10 Obamacare Horror Stories That Are Almost Too Crazy To Believe

No ObamacareThe more Americans learn about Obamacare, the less they like it.  They were promised that under Obamacare they would be able to keep their current health insurance plans, that health insurance premiums would be lower, and that millions more Americans would be able to get coverage.  But none of those promises are turning out to be true.  Right now, millions of Americans are receiving cancellation notices from their health insurance companies – including many Americans that are in a life or death battle with cancer.  By the end of next year, it is being projected that up to 100 million more Americans could have their health insurance policies canceled.  Meanwhile, large numbers of Americans are discovering that their “new plans” are going to cost them two, three, four or even five times as much as their old plans cost them.  You are about to see some shocking examples of this.  And now that the reality of Obamacare is really starting to sink in for the American people, the popularity of the law is starting to drop like a rock.  According to a brand new CBS News poll that was just released, only 31 percent of all Americans still approve of Obamacare while an astounding 61 percent of all Americans now disapprove of it.  Perhaps if we get that number to 70 or 80 percent, the politicians in Washington D.C. will cave in and we can get this law repealed.  So please share this article with as many people as you possibly can.  The following are 10 Obamacare horror stories that are almost too crazy to believe…

Edie Littlefield Sundby: “My grievance is not political; all my energies are directed to enjoying life and staying alive, and I have no time for politics. For almost seven years I have fought and survived stage-4 gallbladder cancer, with a five-year survival rate of less than 2% after diagnosis. I am a determined fighter and extremely lucky. But this luck may have just run out: My affordable, lifesaving medical insurance policy has been canceled effective Dec. 31.

My choice is to get coverage through the government health exchange and lose access to my cancer doctors, or pay much more for insurance outside the exchange (the quotes average 40% to 50% more) for the privilege of starting over with an unfamiliar insurance company and impaired benefits.”

Patricia in North Carolina:”I am a 62 year old woman who has an individual policy with BCBS of North Carolina.  My premiums are $249.50 per month.  I bought the policy when I retired and moved to NC to be closer to my aging parents.  The policy is a high deductible one with a $2700 deductible, $5000 out of pocket maximum.  BCBS has told me my plan is no longer offered due to Obamacare and that my new plan will cost $600.55 per month and has a required an out of pocket maximum of $6350.”

Jacqueline Proctor: Take, for example, Jacqueline Proctor of San Francisco. She and her husband are in their early 60s. They have been paying $7,200 a year for a bare-bones Kaiser Permanente health plan with a $5,000 per person annual deductible. “Kaiser told us the plan does not comply with Obamacare and the substitute will cost more than twice as much,” about $15,000 per year, she says.

This new plan, Kaiser’s cheapest offering for 2014, would consume about 25 percent of their after-tax income. The new plan still has a $5,000 deductible but provides coverage for things her current policy does not, such as maternity care, healthy child visits and coverage for dependents up to age 26. Proctor has no use for such coverage, since her son is 30.

Gloria Cantor: Gloria Cantor of Florida has cancer — five brain tumors and tumors in her bones — but she won’t have the health insurance she has relied on for her treatment for much longer.

Mrs. Cantor and her husband, Jay, told WFTV in Orlando that their insurance is being dropped in order to comply with Obamacare regulations.

“The Cantors received [a] letter in the mail [that] explains Gloria’s health insurance will end next summer due to the Affordable Care Act,” reporter Lori Brown says. “But after promises by President Obama … the Cantors now feel betrayed. After the insurance company drops them, it will offer them a different plan that it admits will be more expensive. The Cantors are especially worried because their doctors cannot assure them that [the MD Anderson Cancer Center] will still accept the new plan.”

A Zero Hedge Reader: My company, based in California, employs 600. We used to insure about 250 of our employees. The rest opted out. The company paid 50% of their premiums for about $750,000/yr.

Under obamacare, none can opt out without penalty, and the rates are double or triple, depending upon the plan. Our 750k for 250 employees is going to $2 million per year for 600 employees.

