor comparing our culture to the Yellow Fever Epidemic of 1878. People in Memphis hearing about the epidemic sweeping its way northward became nervous but went merrily wishing it away until the first case of the deadly epidemic was reported in the city. Sheer panic ensued.

Scott, the woman who spilled coffee, did not actually “spill” the coffee. The cup was defective and the bottom gave out while she was moving it from the window of McDonald’s to her cup holder. The coffee was so hot that it degraded the cup bottom and then spilled all over her private parts. She required reconstructive surgery for 2nd and 3rd degree burns. So…I try not to judge the actions of jurors, since I am not privy to the actual evidence. The mainstream media does an excellent job of lambasting and vilifying people who have expressed legitimate concerns, or those who have an actual grievance.

How many Americans know what the Stasi or Cheka was??? Well, the practices of local, state and federal law enforcement (sic) agencies and DHS are exactly the same as the surveillence and entrapment methods of the Stasi and Cheka. The very same Bolshevik Communists who established Communism in Russia which resulted in the deaths of about 66 million Orthodox Christians now run America. Just ask Chertoff or Napolitano or Ros-Lethinen or Cantor.

Pat Buchanan said a few years back that about 75% of all casualties in these Middle Eastern wars and the Asian war over in Afghanistan have been heartland American White boys. They’ve closed Walter Reed but you could see them, no arms, no legs, all for the goals outlined in PROJECT FOR A NEW AMERICAN CENTURY, just one of the white papers used to justify the meat grinder. Not for America’s interests, oh no. All of that treasure expended. If Americans knew how much support for some foreign nations cost them they would cause a march on Washington.
Well they don’t know, and knowledge really is power.
You are spoon-fed what THEY want you to know, they mold your opinions and you don’t even know it. Every time you read a magazine or watch a TV show, news or otherwise, heck even commercials, you are being propagandized, by the MASTERS of the Art. Check out Freud’s nephew Edward Bernays.
He was one of the mind-molders, he isn’t CONDEMNING it he is EXPLAINING it for the powerful:
“If we understand the mechanism and motives of the group mind, is it not possible to control and regiment the masses according to our will without their knowing about it?”

“The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. …We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. This is a logical result of the way in which our democratic society is organized.”

Michael Moore wrote a book filled with HATE for Whites, ‘STUPID WHITE PEOPLE’ you really should read it.

That ‘Fast & Furious’ wasn’t a drug cartel sting, it was a Second Amendment sting, THEY WANT YOU DISARMED.
This is Ron Paul’s choice for 2nd Amendment defense:

Obama gave effective amnesty to all the illegals in August.
Did you see how ALLEGED Drunk Driver who almost killed a cop in MA an ILLEGAL ALIEN, like Obama’s Aunt Zeituni, Uncle Onyango Obama was GRINNING like a Cheshire cat during his last Court appearance? That AMNESTY is against our constitution, yet the MSM isn’t talking about it, and neither are the GOP hopefuls, in fact WHO IS TALKING ABOUT? Nobody, that’s who.

Also in August Obama issued another executive order imposing more “affirmative action” on the .gov workforce, already discriminating against Whites. What’s that? You say you never heard about it? The media bosses decided you didn’t need to hear about those two actions by Obama in August.

Your country was stolen from you and you didn’t even notice.

Do you even care that your own heritage is slated for EXTINCTION? Think about that at night when you wake up at 3AM.

    (a) Any action which has the aim or effect of depriving them of their integrity as distinct peoples, or of their cultural values or ethnic identities;

    (b) Any action which has the aim or effect of dispossessing them of their lands, territories or resources;

    (c) Any form of population transfer which has the aim or effect of violating or undermining any of their rights;

    (d) Any form of assimilation or integration by other cultures or ways of life imposed on them by legislative, administrative or other measures;

    (e) Any form of propaganda directed against them.

It seems we all have to blame someone or something, are food are life it is always something or someone else who has caused are lives to be miserable. But you know what it is really are selves we are resposible for are thoughts, actions, and deeds. We alone control this the old saying we are, are own worst enemy, no one makes you buy child porn no makes you rape an innocent person no one makes you rob someone or kill them you do it because you choose to do this, you have the option not to, or too. It takes the same amount of energy to do good things as it does bad, your choice. I f everyone would be accountable for their actions none of these things would happen but people want the easy way out and blame something.

