Debt Slavery: 30 Facts About Debt In America That Will Blow Your Mind

When most people think about America’s debt problem, they think of the debt of the federal government.  But that is only part of the story.  The sad truth is that debt slavery has become a way of life for tens of millions of American families.  Over the past several decades, most Americans have willingly allowed themselves to become enslaved to debt.  These days, most of us are busy either going into even more debt or paying off the debt that we have accumulated in the past.  When your finances are dominated by debt, it makes it really hard to ever get ahead.  Incredibly, 43 percent of all American families spend more than they earn each year.  Even while median household income continues to decline (now less than $50,000 a year), median household debt continues to go up.  According to the Federal Reserve, median household debt in America has risen to $75,600.  Many Americans spend decades caught in the trap of debt slavery.  Large numbers of them never even escape at all and die in debt.  It can be a lot of fun to spend lots of money and go into lots of debt, but it can be absolutely soul crushing to toil and labor for years paying off those debts while making others wealthy in the process.  Hopefully this article will inspire many people to try to escape the chains of debt slavery once and for all. You Won’t Believe How Corrupt, Lazy And Stinking Rich Our Congress Critters Have Become

If our founding fathers could see the cesspool that the U.S. Congress has become today, they would roll over in their graves.  Most Americans don’t realize this, but we already have a “part-time Congress”.  Members of Congress only “work” a little over a third of the days on the calendar.  The rest of the time they have off.  It is no wonder why so many members of Congress are involved in so much corruption – they have so much free time on their hands that they are bound to get into trouble.  Many members of Congress also use their positions of power and the information they learn during the course of their duties to become fabulously wealthy.  At a time when incomes nationally are actually declining, our Congress critters are becoming stinking rich at a staggering pace.  Yes, politics in America has always been a game that is funded and played by wealthy individuals, but things have gotten so extreme that it is hard to argue that average Americans have any control over Congress at all at this point.  Instead of a government “of the people, by the people and for the people”, we now have a government “of the wealthy, by the wealthy, and for the wealthy”.  If you doubt this, just keep on reading. 29 Amazing Stats Which Prove That The Rich Are Getting Richer And The Poor Are Getting Poorer

In the United States today, there is one group of people that is actually living the American Dream.  The ultra-wealthy have seen their incomes absolutely explode over the past three decades.  Meanwhile, the U.S. middle class has been steadily declining and the ranks of the poor have been swelling.  But this is what always happens when an economy becomes highly centralized.  Today, gigantic corporations and “too big to fail” banks totally dominate our economic system.  The whole game is rigged.  Our system is now designed to funnel wealth away from the bottom 90 percent of the population and into the pockets of the ultra-wealthy.  When you allow a handful of giant entities to run everything, it is going to inevitably create a situation where there are a small number of very big winners and a massive amount of losers.  In America today, the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer.  Yes, there will always be poor people.  Yes, those that work really hard and produce something of great value for society should be greatly rewarded.  The way that our system should work is that it should empower individuals and small businesses to come up with new ideas, start companies, create jobs and produce massive amounts of new wealth.  But instead, the number of small businesses in America is rapidly declining.  The giant banks and the giant corporations that run everything are constantly running around stomping all of the “little guys” out of existence.  This has created an environment where the rich are constantly getting richer and the poor are constantly getting poorer. The Obama Tax Plan: Is Barack Obama Plotting To Use Class Warfare As A Tool To Win The 2012 Election?

Barack Obama has revealed his tax plan and it is a doozy.  It would raise taxes by 1.5 trillion dollars over the next decade.  Most of these tax increases would hit the wealthy, and Obama keeps insisting that it is time for them “to pay their fair share”.  Of course Obama knows that the Republicans will never go for this.  You see, what is going on is that Obama is laying a trap.  First, he laid out a 447 billion dollar “jobs plan” that contained all kinds of goodies for the poor and the middle class.  Now he has introduced a massive tax plan which specifically targets millionaires in order to pay for it.  The Republicans are falling right into the trap, because instead of introducing fundamental reforms to our tax system, the Republicans have chosen to defend the status quo.  Right now our current tax system allows big corporations and the ultra-wealthy to get away with bloody murder, and the Republicans have put themselves into the position of having to defend that.  This is exactly what Barack Obama wants.  Obama is plotting to use class warfare as a tool to divide Americans and win the 2012 election.  There is no way in the world that his current plan is going to get through Congress.  What he is doing now is “setting the table” for the 2012 campaign season. The Future For Most Americans: Pathetic Jobs, Bad Debts And A Crappy Economy

Sorry to break this to you, but the future for most Americans is going to be pretty crappy.  Unless you are independently wealthy, the chances are good that you will have a low paying job, that you will be drowning in a sea of bad debts and that you will have to go on government assistance at some point.  Most American families are completely dependent on their jobs for income, and right now good jobs are disappearing at a frightening pace.  Over the last couple of decades, millions of high paying manufacturing jobs have been shipped out of the country and they are being replaced by low paying service jobs.  Small business creation is being absolutely crushed by the federal government, and millions of illegal immigrants have been allowed in to the country and they are now competing for the limited number of jobs that are still available.  The vast majority of the money and the vast majority of the power in this country are now in the hands of either the big corporations or the government.  Together, the big corporations and the government are absolutely crushing everyone else.  If you are not part of the “privileged class”, there is a good chance that your job is serving them.  Perhaps you are bringing them lunch or cutting their hair or stocking shelves for them. Once upon a time, America was “the land of opportunity”, but now that has all changed.  Tomorrow morning, millions of Americans will get up and go to pathetic, low paying jobs and millions of others will wonder why they can’t find anyone to hire them.  Sadly, if nothing is done to reverse the long-term trends that are destroying our economy, the number of “working poor” is going to continue to increase. Tax The Rich? 14 Facts You May Want To Consider

Class warfare in the United States is heating up again.  As the overall economic pie shrinks, the poor are being taught to go after the rich and the rich are being taught that the poor are a threat.  Lately, the calls to “tax the rich” have grown louder than ever.  As thousands more American families fall into poverty every single day, and as U.S. government debt continues to soar, many are touting higher taxes on the wealthy as the solution to all of our problems.  But is that what we really want to do?  Will it actually solve our economic and financial problems as a nation?  If you don’t have much money, it can sound very appealing when politicians say that they want to “tax the rich”.  But unfortunately, things are just not that simple. 22 Statistics That Prove The Elite Are Becoming Fabulously Wealthy While The Middle Class Is Being Ripped To Shreds

In the United States today, the only group that is “doing better” each year financially is the folks at the very top of the income pyramid.  Everyone else has seen their incomes decline.  Once upon a time, America had a relatively egalitarian system where just about anyone could “pull themselves up by their bootstraps” if they just worked hard enough.  But today, there are millions of Americans that can’t seem to get jobs no matter how hard they try.  Millions of others feel their tenuous hold on the American Dream slipping out of their grasp just a little bit more each month.  The truth is that we don’t have true capitalism in the United States anymore.  Over the past several decades, the financial system in the U.S. has been carefully molded and shaped in such a way that all the wealth is funneled to the elite at the very top and to the monolithic predator corporations that now dominate the global economy.  Power has become concentrated in the hands of very few individuals, and they are nearly impossible to compete against.  If you doubt this, go set up a general store right next to your local Wal-Mart and see how long you can survive.  In America today, the elite are becoming fabulously wealthy and the middle class is being ripped to shreds.  One of the things that our Founding Fathers were extremely concerned about was not allowing too much power to be accumulated in the hands of any one person or institution, but today we have turned our backs on that principle and now we are paying the price.  (Read More...)
