11 Reasons Why Occupy Wall Street Protesters Are Hypocrites If They Do Not Call For Barack Obama To Resign

If the Occupy Wall Street protesters truly believed in the things that they are proclaiming, then they would be calling for the immediate resignation of Barack Obama and his entire cabinet.  The truth is that the Obama administration is responsible for most of the things that Occupy Wall Street is supposedly complaining about.  If the Occupy Wall Street protesters were intellectually honest, we would see a flood of anti-Obama signs during these demonstrations.  But instead we have barely heard a peep of criticism for Obama.  In fact, the vast majority of the protesters seem very excited about sending Obama back to the White House in 2012.  As will be clearly demonstrated in the rest of this article, this makes the Occupy Wall Street protesters tremendous hypocrites.  If Occupy Wall Street wants to have any credibility whatsoever, it needs to call for Barack Obama to resign.  Either Occupy Wall Street protesters will call for Barack Obama to be held accountable for his actions, or they are just a bunch of sheep.  They cannot preach to us about how principled they are and yet turn a blind eye to everything that Barack Obama has been doing for the past 3 years.

Below I am going to analyze many of the demands that Occupy Wall Street protesters have been making.  A lot of them have been directly taken from the formal list of complaints posted on the "official" organizing website of Occupy Wall Street.

As you will see, there are a whole lot of reasons why there "protesters" should be very angry with Barack Obama.

But we all know that nearly all of them will show up to vote for Obama once again in 2012.

Just like so many "true conservatives" apologized for George W. Bush for all those years, now we are seeing those on the left apologize for Barack Obama.

It is truly sickening.

Posted below are 11 reasons why Occupy Wall Street protesters are hypocrites if they do not call for Barack Obama to resign immediately....

#1 Occupy Wall Street says that they are angry that the big Wall Street banks "have taken bailouts from taxpayers with impunity, and continue to give executives exorbitant bonuses."

Well, if Barack Obama and John McCain had not aggressively pushed for the Wall Street bailouts back in 2008, they never would have happened.  After Obama took office, he rammed through even more bailouts.  The reality is that you could easily call Barack Obama "the king of the Wall Street bailouts".

#2 Occupy Wall Street says that they are angry that the big Wall Street banks "have donated large sums of money to politicians, who are responsible for regulating them."

Yet they ignore the fact that 3 of the top 7 donors to Obama's campaign in 2008 were the very Wall Street banks that the Occupy Wall Street movement is protesting.

Once again, Barack Obama will be taking in huge amounts of money from the wealthy and from big Wall Street banks for his run in 2012.

So why aren't they complaining about that?

#3 One of the big themes of the Occupy Wall Street protests is the fact that Wall Street has way too much influence and power over the federal government.

Well, the Obama administration is absolutely packed with ex-executives of giant corporations and big Wall Street banks. Earlier this year, Michael Brenner wrote the following about the current composition of the Obama administration....

Wall Street's takeover of the Obama administration is now complete. The mega-banks and their corporate allies control every economic policy position of consequence. Mr. Obama has moved rapidly since the November debacle to install business people where it counts most. Mr.William Daley from JP Morgan Chase as White House Chief of Staff. Mr. Gene Sperling from the Goldman Sachs payroll to be director of the National Economic Council. Eileen Rominger from Goldman Sachs named director of the SEC's Investment Management division. Even the National Security Advisor, Thomas Donilon, was executive vice president for law and policy at the disgraced Fannie Mae after serving as a corporate lobbyist with O'Melveny & Roberts. The keystone of the business friendly team was put in place on Friday. General Electric Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Immelt will serve as chair of the president's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness.

#4 Occupy Wall Street says that it is deeply concerned about the rampant corruption in our financial system.

The Federal Reserve is the very heart and soul of our financial system, and yet there has been very little real criticism of the Fed by Occupy Wall Street protesters.

If Occupy Wall Street truly wanted to do something about our financial system they would be calling for the Federal Reserve to be shut down.

But their hero, Barack Obama, actually nominated Ben Bernanke for a second term as Federal Reserve Chairman and Obama continues to support him 100 percent even after a horrible track record of failures that is legendary.

