Cascadia Earthquake Zone - Public DomainIf you live in the Pacific Northwest, you have probably already heard of the Cascadia Subduction Zone.  It is where the Juan de Fuca plate meets the North American plate, and it stretches approximately 700 miles from northern Vancouver Island all the way down to northern California.  This subduction zone is capable of producing far more powerful earthquakes than the much more famous San Andreas fault in southern California, and scientists tell us that it is only a matter of time before another continent-killing earthquake hits this area.  And when it does hit, it will be far worse than any other natural disaster that the United States has ever seen up to this point. 100 Foot Asteroid Could Pass Earth 20 Times Closer Than The Moon At 34,000 MPH On March 7th

Meteor Impact - Public DomainDid you know that a huge asteroid is scheduled to make a “close shave” with our planet on March 7th?  This asteroid is known as “2013 TX68”, and it is estimated to be anywhere from 80 to 170 feet in length.  Most news reports are saying that it is 100 feet long.  Scientists are telling us that they are not certain exactly how close this giant space rock will come, and that is rather unsettling.  They say that it could come within roughly 1/20th the distance from the Earth to the moon, or that it could pass by millions of miles away.  Because the orbit of this huge asteroid is unpredictable, they tell us that they don’t really know what will happen, but they insist that it will not hit us.  If it does pass us at 1/20th the distance from the Earth to the moon, that would be about half as far up as many of our communications satellites.  That would be incredibly close, and many are wondering what may happen if our scientists are just slightly off in their calculations. A New Madrid Earthquake Is Coming And America Will Be Shaken Like Never Before

New Madrid Fault Earthquake ZoneMost Americans expect the next great earthquake in the United States to come on the west coast.  But what if it strikes right down the middle of the country instead?  The New Madrid fault zone is six times larger than the San Andreas fault zone in California and it covers portions of Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee and Mississippi.  Back in 1811 and 1812, a series of absolutely devastating earthquakes along the New Madrid fault zone opened very deep fissures in the ground, caused the Mississippi River to run backwards in some places, and were reportedly felt as far away as Washington D.C. and Boston.  They were the strongest earthquakes ever recorded east of the Rocky Mountains, and scientists tell us that it is only a matter of time before we experience similar quakes.  In fact, the U.S. Geological Survey has admitted that the New Madrid fault zone has the “potential for larger and more powerful quakes than previously thought“, and the number of significant earthquakes in the middle part of the country has more than quintupled in recent years.  Someday, perhaps without any warning, an absolutely massive earthquake will strike the New Madrid fault.  Thousands of Americans will die, tens of thousands of structures will be completely destroyed, and millions of people will find themselves homeless. Parts Of California Are Actually Falling Into The Ocean

Pacifica Erosion - Photo from YouTubeWhy would anyone want to live in the state of California at this point?  Not only do you have to deal with unbearable traffic, insane politicians and unchecked illegal immigration, but now the weather itself seems to be going crazy.  A very strong El Nino has been sending destructive storm after destructive storm barreling into the west coast, and this is causing tremendous flooding, dangerous landslides and unprecedented erosion in coastal communities all over the state.  As I mentioned the other day, a state of emergency has just been declared in the coastal city of Pacifica due to the incredible amount of erosion that is happening there.  Now, incredible footage has been released that actually shows the coastline crumbling.  Small parts of California really are falling into the ocean, and meteorologists are warning that the worst may be yet to come. Flooding Damage From Jonas Will Cost Billions And Is Being Described As ‘Worse Than Hurricane Sandy’

As you will see below, Moody’s Analytics is projecting that up to 3 billion dollars of damage has been done, and USA Today is reporting that the flooding along the New Jersey and Delaware coasts was “worse than Hurricane Sandy in 2012”. So all of those that are mocking Jonas as “just a snowstorm” don’t really understand what they are talking about. Large numbers of homes, businesses and vehicles were destroyed – especially right along the coast. This was a major disaster, and it is going to take months of work for many of the affected areas to fully recover. (Read More...)

NASA Creates A ‘Planetary Defense Coordination Office’ That Will Track Meteors Headed Toward Earth

After telling us that “no large object is likely to strike the Earth any time in the next several hundred years” last year, NASA is now spending millions of dollars to set up a “Planetary Defense Coordination Office” that will be headed up by a designated “Planetary Defense Officer”. According to NASA, more than 13,500 near Earth objects have been found so far, and another 1,500 new NEOs are being discovered each year. Approximately 10 percent of all near Earth objects are one kilometer or larger in size, and if one of those giant space rocks ever hit us, it would likely be considered an “extinction level event”. It makes sense that NASA would be concerned about this threat, but why now? (Read More...)

The huge wildfire that erupted northwest of Los Angeles on Christmas Day and the devastating tornadoes that ripped through the Dallas area on Saturday can be added to a growing list of freakish disasters that have hit the United States since the month of September. So why in the world is this happening? Many are blaming the worst El Nino pattern that we have seen in at least 15 years. Right now we are witnessing very strange weather all over the world, including an unprecedented heat wave in Australia and the worst flooding in South America in 50 years. And it is true that El Ninos have significantly disrupted weather patterns in the past. But is the current El Nino really to blame for everything that we have been seeing? The state of Oklahoma has already set an all-time record for the number of earthquakes that it has experienced in a year, more acres have been burned by wildfires in the U.S. than we have ever seen before, and a “1,000 year rainfall” caused horrific flooding in South Carolina. Those are just a few examples of what we have been seeing, and many believe that this is just the beginning. So why is this happening?
