20 Signs That America Is No Longer The Land Of The Free

The United States was able to defeat Nazi Germany and helped bring down the USSR, but is the U.S. government now quickly becoming just like them?  Once upon a time, America was the land of the free and the home of the brave, but today the government has become an oppressive monster that is intrusively embedding itself in our lives in thousands of different ways.  Today we are all viewed as potential threats to the “system” that the government has imposed, and therefore everything that we do must be watched, tracked, traced, recorded and controlled.  Lip service is still given to ideals such as freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, freedom of religion and freedom of movement, but all of those freedoms are rapidly dying a brutal death.  To our forefathers, living the American Dream meant living as free men and women, but today it means living under deep socialist tyranny where the government takes care of us from the cradle to the grave and uses an increasingly oppressive Big Brother police state control system to guarantee our safety.

The following are 20 signs that America is no longer the land of the free….

1 – Government trash snooping has now come to America.  The city of Cleveland plans to sort through curbside trash to ensure that people are actually recycling their trash.  If it is discovered that they are not recycling properly they will be hit with very large fines.

2– It is becoming increasingly difficult to express free speech online.  The city of Philadelphia is actually forcing bloggers to pay them $300 for a business license.  In this economic climate, who can afford to pay an extra 300 dollars just to have a blog?  So much for free speech in Philadelphia.

3 – All of our DNA will soon be in a database.  Barack Obama has been pushing a plan to create a national database that will store the DNA of all individuals who have been arrested, even if they end up not being convicted of a crime.

4 – You should consider nothing you do on the Internet to be private.  It is being reported that the Obama administration is now demanding access to all Internet records of all Americans without court review.

5 – Just about anything can be used against you in court these days.  In one of the very first military commissions held under the Obama administration, a U.S. military judge ruled that confessions obtained by threatening the subject with rape are admissible in court.

6 – But it is not just Islamic terrorists that are going to get this kind of treatment.  According to FBI Director Robert Mueller, “homegrown terrorists” represent just as much of a threat to American national security as al-Qaeda does in 2010.

7 – Be very, very careful about what you post on the Internet from now on.  One software company is actually developing software which will be able to identify people from photographs posted on the Internet.

8 – The frightening thing is that the Internet may actually be literally inside the heads of many Americans soon.  Intel has stated that it wants microchips inside the heads of their customers by the year 2020.

9– As technology develops, it is inevitable that the government will want to utilize it to track us and to control us.  A startup company developing “chipless RFID ink” has already tested its product on cattle and laboratory rats.  How soon before it starts getting used on humans?

10– “Pre-crime” is not just for science fiction movies any longer.  The Florida State Department of Juvenile Justice has announced that it will begin using analysis software to predict crime by young delinquents and will place “potential offenders” in specific prevention and education programs.

11– Are you ready to start carrying a national ID card?  This year U.S. Senators Chuck Schumer and Lindsey Graham have been promoting legislation that would institute a biometric national identification card for all Americans.

12 – These days anyone can be labeled a “terrorist” and denied even the most basic of rights.  New legislation being pushed by U.S. Senators John McCain and Joe Lieberman earlier this year would allow the U.S. military to round up large numbers of Americans and detain them indefinitely without a trial if they are believed to “pose a threat” or if they have “potential intelligence value” or for any other reason that the President of the United States “considers appropriate”.

13 – The relationship between the police and the public has fundamentally changed.  Once upon a time the police were there to protect and serve.  But in 2010 police all too often abuse their positions.  Just recently, a 32 year old man was beaten black and blue by two Denver Police officers for no apparent reason at all.

14 – We are now so tightly regulated that we can’t even honor good police officers any longer.  Memorial crosses erected along Utah public roads to honor fallen state highway troopers have been found unconstitutional by a federal appeals court and must be removed.

15 – In 2010, it seems like the government wants to investigate just about everyone and everything.  For example, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi recently called for opponents of the proposed Ground Zero mosque to be investigated in order to establish who is funding their activities.

16 – The truth is that it is very dangerous to exercise your free speech in America in 2010.  For example, Christians are being arrested in various areas across the United States for quietly passing out Christian literature on public sidewalks.