#5 Occupy Wall Street says that it is angry that big corporations "have consistently outsourced labor and used that outsourcing as leverage to cut workers’ healthcare and pay."

This issue alone should be enough for Occupy Wall Street to call for Barack Obama to resign.

The Obama administration has pushed very hard for new "free trade" agreements with Panama, South Korea and Colombia and the Obama administration is currently making the Trans-Pacific Partnership ("the NAFTA of the Pacific") a very high priority.

The Obama administration has been very aggressively trying to expand the "free trade" policies that are costing us millions of jobs.

In fact, members of the Obama administration run around and openly talk about how there are things that "we don't want to make in America".

For example, the following is what U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk recently told Tim Robertson of the Huffington Post about the Obama administration's attitude toward keeping manufacturing jobs in America....

Let's increase our competitiveness... the reality is about half of our imports, our trade deficit is because of how much oil [we import], so you take that out of the equation, you look at what percentage of it are things that frankly, we don't want to make in America, you know, cheaper products, low-skill jobs that frankly college kids that are graduating from, you know, UC Cal and Hastings [don't want], but what we do want is to capture those next generation jobs and build on our investments in our young people, our education infrastructure.

Unions should be screaming bloody murder about this.

But instead they are going to line up behind Barack Obama once again in 2012 like good little sheeple.

#6 Occupy Wall Street says that the big health insurance companies "have spent millions of dollars on legal teams that look for ways to get them out of contracts in regards to health insurance."

Well, as I have written about previously, the health insurance companies helped to write huge portions of Obamacare.  Instead of reducing the power of health insurance companies, Obamacare actually gives them more power and will actually increase their profits.  The sad truth is that large portions of Obamacare are virtually identical to a bill that was written by the health insurance trade association in 2009.  Under Obamacare, our health care costs will go up even faster and the quality of our health care will continue to go down.

#7 Occupy Wall Street says that they are angry because the big banks "have taken our houses through an illegal foreclosure process, despite not having the original mortgage."

Occupy Wall Street is correct about this.

So where has Barack Obama been on this issue?  The reality is that the Obama administration has done very little about the horrific foreclosure abuses that have been going on.

#8 Occupy Wall Street is upset that "our privacy" has been sold "as a commodity."

Well, why aren't Occupy Wall Street protesters calling out Barack Obama for his horrific track record on civil liberties.

The national security apparatus that George W. Bush set up has been greatly expanded by Barack Obama.

It was the Obama administration that decided that it was necessary for TSA thugs to feel our private parts before we board our flights and it was the Obama administration that decided that TSA "VIPR teams" should run around the country conducting approximately 8,000 "unannounced security screenings" a year at subway stations, bus terminals, ports and highway rest stops.

So where is the outrage?

The truth is that under the Obama administration the United States is becoming more like a totalitarian police state every single day.

Once again, this issue alone should be enough for Occupy Wall Street to demand that Barack Obama should resign.

For much more on how America is turning into a "Big Brother" police state under Obama, please see these articles....

*32 Signs That The Entire World Is Being Transformed Into A Futuristic Big Brother Prison Grid

#9 Occupy Wall Street is angry that the United States has "perpetuated colonialism at home and abroad."

Oh really?

Under Barack Obama, the U.S. military has been used as the "police of the world" even more than it was under George W. Bush.

Under Obama, the war in Afghanistan was greatly expanded and the U.S. military began bombing the living daylights out of Libya.  In addition, under Obama the U.S. military has been conducting air strikes in Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia.

Today, there is a U.S. military base in over half of the countries on the planet and U.S. military spending is more than 7 times larger than the military spending of any other nation on earth.

So if "the left" was angry at George W. Bush for what he did, then why aren't they filled with rage at Barack Obama for his policies?

#10 Occupy Wall Street is angry that the U.S. has "participated in the torture and murder of innocent civilians overseas."

Well, Barack Obama did not shut down Guantanamo Bay as he promised to do.

So where is the accountability?

Under George W. Bush, millions of "evangelical Christians" were cheering for torture.

Today, millions of "liberals" are cheering while the Obama administration conducts "enhanced interrogations" of prisoners and performs "extraordinary renditions" in foreign countries.

