Who Decided That It Would Be A Good Idea….

Do you have faith in the people running this nation?  When answering that question, most people would bash either the Democrats or the Republicans, but my question goes much deeper than that.  Power is constantly shifting back and forth between the two major political parties, and it seems like things don’t really change no matter who is in power.  What I am asking is if you have faith in the entire system.  Do you have faith in the U.S. government, the Federal Reserve, the state governments, the local governments, our public schools and our financial system?  Do you believe that the people that are running things in this country are doing a good job?  When you look at the results, it is hard to argue that those in power are making good decisions.  In fact, this country is caught in such a downward spiral that it would be easy to argue that most of our politicians should immediately resign in disgrace.  Our leaders just keep coming up with one bad idea after another.  Sometimes it almost seems as though it would be better for our leaders to do absolutely nothing at all because every time they try to do something they only make things worse.

Posted below are a few dozens questions that reveal the stupidity of the people running this nation.  The truth is that the list below could be much, much longer.  If the founders of this nation could see us now they would be absolutely disgusted with us.

As you read the following list of questions, try to think about what the answers might be….

Who decided that it would be a good idea for the Federal Reserve to pay banks not to lend money to U.S. businesses and U.S. consumers?

Who decided that it would be a good idea to become so dependent on foreign oil?  The average price of a gallon of gasoline in the United States is now $3.80.

Who decided that it would be a good idea for the United States to have the highest incarceration rate in the entire world?

Who decided that it would be a good idea to allow private companies to run many of our prisons?

Who decided that it would be a good idea to put large amounts of “pink slime” into the school lunches of America’s school children?

Who decided that it would be a good idea to require barbers and beauticians in Iowa to receive 2,100 hours of education before they are allowed to cut hair?

Who decided that it would be a good idea for the United States to have the most lawyers per capita in the entire world?

Who decided that it would be a good idea to allow the notional value of the global derivatives market to grow to more than 20 times the size of the entire global economy?

Who decided that it would be a good idea for the U.S. to produce more pornography than any other nation on the planet?

Who decided that it would be a good idea for Americans to take more prescription drugs than anyone else in the world?

Who decided that it would be a good idea for the Republicans to try to defeat Barack Obama with the man who came up with the blueprint that Obamacare was based on?

Who decided that it would be a good idea to arrest people that are just trying to feed the homeless?

Who decided that it would be a good idea for police to drag women around by their hair and shoot pepper spray directly into their faces?

Who decided that it would be a good idea to allow our scientists to create “spider-goats” and other really weird genetically-modified creatures?

Who decided that it would be a good idea for Hillary Clinton to be Secretary of State?

Who decided that it would be a good idea to unilaterally slash the size of the U.S. nuclear arsenal by another 80 percent?

Who decided that it would be a good idea for the Department of Homeland Security to help arrest prostitutes?

Who decided that it would be a good idea to sell off our highways, water treatment plants, libraries, parking meters, airports and power plants to foreigners?

Who decided that it would be a good idea persecute farmers for selling raw milk?  The following is how Natural News described the hell that 65-year-old farmer James Stewart was put through recently….

65-year-old senior citizen James Stewart, a raw milk farmer with no criminal history, was nearly tortured to death in the LA County jail this past week. He survived a “week of torturous Hell” at the hands of LA County jail keepers who subjected him to starvation, sleep deprivation, hypothermia, loss of blood circulation to extremities, verbal intimidation, involuntary medical testing and even subjected him to over 30 hours of raw biological sewage filth containing dangerous pathogens.

Who decided that it would be a good idea to put an ingredient derived from human hair into our bread?

Who decided that it would be a good idea to run a 560 billion dollar trade deficit with the rest of the globe in 2011?

Who decided that it would be a good idea for the federal government to put thousands of guns into the hands of Mexican drug gangs?

Who decided that it would be a good idea “to accelerate fertility decline in the least developed countries“?

Who decided that it would be a good idea to put the Federal Reserve in charge of our money supply?  Since the Federal Reserve took over, the U.S. dollar has lost more than 95 percent of its value.