For people who are seniors/retired, just be thankful you lived during the country’s better times. Younger people should avoid raising a family because of this country’s zero future and cost of child raising, which is too expensive for the middle class. You simply mischaracterize our situation. We are not imploding in upon ourselves. We have been invaded (infiltrated) by a hostile foreign power that operates by stealth and subversion, not outright direct violence.

Remove the invaders (Jews) and our Civilization will heal itself.

Chaos and demoralization are weapons they use to control us. Stop your whining and rise to the defense of all that is good that your ancestors built for you. The key is *money*; boycott the invaders in your daily life, starting with their primary cash cow (and weapon), the TV. Your head will clear and you will no longer be afraid.

We can all peruse over this article and complain as much as we want. Here is what we are going to have to do. Form groups of support…small groups. We are going to have to support one another and pray for one another. We are going to have to provide material and emotional support for one another. Learn to grow your own food, store it, and make sure any seeds you buy are heirloom. Make sure you have materials that will be put to good use when this crisis hits. We are all going to need them: tools, storage containers, water purification (you can purify your own water with two 5 gallon buckets, sand, and landscaping material). Make sure you have an unshakable faith in God (by my own testimony I do not, I need to repent). Make sure you are going to be able to protect yourselves. There is going to be great violence as most Americans have very little morality and only care about themselves. They will kill surely kill you for a meal and eat that meal in front of your dead carcass. You can see our abuse of society every day when you go into a nursing home and see someone dieing there who has kids that never go see them or even care for them. Nursing homes exist mostly from the fruits of a careless society. These are just a tip of the iceberg. I hope everyone takes this seriously.

I agree in that just changing the political party is not enough. People’s hearts have to change to the listen to God’s gosepl.

In the book of Jonah, when Jonah preached to Nineveh regarding their forthcoming destruction, it was the people who repented first, then the king. After that, the king proclaimed it to all the people.

  • Bobby

Excuse me sir, I agree with much of your article, but why is is wrong to disagree, or even hate people that believe in different things from what we here in the U.S.do? I don’t like child molesters. I don’t like gays that push their agenda on me or my family. Why should I? I don’t like foreigners that are, let us say, Johnny come lately’s, not having contributed two cents worth of taxes to the U.S. and yet acting rude and entitled, thanks to leftist instigation. I wouldn’t want to live next to a Mosque when I’d be awoken at 5;30 in the morning for the daily prayers to Mecca. Understand, I don’t hate the people who practice this religion, but I like sleep. I could not agree with Mr. Carter more. The civil war might have ended slavery, but it enslaved the citizens under a big central government that was, is, and will continue to be out of control and not having the citizens best interests at heart. The very fact that it refuses to enforce immigration laws is one proof it doesn’t give a rats ass about citizens, but there are many others.

I grew up in a (now formal) communist country and things were uncomparably nicer there than it is now in the US.
The worst part of communism was people reporting on each other and that’s exactly what’s coming to America now through the See Something, Say Something Act and the workings of DHS and the like.
They don’t want people to trust each other, because in unity there is strength. This is also the reason they have two political parties: to divide the country.

    • mondobeyondo

Funny how the banking and government elite operate under different rules.

This is another article I can barely take seriously. Why? Among all the things going on, the author doesn’t mention ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, which has bankrupted hospitals, emergency rooms, and Whole States. It has caused the social services AmericanS, AMERICANS, paid into to be usurped by foreign nationas with no permission by Congress to even be here. We are talking of MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS OF PEOPLE, and the author doesn’t consider this a problem important enought to list as a symptom of our breakdown as a nation. Go figure.

#7 The other day, a group of thieves stole a 50 foot long bridge in Pennsylvania. Yes, you read that correctly. They stole the entire bridge.

Well, you ain’t seen nothing yet. In 2001 I lived in South Africa. At that time, the police raided a ship bound for Asia in the harbour of Durban. In the ship they found a COMPLETE train.

This train was stolen from the tracks of the South African Railway Company (Spoornet). At the time of the seizure by the police Spoornet hadn’t reported the train missing. How corrupt is a country if you lose a complete train on the tracks?

