11 Reasons Why Occupy Wall Street Protesters Are Hypocrites If They Do Not Call For Barack Obama To Resign

If the Occupy Wall Street protesters truly believed in the things that they are proclaiming, then they would be calling for the immediate resignation of Barack Obama and his entire cabinet.  The truth is that the Obama administration is responsible for most of the things that Occupy Wall Street is supposedly complaining about.  If the Occupy Wall Street protesters were intellectually honest, we would see a flood of anti-Obama signs during these demonstrations.  But instead we have barely heard a peep of criticism for Obama.  In fact, the vast majority of the protesters seem very excited about sending Obama back to the White House in 2012.  As will be clearly demonstrated in the rest of this article, this makes the Occupy Wall Street protesters tremendous hypocrites.  If Occupy Wall Street wants to have any credibility whatsoever, it needs to call for Barack Obama to resign.  Either Occupy Wall Street protesters will call for Barack Obama to be held accountable for his actions, or they are just a bunch of sheep.  They cannot preach to us about how principled they are and yet turn a blind eye to everything that Barack Obama has been doing for the past 3 years.

Below I am going to analyze many of the demands that Occupy Wall Street protesters have been making.  A lot of them have been directly taken from the formal list of complaints posted on the “official” organizing website of Occupy Wall Street.

As you will see, there are a whole lot of reasons why there “protesters” should be very angry with Barack Obama.

But we all know that nearly all of them will show up to vote for Obama once again in 2012.

Just like so many “true conservatives” apologized for George W. Bush for all those years, now we are seeing those on the left apologize for Barack Obama.

It is truly sickening.

Posted below are 11 reasons why Occupy Wall Street protesters are hypocrites if they do not call for Barack Obama to resign immediately….

#1 Occupy Wall Street says that they are angry that the big Wall Street banks “have taken bailouts from taxpayers with impunity, and continue to give executives exorbitant bonuses.”

Well, if Barack Obama and John McCain had not aggressively pushed for the Wall Street bailouts back in 2008, they never would have happened.  After Obama took office, he rammed through even more bailouts.  The reality is that you could easily call Barack Obama “the king of the Wall Street bailouts”.

#2 Occupy Wall Street says that they are angry that the big Wall Street banks “have donated large sums of money to politicians, who are responsible for regulating them.”

Yet they ignore the fact that 3 of the top 7 donors to Obama’s campaign in 2008 were the very Wall Street banks that the Occupy Wall Street movement is protesting.

Once again, Barack Obama will be taking in huge amounts of money from the wealthy and from big Wall Street banks for his run in 2012.

So why aren’t they complaining about that?

#3 One of the big themes of the Occupy Wall Street protests is the fact that Wall Street has way too much influence and power over the federal government.

Well, the Obama administration is absolutely packed with ex-executives of giant corporations and big Wall Street banks. Earlier this year, Michael Brenner wrote the following about the current composition of the Obama administration….

Wall Street’s takeover of the Obama administration is now complete. The mega-banks and their corporate allies control every economic policy position of consequence. Mr. Obama has moved rapidly since the November debacle to install business people where it counts most. Mr.William Daley from JP Morgan Chase as White House Chief of Staff. Mr. Gene Sperling from the Goldman Sachs payroll to be director of the National Economic Council. Eileen Rominger from Goldman Sachs named director of the SEC’s Investment Management division. Even the National Security Advisor, Thomas Donilon, was executive vice president for law and policy at the disgraced Fannie Mae after serving as a corporate lobbyist with O’Melveny & Roberts. The keystone of the business friendly team was put in place on Friday. General Electric Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Immelt will serve as chair of the president’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness.

#4 Occupy Wall Street says that it is deeply concerned about the rampant corruption in our financial system.

The Federal Reserve is the very heart and soul of our financial system, and yet there has been very little real criticism of the Fed by Occupy Wall Street protesters.

If Occupy Wall Street truly wanted to do something about our financial system they would be calling for the Federal Reserve to be shut down.

But their hero, Barack Obama, actually nominated Ben Bernanke for a second term as Federal Reserve Chairman and Obama continues to support him 100 percent even after a horrible track record of failures that is legendary.

#5 Occupy Wall Street says that it is angry that big corporations “have consistently outsourced labor and used that outsourcing as leverage to cut workers’ healthcare and pay.”

This issue alone should be enough for Occupy Wall Street to call for Barack Obama to resign.

The Obama administration has pushed very hard for new “free trade” agreements with Panama, South Korea and Colombia and the Obama administration is currently making the Trans-Pacific Partnership (“the NAFTA of the Pacific“) a very high priority.

The Obama administration has been very aggressively trying to expand the “free trade” policies that are costing us millions of jobs.

In fact, members of the Obama administration run around and openly talk about how there are things that “we don’t want to make in America”.

For example, the following is what U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk recently told Tim Robertson of the Huffington Post about the Obama administration’s attitude toward keeping manufacturing jobs in America….

Let’s increase our competitiveness… the reality is about half of our imports, our trade deficit is because of how much oil [we import], so you take that out of the equation, you look at what percentage of it are things that frankly, we don’t want to make in America, you know, cheaper products, low-skill jobs that frankly college kids that are graduating from, you know, UC Cal and Hastings [don't want], but what we do want is to capture those next generation jobs and build on our investments in our young people, our education infrastructure.

Unions should be screaming bloody murder about this.

But instead they are going to line up behind Barack Obama once again in 2012 like good little sheeple.

#6 Occupy Wall Street says that the big health insurance companies “have spent millions of dollars on legal teams that look for ways to get them out of contracts in regards to health insurance.”

Well, as I have written about previously, the health insurance companies helped to write huge portions of Obamacare.  Instead of reducing the power of health insurance companies, Obamacare actually gives them more power and will actually increase their profits.  The sad truth is that large portions of Obamacare are virtually identical to a bill that was written by the health insurance trade association in 2009.  Under Obamacare, our health care costs will go up even faster and the quality of our health care will continue to go down.

#7 Occupy Wall Street says that they are angry because the big banks “have taken our houses through an illegal foreclosure process, despite not having the original mortgage.”

Occupy Wall Street is correct about this.

So where has Barack Obama been on this issue?  The reality is that the Obama administration has done very little about the horrific foreclosure abuses that have been going on.

#8 Occupy Wall Street is upset that “our privacy” has been sold “as a commodity.”

Well, why aren’t Occupy Wall Street protesters calling out Barack Obama for his horrific track record on civil liberties.

The national security apparatus that George W. Bush set up has been greatly expanded by Barack Obama.

It was the Obama administration that decided that it was necessary for TSA thugs to feel our private parts before we board our flights and it was the Obama administration that decided that TSA “VIPR teams” should run around the country conducting approximately 8,000 “unannounced security screenings” a year at subway stations, bus terminals, ports and highway rest stops.

So where is the outrage?

The truth is that under the Obama administration the United States is becoming more like a totalitarian police state every single day.

Once again, this issue alone should be enough for Occupy Wall Street to demand that Barack Obama should resign.

For much more on how America is turning into a “Big Brother” police state under Obama, please see these articles….

*32 Signs That The Entire World Is Being Transformed Into A Futuristic Big Brother Prison Grid

#9 Occupy Wall Street is angry that the United States has “perpetuated colonialism at home and abroad.”

Oh really?

Under Barack Obama, the U.S. military has been used as the “police of the world” even more than it was under George W. Bush.

Under Obama, the war in Afghanistan was greatly expanded and the U.S. military began bombing the living daylights out of Libya.  In addition, under Obama the U.S. military has been conducting air strikes in Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia.

Today, there is a U.S. military base in over half of the countries on the planet and U.S. military spending is more than 7 times larger than the military spending of any other nation on earth.

So if “the left” was angry at George W. Bush for what he did, then why aren’t they filled with rage at Barack Obama for his policies?

