Frustrated Homebuyers Are Competing With Investment Funds That Are Literally Buying Up Entire Neighborhoods

Home prices have been rising aggressively all over the nation this year, and this has caused a tremendous amount of frustration among ordinary Americans that are looking for something to buy.  As I have detailed in previous articles, we have often seen ferocious bidding wars break out for the most desirable properties, and many homes end up selling for way over asking price.  Unfortunately, many potential home buyers don’t even realize that they may be competing with investment funds, billionaires and wealth foreigners.  Gobbling up homes is now considered to be a way to make huge returns very rapidly.  Once homes are purchased, they are either flipped quickly for a large profit or they are rented out at very aggressive rates.  Meanwhile, it is becoming a lot more difficult for ordinary Americans to find affordable places to live. Flooding Damage From Jonas Will Cost Billions And Is Being Described As ‘Worse Than Hurricane Sandy’

Flooding - Photo by the National GuardThe economic damage done by winter storm Jonas looks like it is going to be much higher than many had originally anticipated. As you will see below, Moody’s Analytics is projecting that up to 3 billion dollars of damage has been done, and USA Today is reporting that the flooding along the New Jersey and Delaware coasts was “worse than Hurricane Sandy in 2012”. So all of those that are mocking Jonas as “just a snowstorm” don’t really understand what they are talking about. Large numbers of homes, businesses and vehicles were destroyed – especially right along the coast. This was a major disaster, and it is going to take months of work for many of the affected areas to fully recover. (Read More...)

Prepare Your Homes And Neighborhoods For The Violence That Is Going To Sweep America

Crime - Bloody Handprint - Public DomainThe thin veneer of civilization that we all take for granted on a daily basis is beginning to disappear, and a new era of chaos and anarchy is coming to our cities.  I don’t know if you have noticed, but violence is increasing on the streets of America.  Over Memorial Day weekend, 29 people were shot in Baltimore and 55 people were shot in Chicago.  But of course the trend that I am talking about is much broader than that.  According to the FBI, the number of police officers “feloniously killed” in the line of duty rose by an astounding 89 percent in 2014.  We live at a time when Americans are becoming extremely angry and extremely frustrated, and this is only going to intensify as economic conditions worsen.  But already we have seen some of this anger and frustration boil over into violence in Ferguson and in Baltimore.  And you know what?  The vast majority of Americans expect more of the same in the coming months.  According to a Wall Street Journal/NBC News survey that was recently released, 96 percent of all Americans believe that there will be more civil unrest in America this summer.  What we have seen up until now is just the warm up act.  The main event is still to come. The Banks Show No Mercy: 10 Foreclosure Horror Stories That Will Blow Your Mind

The Banks Show No Mercy: 10 Foreclosure Horror Stories That Will Blow Your MindDuring the last housing crash, the big banks begged the federal government for help and they received it, but when average Americans ask the big banks for help most of the time the banks show no mercy whatsoever.  If you fall behind on your mortgage payments, the big banks have shown that they are willing to be absolutely ruthless.  They will change locks in the middle of the night, they will toss disabled veterans and families with children out into the street in the middle of winter, and sometimes once the foreclosure process has begun they will not even allow someone to come forward and offer to pay off the loan if they think that they can make more money by selling the home.  The big banks will often string homeowners along for months or even years with loan modification promises, only to drop the hammer on them at the most inopportune time.  Over the past several years there has been case after case where mortgage documents have “disappeared”, where big banks have “manufactured” missing documents out of thin air and there have even been cases where big banks have tried to foreclose on homes that do not even have a mortgage.  Once in a while, the big banks get a small slap on the wrist, but nobody ever really gets into much trouble for any of this.  In fact, the big banks just continue to gain even more market share and even more power.  Hopefully when some of these foreclosure horror stories start to become publicized more widely we will start to see some real changes in the marketplace. 15 Statistics Which Prove That The U.S. Economy Is In Much Worse Shape Than Most Americans Think

Yes, most Americans realize that the economy is not doing well right now, but most of them also believe that this is just a “temporary” downturn.  The mainstream media tells us over and over that a “recovery” has either already begun or that one is right around the corner.  Sadly, the truth is that the U.S. economy is in much worse shape than most Americans think.  Yes, there will be economic “peaks and valleys” as we move along, but it is absolutely imperative that all of us understand that we are in the middle of a long-term economic decline that has been caused by decades of horrendous decisions.  Thousands of businesses and millions of jobs have left the country and they aren’t coming back.  Last year, 23 manufacturing facilities a day were shut down in the United States and we have lost more than 56,000 manufacturing facilities since 2001.  Without enough good jobs to go around, millions of American families have lost their homes and millions of American families have been pushed into poverty.  Less good jobs also means that there are less people to pay the taxes we need to keep government services going.  Government debt at the local, state and federal levels has exploded as the tax base has dwindled.  We have become a nation that is very good at consuming wealth but that is not very good at creating wealth.  Just “tweaking” a couple of things here or there is not going to get our economy back “on track”.  We need fundamental changes to the way that we are doing things, and there are currently no signs that this kind of change is going to happen any time soon. 10 Signs That The American People Are Angrier Than Ever And Record Setting Government Transfer Payments Are Not Pacifying Them

Right now, about the only things that the American people can agree on is that they are angry and that they do not like the direction that this country is headed.  Of course a lot of this is being caused by the economy.  Unemployment is rampant, millions of families have been kicked out of their homes and our country is drowning in debt.  But the economy is not the only cause of what is happening.  There is a growing restlessness in America today.  An increasing number of people feel very empty and very frustrated.  We still have a very high standard of living compared to the rest of the world, and yet there is this growing sense that our country is right on the verge of something really bad.  The very fabric of our society is coming apart at the seams and the thin veneer of civilization that we all take for granted is beginning to disappear.  You can almost feel the fear in the air.
