On The Coldest Day In America In 20 Years, Here Are Al Gore’s Stupidest Global Warming Quotes

Ice StormAmerica could actually use some global warming right about now.  It is being projected that low temperatures across the Midwest could be 30 to 50 degrees below average on Monday morning.  On Sunday, fans that attempted to tailgate before the playoff game between the 49ers and the Packers at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin were discovering that their beers were actually turning to ice before they could drink them.  That is cold.  But things are going to get really chilly when nightfall arrives.  In fact, it is being projected that much of the nation will experience wind chill temperatures of more than 40 degrees below zero, and wind chill temperatures of more than 50 degrees below zero are expected in parts of North Dakota and Minnesota.  The weather is expected to be so cold that the governor of Minnesota has actually decided to close public schools statewide on Monday.  The last time that happened was back in 1997.  The reason why the governor of Minnesota did this is because when temperatures get this low they can literally be life threatening.  When wind chill temperatures get down to about 50 below zero, if your skin is exposed you can literally develop frostbite in about five minutes.  This is being called the coldest day in America in 20 years, and these cold temperatures have many Americans wondering what ever happened to all of that “global warming” that Al Gore and other “climate scientists” have been warning us about for so many years.

If the planet really is getting significantly warmer, our winters should not be like this.  Back in the year 2000, one prominent “climate scientist” boldly declared that future generations of children “just aren’t going to know what snow is.

Oh really?

The truth is that you don’t have to be a “climate scientist” to understand what is happening to the weather.  All you need is a little common sense.

Back in September, I warned that this was going to be “an extremely bitterly cold winter“.  I wrote another article that warned about how cold this winter would be in early December.

Right now we are witnessing cold temperatures that we have not seen in decades.  The following is the way that one meteorologist put it…

“If you’re under 40 (years old), you’ve not seen this stuff before.”

Another meteorologist wanted people to understand just how dangerous this kind of cold weather can be…

“A person not properly dressed could die easily in those conditions.”

To get an idea of just how cold it is up in Minnesota today, just check out the following anecdote that was reported by the BBC

Firemen tackling a blaze in Minneapolis, where temperatures have been below -20C, saw the spray from their hoses turn to ice as it hit the building.

And it is even colder up in Canada.  Things are so cold up in Ontario that “frost quakes” have become very common…

While America collectively freaks out over their impending ‘polar vortex’, Canada is changing the game when it comes to cold weather phenomenon as reports of ‘frost quakes’ emerge from around Toronto and Ontario.

Indeed, as temperatures drop overnight to around -4f around the city hundreds of people are being startled by hearing large booms – causing them to think their homes are being broken into or gunshots are being fired.

In fact, they are merely hearing the after-effects of the frost quakes – or cryoseism – which are more commonly found on a glacier in the polar regions.

So are we really experiencing “global warming”?

Of course not.

If anything, things are actually getting colder.

What the United States and Canada are experiencing right now is making global warming alarmists such as Al Gore look quite foolish.  The following are 10 of Al Gore’s stupidest global warming quotes…

#1 In 2008, Al Gore boldly declared to a German audience that “the entire North ‘polarized’ cap will disappear in 5 years.” (Needless to say, that did not happen.  In fact, the ice cap in the Arctic actually got larger this year.)

#2 “CO2 is the exhaling breath of our civilization, literally. … Changing that pattern requires a scope, a scale, a speed of change that is beyond what we have done in the past.” (Actually, without carbon dioxide life on earth would not exist.)

#3 “The planet has a fever. If your baby has a fever, you go to the doctor. If the doctor says you need to intervene here, you don’t say, ‘Well, I read a science fiction novel that told me it’s not a problem.’ If the crib’s on fire, you don’t speculate that the baby is flame retardant. You take action.” (It sounds like what Al Gore really needs is more cowbell.)

#4 During a speech at NYU Law School in 2006, Al Gore made the following statement: “Many scientists are now warning that we are moving closer to several “tipping points” that could — within as little as 10 years — make it impossible for us to avoid irretrievable damage to the planet’s habitability for human civilization.”

#5 “Here is the truth: The Earth is round; Saddam Hussein did not attack us on 9/11; Elvis is dead; Obama was born in the United States; and the climate crisis is real.”

#6 “The interior of the earth is extremely hot – several million degrees.” (It actually peaks out at about 11,000 degrees.)

#7 “There is an air of unreality in debating these arcane points when the world is changing in such dramatic ways right in front of our eyes because of global warming.”

#8 “It would be an enormous relief if the recent attacks on the science of global warming actually indicated that we do not face an unimaginable calamity requiring large-scale, preventive measures to protect human civilization as we know it.”

#9 “The survival of the United States of America as we know it is at risk. And even more — if more should be required — the future of human civilization is at stake.”

#10 “We ought to approach this challenge [of global warming] with a sense of profound joy and gratitude: that we are the generation about which, a thousand years from now, philharmonic orchestras and poets and singers will celebrate by saying, they were the ones that found it within themselves to solve this crisis and lay the basis for a bright and optimistic human future.”