#10 Occupy Wall Street is angry that the U.S. has “participated in the torture and murder of innocent civilians overseas.”

Well, Barack Obama did not shut down Guantanamo Bay as he promised to do.

So where is the accountability?

Under George W. Bush, millions of “evangelical Christians” were cheering for torture.

Today, millions of “liberals” are cheering while the Obama administration conducts “enhanced interrogations” of prisoners and performs “extraordinary renditions” in foreign countries.

If liberals want to complain about “torture and murder of innocent civilians overseas”, it isn’t the Republicans they should be angry at.

Barack Obama is running our foreign policy, and he should be held accountable for what is going on.

#11 Occupy Wall Street is angry because the wealthy are not paying their “fair share” of taxes.

Well, it is undeniable that many big corporations (such as Obama’s good friends over at GE) quite often get away with paying no taxes at all.

But Barack Obama and the Democrats controlled the White House and all of Congress for two whole years.

So why didn’t they “fix” the tax code while they had the chance?

Could it be that they actually like the current system?

The truth is that our current tax system is so flawed, so complex and so full of holes that it needs to be thrown out entirely.

Many big corporations get away with bloody murder under the current tax system, yet nearly all establishment Democrats and nearly all establishment Republicans want to keep the current system of taxation.

In a previous article, I noted some of the big corporations that make a ton of money and yet have paid less than zero in taxes in recent years….

What U.S. corporations are able to get away with is absolutely amazing.

The following figures come directly out of a report by Citizens for Tax Justice.  These are combined figures for the tax years 2008, 2009 and 2010.

During those three years, all of the corporations below made a lot of money.  Yet all of them paid net taxes that were below zero for those three years combined.

How is that possible?  Well, it turns out that instead of paying in taxes to the federal government, they were actually getting money back.

So for these corporations, their rate of taxation was actually below zero.

If you have not seen these before, you are going to have a hard time believing some of these statistics…..

*Honeywell*

Profits: $4.9 billion

Taxes: -$34 million

*Fed Ex*

Profits: $3 billion

Taxes: -$23 million

*Wells Fargo*

Profits: $49.37 billion

Taxes: -$681 million

*Boeing*

Profits: $9.7 billion

Taxes: -$178 million

*Verizon*

Profits: $32.5 billion

Taxes: -$951 million

*Dupont*

Profits: $2.1 billion

Taxes -$72 million

*American Electric Power*

Profits: $5.89 billion

Taxes -$545 million

*General Electric*

Profits: $7.7 billion

Taxes: -$4.7 billion

Are you starting to get the picture?

The amazing thing is that GE can get away with all this and still ship thousands upon thousands of good American jobs out of the country.

There is no way that our current tax code can be fixed with a few “tweaks” here and there.  Our current tax code is an abomination that should be immediately repealed and flushed down the toilet.

But the Democrats and most Republicans seem to want to keep it around.  They like to play their little social engineering games with the tax code, and the current tax code enables their wealthy donors to do quite nicely.

Occupy Wall Street is right to argue that our tax code is fundamentally unjust, and the number one person that they need to point the finger at is Barack Obama.

So can any “liberal” out there actually defend Barack Obama after reading all of this?

Can anyone out there put forth an intellectual argument for why Occupy Wall Street protesters should be supporting Obama?

The truth is that most of the Occupy Wall Street protesters are intellectual hypocrites.

Most of them are so scared that a Republican might win in 2012 that they won’t say anything bad about Obama.

It is the same trap that many Republicans fell into with George W. Bush.

Look, George W. Bush was a nightmare for this country.

Barack Obama is even worse.

If we are not going to be intellectually honest with ourselves, then we might as well tattoo the word “sheeple” on to our foreheads.

If Occupy Wall Street really believes the stuff that they are saying, then they need to call for Barack Obama to resign.

Does anyone disagree?

Occupy the Fed should be the focus point. Even Dr. Ron Paul said about the OWS:

    http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/185081-paul-offers-support-for-anti-fed-occupy-wall-street-protestors

  • HeartofShadows

Not so much hypocrites as complete morons who are just looking for a cause to get by just like the tea baggers who at first at least seemed to preach about the banks but now became a bunch of racist twits who preach about the illegals all day(the original creator even distanced himself from them now). People in the herd are just so easy to manipulate as history has shown us.

  • A Dodgy Bloke

The Left hypocrites! (I am showing my shocked face). Anybody remember the Anti War Movement? Code Pink and the rest. As soon a BO got elected the Anti War crowned vanished like a fart in typhoon. When was the last time you saw an anti war demo?
The left cannot be honest, they cannot have honest debate, they have to lie and name call. They simply can’t be honest. I’m a little surprised people are surprised.

    • Guido

Good point, sir. Where’s Cindy Sheehan now? I don’t see die-ins and protests at Obama’s house like she had in Tx.

  • pryman

Why focus on the bus driver (Obama), instead of focusing on the ones who hi-jacked the bus (Wall Street).

    • Vee

You, sir, are the only one with a valid point on this entire page.

  • Gary2

Mike-I have to agree with you on this. Obama is a joke! I was expecting an FDR which this country so desperately needs “I welcome their hatred” as FDR said about the banks and the rich.

Obama has been a HUGE disappointment. Reading Ron Suskinds book really exposes this guys true feelings when he hired sommers/guitner etc. Lots of progressives feel this way.

  • REED RICHARDS

    Michael,

Now you’re talking. A good first step in calling for Barack Hussein Obama to resign. However, time to go the distance in calling not only for the resignations of Obama and his cabinet, but time to call for a complete boycott of both wings of the war party, both the Democrats and the Republicans. Without the call for this demand that both wings of the war party be boycotted, you are merely setting people up for the big whammy from the other side of the sledge hammer.

  • mondobeyondo

Don’t know if Barack H. Obama himself is totally responsible for this Mess we’re in. He’s had a lot of help along the way. (George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, to name a couple).

But there’s no denying that Obama is in charge now. He’s been in charge since January 20, 2009. Therefore, whatever he has or has not done since January 20, 2009 is his responsibility. Obama is calling the shots, making the big decisions. Sorry, but you can no longer blame your blunders on some mistake Bill Clinton made in 1994. Statute of limitations ran out long ago. Hee!

Will “Occupy Wall Street” make a difference? One can only hope. There is no real organization, and there is no real leader, a la Martin Luther King Jr. or Cesar Chavez. But at least the masses are beginning to awaken to what is really going on.

    • REED RICHARDS

      mondobeyondo,

OBAMA IS NOW ************** AMERIKAN CITIZENS WITHOUT CHARGE, TRIAL, OR CONVICTION OF ANY KIND IN ANY CIVILIAN COURT OF LAW. HOW WORSE CAN IT GET??????

As I have said many times before, I don’t fault Obama for creating any mess. This was here long before he came onto the national scene. What I fault Obama for is going along with the status quo and allowing the destruction to continue without let up. It’s as if the Juggernaut is laying waste to everything in its path and no one, not even Obama himself, is doing anything to try and stop it. That is what I fault Obama for and why I believe he should resign. At this point, the asylum does not need another wall street flunkie to do its bidding, what the asylum needs is someone with the power, courage, and strength of will to change the corrupt, vile, and disgusting system and to bring about an era of prosperity that benefits as many people as possible. Nothing will change for the better unless and until the plutocrats and the oligarchs are put out of business, permanently………..

      • mondobeyondo

Well, that’s the thing. Obama is in charge, he’s at the helm, and it’s useless to push the blame onto the other guy at this point in time. It’s 2011, he’s had 2 1/2 years already. What’s the deal, you need another 4 years to fix things? (Aaaahhhhh!! Now I get it! Obama ’12! Obama ’12!!)

