Most of the focus has been on who “won” and who “lost” politically, and if you have been keeping up with my articles you definitely know my opinion on the matter. But what nobody is really talking about is that this deal actually increases spending at a time when our debt has been absolutely exploding. With less than two months to go in his second term, the U.S. national debt stands less than 150 billion dollars away from the 20 trillion dollar mark. And at the pace that the debt is increasing, it seems almost certain that we will cross 20 trillion dollars before Inauguration Day. After promising us that “deficits are under control”, the federal debt jumped by more than 1.3 trillion dollars last fiscal year, and so far this year it is on pace to rise by a record-shattering 2.4 trillion dollars. 30 Stupid Things The Government Is Spending Money On

If you want to get paid for doing something stupid, just turn to the U.S. government.  The U.S. government is paying researchers to play video games, it is paying researchers to study the effects of cocaine on Japanese quail and it has spent millions of dollars to train Chinese prostitutes to drink responsibly.  The amount of money that the government wastes is absolutely horrifying.  Do you remember all of that political wrangling over the debt ceiling deal last year?  Do you remember how our politicians told us that there were cutting spending as much as they possibly could?  Well, it was all a giant lie.  As you will see below, the U.S. government is spending money on some of the most stupid things imaginable.  What makes all of this even worse is that we are going into enormous amounts of debt in order to pay for all of this.  We are borrowing billions of dollars a day in order to pay for stupid stuff that no government on earth should ever be paying for.  Trust me, you are going to find it hard to believe some of the stuff in this list.  It is almost inconceivable what our politicians are doing with our tax dollars. What in the world has happened to America?  This week two elderly women that are more than 80 years old have come forward with claims that they were strip-searched at JFK Airport in New York.  But sadly, this is nothing new.  The truth is that there has been a whole string of incidents involving elderly Americans being strip-searched or sexually molested by TSA agents at U.S. airports. What in the world is happening to America?  It seems like all we get out of politicians at the federal, state and local levels is a steady stream of really bad ideas.  Even when our government officials appear to have the best of intentions things still turn out badly.  “What were they thinking” is a phrase that is being uttered by millions of Americans on a daily basis.  Sadly, instead of focusing on real problems and real solutions, the mainstream media loves to focus on the latest scandal.  Last month everyone wanted to talk about Anthony Weiner.  This month everyone wants to talk about Casey Anthony.  Next month it will be somebody else.  There is a never ending stream of scandals for the mainstream media to latch on to, but what is America going to look like if we do not start addressing our real problems?  The United States has become a cesspool of corruption, greed, debt and depravity.  Everywhere you look there are signs of decline, and yet all our leaders come up with are more really bad ideas.  Time is running out on this nation, and with each passing day there seems to be fewer reasons to be optimistic about the future.