    • Kevin

“How corrupt is a country if you lose a complete train on the tracks?”

As an economy implodes corruption becomes more evident at the middle and bottom with lower and lower level government officials and police having their hand out. Corruption is institutionalized at the top regardless. We were somewhat insulated from the former unlike Mexico but we always lived under the latter. Soon we’re about to see it top through bottom and it will become a way of life. You can, “take that to the bank” but I suggest just putting it under your mattress.

I met an “independent businessman” in Odessa in 1997 who was one of many people who sold off the former Soviet Union’s raw materials and factory equipment. When the USSR fell, everything that wasn’t nailed down didn’t have a guard watching it was ripe for theft and sale. The Party Bosses stole and sold off the most valuable things, the Black Sea merchant fleet, for instance. This guy was moving factory parts. It was a very interesting conversation. We’re getting to that point now.

    • A.S.

At the risk of sounding racist, I bet the criminals that stole the train were black, right?

Well, I guess dark days are coming all over the U.S. if anything can stolen by anyone, just to “make a buck.”

What is more amazing is how can anyone steal something so large and go unnoticed. DB200 is right, the only way is a corrupt government: they are so busy stealing our money, the don’t care if someone is stealing someone else’s money (or property).

      • Kevin

As the standard of living drops many in law enforcement look the other way if there is something in it for them. It’s called survival. The closer you come to the third world economically the closer you come to it socially.

Corruption is imbedded in the holy shrine of the US, the Mecca known as Wall Street; it’s the lubrication that keeps the system functioning. Immorality and unethical practices once codified illegal through corruptive political pressure and favors became legal once again. The rest is history.

The common person will see more corruption closer to their everyday life.

      • DB200

At the time, the saying was:
“What is the difference between a tourist and a racist? Answer: one day.”

But below the colour of our skin we all have red blood. So be colour blind and try to look into one’s heart.

      • Guido

Does that matter, A.S? Skin color has nothing to do with crime. It is irrelevant. What is relevant is what they did and what their intention was when they committed the act.

We are spiritually dead as a nation. Only a few people see what is happening for what it really is. Donald Rumslfeld should be ashamed.

Donald Rumsfeld cannot travel to Europe for fear of being arrested for war crimes and crimes against humanity because of his actions in the war of aggression against Iraq

    Great article!

    GREAT article as usual.

“#4 …Hank Williams Jr. was recently booted off Monday Night Football simply because he compared Barack Obama to Hitler.”

The guy acted like he was drunk or high. No wonder he got booted off.

“#9 Class warfare is certainly rising to a new level in this nation….”

It’s only class warfare when WE (the 99%) fight back.

I THINK THIS COUNTRY NEEDS TO LISTEN TO GOD!!God speaks through His prophet and messengers.
God speaks through dreams of the night.
God speaks through the still quiet voice in our spirits.
God speaks by prompting us in our hearts.
God speaks audibly in a loud voice to our spirits.
God speaks through vision, or pictures in our minds.
God speaks through the peace in our hearts.
God speaks to us through physical events, omens and signs.
God speaks to us through physical objects and words that are in the streets
    10. God speaks to us via bible verses that have been quicken and made alive.
    11. God speaks to us using scriptures that seems out of context.
    12. God speaks to us through animals.
    13. God speaks to us through angels.
    14. God speaks to us through casting of lots, Urim and Thumim.

      They won’t.

The masses will listen to Lady Gaga.
They will listen to Justin Bieber.
And they will listen to Diane Sawyer.

They will NOT listen to God though.

It won’t be the first time, of course. God has been rejected and ridiculed throughout recorded history.

I am not sure that you read your comments section, but in case you do, I will point out an extreme error. We are not being taught to hate people who are different. We are being taught in public schools, colleges, and constantly reminded in the media that we are all the same and Should love one another no matter what. You talk about not hating and acceptance then also seem to indicate the opposite.

I have read your site many times and find your lack of coherent thought appalling. Define what you are about instead of emotional rants and you may find commenters who also engage in stimulating intellectual conversation.