Better keep searching for another hero. Christie just said he won’t run for President. So, that leaves… Rommey, Perry, maybe Bachmnn, maybe the pizza guy from Florida…

        • REED RICHARDS

          mondobeyondo,

You have me seriously confused with Michael Moore, Joe Scarborough, or one of those other right/left useful idiot snakeoil salesmen. In case you have not read my posts in depth I am totally in favor of bringing down both wings of the war party (Democrats and Republicans) and starting fresh with new blood and new ways of thinking.

          • Kwyjibo

Yes, exactly. Both parties are the problem. It is just an “illusion of choice”, to quote George Carlin. Both parties are one and the same. They differ on the surface only, but once you dig a little deeper, you see that both are controlled by the same people. The same corporations. The same banks. It doesn’t matter who gets elected, the agenda will continue.

That is why no other party is allowed to even have a chance to win, and why the election process became so expensive, to covertly block out any opposition. We keep pushing ‘Democracy’ on other countries, but we haven’t had it here for many decades.

  • Colin

First we had the 99ers, now we have the 99 Percent. From their website, this is how they describe themselves:

    “We Are the 99 Percent

“We are the 99 percent. We are getting kicked out of our homes. We are forced to choose between groceries and rent. We are denied quality medical care. We are suffering from environmental pollution. We are working long hours for little pay and no rights, if we’re working at all. We are getting nothing while the other 1 percent is getting everything. We are the 99 percent.

“Brought to you by the people who occupy wall street. Why will YOU occupy?”

This site features photos of victims of the economic crisis who share their stories. The people who are in this movement aren’t interested in impeaching a president; they are interested in economic equality.

    Here is the web site:

    http://wearethe99percent.tumblr.com/

This protest movement is part of a larger movement seen in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and other areas of the world. (I know there is a protest movement in Chile that is about the cost of education on individuals and families.) This isn’t about a single individual; it’s about people demanding a greater voice in this new global economy.

Here is an article about the situation in Chile:

    http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/is-chile-too-cheap-to-educate-its-young-09292011.html

    • mondobeyondo

Yikes! Sounds like what the French people were saying, around July 14th, 1789….

  • mark

I guess you can refer to them as useful idiots. This is what you get when progresives run anything. And yes Bush was a progresive also. This mess will only get better over time with small federal government types elected to both parts of congress and as president.

  • John

When Fox news interviews the protesters on TV, they seem to intentionally pick out only the “air heads”. This movement needs a leader that can clearly speak the demands as described in this article, all of which are legitimate. If this happened, then MSN could not ridicule them saying they were ridiculous. If this demonstration goes on long enough, maybe a coherent leader will emerge.

  • Steve from Ohio

Occupy Wall Street has been co opted. The bankers have taken the story and made it their own with their control and ownership of the media. The bankers and George Soros have their people being interviewed by the media and make all that are there to be total boobs calling for the re election of Obama.

IF the real story would be told, the majority of people at the protest would be reported that they are calling for ending the FED.

The FED is owned by the banksters. THe Banksters own the media. The media is propagandizing the American people with the idea that the people at the protest are pro Obama. The vast majority of people at the protest want Obama gone, not later but sooner. After hearing the story that the protesters want 4 more years of Obama, the vast majority now may think that these people are crazy because they support Obama.

The Occupy Wall Street movement has been co-opted just as the Tea Party has. The enemy takes control through undercover agents and makes the movement their own thus destroying any ability fo the movement to be successful in its original goal.

ENDING THE FED should be the only goal. It has been instrumental in making the power to create money and charge interest for it the main ammunition for our enslavement.

  • Jeff

Clearly you have not hung out at Liberty Park. The feelings against Obama are absolutely fierce. His capitulation to Wall Street is invariably the reason Occupy Wall Street is doing what it’s doing. I have spent literally hours with the protesters and I have not met one who considers themself an Obama supporter. Most are entirely disillusioned with the systemic corruption that runs to both parties. It’s not, in the end, a party or affiliation thing: it’s a justice and decency thing.

  • UNIONS SUCK!

The rif-raf protesting is nothing but a front for the socialists and communists A.K.A. union thugs who want the party to continue while private industry withers on the vine. The elites love it regardless of what they say, as the bottom line is the ************* protesters want more hand outs by way of government trough policy.

  • UNIONS SUCK!

They also want President Zero made king, per Governor Perdue of North Carolina. Calling for his re-election is all you need to know concerning all those short bus riders protesting Wall Street.

  • John Wakeman

Dear mostly hypocrites. The people protesting on wall street are putting their asses on the line to DO SOMETHING about causes they believe in. For you to sit there from the comfort of your home and type criticisms and pick nits is in very bad taste. What are you DOING about your concerns? NOTHING at all. So, put up or shut up!

    • Guido

Hypocrites? You know, the college students on Wall St. have one luxury the rest of us don’t-free time. I’ve never been able to attend any of the political protests and meetings and movements that I might have because I was busy working. I find it telling that unions can afford to fill Wall Street with protesters while I’m busy working for my living.

  • Alfred E. Neuman

The puerile and insipid Amerikan mind is incapable of logical thought, whether the individual Amerikan feels himself or herself to be on the “right” or on the “left.”

Instead of sober political analysis and understanding, Amerikans have “branding.” I have seen too many Amerikans who don’t have a pot to piss in waxing lyrical about Obongo, even after three years of blatant corporate toadyism and banker enabling on his part, simply because his pigmentation is assumed to automatically bring a certain set of anti-establishment inclinations with it.

When I point out that Obongo’s biggest campaign donors were Goldman Sachs and BP, they just stare blankly. When I tell them that all the white presidents after JFK have been corporate lackeys, and ask them why they assume a black president should be any different, they stiffen and start stuttering.

We are heading toward a corporate-sponsored pseudo-bolshevik “revolutionary” movement in this country, which will ostensibly be “opposed” by a corporate-sponsored pseudo-fascist movement steeped in circus-tent religious yahooism and corn-pone southern jingoism.

Both “opposing” forces will be united in their subservience to international bankers and corporate interests (can anyone smell the hand of George Soros in this fake, Obama-loving leftist “opposition?”) and in their commonly shared trait of Amerikan stupidity.

  • http://www.povertylinejournal.blogspot.com/ the optimist

I too am deeply disappointed with Obama, but more deeply disgusted with the obstructionist tactics used to block what he was really trying to get — UNIVERSAL HEATHCARE. You can’t call what shreds are left “obamacare”, this isn’t his design. Yep, Gary, I was hoping for “FDR Neue” too.

The bottom line is that a president just doesn’t have a lot of power, compared to congress and the senate. THEY are the real problem. They all need to GO.

And what the HELL is with all the people out there who insist on using his full name — c’mon, that’s pretty transparent, isn’t it?

People, all of you who still insist on using terms (in a demeaning way) left, right, dems, repubs, YOU JUST DON’T GET IT. Wake up — this splitting of issues and people into black/white, right/wrong camps with zero real dialogue is just mindless. YOU are part of the problem if you don’t realize that the whole political system is broken, and “your side” is not going to do any better with it that what’s been done already. I am SICK of the name calling.

    • Highspeedloafer

Optimist, There is hope. I have voted republican in every election since the mid 70′s. But I am so sick of the 2 parties that I am looking for something better to do. Name calling isn’t the answer to whats wrong in our nation.

  • Kevin

The problem is not individual but rather systemic. We would need to elect for practical purposes all new Congressmen, Senators and President untouched by the vast hand of covert and overt political corruption.

The power elite would throw the President to the wolves to placate the masses and then replace him with another that feeds from the same bowl.

  • portuguese person

I am of extreme left i can say…

I may say too than i hate america and than i think than its a horrible country to live…

The problem than america got its than their critizens aren’t smart enouth to protest in the right place…

I will say other european think….