17 – The U.S. government has become so paranoid that now even milk is viewed as a major threat.  Organic milk is now considered such a national crisis that the FDA has been conducting military style raids on Amish farmers in the state of Pennsylvania.

18 – We can’t even get on an airplane now without first allowing gawking security officials to get a good look at our naked bodies.  The new full body security scanners going into airports all across the United States can actually see through clothing and produce very clear and very detailed images of the exposed bodies of everyone who walks through them.

19 – But the government would never save any of those naked images, would they?  Well, the U.S. Marshals Service confessed recently that it had indeed saved tens of thousands of images recorded with a millimeter wave system at the security checkpoint of one Florida courthouse.

20 – Things have gotten so bad that we can’t even sing the national anthem during a visit to a national monument any longer.  A group of high school students made national headlines recently when they revealed that they were ordered by a security guard to stop singing the national anthem during a visit to the Lincoln Memorial.

    Did you vote for Liberty?

Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. America has rejected the truth that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life, therefore we will lose all of our freedoms. Our loving savior said “take up my yoke, for it is light”. What most people don’t understand was that Jesus was telling us that the alternative is not to be yoke free but instead it is to have a heavy yoke. Heathenistic America, get ready for a heavy yoke!

About #2: The City of Philadelphia has some of the most regressive taxes in The Banana Republic of America (formerly the USA), and the fact that bloggers have to pay $300 for a business license is an especially odious example. That $300 is bad enough if your blog is turning a healthy profit, but to force someone to pay $300 if their blog is only making, say, $20 a year is absolutely appalling. Mayor Michael Nutter, who I would characterize as a moderate Democrat (socially liberal, more of a centrist on fiscal policy), campaigned on reducing the city’s tax burden–unlike John Street, Philly’s last mayor, Nutter is smart enough to realize that regressive taxes make the city very unfriendly to small businesses. But that was before the economic meltdown of 2008 gave the city some nasty budgetary problems.

As someone who has done a lot of business travel in Europe (been all over Spain and Italy, contacts in France, Portugal, Holland and Ireland), I can tell you that yes, Europeans pay a lot of taxes, but they get a lot more bang for their buck than you get in Philadelphia and other BRA cities–better infrastructure, better schools, better mass transit. It’s taxation with at least some representation, whereas in Philly and so much of The Banana Republic of America, it’s taxation without representation. I’ve spent a lot of time in Barcelona-gorgeous, nicely maintained city, whereas Philly is gorgeous in spots but has plenty of neighborhoods that look like they’ve been carpet bombed. Those bloggers forking over $300 will still be living in a city where luxury condos are within walking distance of areas that are absolute hellholes. I don’t mean to single Philly out–the BRA in general is a broken country. And if the globalist NWO bastards that Alex Jones warns us about have their way, Europe will crumble as well.

But see, one thing that traveling in Europe and getting to know a lot of Europeans has taught me is that Americans can be a very docile, subservient bunch–abuse them, mistreat them, oppress them, make them pay a fortune for crappy health insurance…..and they keep coming back for more. So naturally, Americans’ civil liberties will continue to erode. The dysfunctional banana republic that used to be the United States of America has passed the point of no return, and it’s only going to get worse for the BRA–much, much worse. It saddens me deeply.

    Another good post.

But just remember most people are good people.

The constitution is right,….. of the people by the people and for the people was on purpose and the answer.

I guess I like the articles telling it the way it is I just do not like the articles not having many answers except moving to canada or germany.

And yes things can get better.

The answer is the laws that are written and we have on the books and who is currently allowed to write the laws(which is corporations).

There have always been problems and times have been worse not much,… but they have been worse, it is time for everyone to recognize that the laws in place and that need to be written, and the ones we do not need written (by corporations) are the answer.

    People are not good:

“The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek God. They have all turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is none who does good, no, not one.”

    Psalm 14:2-3

How many people lie? Steal? Have adulterous relationships and lust for others? Reject the One that created them?

People are mostly self-absorbed with their own pleasure. It is only when they start feeling some guilt inside because of their wickedness that they throw money at some charity, falsely believing that they are now good because they feel better. No, people are not good. Never were, never will be. That is why Jesus came into the world, to suffer and die to pay the price for our sin. We are all destined for eternal torment unless we repent and believe in Him for our salvation.