If liberals want to complain about "torture and murder of innocent civilians overseas", it isn't the Republicans they should be angry at.

Barack Obama is running our foreign policy, and he should be held accountable for what is going on.

#11 Occupy Wall Street is angry because the wealthy are not paying their "fair share" of taxes.

Well, it is undeniable that many big corporations (such as Obama's good friends over at GE) quite often get away with paying no taxes at all.

But Barack Obama and the Democrats controlled the White House and all of Congress for two whole years.

So why didn't they "fix" the tax code while they had the chance?

Could it be that they actually like the current system?

The truth is that our current tax system is so flawed, so complex and so full of holes that it needs to be thrown out entirely.

Many big corporations get away with bloody murder under the current tax system, yet nearly all establishment Democrats and nearly all establishment Republicans want to keep the current system of taxation.

In a previous article, I noted some of the big corporations that make a ton of money and yet have paid less than zero in taxes in recent years....

What U.S. corporations are able to get away with is absolutely amazing.

The following figures come directly out of a report by Citizens for Tax Justice.  These are combined figures for the tax years 2008, 2009 and 2010.

During those three years, all of the corporations below made a lot of money.  Yet all of them paid net taxes that were below zero for those three years combined.

How is that possible?  Well, it turns out that instead of paying in taxes to the federal government, they were actually getting money back.

So for these corporations, their rate of taxation was actually below zero.

If you have not seen these before, you are going to have a hard time believing some of these statistics.....

*Honeywell*

Profits: $4.9 billion

Taxes: -$34 million

*Fed Ex*

Profits: $3 billion

Taxes: -$23 million

*Wells Fargo*

Profits: $49.37 billion

Taxes: -$681 million

*Boeing*

Profits: $9.7 billion

Taxes: -$178 million

*Verizon*

Profits: $32.5 billion

Taxes: -$951 million

*Dupont*

Profits: $2.1 billion

Taxes -$72 million

*American Electric Power*

Profits: $5.89 billion

Taxes -$545 million

*General Electric*

Profits: $7.7 billion

Taxes: -$4.7 billion

Are you starting to get the picture?

The amazing thing is that GE can get away with all this and still ship thousands upon thousands of good American jobs out of the country.

There is no way that our current tax code can be fixed with a few "tweaks" here and there.  Our current tax code is an abomination that should be immediately repealed and flushed down the toilet.

But the Democrats and most Republicans seem to want to keep it around.  They like to play their little social engineering games with the tax code, and the current tax code enables their wealthy donors to do quite nicely.

Occupy Wall Street is right to argue that our tax code is fundamentally unjust, and the number one person that they need to point the finger at is Barack Obama.

So can any "liberal" out there actually defend Barack Obama after reading all of this?

Can anyone out there put forth an intellectual argument for why Occupy Wall Street protesters should be supporting Obama?

The truth is that most of the Occupy Wall Street protesters are intellectual hypocrites.

Most of them are so scared that a Republican might win in 2012 that they won't say anything bad about Obama.

It is the same trap that many Republicans fell into with George W. Bush.

Look, George W. Bush was a nightmare for this country.

Barack Obama is even worse.

If we are not going to be intellectually honest with ourselves, then we might as well tattoo the word "sheeple" on to our foreheads.

If Occupy Wall Street really believes the stuff that they are saying, then they need to call for Barack Obama to resign.

Does anyone disagree?

Actually Republicans have been at the helm of the deregulation’s of the banks and corporate power over our government for the last 50 years so if anybody deserves the focus it’s them, and that’s why you’ve seen them come out against this movement so forcefully and to try derive irrelevancy for it,at first. Now that this has achieved world support they are trying to take the focus off them and point it at the White House and the democrats while it is unfocused as to who is the creators of this government corruption and why. Republicans don’t pass legislation to help middle class Americans. Only the rich and corporate profits benefit from their legislation’s, interesting don’t you think? And now you know why this blog and false argument against Obama, the only guy standing in the way of easy transfer of power to private corporate industry.

You persist in using the labels ‘republican’ and ‘democrat’.
How long will it be until you realise that both parties are the same people and they’re all working against you?