The most facist party of portugal its MUTCH,MUTCH,MUTCH less auctoritan than the democratic party in america…

About the political partys i will say other think, america fails at the political partys,a 2 party system its horrible,if 1 buys the other the thinks are over….in portugal there are near 10,there is near 2 left(comunist)partys, only 1 i think than its conservative and others are in the midle term…

    • Kevin

Multiple parties are an interesting concept but the vote could easily be so fragmented that 20% of the voters agree with the direction of the country. Granted I’m not too sure a much greater percentage agree with the direction the US has been on. Regardless it’s not a third party, fourth party or fifth party issue. It’s about “The People” being sufficiently educated regarding their elected officials voting record and not their statements. When your Congressman and Senator vote to make you compete tariff free with slave labor vote them out. Too few know their elected officials real voting record. A few good speeches of “I feel your pain” and then comes the NAFTA and China Free Trade signature on an agreement that is going to cause you and most people you know a lot of pain. Most remember the speech and too few know the vote / signature.

We get the government we elect. No better, no worse.

    • Alfred E. Neuman

“Portuguese Person,” any **** can scream “I hate you!!” As long as you admit that your knowledge of Amerika comes ONLY from the Amerikan official corporate media and/or the Euro-leftist official corporate media, scream away.

FYI, some reasons nothing is being done by the Amerikan people (except for what looks increasingly like a Soros-directed dog-and-pony-show) is that 1)Amerika is not a single nation anymore but rather a collection of nations; 2) the Amerikan lifestyle breeds isolation and hence disorganization in the face of oppression and corruption; 3) the isolated people in this country are rightly fearful of the massive, technologically all encompassing police state apparatus that has been erected — for now. Our ******************* fascists make your Salazar look like a loveable old grandpa.

This country has plenty of people with intellect, though you don’t know it. They are sidelined for now, but won’t be forever. Your stereotyping doesn’t allow for recognition of such leadership-quality people in this country as the late Chalmers Johnson, Karen Kwiatkowski, Michael Scheuer, Ambassador Joseph Wilson and myriads of other quality, silent and silenced people. You’ve never heard those names? I thought so.

So “obrigado” for nothing, Portugoosie. You’d do better to worry about the detritus of your former African colonies that is overrunning your country instead of sticking your nasty and ill-informed nose where it isn’t welcome.

I hate it when foreigners show up to critique and gloat over what they perceive as our “failings.”

    • mondobeyondo

      Well…ummm.. yeah.

Not having lived in Portugal, or knowing anything about Portugese politics and such as… I can’t offer a proper rebuttal to your statements.

I can only say you may have a point, and that you may also be slightly (just a bit) delusional.

      Having said that –
Good luck weathering the coming financial crisis.
You ARE one of the famous PIIGS, after all.

God Bless America! (waving Stars and Stripes over my head. Sorry, I can’t help it. I’m an American!)

  • http://Whatiscomingtv.com AffinityNetNews

The left and right have long-since been controlled by the same money and corrupt power that owns The federal Reserve (which is the actual problem) because, they control the Wall Street mega-banks and print the money and control interest rates that creates the endless ‘boom-bust’ cycles since it’s creation in 1913.

But, you’ll never hear either of the left-right controlled opposition put blame where it belongs because, they are to create deflection from the Federal Reserve, and keep the message convoluted by focusing on the broader image of Wall Street.

The vast majority of the 99%, are absolutely clueless and ignorant of the true objective of the criminal banking cartel: the goal of the global elite banksters is to collapse the Wall Street banks, and use these well meaning yet naive protestors as a pretext so, they can reconsolidate wealth and power to an even more draconian and corrupt centralized control-grid and bring the USA into full financial melt-down, and steal all 401K’s, pension funds, personal savings accounts, and personal property etc. This will all be done once again to ‘save the nation’ read: ‘save the banksters once again’, when they’re seating on countless trillions already stolen.

Why are they trying to destroy America? To foment a Totalitarian Fascist Social Crony-Collectivist World Financial Order. This can’t be done until America has been completely destroyed as well as the EU, which will fall first to this re-consolidation pogrom.

For my own two cents, I have often said that the Left is completely and totally morally bankrupt, and that the Right never had any morals, only hypocrisy.

  • Gay Veteran

The FAKE Right/Left divide is what allows the banksters to destroy this country. Obama, Bush, Soros, Koch brothers, they all serve the finanial oligarchy that rules this country. They are neo-feudalists and are on the verge of turning us into serfs.

“…Look, George W. Bush was a nightmare for this country.
    Barack Obama is even worse….”

I totally agree, he has put the bipartisan seal of approval on all that Bush did (and Obama has expanded on that!).

“…Today, millions of “liberals” are cheering while the Obama administration conducts “enhanced interrogations” of prisoners and performs “extraordinary renditions” in foreign countries….”

I totally agree!!! My principles do not depend on which party controls the White House.

  • Piglet

“The Obama administration has pushed very hard for new ‘free trade’ agreements with Panama, South Korea and Colombia and the Obama administration is currently making the Trans-Pacific Partnership (“the NAFTA of the Pacific”) a very high priority.”

Interesting that these countries are all places where the US has or has had (Panama) military forces. Off the southern coast of South Korea, the US is forcing that country to build a new naval base that will be used by the US to control commercial shipping lanes. In Columbia, the US is setting up seven military bases, not so much for (pointless) anti-drug operations, but an eventual attack on Venezuela. I’m not certain what’s currently going on in Panama, but I’m sure there’s some sort of “tit for tat” going on there as well. Foreign countries are getting something in return for granting the wishes of the USA’s glorious, gifted rulers.

The lines between the dots become more clear when one sees the link between military global empire efforts and trade agreements.

The presidency is a joke. The Bliderberg group picks their man whether he is Demo or Repub. Why did Barry and Hilary attend that groups meeting and a few days later she drops out of the race? Hmm. Wake up my friends Big business and powerful rich men own the world. The only thing to fix this problem is revoloution. God forbid we have violent protests in this country. It will be all the govt. needs to take away our second amendment rights. They will come for your guns make no mistake.

how can the american people can be so ignorant and dumb the only thing im gonna say there gonna deserve what they get those morons

  • Douglas Dillard

When Obama came into power in January of 2008 he acted more like a happy go lucky kid who had just won the lottery rather than an economic rescuer coming upon the scene of an extreme emergency. Remember all the media appearances as he made the rounds amongst the popular TV shows? Remember the international trips promising massive American aid? Remember all the excitement as liberal radio talked feverishly about getting to finally pass their agenda?

As he entered office, Obama seemed too preoccupied pushing socialism to be bothered with the economy, the entire reason he got elected since voters were rightfully frustrated by a mostly out of touch Republican party. But his only plan at the time was to merely borrow and spend more money and hope everything would somehow magically turn out OK. Most of this money was wasted either on bloated government or the politically connected (Wall Street). I knew right then that Obama was probably going to be a one term President.

Nothing Obama has done up until now has addressed our nation’s basic economic problem: we have been consuming more than we produce for decades resulting in crushing debt levels.

I agree with you Michael, Obama needs to go!

Keep up the great work! I especially like point number 4 above as it amazes me to no end how angry energized liberals can’t seem to figure out that the heart of our financial problems lie with the existence of a corrupt central bank.

    END THE FED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As Zero Hedge reported yesterday, the US closed out Fiscal 2010-2011 with a $95 billion surge in debt in one day brining the total to just under $14.8 trillion. That, however was not nearly enough to settle all outstanding debt, and on the first day of the next fiscal year, Timmy G added another $47 billion in debt, to have a closing balance of $14.837 trillion on the first day of the 2011-2012 fiscal year. In other words, in just the past two work days, America has technically settled a whopping $142 billion in debt. There was a time when a year was needed to issue this much debt. Then, a month. Now, we are officialy down to two days. What is ironic is that the recently expanded debt ceiling of $15.194 trillion has just $400 billion of additional dry powder. At this rate, it won’t last the US until the end of the calendar year.