As time goes by, the scientific evidence continues to mount.  It is becoming painfully evident that the theory of man-made global warming simply is not true.  The following is from a recent New American article

Well, 2013 is almost over, and contrary to the alarmist “predictions” by Gore and what critics refer to as his “doomsday cult,” the latest satellite data show that Arctic ice cover has actually expanded 50 percent over 2012 levels. In fact, during October, sea-ice levels grew at the fastest pace since records began in 1979. Experts predict the expansion to continue in the years to come, leaving global-warming alarmists scrambling fiendishly for explanations to save face — and to revive the rapidly melting climate hysteria.

In September, meanwhile, data also showed that sea ice levels in Antarctica had expanded to record levels for the second year in a row. Of course, by now, virtually everyone who has been following news about “global warming” — now more often referred to as “climate change” owing to public-relations concerns — also knows that global temperatures have not risen for some 17 years. The spectacular lack of warming demolished all 73 of the “climate models” used by the United Nations to push its controversial theories.

Sadly, most of the governments of the planet still consider “man-made global warming” to be one of the greatest threats facing us, and the U.S. government is leading the charge.  In fact, the U.S. government has been giving other nations billions of dollars to help them cope with “climate change”…

American taxpayers spent $7.45 billion to help developing countries cope with climate change in fiscal years 2010 through 2012, according to a federal government report submitted to the United Nations on a subject that Secretary of State John Kerry described as “a truly life-and-death challenge.”

And it appears that Barack Obama plans to make the fight against global warming a major point of emphasis for the rest of his time in office…

When President Obama leaves office three years from now, the major policy story of his second term — barring some kind of unforeseen invasion — is likely to be climate change. I made this argument at feature length last year, and the evidence continues to mount. Coral Davenport reports today about Secretary of State John Kerry’s “systematic, top-down push to create an agencywide focus on global warming.”

Considering the host of other major problems that this country is facing, it truly is ironic that the federal government is spending so much time and energy fighting a problem that doesn’t even exist.

Speaking of ironic, a team of “climate change scientists” that had recently gone down to the Antarctic to study “global warming” had to be rescued by helicopter when their ship got stranded in the ice…

A group of climate change scientists were rescued by helicopter Jan. 2, after being stranded in the ice since Christmas morning. But the majority of the broadcast networks’ reports about the ice-locked climate researchers never mentioned climate change.

The Russian ship, Akademic Shokalskiy, was stranded in the ice while on a climate change research expedition, yet nearly 98 percent of network news reports about the stranded researchers failed to mention their mission at all. Forty out of 41 stories (97.5 percent) on the network morning and evening news shows since Dec. 25 failed to mention climate change had anything to do with the expedition.

In fact, rather than point out the mission was to find evidence of climate change, the networks often referred to the stranded people as “passengers,” “trackers” and even “tourists,” without a word about climate change or global warming.

Yes, the climate of the earth is changing. Throughout history it has always been changing. Most of that change is due to fluctuations in the gigantic ball of fire that our planet is revolving around.

But the idea that carbon dioxide is going to “destroy the planet” is ludicrous.  Without carbon dioxide we would all die.

And the notion that “man-made global warming” is the “greatest threat” that humanity is facing is absolutely laughable.

Sadly, nothing seems to dissuade the true believers.  Not even days like today.

Cold Weather

  • uh-huh

i guess all that garbage they were spraying into the atmosphere for the last several years might actually hurt America’s outcome weather-wise….YA THINK!!!!!

  • Graham

    Great article!

I was reading some of the latest findings on the “chemtrail conspiracy” last night and it is now being claimed by “independent” experts that the program is actually causing “climate change” due to the carbon dioxide being “trapped” in our atmospheres. Carbon dioxide of course being the “food” of plants and trees.

They also pointed out that changes cause extensive warming in certain areas, whereas the complete opposite is being found in others. As a well known Florida based Professor has discovered, much of data in the latest official reports come from “highly questionable” sources. Funny how they always ignore the sun. Doh…

The climate models being used are almost as amusing as those from NIST regarding Building 7. At least they eventually admitted in writing that they didn’t know what brought the building down, despite FEMA recommending an investigation be carried out due to evidence of explosive devices being used. Doh…

  • Captain Canuck

“5. Here is the truth: The Earth is round; Saddam Hussein did not attack us on 9/11; Elvis is dead; Obama was born in the United States; and the climate crisis is real.”

    All true.

You realize that the majority of the world’s scientific community agree there is a climate crisis, right? You realize that the symptoms of this crisis are an increase in radical weather patterns (extreme cold included)?

You also realize that you attest to the fact that angels and other fantastical creatures actually exist.

Sorry but I have to go with the majority of PHD’s around the world.

    • JasonD

It will get colder in the winter and warmer in the summer, and the temperature, when averaged over time and different locations of the earths surface will slowly get higher over time (barring effects such as the ending of the current interglacial). Very reminiscent of a stock chart that gets more volatile as it rises in price.

It may get colder one year and hotter the next, but driving all those cars all day every day is going to do something. For proof, simply drive through LA or San Diego and just look at the sheer traffic!