  • Golden

You all sound crazy and under-informed. Check the facts, President Obama is not perfect and no other will be. His job is not to create laws and policies, that is supposed to be what your congress does. Blame them if you don’t like what’s going on. (President) Obama (for you disrespectful people) is supposed to implement and enforce laws. Unfortunately he hasn’t been given anything to work with. If you stop looking at FOX, CNN, or any other MSM Network for information, you might have a little bit more appreciation. Look at real statistics, compare them to the hell we’ve come from. President Obama did intend to do more than he has done, however, the problem was worse than he knew. As Candidate Obama he was only given a partial glimpse into the deep whole that your former President dug us into. And, look at the numbers, we are climbing out in several places, but everything takes time. He told you that when he was hired. Really, you think Mitt Romney or Ron Paul will fix this. Go ahead and try and watch what little middle class we have left go bye-bye. Foolish and Flighty Americans is what we are. Get over yourselves and look at yourselves (Who have you allowed to be elected to congress?)It’s Congress. They are the problem, I wouldn’t care who the President was or is.

Of course Obama takes campaign money from wall street contributors ya jackass, they all do. Thats the only way you can get enough financial backing these days to compete with any of the other candidates running for office. Not saying he necessarily would refuse it given the chance for some other means of campaigning funds. My point is, Obama is the lesser of the evils. The other candidates that have a chance of becoming the next president don’t remotely compare.

I love how republicans point fingers at Obama for doing things that they’ve been doing for years. Only difference is Obama has done a lot more to help us then Bush ever did. A few things didn’t go through, but what would you expect when Republicans turn start stomping their feet whining because it’s Democrats want to change the rules to TRY and get things turned around for everyone. Republicans and the 1% heard this, started plugging their ears saying, “If we can’t have it OUR way then NOBODY GETS TO PLAY! WE’RE NOT LISTENING!”, refusing to let anything democrats put forward. Obama can’t be blamed for the country as it turned out to be. Bush handed over the reins that the people voted Obama to have to try and steer us in a better direction. Bush smiling the whole way through because he knew…he knew that the country was run down by him and his administration just as it planned to do. What better way to make the democrats look incompetent, then to run the prized stallion into the ground until it seemed it could never recover and point fingers at them all and say, “SEE! SEE! WE didn’t let this happen! THEY did! It was a little bad when WE were in charge, but THEY couldn’t fix it all in one go!.” They attacked Obama from everything to his birth place, his heritage, his ethnicity, anything to take the peoples’ eyes off from how the previous administration tore this country down faster than even THEY could have predicted.

Also, Fox News and other right-wing owned news stations calls everything he put forward “socialism” or “communism”. Why? Mainly because the people watching those stations are usually religious and listen to any drivel they spit out. If there’s one thing we’ve learned in history is that religious people tend to listen to the most absurd things and believe it as long as the speaker says they believe in the same god(FANATICALLY). They continue to play the religious card by saying with their policy that is even similar to “If you love Jesus, then you have to listen and believe [Enter political group here]. Both parties use it, but republicans use the religious card without hesitation because they know the gullible are just waiting to find out who “jesus” would vote for instead of finding out what’s really going on.

I believe the fact that religion has had far too much to do with our political system would devastate the founding fathers. It has and is mostly used as a distraction of the people, so they don’t realize they’re fight against their own interests. When they vote republican, who “believe in jesus”, they’re really voting for their lives to remain miserable.

…ok that’s my 2 cents. Have a good day people.

  • “Declaration of the Occupation of New York City”

As we gather together in solidarity to express a feeling of mass injustice, we must not lose sight of what brought us together. We write so that all people who feel wronged by the corporate forces of the world can know that we are your allies.

As one people, united, we acknowledge the reality: that the future of the human race requires the cooperation of its members; that our system must protect our rights, and upon corruption of that system, it is up to the individuals to protect their own rights, and those of their neighbors; that a democratic government derives its just power from the people, but corporations do not seek consent to extract wealth from the people and the Earth; and that no true democracy is attainable when the process is determined by economic power. We come to you at a time when corporations, which place profit over people, self-interest over justice, and oppression over equality, run our governments. We have peaceably assembled here, as is our right, to let these facts be known.