They are not “supporting Obama”, the whole system is broke and things need to happen. If you don’t think this then just go about your day. Some act if there is a difference anymore who is “representing” us in the White House and Congress. They don’t run the country corporations do. American Serfdom

  • Nam Marine

Keep in mind, most of the protesters are Union thugs and Communists! Of course they want the Muslim re-elected! How else will they get their welfare and food stamps?

    • Gay Veteran

The banksters want to keep us divided. So they should say thanks to Nam Marine

  • Bob

It makes no difference who’s president, republican or democrat. Their already bought and payed for by big money before they get in office. Same with congress, everybody knows this already if they have half a brain.

  • Angela Smith

Maybe you need to stop and take a look at what Occupy Wall Street is about.. This is about getting together and letting the government and banks know that we are not happy with what they are doing to this country. Your right, Obama has been terrible for this country. Then again so was Bush hence the farce with 9-11 and war on terror. There is no longer a difference between a Democrat and Republican. Wake up, know your enemy and stand up for change!

  • JOBlack

You are wrong again. It started with Ronald Reagan, the actor, fake president, when Obama was a high school student. He was Wall Street’s biggest whore, allowed them to rewrite the rules so that they guaranteed unions would go bust, guaranteed lower wages and benefits for workers, guaranteed millions of jobs would go overseas and guaranteed slave wages to those misinformed third world countries, guaranteed more pollution to the environment by relaxing EPA standards, guaranteed workers pensions would be converted to 401k’s that has turned out to be the cookie jar for the rich where we are guaranteed that they could put their dirty hands in it lose it all and not risk their own monies. Reagan guaranteed that our own health would be determined by how much profit Wall Street would make if they refused to treat and turn away most people coverage even if they paid into it.

Republicans you have always been and will always be the whore for the business world. They hire you to speak for them. You are guilty before all of mankind and the Creator of this earth for ruining and playing around with billions of lives and ruining the earth, He is going to make you pay!

  • JD

Lol, Youre funny Guido, I was thinking the same thing. I would love to protest, but Im too busy trying to make a living.

  • _Underscore

Tricky for you Americans. I agree with the blog, Obama is everything the protesters are against. But there is no Left wing in America, and it’s a two party system, so those protesters have to vote to the lefter of the two right parties.

I hear your calls to abandon both parties but to where? There seems nowhere else to go, particularly from the vantage point of those protesters.

  • Kwyjibo

OK, fine. Call for the Resignation of Obama. Then what? Whoever takes his place won’t make any difference. The problems didn’t start with Obama, or even Bush for that matter. It goes back decades. All the presidents are the same, bought and paid for by the many-headed beast known as the corporations and banks. You chop off one head, and another takes its place.

The people don’t matter in this country and haven’t for a very long time. The whole American Dream was just a lie to begin with. Everyone who bought into the dream were just being used to make the few people on the top insanely wealthy. Get an education, buy a home, buy a car…next thing you know you are hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, paying exorbitant interest fees to the rich for the rest of your life. That’s why they ballooned the prices, longer time to pay off, more interest…

The whole system is broken, it was a lie from the beginning, and getting rid of the president won’t make a bit of difference. Ending the Fed would be a start, but, JFK already tried to do it, and look what happened to him…

  • the dude

The author of this article is a hypocrite. He talks about how much taxes major companies get away with and he blames the Obama admin for not doing ***** about it. Well all the companies he put up on his list are all the fortune 500 companies on wall street. And the damn Obama admin can’t do ****** about changing polices. Its up to the legislative branch to do that. The democrats and the Republicans are both endorsed by the major corps. They can’t forget about who put them there. Its not the people. Its the guys with the big money. Money talks. That’s what Occupy wall st wants you too see. THIS GUY IS A ***************** IDIOT.

I agree with these points. The corporations want us fighting each other instead of blaming them. This is what middle eastern dictators do – they deflect the anger from themselves to the ‘West’. But I think you have proved the point (via the demonstrations of corruption above) that the true target of anger should be the corporations (who bribe both parties to do their bidding).

So yes they should be made at the government as well as corporations but the government is doing the bidding of the corporations via lobbyists and rotating govt/corporate staff.

Also people should think about retraining, moving to other states, going back to school or starting a business. I’ve been doing IT and have had no problems getting contracts and I turn down many and take time off in between, and have paid off my house, car and have substantial savings at the age of 42.

  • HPRoberts

Reflect upon how the public school system in America has been politicized, readily substituting politically motivated policies and procedures for sound principles of education. The public school landscape is so littered with obstacles that good teachers, now substantially frustrated, leave the profession. Consequently, the education a student receives in public schools today is substantially inferior to what is required to earn a living as a good citizen of the country. Government would be well advised to financially support private schools, allowing parents and students to choose which school they prefer. America’s greatness is built upon individuals freely choosing which opportunities they desire to pursue, rather than coercive government dictates.

“Ok Sorry I let the cat out of the bag in the title…but this is huge news that I have seen nowhere else!…

I don’t think this has been connected yet….read and enjoy!

Sooo…I ask myself a simple question…how can these protesters be all camped up in this Zuccotti Park right in the middle of downtown Manhattan and nobody is even telling them “Move along”…now the park is in a nice area..hell it’s right in the financial district…a very nice area. They are trashing the place, that’s coming from the people down there, not my assessment. Now there are usual park rules there…no sleeping on benches…no overnight sleep outs…the typical and mundane rules etc etc. This park also routinely gets cleaned every night, now it hasn’t been cleaned since sept 16th…and it’s becoming a “sanitary problem”…I’m sure that’s no exaggeration with people pissing and god knows what else all night long in the park…so it’s no stretch to imagine how cruddy it is by now.

You can read one of the many articles here about that…

    [link to gothamist.com]

So apparently since the park is private property and owned by a big multi faceted and multi asset international corporation….oooohhh…remember when they were they EVIL!!!! Bad multinational conglomerate!…what are we protesting again Mindy Moonunit?…I forgot…errrp…so anyway…the owner of this property among many others is “Brookfield Office properties”…they are part of Brookfield Asset Management Inc…bigass company worth around 150 billion or more…

So Mayor Bloomberg says there’s nothing really he can do until BPO decides the protesters ought to be evicted and they were nice enough to issue this public statement saying they weren’t going to do that….awww…see how nice?…Well I would guess that if Mr Liberal Mike Bloomberg felt like asking them he probably could….

BECAUSE HIS LONG TIME LIVE-IN GIRLFRIEND IS ON THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS!!!..

Yes that’s correct…NYC Mayor Mike Bloomberg’s long time lady Diana L. Taylor is on the board of directors for Brookfeild Properties…

    Here she is here:

    [link to http://www.brookfieldofficeproperties.com

    and here..

    [link to topics.nytimes.com]

Now this seems to be fairly common knowledge to some in NYC, but it certainly is NOT being reported in the news at all…So the Mayor who claims his hands are tied?…maybe not so tied since his woman is on the board of the property owners…

So what else is this Brookfield outfit up to?….

Well we got the namesake…John E. Zuccotti he’s on the board of BPO…so who is he?…well Mr Zuccotti was on the Board of directors of WELL POINT HEALTH NETWORK…for years…remember them?…they were THE most Evil health insurance company just yanking the po sheeples benefits away that only Obamacare could save us! from…in fact Obama went for the throat in rhetoric on them…I find that highly ironic that the protestanistas are camped out in a park named after a board member of one of the most demonized and the largest and most evil health insurer in the country…lol…what we potestin again Mandy?….lol…..dumfuks…

You can read about him here:

    [link to people.forbes.com]

Ok so more ironic than sinister…so what else is Brookfield up to…

Well BPO…that’s just the property division who might they donate money too?…they are a multi billion division…so they probably give some good bucks out…well not so much, not publicly anyway…they did however hire a lobbyist firm for a couple years several years back, paid them a couple hundred grand over 2 years…in fact was there largest client in their first year.