Unfortunately, the majority of people in America have turned from God. This country is reaping the reward of the wicked behavior from which it has sown.

    Could things get better? Yes
    Will they? Emphatically, No

The majority of Americans will continue lying, cheating, stealing, being promiscuous and then killing the unborn, etc. Then, when they have spare time in between, they will amuse themselves with TV, porn, cellphones, and all of their other toys, like babies in a crib, having no clue what is happening around them or why.

Worse times are coming unless this country starts seeking God and repenting. There is no other way.

Justa guy is justa *****, The world started spiraling downward when people as Stupid as yourself started preaching hymns from a book that was written to make MONEY.

When I saw #5 above on the list a week or so back, I was so angry, disgusted and upset, that I wanted to quit my job, sell everything I had and leave the country which I was born in (again). I left for the UK and lived there for almost a decade, but came back since the UK was declining at an even faster rate than the US.

I did calm down but it is very discouraging.

Greg, that was very well said. Justa Guy, yes it is true that if any sinners don’t repent (change direction), then things will continue to get worse for them.

For anyone who does not believe that nations are collectively allowed to reap what they sow (i.e. God allows punishment to fall upon them for massive amounts of sin), then look no further than any decent history book, or especially the best history book / human’s owner’s manual – the Bible.

Soddom and Gomorrah, anyone? The Jewish nation punished and banished time and again, anyone?

srhardy – what a nice posting. Many years ago my dad went to Australia and constructed a ranching operation that he was to also manage. My brother got messed up with the law in Nebraska and thrown in jail so my dad came back to the states and never went back, thus obviously did not move the family there as planned, then pouted about it for 40 years. I always wondered what life would have been had we moved there. I was young enough that I would have become a true Aussie. My wife and I may take you up on your suggestion.

  • Trapped Here

We would love to move Down under. We are no longer allowed to leave this country. (kinda takes the wind out of the old saying “Love america or leave it”) We have been trapped by child support law and taxes. Passports are revoked until we pay and if we whine it will be jail time….We are slaves now. They own every thing we ever worked for or inherited. They have made up rules as we went along and we were Stupid….trying not to be Dead beats. Trying to do what was right. But enforcement works much faster than correcting any mistake made. We have tried to get the Tax nazis to understand they should maybe not charge you three times for the same year (all diffrent amounts) and the Child support to figure out how to determine when a child becomes 18…..six years now and still charged more each month. If gov. can’t steal honestly they will simply make a “error” and pretend they think we are criminals.
Of course from what i understand, You have as much problem with civil nightmares as we do. One short marriage over 25 years ago is still a knife in my back….and it was not even Me who got married! I have to deal with a vindictive ex-wife and broken step children who were both abused and stolen every day….my reward for belief in doing the “right” thing is Still unable to make it go away. My children won’t be able to afford college and my step-kid can’t either because the Parental Alienator is still collecting with her Government minions. I am almost to tired to fight any more. Maybe if I divorce my husband We might be able to confiscate a large portion of our paychecks for ourselves???? That would be something new!
Besides with the new laws…..we have to pay taxes to USSA for ever….even if we are not citizens for 10 years. And most countrys are being strong armed into tattling on USA refugees. Better get off here before Master decides I am a terrorist…..
Am I a Terrorist…..if that would mean someone who is Terrified and living 1933 all over again….You bet. Funny March 23…hitler passes national healthcare…..March 23 + 70years…Obama passes national health care. what was that line about history repeating itself???

  • U.S.A. was before the refuge of the protestant bible believing people when the inquisition were slaying and killing all God’s people in Europe. That’s why America was blessed by God because of her gentle nature and peace loving country with liberty of conscience.

Revelation 13:11 “And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

Rev 13:12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

America is the lamb like horned beast, unfortunately she will relinguish all the constitutional rights of her people as a freedom loving people and will serve her master the pope and she will do everything what the first beast (papacy)want her to do, to make laws oppresive that will persecute God’s people at the end of time. Rome is taking over everything through The New World Order, she will rule again and will revive her persecuting inquisition power to enforce the mark of the beast that no one might buy of sell.