They have taken our houses through an illegal foreclosure process, despite not having the original mortgage.

They have taken bailouts from taxpayers with impunity, and continue to give Executives exorbitant bonuses.

They have perpetuated inequality and discrimination in the workplace based on age, the color of one’s skin, sex, gender identity and sexual orientation.

They have poisoned the food supply through negligence, and undermined the farming system through monopolization.

They have profited off of the torture, confinement, and cruel treatment of countless animals, and actively hide these practices.

They have continuously sought to strip employees of the right to negotiate for better pay and safer working conditions.

They have held students hostage with tens of thousands of dollars of debt on education, which is itself a human right.

They have consistently outsourced labor and used that outsourcing as leverage to cut workers’ healthcare and pay.

They have influenced the courts to achieve the same rights as people, with none of the culpability or responsibility.

They have spent millions of dollars on legal teams that look for ways to get them out of contracts in regards to health insurance.

They have sold our privacy as a commodity.

They have used the military and police force to prevent freedom of the press.

They have deliberately declined to recall faulty products endangering lives in pursuit of profit.

They determine economic policy, despite the catastrophic failures their policies have produced and continue to produce.

They have donated large sums of money to politicians, who are responsible for regulating them.

They continue to block alternate forms of energy to keep us dependent on oil.

They continue to block generic forms of medicine that could save people’s lives or provide relief in order to protect investments that have already turned a substantial profit.

They have purposely covered up oil spills, accidents, faulty bookkeeping, and inactive ingredients in pursuit of profit.

They purposefully keep people misinformed and fearful through their control of the media.

They have accepted private contracts to murder prisoners even when presented with serious doubts about their guilt.

They have perpetuated colonialism at home and abroad.

They have participated in the torture and murder of innocent civilians overseas.

They continue to create weapons of mass destruction in order to receive government contracts.

To the people of the world,

We, the New York City General Assembly occupying Wall Street in Liberty Square, urge you to assert your power.

Exercise your right to peaceably assemble; occupy public space; create a process to address the problems we face, and generate solutions accessible to everyone.

To all communities that take action and form groups in the spirit of direct democracy, we offer support, documentation, and all of the resources at our disposal.

  • “Republicans Fear President Obama”

Republicans have created this completely fictional president. His name is Barack X and he’s an Islamo-socialist revolutionary who’s coming for your guns, raising your taxes, slashing the military, apologizing to other countries, and taking his cues from Europe or worse yet, Saul Alinsky. And this is how politics has changed; you used to have to run against an actual candidate, but now you just recreate him inside the bubble and run against your new fictional candidate.

That’s how Bush won in 2004, by running against John Kerry, a French war criminal. And speaking of Bush, I know conservatives are saying, come on Democrats did the same thing to him. No. Say what you will about the left’s hatred of Bush, at least we were hating on the real guy. We didn’t invent a boogeyman who tanked the economy, took us to war on false pretenses, and tortured prisoners. That was the actual guy.

But run down the list of complaints about fantasy Obama. He wants to raise your taxes, even though he’s lowered them. Confiscate your guns, even though he’s never mentioned it, and read terrorists their rights, yeah, like he did Tuesday in Somalia. And look what Gingrich said about him this month. Yes, Obama is anti-work. You remember the bill he championed, The Grab A Corona And Call In Sick Act.

You see, the difference is the Republicans hatred of Obama is based on a paranoid feeling about what he might do. What’s he’s thinking. What he secretly wants to change. Anger with Bush was based on what he actually did. What Bush was thinking didn’t matter, because he wasn’t.

The right is terrified of Barack Obama. Fear is the heartbeat of conservative ideology. Conservatives aren’t bullies. They are cowards.

Beneath the loud bluster of a conservative is some who is ready to wet their pants.

The central tenant of American conservatism is fear of the unknown. This is why conservatives are always striving to return to the past. The future is bad because it will bring about change, and change equals fear.

After 9/11 George W. Bush and Dick Cheney’s responses gave Republicans the green light to give in and let their fears run wild. What did Bush and Cheney do after 9/11? They went into hiding. In future years, Bush and Cheney would govern by spreading fear. They used fear as tool to gain and keep power. (This is why among numerous other things, Iraq was a “threat” and the color coded terror alert level was constantly tinkered with). Under George W. Bush fear was a way to rally the base.