Little start up lobbyist outfit named….

    Oldaker, Biden & Belair

Nahhhh…ya think?….oh yes you thought right…that is the Biden name of VP Joe Biden fame and that Biden is his son..Robert Hunter Biden…

Can check that below and I won’t even bother getting into how Hunter was on the board of Amtrak while Joe “Mr Amtrak” Biden was pouring money into that sucking vortex of money waste.

So....so far we got the Mayors defacto wife on the board of directors and some old payments to the Vice Presidents son's lobbying firm...there must be more..this huge corporation is just coming off as far too nice....even with the Mayors wife on the Board...the Bloombergs are only luke warm with the Obama's anyway...and I'm sure they don't like the protesters stinkin up some one the nicest areas downtown...so there has to be more pull somewhere...

Well there probably is....and it's a bit higher up the food chain...

One of the big divisions of Brookfield Asset Management inc is...
Brookfield renewable power...and guess who's govt has an ASSLOAD of Green energy money...stimulus money...federal loan guarantees and all that money moving right to the very same property owning multinational conglomerate that owns that dinky little park....OUR ******** GOVT...

Here's just a few and I'm sure we could find a TON more if we wanted to look a little deeper.

    Brookfield Renewable Power

This company traces its history back to a Brazilian electric utility incorporated in 1899; today, it's headquartered in West Virginia and manages renewable energy projects in the U.S., Brazil and Canada, including 167 hydroelectric stations and two wind farms. A publicly traded company, Brookfield maintains stable revenues thanks to long-term power contracts, and uses this advantage to help pioneer next-generation projects in wind and thermal energy. Besides specializing in renewable energy, the company has also donated nearly $4 million to local sustainability projects. Brookfield also voluntarily meets the low-impact standards put forward by the Ecologo Program and the Low Impact Hydropower Institute.

Brookfield is currently working on a wind energy project in Coos County, New Hampshire, financed in part with the Department of Energy’s partial guarantee of $135.8 million in loans. The Department of Energy says the project will result in 198 construction jobs and and save some 12,000 tons of carbon pollution once it is up and running.

Wow 198 temporary jobs?...that's less than a million a pop, pretty good by govt standards!..

    [link to http://www.good.is

Hmmmm...this is odd....they have almost half of their 168 power generating stations in.....New York....

Massive move being made here....huge bet on "Green Energy"

Brookfield to merge hydro power assets into global renewable energy powerhouse September 13, 2011

Brookfield Asset Management is looking to merge its hydroelectric and wind power assets into the world's second-largest public renewable power company in a move designed to cash in on the growing demand for cleaner power.

The conglomerate said Tuesday it plans to combine Brookfield Renewable Power Fund's (TSX:BRC.UN) hydroelectric stations and wind farms with those of its wholly owned subsidiary Brookfield Renewable Power Inc.

The merger would create Brookfield Renewable Energy Partners LP — or BREP — a global, publicly traded partnership focused on renewable power, primarily hydroelectric, in Canada, the United States and Brazil with assets of about US$13 billion.

A NH Solyndra? Wind farm gets fed loan

In the name of “green energy,” the Obama administration is using taxpayer money to subsidize a New Hampshire wind farm that is a subsidiary of a hugely profitable company.

New Hampshire’s largest wind farm, the Granite Reliable Power project under construction in Coos County, is jointly owned by BAIF Granite Holdings, LLC and Freshnet Wind Energy, LLC. BAIF owns 75 percent of Granite Reliable. BAIF Granite Holdings was created earlier this year by Brookfield Renewable Power, which is a subsidiary of Brookfield Asset Management of New York.

That company, which runs clean energy operations around the world, has deep pockets. It reported net income of $454 million in 2009 and $3.2 billion in 2010. Brookfield Renewable Power financed the creation of BAIF Granite Holdings from its Brookfield Americas Infrastructure fund, which was reported in February to have $2.7 billion in assets. With that kind of backing, it is curious that the U.S. Department of Energy announced it would guarantee up to 80 percent of a $168.9 million loan for the Granite Reliable wind farm project last week.

    [link to http://www.unionleader.com

Department of Energy Finalizes Loan Guarantee of Nearly $170 Million to Granite Reliable Power

    September 23, 2011 - 3:31pm

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu announced today the Department of Energy finalized a partial guarantee for $168.9 million loan to Granite Reliable Power, LLC. The loan guarantee will support a 99 megawatt (MW) wind generation project that will be New Hampshire’s largest wind farm.

    [link to energy.gov]

Well now…454 Million net income in the 2009 and 3.2 billion in 2010….that’s quite a rise in profits…

Now…..why would a huge and very rich company that had 3.2 Billion dollars in profits in 2010 need or be able to get a Loan guarantee for 168 million…which the Dept Of Energy announced finalizing on….Sept 23rd 2011….not long after the OWS protests started really getting going…a 168 million dollar loan guarantee with no visible reason why behind it….to the very same corporation that owns the very same Zuccotti park the protesters are camped out in….

Maybe they ought to form a circular protesting squad….”

This looks an awful lot like the Obama inaguration….a lot of dumb people in attendance but so few have to miss work to do it. Everytime I see an article about this, I think “Wall Street protesters; a juicy contradiction.”

  • Walter

You are not all there. The comments and observations you made above are one sided and/or completely bizzare. I am scared to know that some people actually listen to you.

  • http://www.savelakeatitlan.org Dunede

The left is still in shock that they’ve been duped by Obama as there are still right wingers who still think 9-11 was done by “Terrorists”. Dumb goes both ways.
When the “left” and the “right” stop to figure out we’re always being shafted regardless of whose icon gets in office we may get ahead a bit. Instead of berating these Wall Street protestors who actually have the right target to demonstrate against you should be supporting them for getting at least that part right

  • http://comcast.net Lisa Hauer

So who do you think on the right will do better? The republicans certainly aren’t going to help you get jobs. As far as I’m concerned, all politicians are crooks, just vote for the lesser of two evils, which are the democrats because they seem to want to help people, maybe, (unlike republicans).

  • Anita Hulluvacheck

I agree with everything the author says except the part about OWS not being critical of Obama. I worked to elect him and as soon as he started to lard his administration with crooks I knew I had made a BIG mistake. I am also outraged at the hypocrisy of the so-called anti-war left. I thought I was part of a principled movement only to have them become silent observers as soon as the letter on the jersey was a D. It makes me sick that it is only a war crime if you are a republican. Obama must go. That is clear. He is as corrupt a neo-con as any Clintonista or Bushite. I quit the deomcratic party completely over Obamas betrayal and the complicity of the congress. It makes me puke when I hear about how evil the Kochs are when Inmelt destroyed a country. How many BP level disasters have they caused? Who did BP contribute the MOST money to? Obama. How many times have the Kochs wrecked the entire economy like Goldman/Sachs, Bernanke Summers et al.I am so appalled at the use of Drones to murder people all over the world . I can’t stand the fact that YESTERDAY we attacked 2 more countries making it a total of 8 open shooting wars and god knows how many secret wars. I have been annoyed at the right wing for criticizing Obama for stupid crazy birth certificate nonsense when he had real war crimes to complain about. If the right points out how bad Obama has betrayed his supporters and abandoned decency they might get somewhere. Not even his friends can trust him. When Obama murdered an American citizen without due process I vowed to do what I can and unite with whoever end this disgraceful presidency on ethical grounds. Obama is in the process of ginning up a war with Iran that could go nuclear. He must be stopped immediately before he gets us into any more wars.Obama should be impeached and or resign. My OWS protest is against Obama and his warcrimes as much as wallstreet and the banks. Don’t think for a second that I forgot about Hillary. Her warmongering money grubbing BS is about as low rent as it comes. Her complicity with TransCanada and its BS environmental impact statement for the Keystone XL and the theft of American ranchers land to feed the coffers of big oil makes her prosecution ready as well. I don’t gave a Flying F*** about party I care about America. I was upset by Obamas financial crimes but not nearly as upset as I am about his war crimes. At this point it is not about elections it is about rooting out the bi-partisan corruption at the highest level of government and finance. The fed needs to go. Crooks of both parties need to be prosecuted. We need to turn the warmongers and moneychangers out of the temple of government. Obama should be the first to be prosecuted. Occupy wallstreet is not in favor of Obama. There are many of us who are against him and the number is growing quickly. If you want to help the country join OWS and please help us expose the war crimes of this administration and end it before Obama bombs Iran which will trigger retaliation followed by nuclear strikes from Isreal.