Rev 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Rev 13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

to Greg: Not all of America has rejected Jesus. So Get off your High and Mighty Pale Horse.

  • netneutral

This is a discussion on freedoms. Not a religious forum. Please stop blindly quoting the bible and saying Jesus is the only way – because that cannot be possible. You mean to say billions of non-Christians are all bad people and just because someone is dumb enough to believe blindly in something, they can attain a superior tone? What nonsense!!

Please! come and ARREST ME. I LOVE to sing our star spangled banner out loud at Events. I salute MY FLAG anytime I get the chance I get and I BELIEVE in LIBERTY and JUSTICE for ALL. SO E553

What’s with all this religious BS being posted? How does copying and pasting bible quotes solve anything? Even the tiniest bit of research can show the bible and its teachings to be false. Religion won’t save America.

  • joebanana

Heck, I can remember when the president didn’t have the power to have American’s assassinated, or tortured. And when they had to have a reason to put someone in prison. There was a time when police needed a thing called a search warrant before they busted in your front door, shot your dogs and threw your kids on the floor before standing on their little heads, and with automatic weapons shoved up their little noses. Young ones always like surprises like that early in the morning. Yeah, cops hadn’t figured out that carrying a little bag of coke and a hot gun, could come in handy if there are witness’s to a bad shoot. Works every time. Back in the day, judges actually tried to apply the laws to cases before them, now they’re paid off by the county to rule in it’s favor all the time, saving the county millions of dollars which can be used to give to judges to rule in the county’s favor, saving the county millions of dollars, which can be given to judges to rule in the county’s favor, saving the county millions of dollars which can be given to judges, and on it goes. been goin like that for 20 years now. I can remember an America, where it was easier to find a job, than to get arrested, not no more, now you have to prove your innocent before they lock you up. Yepper, I can remember when I didn’t have this dern camera up my butt all the time. Get gas, on camera, get groceries, on camera, stuck in traffic, on camera, bank, many cameras, bar, book store, nail salon, yogurt shop, intersections, outersections, up my damn……..

“Homegrown terrorist” (#6) concerns me cause who founded America & fought tyranny back in 1775? George Washington is now considered a “Homegrown terrorist”

Well, it could one day be you & me & it could be Our hometown that we may be defending to fight tyranny again (same causes as before: high taxes, continual foreign wars, bureaucrats crossing the land harassing citizens, etc.).

I recommend everyone read that new book out about a small town in America where the citizens finally take a stand against tyranny (state sponsored terrorism). It’s Great!! Could be u or me & our hometown….it’s that good. Just read it & see how real it is.

  • I am a excon my DNA is on file with the federal and stat gov.have been doing that for a time. Fed.takes pic of eye too.The US has pass all laws the Nazis pass.their is no freedom here in the US.

A lot of these problems are strongly based from “christian” values. Actually let me rephrase that. Religious values. Religion kills every amount of freedom ever had by the human race. Today, in America, any thing the government does can be justifiable simply because some politician can twist his words and his agenda into fitting with a religious doctrine. They do whatever the hell they want whenever the hell they want if gods on their side.

  • wow

Americans are being stripped of their rights more and more, and it started when our own government decided to capitalize on American’s fear of terrorism. “Let us strip search you the airport or the terrorists might get you” – That’s what they are doing.

One of two things will happen. America will collapse inward as citizens continue to lose morale and hope, while being pressured into compliance and censorship by our own government.

Or, there will be a breaking point, when Americans simply can’t take it anymore, and re-take control of our nation. We are in a very uncertain time in American history. And that is scary.

GREAT WEB SITE… I Send the clueless here to grasp the basics and to understand that they need to START THINKING ABOUT IT.

Just wanted the person above to know that it started in 1963. Many many years ago. This is an planed event just like 911. 911 was an inside job to scare us into submission. No terrorist.

Hope you have your bugout bags packed. Something big and bad is going to hit really hard very very soon. The huge hike in gas prices is the tip off.

Damn , it shows america is falling into a larger pit than what it already has begun. People need to wake up. Great post!