    • Uh-huh

and here is YOUR inconvenient truth courtesy of the American Museum of Natural History:

” Each year, tons of ash and gas are spewed into the air by volcanoes around the world. Most of it
falls to the ground within weeks, or washes out in rain. But a truly powerful eruption can shoot millions of tons of volcanic gases into the
stratosphere, many kilometers high, where it may circle the globe for years. (The stratosphere is the top layer of the atmosphere; the lowest
layer, the troposphere, is where all surface weather takes place.) Major eruptions can create a haze in the stratosphere that shades and cools Earth enough to cause climate changes.”

      • Zechariah

I most certainly agree with volcanism! Many volcanos that been dormant for decades are now all firing at once. Humankind’s destructive emissions pale to insignificance compared to what the planet itself can do…except in he case of Fukishima. God help us all!

    • Doug Murray

You realize that all of the experts you mentioned are making money from this lie don’t you

      • Annon

The “experts” are not making nearly the money that the oil corporations are making.

This biting cold is WEATHER. WEATHER is NOT CLIMATE. Climate disruption is causing vast swings in the Jet Stream due to the decrease in temperature gradient from the North Pole to the Equator. In 2013 ice cover in the Arctic was lower than in all human history. The ice near the Antarctic is from melting ice and fresh water freezes at much lower temperatures than salt water.

Whether we wish to believe in the Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy and gods or if we understand basic scientific facts, we will all feel the wrath of a climate pushed to the extreme.

        • krinks

The Oil companies are behind AGW. They know it will restrict drilling and keep their prices high.

        • Apokalupto Aletheia

Let me go through your points:
Climate disruptions are causing vast swings in the Jet Stream. No, the Jet Stream is unaffected by climate. It is merely a “river” of air created by Earth’s rotation. it does flow in north-south waves and dips more south at times bringing arctic air south.
The flow of liquids and gasses ALWAYS goes from the warmer to the colder. NEVER from the colder to the warmer. Also, this flow from the warmer to the colder is faster when the temperature difference is GREATER. So if the temps near the equator are the close to the temps at the poles little air would flow between the two. The Jet Stream would be a straight line, not the wobbly line that is currently bringing the cold southwards.
NEWSFLASH: Salt water does not freeze. That is why the Dept of Transportation in each state salts the roads prior to freezing precipitation events. So to your point that fresh water freezes at a lower temperature than salt water I just have to laugh at you trying to sound smart but exhibiting your ignorance.

Just to poke the stick harder…Since when does climate have anthropomorphic characteristics, such as having anger expressed in wrath?

    • krinks

Have you ever heard of the logical fallacy called an Appeal to the Majority? I suspect not.

      • MichaelfromTheEconomicCollapse

        Excellent point.

    • cellular cosmogony

You’re right about Saddam, the rest is HIGHLY debatable. Yes that includes the part about the earth being round, assuming you believe that we live on the outer, convex slope of course.

  • Captain Canuck

I bet you if Ted Cruz said global warming was real you’d be in total agreement.

    • uh-huh

only if I didn’t have a brain to think with…because i take NOTHING at face value…that is the importance of researching data independent of CC trolls….multiple data, and NOT buying government party line BS.

BUT…I bet you still think margarine is GOOD for you…because they told you so.

    • MichaelfromTheEconomicCollapse

Unlike most Americans, I do not blindly follow political leaders.

I try to think for myself, and I encourage everyone else to do the same.

  • K

Whatever you want to call it, somethings up. To me it is most obvious with the cyclonic type storms. In 2013 it was the pacific Several amazingly large cyclones. In 2012 it was Sandy the largest Atlantic Hurricane I have ever seen. Look at the past few years with tornadoes. I can clearly remember several years passing between F4 tornadoes, and Until recent I had never even hear of an F5. Now you can not get through a single season without an F4, in some cases more than one. Now add to that all the one hundred year heat records we broke this Summer. And now we are breaking all kinds of cold records this Winter. The cause, let the experts argue that. The fact we are having much more extreme weather, you do not have to be an expert to notice that..

    • K

Almost forgot, what is causing this record cold? Yep a cyclonic storm of extreme size.

    • seth datta

HAARP – military tech to control weather patterns. Global warming is a scam designed to get greater revenue for the bankers, whilst ensuring us ‘proles’ don’t use up ‘their’ resources.

      • Truth

I didn’t know that Al Gore was a banker. Between his speeches and sales of carbon offsets, he (and the “scientists” receiving grants from the promulgators of this farce) are the biggest profiteers from this scam.

    • There is NO Carbon climate forcing, only FORCED Carbon commodity markets, taxes and controls. There is NO ‘sustainable’ energy as every green meanie scheme requires more energy to create than it produces. There is NO ‘peak’ oil as Hydrocarbons are a natural by-product of Earth’s fission. See “Becoming A TOTAL Earth Science Skeptic” and be skeptical of over paid, under trained bobble head professors with peer/pal reviews of a false echo chamber hypothesis.

See Publications at Principia Scientific International.