  • http://iflizwerequeen.com Liz Berry

You miss one important and critical caveat: Occupy Wall Streeters do not support Barack Obama. Many of them, like me will write in a candidate before we vote for Obama. He can go to H along with ALL the Republican/Tea Party candidates for President.

The occupy Wall Streeters are working to run Independents from our own US Congressional districts to replace ALL 435 members of the House of Representatives. We are the 99%–not the 1%. And Wall Street greed is part of the problem. Wall Street is responsible for the economic crash.

Congress does not give a D and why should they? Wall Street works just fine for millionaires. Go to Open Secrets and look at the increase in the wealth of our members of Congress (44% millionaires when only 1% of the US population are millionaires). What you will find is that from 2008 to 2009 when literally millions of Americans lost their jobs, Eric Cantor (the same guy who sponsored the Korean trade agreement last WEd that will ship 169,000 jobs overseas and increase the trade deficit by $16 billion)–Mr. Cantor increased his net worth over $1 million from 2008 to 2009; But it’s not limited to Republicans in Congress. Nancy Pelosi increased her net worth by over $20 million from 2008 to 2009. Republican Rep Sensenbrenner increased his net worth by $5 million during that same time period.

No, you don’t understand the Occupy Wall Street movement at all if you think it is some “left” Obama movement. We have as much disdain for him as we do for David Koch

  • Maximus

Actually Republicans have been at the helm of the deregulation’s of the banks and corporate power over our government for the last 50 years so if anybody deserves the focus it’s them, and that’s why you’ve seen them come out against this movement so forcefully and to try derive irrelevancy for it,at first. Now that this has achieved world support they are trying to take the focus off them and point it at the White House and the democrats while it is unfocused as to who is the creators of this government corruption and why. Republicans don’t pass legislation to help middle class Americans. Only the rich and corporate profits benefit from their legislation’s, interesting don’t you think? And now you know why this blog and false argument against Obama, the only guy standing in the way of easy transfer of power to private corporate industry.

    • Jay

You persist in using the labels ‘republican’ and ‘democrat’.
How long will it be until you realise that both parties are the same people and they’re all working against you?

  • Golden

You all sound crazy and under-informed. Check the facts, President Obama is not perfect and no other will be. His job is not to create laws and policies, that is supposed to be what your congress does. Blame them if you don’t like what’s going on. (President) Obama (for you disrespectful people) is supposed to implement and enforce laws. Unfortunately he hasn’t been given anything to work with. If you stop looking at FOX, CNN, or any other MSM Network for information, you might have a little bit more appreciation. Look at real statistics, compare them to the hell we’ve come from. President Obama did intend to do more than he has done, however, the problem was worse than he knew. As Candidate Obama he was only given a partial glimpse into the deep whole that your former President dug us into. And, look at the numbers, we are climbing out in several places, but everything takes time. He told you that when he was hired. Really, you think Mitt Romney or Ron Paul will fix this. Go ahead and try and watch what little middle class we have left go bye-bye. Foolish and Flighty Americans is what we are. Get over yourselves and look at yourselves (Who have you allowed to be elected to congress?)It’s Congress. They are the problem, I wouldn’t care who the President was or is.

  • teddy

Of course Obama takes campaign money from wall street contributors ya jackass, they all do. Thats the only way you can get enough financial backing these days to compete with any of the other candidates running for office. Not saying he necessarily would refuse it given the chance for some other means of campaigning funds. My point is, Obama is the lesser of the evils. The other candidates that have a chance of becoming the next president don’t remotely compare.

I love how republicans point fingers at Obama for doing things that they’ve been doing for years. Only difference is Obama has done a lot more to help us then Bush ever did. A few things didn’t go through, but what would you expect when Republicans turn start stomping their feet whining because it’s Democrats want to change the rules to TRY and get things turned around for everyone. Republicans and the 1% heard this, started plugging their ears saying, “If we can’t have it OUR way then NOBODY GETS TO PLAY! WE’RE NOT LISTENING!”, refusing to let anything democrats put forward. Obama can’t be blamed for the country as it turned out to be. Bush handed over the reins that the people voted Obama to have to try and steer us in a better direction. Bush smiling the whole way through because he knew…he knew that the country was run down by him and his administration just as it planned to do. What better way to make the democrats look incompetent, then to run the prized stallion into the ground until it seemed it could never recover and point fingers at them all and say, “SEE! SEE! WE didn’t let this happen! THEY did! It was a little bad when WE were in charge, but THEY couldn’t fix it all in one go!.” They attacked Obama from everything to his birth place, his heritage, his ethnicity, anything to take the peoples’ eyes off from how the previous administration tore this country down faster than even THEY could have predicted.

Also, Fox News and other right-wing owned news stations calls everything he put forward “socialism” or “communism”. Why? Mainly because the people watching those stations are usually religious and listen to any drivel they spit out. If there’s one thing we’ve learned in history is that religious people tend to listen to the most absurd things and believe it as long as the speaker says they believe in the same god(FANATICALLY). They continue to play the religious card by saying with their policy that is even similar to “If you love Jesus, then you have to listen and believe [Enter political group here]. Both parties use it, but republicans use the religious card without hesitation because they know the gullible are just waiting to find out who “jesus” would vote for instead of finding out what’s really going on.

I believe the fact that religion has had far too much to do with our political system would devastate the founding fathers. It has and is mostly used as a distraction of the people, so they don’t realize they’re fight against their own interests. When they vote republican, who “believe in jesus”, they’re really voting for their lives to remain miserable.

…ok that’s my 2 cents. Have a good day people.

“Declaration of the Occupation of New York City”

As we gather together in solidarity to express a feeling of mass injustice, we must not lose sight of what brought us together. We write so that all people who feel wronged by the corporate forces of the world can know that we are your allies.

As one people, united, we acknowledge the reality: that the future of the human race requires the cooperation of its members; that our system must protect our rights, and upon corruption of that system, it is up to the individuals to protect their own rights, and those of their neighbors; that a democratic government derives its just power from the people, but corporations do not seek consent to extract wealth from the people and the Earth; and that no true democracy is attainable when the process is determined by economic power. We come to you at a time when corporations, which place profit over people, self-interest over justice, and oppression over equality, run our governments. We have peaceably assembled here, as is our right, to let these facts be known.

They have taken our houses through an illegal foreclosure process, despite not having the original mortgage.

They have taken bailouts from taxpayers with impunity, and continue to give Executives exorbitant bonuses.

They have perpetuated inequality and discrimination in the workplace based on age, the color of one’s skin, sex, gender identity and sexual orientation.

They have poisoned the food supply through negligence, and undermined the farming system through monopolization.

They have profited off of the torture, confinement, and cruel treatment of countless animals, and actively hide these practices.

They have continuously sought to strip employees of the right to negotiate for better pay and safer working conditions.

They have held students hostage with tens of thousands of dollars of debt on education, which is itself a human right.

They have consistently outsourced labor and used that outsourcing as leverage to cut workers’ healthcare and pay.

They have influenced the courts to achieve the same rights as people, with none of the culpability or responsibility.