Who decided that it would be a good idea for the U.S. government to spend so much money?  If the U.S. government taxed corporate profits at 100% and taxed all income above $250,000 at a 100% tax rate it would still not even come close to covering all of the government spending that is going on.

Who decided that it would be a good idea to run up yet another federal budget deficit well in excess of a trillion dollars in 2012?

Who decided that it would be a good idea for the U.S. government to spend $175,587 “to determine if cocaine makes Japanese quail engage in sexually risky behavior”?

Who decided that it would be a good idea for the U.S. government to spend $750,000 on a new soccer field for detainees held at Guantanamo Bay?

Who decided that it would be a good idea for Americans to spend more money on elections than anyone else does in the world by a very wide margin?

Who decided that it would be a good idea for TSA agents to strip-search elderly women and grope their private parts in the name of airport security?  Does seeing and feeling the private parts of elderly women actually make us all safer?

Do you have any questions to add to this list?

Please feel free to post a comment with your additions to the list below….

Who decided that it would be a good idea to not only force North Korea, Pakistan, and Iran into cooperation with Russia and China as well as alarm India enough to trade Iranian Oil imports in gold. In addition, this follows upon decades of globalization, free trade agreements, and out-sourcing jobs (particularly manufacturing) to developing nations like Brazil, Russia, India, and China. Who decided after ‘propping up’ BRICS infrastructure and manufacturing output and then forces geopolitical leverage with North Korea, Pakistan, Syria, and Iran to Russia and China in particular?

  • El Pollo de Oro

Who decided that it would be a good idea to kick small business owners in the ass at every turn while fascist oligarchs get a bailout?

Who decided that it would be a good idea to turn a mighty economic engine like the United States into a pathetic Third World basketcase called The Banana Republic of America?

And here’s one that we’ll no doubt be asking in 2013 or 2014: who decided that it would be a good idea to invade Iran at a time when the BRA’s federal deficit was already through the roof?

  • mondobeyondo

Do I have faith in the people running this nation?

    Nope.

Of all the countries on earth, it seems we get less “bang for the buck” on everything. Presidential and congressional candidates spend millions to get elected, and to what end? In the end, the people who elected these politicians get screwed. We supposedly have the most advanced health care on earth. We spend more in health care than any other nation in the world. But only the wealthy can afford it!! Our quality of health care and infant mortality rate are downright awful, given the amount of money spent.

Our education system? We’ve been throwing money left and right over the years, trying to “improve education”. Just spend more money and we’ll have smarter students. Has it worked? Well, look at how American high school students place in math, science and history compared to other high school students in the rest of the world. We should be graduating future Einsteins, etc. from our high schools, with the amount of money spent on education. Instead, we have students getting high school diplomas who are functionally illiterate. Gasp!! It’s like — how did you get that piece of parchment paper without even knowing who Ulysses S. Grant was??! Wowwww.

Simply put – we aren’t getting what we paid for. It’s been wasted, squandered.

  • REED RICHARDS

    Michael,

Well, you started off on the right track when you made the statement that power has shifted back and forth between the republican and democrat wings of the war party and nothing seems to change for the better but seems to get worse and worse with each passing of the torch between the two wings.

Then you totally went off the rails with the ideat that the people who are doing X, Y, and Z are “stupid”, quote unquote. Sorry Michael, you make the same adolescent mistake that most people make when you say that these people are stupid. They are anything but, their laws, programs, and polices, while very punitive to the helpless, the powerless, and those that are not politically connected, these laws and so forth are very helpful to the rich, the powerful, and those who are politically connected. This is all by design. These laws, programs and policies are also beneficial to certain “caste players” in society such as criminal thugs in black and blue, i.e. police, lawyers, judges, politicians, political appointees and their staff, and corporate players.

Everything that these “people” do has a purpose behind it. Every move they make means something to those that do it and the paymasters footing the bill. Yes, there are competing groups and individuals with competing interests, but they all work towards the same goal. Making the rich and powerful and their government costumed overlords and protectors richer, more powerful, with immunity from most prosecutions, while crushing underfoot everyone else. They also punish the few who “wander off the reservation” and go “off script”. But most people who have sided with the criminal fascist system, by and large, benefit handsomely from it, or so they think. In the short run, yes, they get money, benefits like drugs, children as sex slaves, and the like. But in the long run, everyone, including the traitors who make their peace with killers, sociopaths and psychopaths, end up taking the fall…………….