    • Kim

It looks like the weather is going to break tomorrow and even rain is expected in Minneapolis and Chicago on Friday. You guys are getting our Oregon heat! I just hope to god we don’t get a polar vortex out here. I’m happy with 49F and rain.

      • K

Yes it looks like real relief will have to wait for Friday. Good practice for dealing with difficult circumstances.

        • Kim

          That’s very true. :-)))

  • The elites wanted it this way…so that we won’t be PREPARED. The knew what was coming, they gave a twist to the whole event so that when it hits humanity. we will be never prepared for it.

Al Gore just played his part, that’s the reason whole propaganda lies were exact opposite of the truth aka Cold Vs Warm. They fooled humanity again by making look themselves as fools while they have prepared themselves in underground bunkers, warmer homes, self generators and what not while we are fighting among ourselves debating how global warming is a hoax, how climate change is occurring and now its global cooling debate.

Elites are Evil…BUT NOT STUPID…..They have all the money, all the technology, all resources in the world to know exactly what is coming. They just didn’t want us to know about it…Even now, when its clear something is wrong with the climate we are still debating on elite sponsored propaganda.

They are deliberately trying to confuse and mislead humanity..So that we will NEVER BE PREPARED.

Please for your FAMILY SAKE, Your KIDS sake…WHATEVER YOU BELIEVE IN…PREPARE…PREPARE….Do not think Al Gore was stupid, they just played a nice reverse Psy-op on you…Move On….When elite say one thing .Know its the opposite and as we can see…Its Colder and from Alternative research…Min-Ice Age is Here….

  • cellular cosmogony

It is not at all ironic that federal government is spending so much time and energy fighting a problem that doesn’t even exist. Can you somehow not see that “climate change” (global warming) is a key NWO agenda item? Can you not see that the NWO is running this country…indeed the world?

    • Sorcha The Dark Eyed Elf

Please explain to me how seven billion consumers are NOT throwing the Earth ecosystem out of balance and abusing that which God gave them to take care of. God would be disappointed.

      • TheTriguy

I do not think that anyone is saying that we should not be more cognizant of the earth and the resources we use. The days of “throw away” anything should be long over. But that does not mean that we as humans are warming the world by simply existing. Climate patterns–hot and cold, wet and dry, sunshine and storm–have existed since the beginning of time. Much of it–so these same scientists tell us–long before man existed. We as a species should not be so taken with ourselves to believe that we can control and correct everything. Start by matching what they climate change group said would happen with measurable reality and go from there and then we can have a discussion. Sorry, but this is one cause that does not deserve money or effort since it really does not exist.

        • Cynicalguy42

Good point. I’m not saying to believe in global warming, but I am saying to use your resources wisely. There may be a time when you can’t afford to waste your resources.

      • cellular cosmogony

That’s the true irony of the matter. Indeed we are impacting the ecosystem in very serious ways that need to be addressed immediately…it’s just that the proper corrective action doesn’t lead to us being essentially put in a cage.
They don’t care about the ecosystem, Sorcha…THEY WANT YOU IN A CAGE.

  • HecatesMoon

It’s cold here. Really cold and only going to get colder. The wood stove is in the basement so it isn’t going to manage the temps in here too well. We never figured on anything quite like this.
Kitchen is closed off (it IS cold in there), just turned on the electric fireplace to add more heat, dogs are in the basement, and my little chickens…. I sure hope they can take it. They still may end up in the house before it is over with. All 28 of them. Lol Depends on how they seem tomorrow I guess….
The dumb geese… they would not follow me with the feed bag and were plopped right out in the snow and wind and won’t go in anywhere.
The last I checked, the windchill was -4. And surely I misread, but it looked like the windchill at its coldest tonight will be -18.
    – 18. I’ve never known anything like that!! Man-made, not man made…. I agree with K. Something is definitely up.

    • K

You did not read it wrong. Tuesday will be the worst for me, possibly -20 degrees. My pipes are wrapped, but I do not know if they can handle that. As you close off areas, watch that the pipes in those areas do not freeze. Most are not ready for this level of cold. While you are taking care of everything else, do not forget to take care of yourself. Before this is over, I expect some people are going to make fatal mistakes.

      • Anonymous

The news channel I saw reported -52 in Minneapolis and -57 in Bismarck.

        • HecatesMoon

I couldn’t imagine these temps, and definitely not those.

        • MichaelfromTheEconomicCollapse

A lot of my relatives live up there. I feel sorry for them.

      • HecatesMoon

Pipes were good this morning, but it’s pretty chilly in here. Even in the living room. Heh…
I haven’t gone outside yet this morning. I’m afraid of what I’ll find laying in the yard or out in my coop.
I’ve got water down in the basement where the stove is so if the pipes were to freeze, there’s that at least. Monetary damage could be dealt with later. :/
And if this kind of stuff were to become a permanent fixture of winters, we have a smaller stove set aside that we could install somewhere up here on the first floor of the house. I’ve actually tried to convince John that we should go ahead and install.
With the one downstairs, we mostly rely on electricity to force the heat up vents. But we could also pull the carpeting up here in the living room (which we mean to do anyway) to let it radiate through the floor or put a hole with a cover on it in the middle of the floor to let the heat come up.
And yes, every person in the house has been sick recently. I’m the last one to have caught it and have just been starting to get over whatever it was. Go figure. Sprinkle some stress on it. It’ll be fiiiiine. lol
Stay safe everyone, and you too K.
Good luck for everyone with livestock. May your goats be really furry, your chicken coops warm, and may your waterers remain unfrozen!

