Judgment On America? We Are On Pace For The Worst Year For Wildfires In All Of U.S. History!

Wildfire Lake - Public DomainNever before have so many acres burned in America up to this point in the year.  I just went and checked the latest numbers from the National Interagency Fire Center, and it turns out that we are now on pace for the worst year for wildfires in all of U.S. history.  So far in 2015, wildfires have burned an astounding 9,799,866 acres.  Before this, the worst year for wildfires was in 2006 when a total of 9,506,582 acres had burned through November 13th.  When I last reported on this, we were still behind 2006’s record pace, but now we have surged ahead of it.  Overall, the average for the last 10 years for the number of acres burned in the U.S. through November 13th is 6,464,947, and so we are more than 50 percent ahead of that pace right now.  Clearly, what we have been experiencing is highly unusual.  Could it be possible that this is some form of judgment on America? Earth Changes Accelerate As 12 Major Earthquakes Hit Chile Within The Last 24 Hours

Earth Globe Water Fire - Public DomainSomething strange is happening to our planet.  Over the past 30 days, there seems to have been much more “shaking” than normal, and this is particularly true along the Ring of Fire.  This afternoon I visited the official website of the U.S. Geological Survey, and I discovered that Chile had been hit with 12 major earthquakes within the last 24 hours alone.  The smallest was of magnitude 4.4, and the two largest both measured magnitude 6.9.  We have also seen dozens of volcanoes erupt recently, including the incredibly dangerous Mt. Popocatepetl in Mexico.  Fortunately we have not seen a major disaster that kills thousands of people yet, but many believe that all of this shaking is leading up to one.  In addition, the weather all over the world continues to get freakier and freakier.  Just today, Yemen was hit by a second major tropical cyclone in less than a week.  Any one of these strange disasters in isolation may not seem like that big of a deal, but when you start putting all of the pieces together it starts to become clear that something really significant is taking place. One Of The Most Dangerous Volcanoes In North America Is Roaring To Life

Popocatepetl - from WikipediaMore than 25 million people live in the vicinity of North America’s 2nd-highest volcano, and in recent weeks this volcano has been steadily rumbling and has been spewing out massive amounts of black smoke and ash.  I have previously written about “the most dangerous mountain in the United States” (Mt. Rainier), but if the volcano that I am talking about today experiences a full-blown explosive eruption it could potentially be a cataclysmic event beyond what most of us would dare to imagine.  Popocatepetl is an Aztec word that means “smoking mountain”, and it is also the name of a giant volcano that sits approximately 50 miles away from Mexico City’s 18 million residents.  “Popo”, as it is called by locals, was dormant for much of the 20th century, but it came back to life in 1994.  And now all of this unusual activity in recent weeks has many wondering if a major eruption may be imminent. Swarm Of California Earthquakes Continues A Series Of Unusual Events That Began In Late September

City Skyline - Public DomainFirst it was wildfires, then it was unprecedented flooding, and now it is earthquakes.  In the past two weeks alone, more than 400 earthquakes have shaken San Ramon – a small city that sits approximately 45 miles east of San Francisco.  Never before have so many earthquakes been recorded in that area in such a short span of time.  Standing alone, that earthquake swarm may not mean that much.  But when you stand back and look at all of the unusual events that have been happening since late September, a very disturbing picture begins to emerge. The September 28 Blood Supermoon, The Ring Of Fire And The Coming Great Japan Earthquake

Blood Moon - Public DomainOn September 28th, we will witness the last of the four blood moons that fall on Biblical festival dates during 2014 and 2015.  This blood moon will be a “supermoon” and it will be clearly visible from the city of Jerusalem.  According to Google, a supermoon is “the coincidence of a full moon or a new moon with the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth on its elliptical orbit, resulting in the largest apparent size of the lunar disk as seen from Earth.”  In recent years, there have been some that have suggested that there is a link between supermoons and increased seismic activity on our planet.  But others have written articles that claim to debunk this theory.  Personally, I have read what both sides of the argument have to say, and I do not know which side of the argument is correct.  But what I do know is that seismic activity along the Ring of Fire has picked up dramatically in recent years.   (Read More...)

Why America Should Be On High Alert For A Major Earthquake Along The New Madrid Fault

New Madrid Fault Earthquake ZoneDid you know that a magnitude 3.5 earthquake hit the New Madrid fault about a week ago? According to Fox News, the New Madrid fault line is approximately twenty times larger than the San Andreas fault in California, and it is starting to wake up.  Most people don’t realize this, but this fault zone has produced some of the largest earthquakes in U.S. history.  In 1811 and 1812, immensely powerful earthquakes along the New Madrid fault rang church bells in Boston and permanently changed the course of the Mississippi River.  If we had similar earthquakes today, the devastation would be unimaginable.  Unfortunately for us, earthquake activity in the middle part of the country is becoming much more common.  The USGS says that the number of significant earthquakes in the middle part of the country has more than quintupled in recent years, and the USGS has publicly admitted that the New Madrid fault zone has the “potential for larger and more powerful quakes than previously thought“.  Very few Americans are talking about this right now, but as you will see below, the threat is very, very real. The Most Dangerous Mountain In The United States: What Would Happen If Mt. Rainier Erupted?

Mount Rainier from Seattle - Public DomainIs the next major volcanic eruption in the United States just around the corner?  Mount St. Helens and the Yellowstone supervolcano get most of the attention, but many geologists are actually far more concerned about the potential danger that Mt. Rainier poses.  It has been called a “time bomb“, “the most dangerous mountain in the United States” and “one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world” due to its proximity to major population centers.  Scientists tell us that it is a matter of if, not when, the next eruption will happen, and even a minor eruption could result in tens of thousands of Americans being literally buried alive in super-heated mud.  So what would a full-blown eruption do?  It would potentially cause death and destruction on a scale that is almost unimaginable.