By mandate, we have to pay 91.5% of the premium or more up from the 50% we used to pay.

Our employees share of the premium goes from $7/week for the cheapest plan to $30/week. 95% of my employees were on that plan.  Remember, we used to pay 50% now we pay 91.5% and the premiums still go up that much!!

The  cheapest plan now has a deductible of $6350! Before it was $150. Employees making $9 to $10/hr, have to pay $30/wk and have a $6350 deductible!!! What!!!!

They can’t afford that to be sure. Obamacare will kill their propensity to seek medical care. More money for less care? How does that help them?

Ashley Dionne: I graduated from The University of Michigan in 2009. In my state, this used to mean something, but even with a bachelor’s I was told I was too educated and wouldn’t stay. I watched as kids with GEDs and high school diploma’s took the low-paying jobs for which I applied.

I went back to school and got a second degree and finally found work at a gym. I work nights and only get 32 hours a week for eight dollars an hour. I’m unable to find a second job at this time.

I have asthma, ulcers, and mild cerebral palsy. Obamacare takes my monthly rate from $75 a month for full coverage on my “Young Adult Plan,” to $319 a month. After $6,000 in deductibles, of course.

Liberals claimed this law would help the poor. I am the poor, the working poor, and I can’t afford to support myself, let alone older generations and people not willing to work at all.

This law has raped my future.

It will keep me and kids my age from having a future at all.

This is the real face of Obamacare and it isn’t pretty.

George Schwab: George Schwab, 62, of North Carolina, said he was “perfectly happy” with his plan from Blue Cross Blue Shield, which also insured his wife for a $228 monthly premium. But this past September, he was surprised to receive a letter saying his policy was no longer available. The “comparable” plan the insurance company offered him carried a $1,208 monthly premium and a $5,500 deductible.

A Middle Class Texas Family: Obamacare is named the “Affordable Care Act,” after all, and the President promised the rates would be “as low as a phone bill.” But I just received a confirmed letter from a friend in Texas showing a 539% rate increase on an existing policy that’s been in good standing for years.

As the letter reveals (see below), the cost for this couple’s policy under Humana is increasing from $212.10 per month to $1,356.60 per month. This is for a couple in good health whose combined income is less than $70K — a middle-class family, in other words.

Michael Cerpok: “I’ve worked hard because I’ve had to, and I’ve had to, because cancer runs in my family,” says Cerpok, who picked his current health insurance based on that family history. His monthly premium is just about half of his monthly take-home pay.

Back in 2006, he found out he had an incurable form of leukemia that requires ongoing treatment until he dies.

In 2012, his treatment bill was more than $350,000. But because of his insurance, his out-of-pocket was only $4,500.

That’s about to change because Michael just got a letter from his insurance carrier saying as of January 1, he would be dropped from coverage because of new regulations under Obamacare.

Bill Elliot: Fox News host Megyn Kelly shared a heart rendering story Thursday night of a South Carolina man with cancer who is being forced to make what he sees as a life or death decision after his health insurance plan was cancelled because of Obamacare.

Bill Elliot, who voted for President Obama, contacted “The Kelly File” via Facebook and said he can no longer afford to pay his medical bills and does not want to take on the new costs because he does not want to put a “burden” on his family, according to Fox News.

Saying he feels “misled,” Elliott told Kelly his new insurance will cost him $1,500 per month with a $13,000 deductible, adding that he will opt to pay the minimal fine for not having health insurance and “will just let nature take its course.”

Thanks Michael. Just saw your video on Gregg Hunter’s USA Watchdog. I’m hoping Gregg will have you back with more updates. Now, I did notice that maybe you have been working too hard or maybe it was just the lighting, but I did see dark circles under your eyes. Keep up the good work. Thanks again!

    • MichaelfromTheEconomicCollapse

I do work incredibly hard, but I have always hard dark circles under my eyes since I was a child.

      Perhaps more rest would help.