Reply to some of these posts: The reason patriots and their groups fail big time, is there is no consistency, pin headed members, and split up on minor issues. Gov is spying, so stay away from rallies, marches and groups in general even w speakers rallies, etc. Hunker down and prepare. None accomplish a damn thing and waste time, producing no results in the fifty years I’ve observed all this. as I was involved way back. All patriots work even with the internet and talk radio have produced zero as country deteriorates, like a train with no brakes racing into the abyss.

“Few men are willing to brave the disapproval of their fellows, the censure of their colleagues, the wrath of their society. Moral courage is a rarer commodity than bravery in battle or great intelligence. Yet it is the one essential, vital quality for those who seek to change a world which yields most painfully to change.”

    - Robert F. Kennedy 1966

Michael, here we are in a near-depression state and we are still hearing the tax-the-rich mantra from our fellows on the Left. Pray tell, how does giving government more of our wealth going to solve the problems we are facing? The short answer is that it does not help.
Getting rid of the debt-based money system we have would help along with the garantuan federal deficit, but none these address the spiritual aspects of our human nature; so unless the hearts of our people are changed so that they do not steal, or murder, or lie and cheat to get what they want from others, the moral collapse will continue.
As much as Reagan has been villified here, the alternatives would have been far worse. Those who have spoken harshly against Reagan here and now were likely his opponents then(if they were even alive or conscious at the time). He made mistakes to be sure, but another Carter term or a couple with Mondale and you’d have seen an even bigger mess. Reagan is gone and we have to deal with the here and now. His ideas were in many cases better than his actions (that’s human nature).
    Thanks again, Michael.

    • Michael

      You are welcome RevBryan.

And I very much appreciate your comments.

true, there is a rot but that shud not be the end of the road. your salvation in america lies a lot in instilling moral values back into the society.
ask yourselves : why is this once prosperous nation in debt by the many trillions? fr how long will the present day american continue servicing the national debt let alone the coming generations? how did you end up into this quagmire of debt in the first place? this n many more questions beg for a clear answer, in my opinion the answer lies in the wrong leadership that is put in plasce every term. yr leadership is devoid of moral standing – get the right people in the right places, b a god fearing nation excersing justice to all n the lost glory shall be returned otherwise you wll fall into pieces just as the ussr did.

Gay veteran said about my post “jeez, a neo-Confederate longing for the good old days of slavery”

My dear Gay Veteran, you make your liberal stripes as clear as a bell in your so-called rebuttal to my comment. You have no facts to back anything you wrote, all you can do is to attack without thinking. Typical leftist “useful idiot” as Stalin would have described you.

There was not one single thing in my comments about slavery. Can you not understand that slavery would have died out in the south in a very short time anyway? Nowhere else in the civilized world had slavery much later than the 1870′s. Besides which, MUCH of what the south desired in the break-away related to the concept of keeping STATES RIGHT predominent instead of an over-arching federal government.

Look at this this way; if the south had a legal right to depart from the union (they did), and had the been left to do so, then we would have had four North American nations instead of five. Big deal.

Looking at what Lincoln STARTED with his “executive order” and the destruction put onto this nation from the civil war informs me that we certainly would have been better off taking the OTHER PATH of peace. Perhaps the CSA and the USA could have reconciled and merged again at a later date, after the USA discovered how much the too-strong federal government took from people in terms of rights, taxes, and wasted lives by throwing them away in foreign wars.

Open your mind to this kind of things instead of simply attacking without using a brain, okay?

  • Scaredofallofyou

You are all a bunch of homophobic, hateful people. If you are right and there is a God I hope you are all prepared to explain your hatred to Him.
You people are far from perfect and have no right to pass judgement on others. Even your God said (ok, your bible -edited by men- claims your God said -according to unknown author(s)) “Judge not…lest ye be judged yourself”.

p.s. The only reason Jesus said to come to God through him is because he was exasperated with the ignorance of those around him. I’m sure if he were around today he would feel the same. Feel free to evolve like the rest of us anytime now.

    • Dirk

I merely asked why you’re wasting your time at a place you don’t like full of people you hate? And you came in here attacking America, Americans, and Christianity first and spouting your ignorant, hateful rhetoric.