    • Gay Veteran

Reed, your comments are always spot on!

Democrats and Republicans are two sides of the same coin. There is no “liberal” media, there is only the corporate media.

      • REED RICHARDS

        Gay Veteran,

Thank you. I try to impart sanity where possible. By and large, even those who run blogs are very susceptible to the fake left vs right paradigm, making themsevles dupes when trying to shill for one side vs the other. But they will finally realize that they have been had once the empire takes it final tumble into oblivion…………..

American voters are responsible for the current state of affairs. If you do not like the way things are here in America, vote OUT incumbents in the US Congress in Nov of 2012.
That is, if there are free and fair elections, which I doubt.
Just ask Bush about the massive voter fraud in Ohio in 2004 which sent the Smirking Chimp back to the White House to continue the destruction of America.

    • http://stopneocons.bravejournal.com Winston Smith

Most, 99% in election after election, continue to vote Main Big Box Party……so the chimps are more numerous then you think…the voting is fraud….

  • Justa Guy

Of course I don’t have faith in the people running America. What is worse though, is I have no faith in the American people. I don’t claim to be a genius, but the majority of Americans must be stupid, lazy, and morally deficient. This country is done until something rises from its ashes. The system we have and the people running it are the result of choices made by the American people in the past. Here are some more questions:

Who decided not to excercise their right to vote in every election (not just the president)? The American people

Who decided to vote for candidates based on a “party”, rather than one that is honestly seeking to do what is legal, moral, and in the best interest of the people they are supposed to serve? The American people

Who decided to re-elect the same representatives that are destroying our country over, and over, and over and over and over? The American people

Who decided that when you get caught lying, you are still worthy of being elected? The American people

The American people have the government they chose. When you have an immoral people voting, you get an immoral government. For the few that try to be vigilant and vote for the best candidate, we are left to suffer through the poor choices made by the “party voters”.

  • Rowell

While I agree with some of the things on your list, many of them are not decided upon by the government. Rather, they are decided upon by society in general. I mean, the government doesn’t decide to have the largest incarcerated population in the world, the people of society decide to become criminals. The government doesn’t decide to have the most lawyers, the people of society decide their profession. A lot of the problems stem from society’s choices on how things run. We have allowed things to get the way they are now. We decided to take the easy money. We decided that it would be okay to kick the can down the road. We decided to go into a television induced coma. We decided to allow the government to take more and more freedoms in return for a (false) sense of security.

When it comes right down to the wire, the fact is…it isn’t the government’s fault, it’s all our fault. It’s not democrats or republicans….it’s Americans. The sooner everyone realizes that and makes changes, the sooner we’ll get back to being the greatest nation on earth.

In regards to your first question, do I believe in the United States. Yes, I do believe in the ideals of the United States. I believe in the freedom, the prosperity, the equality that our forefathers wanted for all. What I don’t believe in is how perverted it has become; using fear, propaganda, division, hatred and intolerance to forge the chains that now bind us. I don’t believe in the lies and misinformation spread like a wet blanket over us, smothering our ingenuity, our aspirations, our dreams and our future. I don’t believe in the political parties that act like mortal enemies, but in all actuality are simply two sides of the same coin.

I do believe that we knew better than this. I do believe that we were better than this. I do believe that we are all stronger when we are all united and tolerant. And until we start realizing what it was that made America great, and start acting on it again, we’ll continue in our decline.

    • REED RICHARDS

      Rowell,

REPEAL THE NDAA, THE PATRIOT ACT, MILITARY COMMISSIONS ACT, IMPEACH OBOMBER, AND END THE FEDERAL RESERVE:

Don’t blame me, I don’t vote for either the democrat or republican wing of the war party, I believe in putting all sex predators behind bars for a minimum of 50 years each for raping children, whether they are male or female, cop, or white trash/street thug low-life, I don’t support the amerikan killing machine or its murderous foreign policy, I am totally against the Federal Reserve, and I am totally in favor of vastly limited government, and that means the real deal of scaling down government big time, not the useless soundbite that idiots and suckers fall for.