  • Sandbagger

This is purely an Agenda 21 law. The objective is to eliminate “useless eaters”; starting with the sick and old. Then those who are handicapped. Finally those who oppose the “New World Order”.

If our sorry-ass countrymen cannot demand Obama’s true birth certificate, and get it, what makes them think they can stop this??

    S.O.S. S.O.S. S.O.S. S.O.S. S.O.S. S.O.S S.O.S S.O.S.

    • jim

I trully belive that you’re right. This is just on step, one giant step for the globalist that they need for there depopulation. What better way to murder so many innocent american people then to create a new law like president osama’s new healthcare law and make it so expensive so that people that are sick and dying can die of much faster and the other people that are not dying but are forced to buy osama’s healthcare insurance will end up going broke and lose there jobs, but ofcourse president osama will take his family this holiday some where in the world were it will cost millions of dollar’s on tax payers money that wr don’t have. And back home there will be millions of people that will still suffer for this holiday season, thanks president osama.

  • K

Thankfully I do not have to deal with Obamacare. However if I did, it would cost me 1/3 of what I make every month. No way, no how.

    • 2¢Wurth

Believe me, no matter how far separated you are from the medical fray you will be sucked in. I don’t care if you live in a mountain cave, your life will be affected by this travesty. Life as you know it will change if 20% of the economy is sucked down the drain like a third trimester abortion. Graphic enough for you?

      • Clewin

Sorry, but we already were sucked in long ago by uninsured and under-insured people that can’t pay their bills and those bills getting footed by the state (or more succinctly, through insured taxpayers like me). This is unfunded obligation, that was unfunded obligation. This is one of those cases where the solution and the problem are both godawful.

  • Chris

The entire Obumacare is pure slavery. Its a Runaway train on a track heading into a wall. If Obama makes it to 2016, he will be go down as the worst President.

    • Robert

It makes me smile to see folks who voted for Obama get screwed by Obamacare. It’s like they were standing on the tracks with the train coming right at them and they believed Obama when he told them the train wouldn’t hit them. The problem with the United States is that people are just not to smart.

      • Anthony Alexander

The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama or His Health Care ideas. It clearly demonstrates that the problems we are experiencing now is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince.

    • 2¢Wurth

No, history will be re-written. Textbooks in the Common Core Curriculum will recount these times as among man’s greatest accomplishments on earth. Ever read a Soviet textbook from around 1950? Was Stalin a god, after killing tens of millions of his own citizens? Yes he was. My Father-in-law worshipped him until the day he died, even after listening to me for ten years. Was it any different for the faithful behind any other despotic narcissistic paranoiac? If we live through it, we will be amazed when those chapters are written.

      • Jack

Truer words haven’t been spoken, my friend. Obama will be praised and worshiped exactly as Stalin and Kim Jong-il were by their respective peoples.

The Obama brainwashing isn’t going to happen in our children’s and grandchildren’s futures when they’re in public school, it’s happening right now.

This is a guy that was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, yet has ordered drone strikes that have killed thousands. This is the man that will have more than doubled the US Debt before his time in office is over. This is the person that has told one lie after another, from pulling troops out of the Middle East, to Benghazi, to raising the debt limit, and now it’s “If you like your health insurance, you can keep your health insurance. All the while CBS, ABC, MSNBC, and CNN all praise him as if he could do no wrong.

Period” Instead of “period” he meant to say “asterisk”.

  • I’m from a third world country, never had insurance in my life ever….I’m 36 and I’m doing just fine…you want proof….I’m in endoftheamericandream site reading intellectual articles than on TMZ or reading Kim Kardhashian butt news or what Obama says…which is what gets bombarded to people outside America…so i got to have something inside me…which found truthful articles about America and not lies from MSM….