    • MartyGeeLorenzo

      As Guido said,
“You can’t invalidate a religious faith, just because the rulers and self-aggrandizing crooks perverted the church to serve their own ends.

Non-Christians and anti-religious people like to poke at Christianity for the Crusades-but those were hundreds of years ago. They were also a tool of the ruling elite to gain power, wealth, and get rid of a lot of surplus people.

Anymore, when a Christian talks about a crusade, it’s a crusade to help people. No church is preaching the liberation of the Holy Land and the subjugation of the Moores. Can you deny the incredible amount of charity work Christians have undertaken in the world? Food, medicine, clothing, shelter, infrastructure, literacy, education, etc. Are all those good deeds meaningless because some believers are Aholes?

Finally, religion is like weightlifting. It’s individual and every person has their own level of accomplishment in their own life. It is not a monolithic faith-there are as many flavors as believers.

You can not judge each Christian to be the exact same as the guy caught trying to bomb an abortion clinic. The folks who do wrong in the name of God are still wrong. They’re no different from secular folks who do wrong.

Personally, I think many Christians do stupid things out of misguided belief they are doing the right thing. I think they damage the faith for everyone. I think Carlin was right when he suggested God probably hates it when things are done in his name.

I’ve even dealt with it personally. I was yelled at by a well-meaning, but misguided, woman for standing in the New Age section at a bookstore. (I think I was looking for a book on UFOs or ghosts or something.) After I told her to get off my back, she didn’t know anything about me, she apologized.

That woman was a flake, but she didn’t overturn and invalidate two thousand years of Christian faith tradition for me by acting like a fool. By the same token, are all Americans evil because Lt. Calley torched a village in Vietnam? Or because the US was once a slave-owning nation?”

    • Straight veteran

You people are far from perfect and have no right to pass judgement on others. Even your God said (ok, your bible -edited by men- claims your God said -according to unknown author(s)) “Judge not…lest ye be judged yourself”.

I am trying to reply to Jose Mackario Jiminez at Phoenix College but having some difficulty as I am not on facebook. He was telling of all the reasons he didn’t believe in God and I was trying to reply by saying:

Your problem is that you are trying to understand the Infinite God with your finite mind! “Seek and ye shall find” Jesus said and you seem to be seeking reasons NOT to believe. Hence you will find them. There ARE seeming contradictions as you point out in the Bible but they are only seeming. The Bible was written over many hundreds of years by dozens of people in different styles of literature, and things can be taken out of context. My mom used to quote two very different scriptures when she was tired of our shenanigans by combining two verses in a way I have not heard since: “Judas went and hanged himself” with, “go thou and do likewise”. The point is that God loves you and you cannot understand God with logic alone anymore than an ant could understand Einstein. There is a lot more in the Bible than you quote and hence the Isaac Newton Bible Research Society is a volunteer organization devoted to discovering what is hidden there that we have not yet discovered.

The Bible was written by hundreds of men over many generations but it had one over all intelligence behind it, or to quote one of our top code experts at the National Security Agency, “Who ever wrote the Bible was not bounded by time as we are.” The purpose of the Bible is to lead people to God and I believe that is why God thorough all those writers over all those years encoded it so in this age with our super-computers we could find what He hid there for those skeptical minds who want more proof than they have seen. While it’s true that all Christians should be living proof and you should be able to see a difference in those who have experienced Jesus in their lives, sadly, that is sometimes not the case. However, no single reply is going to convince you that there is more than you know and that is true of many people including believers, and of course there are those who reject even the idea that there could be hidden anything in the Bible that takes a computer to find.

All I can say with certainty is that God loves you and that if you truly seek Him, the one and only, you will find Him, and many of these arguments you have will melt away in insignificance. They will still exist but you will see that some of them are insignificant and others will be understood from a different and much wider point of view. Instead of only reading those who agree with you why not challenge yourself and read just two books by those who sought to understand. Both are widely available in paperback, even on eBay, and they are completely different from each other. One is composed of notes from a British lady about 80 years ago and what she heard in her spirit as she prayed over a ten year period, and the other by a retired Colonel from the Vietnam War days. You have obviously read the Bible a great deal but you have not experienced God. These two people did and wrote about it.