      • Kim

Wow K, please hunker down and ride this out. Check on your neighbors! I saw that this is going to pass soon. Take care.

        • K

You are very kind. I will be up most of the night monitoring the situation. Yes thankfully, the worst is over in 24 hours.

    • jaxon64

I also worry about my animals..I’m not a rancher or farmer–just a suburbanite with a few acres and some chickens, goats, rabbits–and I’ve converted the old horse stables ( they were here as part of an animal rescue group before I bought the place) into pens. I’ve been fine with some temps in the teens at night but now I’m concerned–not sure they are gonna tolerate negative double digit temps.
I may risk a few space heaters in the causeway between stalls and hope they are enough to take the worst of the chill off so I don’t end up with chicken-cicles on their roosts.
The other animals should be fine with the hays and beddings..
PS: I can’t believe that there are still people who call us flat-earthers because we weren’t sufficiently programmed since childhood to buy into this anthropogenic global warming—if you are still a climate change whacko–read this, “It IS ALL ABOUT CONTROL anbd MONEY!!!” They want to monitor how you live and Al Gore and others are positioned to make billions and billions on carbon taxes, alternative energies and regulating us…wake the heck up!!

      • MichaelfromTheEconomicCollapse

Very good points. I hope that everyone is taking care of their animals in this cold weather.

        • HecatesMoon

Space with good ventilation but NO DRAFTS. A good thick layer of bedding, and water at ALL TIMES!!!! That’ll usually do it in normal cold weather for most animals, most of the time. Though there are exceptions.
A dose of apple cider vinegar in chicken waterers (not metal) can’t hurt anything either. :)

      • HecatesMoon

I hate to admit it… you know… fire hazard and all… but I did keep a couple heat lamps running in the coop. There was just NO way I was going to leave them out in that, especially with a lot of them being bantams, and not put a couple lamps on them. Not to mention all the birds in my coop now were all born this fall, not Spring, so only a few months old.
I am happy to report that everyone made it through the night! Even the dummy geese!!! Although, I didn’t hear them at first this morning and thought they must be done for out there. Then I heard them and it was just a matter of spotting two white geese in the snow. :D
If the space heaters have the back handles, I would just strap them or something so they can’t fall over.
Goats were ok and rabbits too.
I DID have a rough morning of it though. My goofy dog was on the back porch and chewed on one of my water jugs. No idea where the cap went. Don’t think I want to know. lol So I made my chickens their oatmeal, and was carrying the bowl and two jugs of water. So I had to get the gate open, but refused to put anything down. Needless to say, I spilled WATER on myself. Nooooo!!! Lol! And then my TOES were starting to really hurt so I ended my chores ASAP, squealed and whined at the same time, and then RAN into the house. lol
ONE MORE NIGHT TO GO!!! And tomorrow it is supposed to reach 20 degrees. I have NEVER before been like, “20 degrees???? YAAAAAAAY!!!!” Until now!! XD

        • K

Glad your animals made it. Please tell me you did not get frostbite, from the water spill. Current temp here -6 degrees.

          • HecatesMoon

Thanks, K! No, I managed it alright. I got into the coop FAST and tried to do as much as I could staying near the lamps. It didn’t take much time to feel it though so I scooted real quick. It definitely scared me pretty good though!
How much longer do you have to wait this out??

          • K

Some warming coming Wednesday. Just lost my well, something froze, current temp. -12. Guess I will see how prepared I am.

          • HecatesMoon

            Oh no…. Be safe!!!!

          • K

Thank-you, I will just handle this like a dry run, for what many of us think is coming.

  • Richard

Another tour de force, Michael. I love your new style: just the presentation of the grim facts… and letting us decide for ourselves how we feel about it. We feel much worse when we’re not being “told” how to feel – believe me.

Great, great stuff. If you keep this up, you will become one of America’s greatest writers – and I’m not kidding. You are already developing a fascinating literary style of your own and I predict that at this rate you will become a major commentator within five years. See if I’m wrong!

    • michel

the cold system over the states is creating warm weather in europe, we just had the warmest first day’s in january ever.

    • MichaelfromTheEconomicCollapse

Thank you for the kind words. But I am not trying to achieve fame and glory for myself. I am just trying to do the best that I can with what I have, and I am very thankful that God has opened up a door for me to write these articles. Hopefully He is pleased with them.

  • Cynicalguy42

Anyone heard of the Medieval Warm Period?

  • Silver Garcia

I would pay to watch those two greedy/lying clowns Obama and Gore run naked today in Chicago – perhaps one of the most corrupt cities in the USA if not the Western world,

    • Steve from Ohio

You could have seen Obama running naked in Man’s Country gay bath house if you were in Chicago in the 90’s. Obama has a lifetime membership there and often went there to sell himself to older white men so he could support himself while being a nobody. They still call Obama Bathouse Barry in Chicago and those that know him when he was younger are surprised that no one knows much about him even today.