They have spent millions of dollars on legal teams that look for ways to get them out of contracts in regards to health insurance.

They have sold our privacy as a commodity.

They have used the military and police force to prevent freedom of the press.

They have deliberately declined to recall faulty products endangering lives in pursuit of profit.

They determine economic policy, despite the catastrophic failures their policies have produced and continue to produce.

They have donated large sums of money to politicians, who are responsible for regulating them.

They continue to block alternate forms of energy to keep us dependent on oil.

They continue to block generic forms of medicine that could save people’s lives or provide relief in order to protect investments that have already turned a substantial profit.

They have purposely covered up oil spills, accidents, faulty bookkeeping, and inactive ingredients in pursuit of profit.

They purposefully keep people misinformed and fearful through their control of the media.

They have accepted private contracts to murder prisoners even when presented with serious doubts about their guilt.

They have perpetuated colonialism at home and abroad.

They have participated in the torture and murder of innocent civilians overseas.

They continue to create weapons of mass destruction in order to receive government contracts.

To the people of the world,

We, the New York City General Assembly occupying Wall Street in Liberty Square, urge you to assert your power.

Exercise your right to peaceably assemble; occupy public space; create a process to address the problems we face, and generate solutions accessible to everyone.

To all communities that take action and form groups in the spirit of direct democracy, we offer support, documentation, and all of the resources at our disposal.

    “Republicans Fear President Obama”

Republicans have created this completely fictional president. His name is Barack X and he’s an Islamo-socialist revolutionary who’s coming for your guns, raising your taxes, slashing the military, apologizing to other countries, and taking his cues from Europe or worse yet, Saul Alinsky. And this is how politics has changed; you used to have to run against an actual candidate, but now you just recreate him inside the bubble and run against your new fictional candidate.

That’s how Bush won in 2004, by running against John Kerry, a French war criminal. And speaking of Bush, I know conservatives are saying, come on Democrats did the same thing to him. No. Say what you will about the left’s hatred of Bush, at least we were hating on the real guy. We didn’t invent a boogeyman who tanked the economy, took us to war on false pretenses, and tortured prisoners. That was the actual guy.

But run down the list of complaints about fantasy Obama. He wants to raise your taxes, even though he’s lowered them. Confiscate your guns, even though he’s never mentioned it, and read terrorists their rights, yeah, like he did Tuesday in Somalia. And look what Gingrich said about him this month. Yes, Obama is anti-work. You remember the bill he championed, The Grab A Corona And Call In Sick Act.

You see, the difference is the Republicans hatred of Obama is based on a paranoid feeling about what he might do. What’s he’s thinking. What he secretly wants to change. Anger with Bush was based on what he actually did. What Bush was thinking didn’t matter, because he wasn’t.

The right is terrified of Barack Obama. Fear is the heartbeat of conservative ideology. Conservatives aren’t bullies. They are cowards.

Beneath the loud bluster of a conservative is some who is ready to wet their pants.

The central tenant of American conservatism is fear of the unknown. This is why conservatives are always striving to return to the past. The future is bad because it will bring about change, and change equals fear.

After 9/11 George W. Bush and Dick Cheney’s responses gave Republicans the green light to give in and let their fears run wild. What did Bush and Cheney do after 9/11? They went into hiding. In future years, Bush and Cheney would govern by spreading fear. They used fear as tool to gain and keep power. (This is why among numerous other things, Iraq was a “threat” and the color coded terror alert level was constantly tinkered with). Under George W. Bush fear was a way to rally the base.

After Barack Obama was elected, the fear that Bush had stoked for years became an inferno. Glenn Beck and others in the right wing media have made a fortune by catering to and feeding the fears of the right. The conservative billionaires build on Bush’s foundation of fear and harvested a whole Astroturf movement based on fear of Obama.

Fear has pushed Republicans to create an alternate reality president, Barack X. Political and media empires have been built on the right based on keeping the rank and file scared. Fear is the cottage industry of the conservative movement.

There are some members of the far left who have embraced the right’s politics of fear and use it for their own profit and gain to attack Obama. (Why should conservatives be the only ones who cash in on fear?)

As a general rule the vast majority of the left base their criticisms of Democrats and Republicans on facts, but those paranoid terrified types who now run the Republican Party exist on the left too.

The Republicans aren’t running against the Obama that most Americans know. They are campaigning against a figment of their own imaginations.

Because their primary voters can’t handle reality, the candidates for the GOP nomination have to buy into their lies, myths, and paranoid distortions about President Obama. Mitt Romney is making himself unelectable and Newt Gingrich is in the polls by pandering to the terrified delusions of the right.

Fear has driven the Republican Party to campaign against Barack X, and this same fear may end up sowing the seeds of their defeat in 2012.

Saul David Alinsky (January 30, 1909 – June 12, 1972) was an American community organizer and writer. He is generally considered to be the founder of modern community organizing, and has been compared to Thomas Paine as being “one of the great American leaders of the nonsocialist left.” He is often noted for his book Rules for Radicals.

In the course of nearly four decades of political organizing, Alinsky received much criticism, but also gained praise from many public figures. His organizing skills were focused on improving the living conditions of poor communities across North America. In the 1950s, he began turning his attention to improving conditions of the African American ghettos, beginning with Chicago’s and later traveling to other ghettos in California, Michigan, New York City, and a dozen other “trouble spots”.

His ideas were later adapted by some U.S. college students and other young organizers in the late 1960s and formed part of their strategies for organizing on campus and beyond. Time magazine once wrote that “American democracy is being altered by Alinsky’s ideas,” and conservative author William F. Buckley said he was “very close to being an organizational genius.”

My reply to all you Republican, Conservative, GOP whatever you want to call the other side:

Obama did more for “us.” in 3 then Bush did in 8. If you can’t see that Big Corporations are running the GOP you people are just brainwashed from Fox News. See, I really don’t understand it. You follow white haired conservatives who want’s the poor and homeless dead. Who wants to hunt illegal citizens like animals. Most of you would not be here in our beautiful country had it not opened its heart for you or your forefathers. I’m 2nd generation USA born to Italian immigrants. Now you want to close the door because the way it is right now doesn’t appease you. President Obama is working on that. Maybe not the way that Governor Brewer wants to. That was so disrespectful. But then again so is Fox News. What am I saying, all the Republicans are disrespectful. You don’t even call Obama, President. I’ve heard a few like, monkey. That’s disgusting. What year is this? 1900?

Don’t you women want equal rights as men? President Obama just today signed it into law. Women don’t you want the right to your own bodies? I know us men would never give up our penis right. How about your public hanging for abortionist? I can go on and on and on.

Sooner or later you’ll see that Democrat or Republican is just a name. We are all for human rights throughout the world, conservation and nature, for world peace with no more armies. Capitalism, we’re saying “go out and make a fortune” in fact we’ll help you. But you must at least pay your share if not more. We helped you with grants, loans, roads, schools, on and on. You want to practice your religion fine but you have to pay your share too. Religion is just a business like any other. Have your God, I have mine but don’t push it on everyone. That’s not a democracy. God does not belong in public. He is personal to you. Do you think God would kill illegal’s, the poor and homeless? Come on, get real here. Have you ever dealt with the homeless? You think God wants homeless people? Most are very mentally ill. They use alcohol and drugs for self-treatment. I’m sorry but the Republican, Conservative, GOP whatever you want to call the other side is inhuman.

Copy, paste it all over facebook. Pass it on and on and on.

I disagree. Although our current President is not perfect, he is far better than any Republican. If I must be robbed, as both parties seem to do. I prefer a liberal, who will try and let me eat, have clean water and air. The modern conservative would insure the poor have nothing to eat no air to breath and poison our water in the name of their capitalist gods . You do not have a solution, just an angry person. At least the direction of OWS anger is right. And now we know what the tea partakers are all about, they hate American.