  • i’vegivenup

Who decided that those in Congress only have to work 4 days per week with numerous LONG holidays throughout the year?

Who decided no term limits for those in Congress?

Who decided that Congress members get full benefits and pensions paid by the taxpayers during their term in office and AFTER they retire?

Who decided that members of Congress could have access to insider trading?

Who decided that members of Congress could make their own rules to fit their needs regardless of the cost(s) to taxpayers?

    • Kevin

      Congress decided.

  • Donald Wilson

It doesn’t who is at fault we are all screwed, face it we as a nation are at the end of the proverbial rope. It is just a matter of time before hit bottom. Good luck and quit complaining stand up for what’s right.

  • 1stVArifleman

Who decided that it wasn’t treason to tell a member of Congress as Sec. Of Defense (WAR), that they didn’t have to ask Congressional permission for military actions (policing the world)?

Why is it ok for the attorney general to make a speech about Due Process, and claim that Due Process does not mean Judicial Process?

Great article today Michael. These are great questions that anyone should be able to identify with.

    LONG LIVE THE CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC!

    • 1stVArifleman

I really should have put: (policing the world for Rothschild interests).

I say that after I typed in “Rothschild” on an iPad and it recognized Rothschild with its smart technology. That’s a new one on me. This global cabal is definitely revealing itself more every day.

      Sic Semper Tyrannis!

  • Gay Veteran

Who decided that it would be a good idea for the U.S. to produce more pornography than any other nation on the planet?

the porn consumers in the Bible Belt

Who decided that it would be a good idea for the U.S. government to spend $750,000 on a new soccer field for detainees held at Guantanamo Bay?

well at least we’ll have a gulag with a good soccer field

    • http://stopneocons.bravejournal.com Winston Smith

You ahve some points, in that the average Protesant and NeoCath is a real hypocrite……

[Who decided that it would be a good idea to unilaterally slash the size of the U.S. nuclear arsenal by another 80 percent?]

Think that’s dumb? Try using them (and receiving nukes in retaliation) and see how that works out.

    • http://stopneocons.bravejournal.com Winston Smith

even at 20% or so, likely enough nukes to wipe out the planet several times over….lets say there are still 10,000 high yield nukes, maybe tehre were 20,000 a few yrs ago..really, the cuts, would that make a huge difference….what cant you destroy with 10,000?

  • Georgiaboy61

Re: “Just ask Bush about the massive voter fraud in Ohio in 2004 which sent the Smirking Chimp back to the White House to continue the destruction of America.” Got news for ya, buddy, GWB’s been retired now for years. Obama is the guy running the show now, and your comment about vote fraud would be laughable if not for the fact that you apparently believe it! Obama is in office illegally, as he isn’t liegitimate under the constitution, and moreover, he and his people in ACORN openly stole votes and no one did a damned thing about it…. so spare us the leftist/progressive sanctimony. You wouldn’t know the truth if you tripped over it.

    • http://stopneocons.bravejournal.com Winston Smith

Problem is that most say what you said and ignore the past wrongs of GOPers, hence they then vote GOP to replace Obama.. This mess is a long time coming, with many hands in the pot, but both sides want to forget, play down or ignore what “their guy” did.hence we keep playing the elect a Dem, elect a Repub…..the poster you are countering is making the point that both are bad and if anyone had real guts, they would vot alternative, for themselves or boycott this fraud…..

  • Kelly B

Why is the U.S military now permitted to engage in intercourse with sweet little innocent animals?

Besides a willing human, ************** should be the only lawful outlet.

It is sick to do that to an animal and it’d be very hard for me to not shoot them. Animals have no voice all living things are in our hands and humans take away their habitats and even rape them…brings tears of shame to my eyes.

  • http://stopneocons.bravejournal.com Winston Smith