  • ConcernedAmerican

It is heartbreaking to think about the homeless that may be out in this weather. It is also heartbreaking to think about those that can not afford heat or electricity.

    • HecatesMoon

Agreed… many homeless do tend to be pretty good survivors though. That is something at least. :(

  • BruceWL

My understanding is the earth goes through warming and cooling periods. Also, doesn’t God control the weather ?

  • anonymous

There have been above average temperatures for Moscow and Siberia this winter. Australia and Argentina saw record breaking temperatures this summer. As to why it is colder in the US now, the Pacific ocean has been very warm recently, and the currents and warm air moved up to Alaska displacing the polar vortex. Hence the arctic air was pushed out of the arctic and came here. Another point is that although it has been bitterly cold in the US, we have seen very weird weather lately. For example, on Dec. 22 many East Coast cities saw record breaking high temperatures. New York hit a high of 71F. Today New York had a high of 54F. It is raining in Rutland, Vt. when it should be snowing this time of year. The weather has been wild. Clearly, the jet stream is not behaving normally. The jet stream is powered by the difference in temperature between the arctic and the tropics. Some say this mangled jet stream is the result of the Arctic heating up disproportionately to the rest of the globe in the past two decades. Since there is less of a temperature difference between the arctic and the tropics, the jet stream is more wobbly. Hence warm air can come further north, and cold air can plunge far south.

I have seen temperatures here as low as -25 degrees before. With a wind chill making it over -40 degrees. This was about Feb 5th of one year many years ago.
Temperature fluctuations are normal. We are at one of the extremes right now with temperatures of about -10 degrees.
The greatest effect of Carbon Dioxide would be an increase in temperatures averaging out all over the planet because it conducts heat and cold a lot easier than other gases.
So if you have an average increase of 6 degrees over all the planet then you might have flooding on the coast lines as the water levels increase.
Geological history indicates that Atlantic waters were at least 60 feet lower than they currently are in the past.
Something broke! I think that is where the sea between Spain and Africa came from at one time. Possible that it occurred about 11-12,000 years ago. There might have been a fresh water great lake before that. There are all kinds of villages sunken below the waves all over that area of the world.
Even Antarctica is not immune. At one point in time there were buildings and temples on that continent. Now they are buried beneath the ice. I suspect sub-arctic forests existed there at one point in time. No one really knows who inhabited that continent along the coast lines. What is amazing is beneath a half frozen lake there are buildings.
As a species, humanity is at least 200,000 years old. It seems strange our past written history only goes back about 20,000 years. And that is questionable!
I maintain that we survive a lot of weather disasters one way or another.
Where we are all vulnerable is our dependence on electricity. Our ancestors were not so centralized. They had homes that could be kept warm with several different fuel supplies. Up until WWII, Britain used coal fireplaces to heat their homes. Those bedrooms really got cold.
You are right. The Sun is mostly responsible for temperature changes on this planet. When it is good, we have prosperous warm periods. When it is bad, then we eat the prosperity from the good years.
The Amish heat with propane and natural gas. They are not dependent on electricity. They are mostly small farmers. A lot do crafts and a lot do restaurants for a living. Their children are taught trades.
I think you are right. I think we will have a very harsh winter this year. Probably be paying for it clean through August with the utility bills.
Right now after several years of intense solar activity it all folded up camp and went quiet. I suspect that is just the calm before one intense storm on the Sun. So when that occurs all this cold weather will reverse and we might even have a few days of 70 degree temperatures. All of this is in U.S. Measures. Europe measures it in Centigrade.
The real problem is high winds. If they take out the power lines then we are all in deep trouble.

  • Dimitrios Kirkos

The global warming theory predicts a weakening of the gulfstream, which will REDUCE temperatures in both sides of the Atlantic. If you confuse local current temperature with global average temperature, you are either a complete idiot or you have an agenda.

    • Kim

      Excellent, I agree.

    • Malcolm Reynolds

And of course, if you’re a global warming theorist that manipulates your data to match your preconceived notions you are a complete idiot with an agenda. Then there are the predictions and models that all failed to predict the past decade.

  • Syrin

The US set over 27,000 record colds in the past 6 months alone. Last year saw the coldest temperature ever recorded on earth and the coldest temp ever recorded in the northern hemisphere. Arctic ice is at record thickness and volume. Global frauders are trapped in ice in the Antarctic during the SUMMER there, and it’s snowing in the middle of the summer in Australia. The average temperature in Alaska has decreased 3 degrees over the past decade, a temperature change of epic magnitude according to Spotted Al Bore. We are entering an era of cooling which is actually a greater threat to humanity than warming. NOTHING the global frauders predicted has come true, their climate models are off by 3000% when historic data is entered, and I could go on for pages. This is a religion, a false prophet, and a scheme to take more away from citizens. The EPA is set to unleash a whole slew of economy killing regulations based on this fraud.