After Barack Obama was elected, the fear that Bush had stoked for years became an inferno. Glenn Beck and others in the right wing media have made a fortune by catering to and feeding the fears of the right. The conservative billionaires build on Bush’s foundation of fear and harvested a whole Astroturf movement based on fear of Obama.

Fear has pushed Republicans to create an alternate reality president, Barack X. Political and media empires have been built on the right based on keeping the rank and file scared. Fear is the cottage industry of the conservative movement.

There are some members of the far left who have embraced the right’s politics of fear and use it for their own profit and gain to attack Obama. (Why should conservatives be the only ones who cash in on fear?)

As a general rule the vast majority of the left base their criticisms of Democrats and Republicans on facts, but those paranoid terrified types who now run the Republican Party exist on the left too.

The Republicans aren’t running against the Obama that most Americans know. They are campaigning against a figment of their own imaginations.

Because their primary voters can’t handle reality, the candidates for the GOP nomination have to buy into their lies, myths, and paranoid distortions about President Obama. Mitt Romney is making himself unelectable and Newt Gingrich is in the polls by pandering to the terrified delusions of the right.

Fear has driven the Republican Party to campaign against Barack X, and this same fear may end up sowing the seeds of their defeat in 2012.

Saul David Alinsky (January 30, 1909 – June 12, 1972) was an American community organizer and writer. He is generally considered to be the founder of modern community organizing, and has been compared to Thomas Paine as being “one of the great American leaders of the nonsocialist left.” He is often noted for his book Rules for Radicals.

In the course of nearly four decades of political organizing, Alinsky received much criticism, but also gained praise from many public figures. His organizing skills were focused on improving the living conditions of poor communities across North America. In the 1950s, he began turning his attention to improving conditions of the African American ghettos, beginning with Chicago’s and later traveling to other ghettos in California, Michigan, New York City, and a dozen other “trouble spots”.

His ideas were later adapted by some U.S. college students and other young organizers in the late 1960s and formed part of their strategies for organizing on campus and beyond. Time magazine once wrote that “American democracy is being altered by Alinsky’s ideas,” and conservative author William F. Buckley said he was “very close to being an organizational genius.”

My reply to all you Republican, Conservative, GOP whatever you want to call the other side:

Obama did more for “us.” in 3 then Bush did in 8. If you can’t see that Big Corporations are running the GOP you people are just brainwashed from Fox News. See, I really don’t understand it. You follow white haired conservatives who want’s the poor and homeless dead. Who wants to hunt illegal citizens like animals. Most of you would not be here in our beautiful country had it not opened its heart for you or your forefathers. I’m 2nd generation USA born to Italian immigrants. Now you want to close the door because the way it is right now doesn’t appease you. President Obama is working on that. Maybe not the way that Governor Brewer wants to. That was so disrespectful. But then again so is Fox News. What am I saying, all the Republicans are disrespectful. You don’t even call Obama, President. I’ve heard a few like, monkey. That’s disgusting. What year is this? 1900?

Don’t you women want equal rights as men? President Obama just today signed it into law. Women don’t you want the right to your own bodies? I know us men would never give up our penis right. How about your public hanging for abortionist? I can go on and on and on.

Sooner or later you’ll see that Democrat or Republican is just a name. We are all for human rights throughout the world, conservation and nature, for world peace with no more armies. Capitalism, we’re saying “go out and make a fortune” in fact we’ll help you. But you must at least pay your share if not more. We helped you with grants, loans, roads, schools, on and on. You want to practice your religion fine but you have to pay your share too. Religion is just a business like any other. Have your God, I have mine but don’t push it on everyone. That’s not a democracy. God does not belong in public. He is personal to you. Do you think God would kill illegal’s, the poor and homeless? Come on, get real here. Have you ever dealt with the homeless? You think God wants homeless people? Most are very mentally ill. They use alcohol and drugs for self-treatment. I’m sorry but the Republican, Conservative, GOP whatever you want to call the other side is inhuman.

Copy, paste it all over facebook. Pass it on and on and on.