Do not give your power away to Insurance vampires…You self heal….Its just the mind set….We are conditioned to believe we need outside help….Everything is based on FEAR….Our disease, our life problems all…Our thoughts, morals are designed by the society to be a slave to it…

Now these western Insurance companies are coming to my country in India and I get calls every week for them promising me heaven…I just say No. Thanks…

America has gone so dark that now without insurance you can not get Medication or Doc appointment….I believe you can get out of it by Deep Thinking…Study The FEAR….Feel The Fear and Pain….They are just lower vibrations….they disappear after a while…call your inner self when in pain….fight it out…stand on your will power…..There is no such thing as DEATH…Its again a psy-op on humanity…we never die…we are not the body….Sorry but this is the Hard Path we all have to take now as we are surrounded by total darkness….easier said than done but we MUST TRY…there is nothing else left in us…except being a slave…..

This is how i survive without insurance by saying everyday…I will FIGHT THE FEAR….I will FIGHT THE FEAR….I will FIGHT THE FEAR….

Humanity does not have an enemy except FEAR…fight it out…good luck..

    • 2¢Wurth

lavista: I have visited your country many times: I wish you could visit the United States. There is a distinct culture here that is very difficult to describe unless you see it in person. I could blame the food, water, air, environment or economy but all-in-all Americans have a difficult time weaning ourselves away from the “drugs” of our culture. Your words are as foreign to most Americans as our culture is to you. I very much doubt there would be any rush to “wellness” thought and actions no matter how much or how little medical help was provided. It is now in our character to just die out rather than take charge of our lives. What we do fear is fear itself.

      • gomurr

When you realize you are not this body, that there is no death, just change, there is no fear.

This fight will be won by humanity raising their consciousness and realizing their true power. It is happening, just not fast enough for those of us already awake. Patience is a virtue, they say. Meanwhile, the clock is ticking…

  • Tatiana Covington

    Which is worse?

    A. Obamacare.
    B. Fukushima.

    • John Aaron

I’d say it’s a toss up, but Obamacare has the edge.

    • Bruce Crane

Fukishima will lead to people needing medical care.
Obamacare will lead them to not getting it, but still having to pay premiums.

      Both bad?

      • Tatiana Covington

I hadn’t seen that connection. Now that you mention it—!

  • gerry d welder

The biggest tragedy of all is what this administration is doing to our American youth.

Instead of giving our next generation of US citizens every advantage, aide and encouragement they are starting off worst than broke (hopelessly wracked with debt), dumbed down education, job opportunities are slashed, even any entrepreneurial aspirations are smothered at the very start from government over regulation and taxes. And let’s not forget the millions of illegal invaders taking what’s left of jobs and diverting tax money for their benefits.

    Si, se puede? NADA

Google: Companies lay off thousands, lobby for millions more immigrant workers.

    Contact them, boycott them.

The list of corporations lobbying for illegal invasion of the US is available on the web:

Copy below then past in Google:

Cheesecake Factory, Hallmark, Disney, and Others Now Pushing …

  • gerry d welder

It’s interesting how American youth can organize, rally, get national MSM coverage overnight over something like the KONY scam but not a peep over their own devastating financial subversion and forced serfdom.

Every young American citizen should drop Zuckerberg’s Facebook, they are getting hurt the most by his spending millions to push corporate lobbied ‘immigration.

Here’s why corporations are lobbying for ‘illegal invasion’,

companies won’t have to pay for Obamacare if they hire illegal invaders:

Google: Obamacare Loophole Provides Incentive For Employers To Hire Illegal Aliens Over US Citizens

  • gerry d welder

What Obama is doing to our youth is an outrage

The subversion of ‘students’ for the continuity of university professor’s and administrator’s obscene salaries, opulent 6 figure pensions and benefits. Now forcing them to fund Obamacare that really funds exempt congressional healthcare, exempt unions, exempt illegal invaders and their other benefits and empowers the IRS, DHS, HHS and the federal government’s growing central control.

And what’s left of jobs are being handed to illegal invaders, but you will be taxed to fund their benefits.

  • gerry d welder

Hey, it could be worse, imagine if you were a twenty something US citizen?