    • Gay Veteran

perhaps someone will explain why the northern most range of species is moving further and further north

  • Tired Of Political Sheep

Ignorance is saying “there is no climate change” in the face of constant weather extremes.

    • MichaelfromTheEconomicCollapse

In the article, I stated that the climate has always been changing.

And those changes are going to become even more dramatic.

But to believe that these changes are being caused by carbon dioxide emissions caused by human activity is to ignore the evidence.

      • Graham

Your last paragraph carries an extremely powerful meaning. A meaning that many have not yet fully grasped.

The alternate media has empowered many readers, but one should remain prudent, as it too has now been very heavily infiltrated.

I believe in most cases, you are wise enough to see beyond what amounts to completely irrational propaganda.

It is the sum of the parts that make the whole, by understanding the parts, the whole becomes apparent.

Too many are drawn in by what looks to be all the relevant parts, because “official” reports purposely fail to cover other critical benchmarks and/or measures.

Global “cooling” has been a reality for 15-16 years. The plan is too catch many out unprepared! As the usual double edged sword, they can also hike taxation by making people feel “guilty” and responsible for a mess that is basically an illusion.

In our universe, galaxy and solar system, we have cycles, the effects of which can vary greatly. If there was a genuine carbon dioxide problem, why do they allow the destruction of so much forestry on a global scale? Doesn’t add up, or does it?

  • todd

AL Gore almost had it right.
He just just on the wrong algorithm (ALGORE-Rhythm.)

  • Kim

I don’t care much for Al Gore. I did watch Inconvenient Truth and I’ll admit, I liked it.

My thoughts are: climate change is real and poses a real danger to the earth. I also believe that climate change is spurred on by human activity, namely the burning of refined liquid hydrocarbons. You cannot dump that much pollution into the atmosphere, for decades, and expect it will not have an impact.

Also, there is a difference between weather and overall, worldwide climate trends.

If you don’t like the weather in the east, come to Oregon. It’s almost spring like here. We had a cold November, but now we are dealing with rain on Mt Hood- they haven’t even opened Mt Hood Meadows yet and Ski Bowl is using snow machines. Yesterday it was sunny and nice from the mountains to the coast. It was like that all December and so far this month.

Lastly. We don’t know enough about climate itself to draw unequivocal conclusions either way.

  • John T

Here in the UK a few years ago, there was a tv documentry called “the great climate change swindle” it was only shown once and they have never allowed it back on, it kind of sums up the way I feel about it and I highly recommend everyone looks it up on you tube. They made every school kid in the country watch Al Gore’s film, but nobody was going to be allowed to see the counter argument.

  • Tatiana Covington

When the air’s oxygen and nitrogen both liquify, then you’ll know that the warming has really gotten bad!

  • rkb100100

Why isn’t Al Gore over in China or India with this crap?

    • rkb100100

Correction – India, China and the Middle East are probably pay Al Gore to peddle this crap over here to cripple the country

  • Jason7189

I feel it’s directly related to Kerry/Obama’s push, to divide Israel and Jerusalem. As we push towards April and the end of the scheduled peace talks, things will get worse, if this US Administration continues their agenda.

Zechariah 12:3 ” And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the
people of the earth be gathered together against it.”

Joel 3:2 “I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.”

Genesis 12:3 “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

    • MichaelfromTheEconomicCollapse

      Very interesting point.

Others believe that if the land of Israel gets physically divided that the United States itself will get physically divided.

    • Gay Veteran

sorry, but if the Israeli government wants to continue stealing Palestinian land then they can do so without $ and arms from us

  • krinks

The funniest part is the AGW proponents aren’t effected one but when the evidence doesn’t go their way.

    • Jim Davis

Nope. No matter what happens they always claim it to be evidence supporting their view. This is mass-schizophrenia. From wikipedia:

Schizophrenia (/ˌskɪtsɵˈfrɛniə/ or /ˌskɪtsɵˈfriːniə/) is a mental disorder characterized by a breakdown of thought processes and by impaired emotional responses.[1] Common symptoms include delusions, such as paranoid beliefs; hallucinations; disorganized thinking; and negative symptoms, such as blunted affect and avolition.

  • Michael

I would have to disagree with obama being born in the united states, all the evidence points that way.

    • Michael

that he was born in africa that is.

  • hippybiker

Man, Bear, Pig Al Gore is a blithering idiot.
On another note…Does the term Nuclear Winter come to mind? Could Fukishima have anything to do with our really cold weather? Food for thought.

    • Malcolm Reynolds

Since nuclear winter is a winter caused by “lots” of nuclear devices blowing mass quantities of debris into the air and diminishing the sunlight reaching Earth, NO, it doesn’t.

  • John Willow

Then Al Gore will force 7 billion people to live in megacities while the elite ones (who Gary worships) will purchase all of the natural resources while the future of civilization is a mirror to an overcrowded Shangai…all for “saving global warming”.