In GOD CALLNG, edited by A. J. Russell are recorded some 360 short teachings or explanations that Jesus gave to to the elderly British woman on what he meant by what He said 2,000 of our years ago. There is even a sequel but I challenge you to read GOD CALLING for a fuller explanation of many things. PRISION TO PRAISE by Merlin Carothers (pilot, demolition expert, personal guard to Dwight Eisenhower, and eventually army chaplain) and his short 106 page book has been translated into more than 50 languages. It is a fast moving action book about how God works. I would be very surprised if you did not find that these two books might open your mind to the fact that there is more than you know. Don’t reject God like his greatest creation, Lucifer, once did (in his case because he wanted to be God) or because you don’t understand what others claim to be understand. God loves you and you need to get a grasp on that. May He bless you on your journey.

Though I agree with most of the points on this fact that America seems to be coming apart, there seems to be a bit of male discrimmination here. Care to explain?

#19 25%? That is A LOT of women. If the population of America is around 310 million give or take and half are women at 155 million that would mean almost 39 million women are raped! Also half of all rape cases have been proven to be false. Where did you get your sources?

#21 One reason this is happening: Feminism. Don’t believe me? Google Tom Leykis.

#24 What on earth is wrong with porn? This has nothing to do with the”abuse” and “exploitation” of women. It is her choice not a bunch of angry feminist who want to ruin everything for everyone.

#32 Personal responsibilty makes up who you are and how others will respect you. If you do not have enough respect for your body than who else will? Plus tjis is just DISGUSTING.

#34 Again about half of all rapes are proven to be false. Research reasons why rape cases are reported in the first place.

#37 Boys included? Or is this just a “girls only” thing?

#38 Do you really think guys like a bunch of strangers grabbing their groins? How come it says “women and children” but the word men is left out? Memory lapse maybe? What is this the Titanic now?

@MICHAEL I JOINED YOUR POST YESTERDAY AND I LOVE IT!!! I WANTED TO RESPOND TO THIS ARTICLE BY SAYING AS AN ORTHODOX CHRISTIAN AND AN AVID READER:I WAS INFLUENCED BY THE WRITINGS OF DOSTOEVSKY WHO UNDERSTOOD EVIL LIKE NO OTHER AND WROTE THE BOOK CRIME AND PUNISHMENT>HIS BOOKS WERE A CRITICISM OF THE SATANIC NIHILISM THAT CONTROLLED 19TH CENTURY RUSSIA.IF A PHILOSOPHER WERE TO INFLUENCE CULTURE IT WOULD BE PLATO FOR US AND NEITZCHE FOR THIS GENERATION.HE DID NOT BELIEVE THERE WAS ANY SUCH THING AS MORAL TRUTHAND ENLIGHTMENT IS RISING ABOVE GOOD AND EVILTO DESTROY THE VERY CONCEPT OF IT.HENCE:NIHILISM.PEOPLE HAVE BOUGHT THIS SATANICLIE FROM HELL>AND WE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO NEITZCHE:HE WENT INSANE !!!!!

@ MICHAEL OH BY THE WAY PLATO AND SOCRATES WERE UNUSUAL BECAUSE OF THEIR BELIEF IN ABSOLUTES AND MONOTHEISM: UNLIKE MODERN PHILOSOPHERSWHO ARE MAINLY HUMANISTS.IF NEITZCHE WOULD HAVE BEEN AROUND IN ANCIENT GREECE ,PLATO COULD HAVE RIPPED HIM A NEW YING YANG IN A DEBATE!!!!! I THINK AS A PRECHRISTIAN PHILOSOPHER HE HELPED PAVED THE WAY FOR CHRISTIANITY TO BE ACCEPTED IN GREECE!! ALSO THIS LAWLESSNESS WAS PREDICTED IN PROPHECY SO COME LORD JESUS!!!!!

I’m sad and don’t understand people! I was raised as a Christian in a loving home. Now I raise my children as Christians in a loving home. Why are people so gross, unloving, immoral? It must be that their parents didn’t raise them right. I guess the facts are that everyone needs to repent of their sins and ask Jesus Christ to be their savior. He’s the only one that can take sins away! I believe his second coming is near – very near. Be ready and ask him to be your savior in this very lost and ugly world. You must be born again!