Forced to buy Obamacare on one side, non-dischargeable student loan debt prison on the other and illegal alien invasion in your face

No time for personal finance or the Federalist Papers? Of course not, the globalists forbid such information, it would expose the whole thing and that would lead to student riots.

At what point will the students get it? Student loan debt, Obamacare and illegal aliens deluge for a better life (not yours, but you still must pay for it).

    • Josey Wales

Good Points Gerry. I hope the students get it soon also. Hopefully people will wake up to this BS.

    • Clewin

Maybe for most students, but when I was a student I would love it, unless it was worse than the $1100/mo I paid for COBRA in 1993 (fortunately the age extension to 26 came two months later and I was back on mom’s posh government plan). Pre-existing conditions suck balls when you need to get health care, so COBRA was my only option. For reference, I paid more to it than tuition.

  • Josey Wales

The people in the article who say they voted for Obama, I give them credit for having the balls to say so. On the other hand I am just sorry that they are now being dinged. There are many of us here who already knew what was going on and what what going to happen. We saw the writing on the wall. I guess the only good to come out of their stories is that they will now pass on the disastrous scenarios they are now dealing with. Hopefully it will awaken more people to the coming SHTF.

    • Uncle_Meat

Those involved with urgent ongoing care being cancelled have my sympathy. But all those others that voted for this abomination of a health law had heard the warnings but chose not to listen. Lots made fun of it and called the messengers names. There is no sympathy for these fools. There are even bigger fools who chose not to complain and continue to defend this crap because they are socialist tools at heart. These idiots are the bane of our country.

      • Putin n tame

        Congress voted for it! LOL
And they don’t have to pay for it! LOL

  • Pauly

Helium has been determined the best way to end one’s life. When the time comes, don’t be afraid to take control and end it. No blood or suffering from helium. The sick person could tend to all his affairs then fall asleep. This is what is coming, we saw it in Greece. But the correct method is never discussed, so people use guns, or knives, or ropes, or CO gas(very uncomfortable) They leave behind a bloody mess for someone to clean up and that is quite rude.

    • Tim

There is no “best way” to end your life. There’s always hope regardless of how hard life gets. We didn’t give ourselves life, and we don’t have the right to take our lives.

  • Badger Badgerism

I AM NOT GOING TO GET OBAMACARE…AND I AM NOT GOING TO PAY A FINE…how ever “THEY” can suck my d$ck….I’ll let them do that!

  • cootieboygirl .

How much longer can such incompetence continue? It’s never ending. I heard it said that Obama would never be impeached because he was black; the heck with that–impeach now!

  • jim

And wile president osama will take his family this holiday somewere in the world that will cost millions of dollars on tax payers money that we don’t have, back home there will be millions of american people that will suffer this holiday. Thanks president osama.

  • Keith

Obama is just another face of Satan we have a large amount of people in this world that worship him. But one day every one will know and every knee will bow to our LORD and Savior.

    • Autobot Grimlock

      BIG AMEN to that!

  • Brian Harrington

denounce your american citzenship I call upon all americans to do so

  • smart idiot

The sad part is who knows where the money going into it will even go. Probably to the Muslim brotherhood say they can continue to take over more countries.

  • vince foster

we need to send our dear leader on an extended vacation with reggie love to north korea -maybe he can take pelosi and feinstein with him

  • bsmsnudge

It strikes me as that the burden upon the people of the USA prior to independence was less onerous than the back breaking rules of their own government today.
In truth the US government has become far worse than that from which you gained your implied freedom.

I don’t understand as to why the streets are not alive with people opposing this tyranny, the complacency and fear amongst the public is absolutely palpable and it is very sad.

