On Monday, U.S. Senator Rand Paul was detained by the TSA for about two hours at an airport in Nashville. By doing so, TSA officials directly violated the U.S. Constitution and they demonstrated once again why the rest of the world is coming to regard us as a bunch of disgusting, arrogant “pig people”. Do we really want to get such a bad reputation that virtually nobody will ever want to visit this country? We are going to absolutely destroy our tourism industry with this nonsense. Yes, we all want to fly safely, but other countries get the job done without their security officials running around acting like a bunch of Nazi prison guards. The TSA should be shut down, but if Congress wants it to continue to exist it should be given a dual mandate. It should be directed to protect the dignity of the American people first, and the safety of the American people second. If those running the TSA don’t believe that this is possible, then they should be immediately replaced, because there are a whole lot of good people out there that could get the job done. Right now, TSA officials are treating American citizens like they aren’t even human. The truth is that Rand Paul got off easy compared to what has happened to many other Americans. As I have written about previously, some elderly Americans have been strip-searched, some have had their adult diapers removed, and some have even been left covered in urine by invasive TSA searches. Enhanced Pat-Downs At NFL Games? America Is Rapidly Turning Into A High-Security Prison
The NFL has announced that it will be implementing “enhanced” pat-downs at all 32 NFL stadiums. Once this is fully implemented, the 16 million fans that attend games each season will be frisked from the ankles to the knees and from the waist up. Apparently this new level of security was brought on by a recent incident where a Cowboys fan smuggled a stun gun into a game between the New York Jets and the Dallas Cowboys and started zapping other fans with it. As usual, authorities have responded to a minor security incident by massively overreacting to it. In the post-9/11 world in which we live, paranoia is standard operating procedure. Those that are responsible for security are far more interested in “covering their backsides” than they are in respecting the liberty, freedom and dignity of average Americans. America is rapidly turning into a high-security prison. When naked body scanners and “enhanced pat-downs” went into U.S. airports, those that warned that we would soon see these types of “Big Brother” security measures pop up at train stations, bus stations, shopping malls and sporting events were dismissed as “conspiracy theorists”. But it turns out that the “conspiracy theorists” did not even fully understand how quickly all of this nonsense was going to spread. How much “security” is going to be enough? Where in the world is the line going to be drawn? Barack Obama Cannot Get Congress To Pass Amnesty For Illegal Immigrants So Now He Is Just Going To Ram It Down Our Throats Any Way That He Can
If you are an illegal immigrant and you have not been arrested for committing a crime, the odds that you will ever be deported have now gone way, way down. With the Republicans in control of the House of Representatives, Barack Obama knows that he simply is not going to be able to get amnesty for illegal immigrants passed by Congress. But instead of giving up, Obama has decided to ram amnesty for illegal immigrants down our throats any way that he can. The head of the Department of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, has announced that there will now be a case-by-case review of all deportation cases involving illegal immigrants. Those involving “criminals” will be prioritized and almost all the rest will be thrown out. In essence, this is “backdoor amnesty” for illegal immigrants and it also represents a stunning admission by the Obama administration that it is simply going to refuse to enforce our immigration laws. Are Ridiculous Airport Security Measures Killing Airline Profits?
Over the past couple of years, the attitude of U.S. consumers towards flying has shifted dramatically. Once upon a time most Americans looked forward to flying, but thanks to rising airfares, horrific fees and ridiculous airport security measures that has changed. In particular, the new airport security scanners that can look underneath our clothing and the new “enhanced pat-downs” have caused many Americans to decide to give up air traveling for good. It is being projected that airline profits are going to be way down in 2011.