  • More like OBAMASCARE Horror Stories

  • fedupinsc

I have “free” govt insurance as a result of being in the military. While it is great for me, it sucks for my health care provider. Once everyone is on obamacare (and I believe that’s exactly where we’re headed) smart people will stay as far away from the medical profession as they can. Then the standards for becoming a Dr will have to be lowered. Ex: My daughter was involved in a traffic accident. My “free” health insurance covered the costs completely as far as I was concerned.
Soon after, I received the usual notification in the mail from my insurance Co breaking down the cost and what was actually payed. The total bill was $7482.33, the “allowed” cost (what was actually payed) was…wait for it……………………………………………$687.00! And no, the hospital/doctors cannot ask me for a dime more. That’s just one example.
Now I feel guilty everytime I go to my Dr.

    • gomurr

This is something most people are unaware of. The actual bill, and what is paid as compensation, can vary astronomically. This is why, if you pay cash, you will often get a discounted rate.

I hear some doctors, and even hospitals, are starting to post fees for this very reason. It’s also the reason, if hospitalized, your charged $4.00 for an aspirin (that may not be accurate as I’m not sure exactly what they’re charging these days). You are charged astronomically for every tissue, miniscule tube of toothpaste, etc., and you don’t seem to be able to refuse them, even if you have your own. This, of course, is precisely because of insurance; it’s all about inflating the bill as much as possible, because the compensation will be fraction of what is billed, and particularly if the compensation is coming from the government, via medicare, medicaid, or now, Obamacare.

Many doctors, and many hospitals, are now (I see you wrote this six months ago) refusing patients covered under Obamacare and their providers. My sister and I have personally spoken with several doctors in the last 2 or 3 years who were planning on, or have left their practices. It will only get worse. The VA scandal is just the beginning if a solution isn’t found.

  • John Blythe

I’ve never been a fan of Obama Care, but I had no idea that I’d even be affected by the rate changes. I received a notice from Anthem Blue Cross a few weeks ago that specified effective January 1st my rates are going to increase in order to comply with the regulations of the ACA. So I’m more than likely going to be paying $335 a month, as opposed to the $125 a month that I’ve been paying for several years. I have not been cancelled yet, but I would not be surprised if I eventually did receive some kind of notice. My uncle on the other hand did have his insurance cancelled last week. This system was designed to collapsed and Obama Care seems to be doing a very good job at insuring that this collapse happens.

  • James Vaughan

You wanted feel-good liberalism and you got feel-good liberalism. This means that liberals get to feel good about themselves. Nobody gives a damn what happens to you (just like they did not care about the victims of communism, or the victims of khomeini, or the victims of welfare, or the victims of “International Aid” packages).

  • JK474

I can’t stand Obama’s policies but I feel the Republicans deserve their fair share of the blame. After George W. Bush, John McCain, and Mitt Romney, a lot of people felt that had no choice but to eat whatever crap sandwich was provided by the Democrats. A war with Iran or unaffordable health care — those were America’s choices.

  • Chris Lehman

I’m not making an outright defense of Obamacare, but I’m skeptical of these claims because these could easily be fabrications. There have already been Obamacare horror stories in the news, which have received lots of attention; but they have been exposed as hoaxes. The stories in this article could also be fakes. We now know that the right-wing has already fabricated stories and publicized them; we also know that many of the problems with the Obamacare website were caused by hacker attacks from various right-wing groups.

Moreover, even if the stories in this article are true, as horrific as they are, the number of them might be dwarfed by the number of positive, feel-good stories of people who now have coverage for the first time, or who now have access to health-care plans that they hadn’t had access to before.

  • Nick5050

As James Carvalle says 80% of Democrats are Clueless. Obamacare Proves it.

  • rkb100100

These people are by and large not interested in politics, but politics is interested in them. These ignorant complacent people are getting a bucket of ice water dumped on them for being “above it all”, or more accurately, irresponsible citizens .

  • DDiPetrillo

screw Obama and his health care law I have a pre existing condition with no cure and no pills to take for it and im in pain everyday id rather take my last breath smoking a blunt then to ever again…

  • Tatiana Covington

People and companies should just go on issuing insurance in the old manner anyway, law be damned.