  • lawofeffect

What a flipping idiot to think that this kind of stuff negates the fact of global warming. I got news for you buddy, our little spot on the globe may be the entire “world” to you but just because we are having a cold spell in our neck of the woods đoesnt mean that record breaking heat isn’t happening elsewhere on the planet.

By the way, a meteorologist is not a climate scientist.

    Wake up and get smart.

    • Malcolm Reynolds

LOL, Neither are geologists, physicists or chemists. And under the theory of globullcrap warming, CO2 traps the heat blah blah blah. So if the CO2 is still going up (and still at negligible levels mind you) , why has the past decade+ been cooling?
Wake up and don’t give up your freedom.

  • piccadillybabe

Saturday morning, it was 19 below zero and today, it was 52 degrees here in the Northeast, balmy and raining to beat the band. I really don’t think anyone knows what is going on. Some say, it is geoengineered. It was a really nice time (sarcasm) for our legislature to cut off UI benefits to millions.

  • karryokie

Can you imagine anyone declaring that Obama was born in the USA despite no one claiming the 10K reward for anyone who could prove that they were present at such birth?

  • Maya Hugh-Jass

The Earth has been around for a few Billion years… you don’t think we’ve had fluctuations in the weather before? You think this is cold – how cold do you think it was during the last ICE AGE?

  • Tatiana Covington

It’s warming so fast, before you know it there’ll be coconuts from Greenland.

  • barry1817

and the polar vortex that is the new liberal wet dream was also cited back in the 70’s but that was for global cooling

  • bi

Well, it may be freezing cold in the US, but in Eastern Europe, we have one of the warmest and most dry winters I’ve ever seen. Temperatures this week have been between 9 and 1 degree Celsius (above freezing).

  • charles

Al Gore will be sunning himself some where since he knows where all the warming is .

  • You did not read it wrong. Tuesday will be the worst for me, possibly
-20 degrees. My pipes are wrapped, but I do not know if they can handle
that. As you close off areas, watch that the pipes in those areas do not
freeze. Most are not ready for this level of cold. While you are taking
care of everything else, do not forget to take care of yourself.

  • austin

    Wow you are dumb.
#1 yes we need co2 but when the concentration is TOO HIGH there are many consequences such as acid rain = ocean acidification. Kills sea life, raises temp, list goes on.
#2 its called GLOBAL warming, after all. Not AAmerican warming. Have you looked at temps in Australia and South america? Yea. Record highs, just like the summer time here, not to mention the unprecidented droughts.
#3 you got one thing right. The world is changing. What you seem to overlook (or pretend is t real) is that 95% of scientists agree it has had human influence.. yes, the scientists are all out to make you buy different light bulbs and drive small cars. Get over it. Use whatever term you want, global warming, climate change, its all part of the same system. As is our precious rescources. When we run out of oil and fresh water youll wish those ecofascists didnt all leave to their homesteads

  • arglebargle

Michael, the climate is changing, and crazy cold goes along with that. Don’t be part of the problem, man. Stop harping on terminology and mistakes other people made when talking about it. So Al Gore was wrong. Get over it, people.

  • Jmarc

This is an uneducated response to the recent cold weather. Look at a graph charting the amount of arctic sea ice and you will find out that the square miles of sea ice are decreasing per year on average. The cold weather is a result of the polar jet streams degrading – as a result of global warming – releasing polar air across the northern hemisphere. As a result, the poles are getting much warmer. Please don’t get fooled by this article a remember that global warming is still a real threat.

  • Irv Spielberg

    Gore’s Global Warming Secret

You’ll never guess what initially inspired Al Gore’s “temperature” mania – the one that’s raised our tempers.
Well, Gore is from Tennessee where you can hear Bible belt preachers warning about “Hell fire” in the next life.

And Gore, concerned about this life, is surrounded by those who also
know about the prediction in Revelation (chapter 16) of the coming time
when a change in the sun will result in humans being “scorched with
    great heat”!
It wouldn’t be convenient if folks were to discover
that Gore, a liberal, was influenced by the handbook closely associated
    with Christian fundamentalists!
    If Tennessee fundy preachers
could look at the same predictions-packed apocalyptic book and stretch
forward in time some future events, Gore could surely do the same thing
and stretch forward the “great heat” and turn it into cold cash.

All of us are well aware of the incredible influence that the
Gore-orrhea plague has had on the whole world including the White House!
But Gore’s overlooked another Bible verse which says that “there is nothing hid that shall not be revealed.”
The real “inconvenient truth” is that the SS Al Gore is now stuck in ice – and what we need is a Gorebreaker!

  • Tim Pope

There have been countless peer-reviewed scientific papers published citing the irrefutable evidence that the sun and its seasons effect climate change, not CO2 emissions. With that said, we are entering the sun’s autumn, with its winter season coming in a number of decades. What America and the world will soon realize is that “global warming”, much like the so-called “war on terror” and the illegal and unconstitutional graduated income tax, is merely another ruse fomented for the purpose of transferring the wealth of the middle class. It’s Marxism, folks, which always leads to social democracy, which always leads to communism. The destruction of the middle class is key to the agenda of erecting a communist state upon the ashes of the Old Republic.

  • fghrt

I’m not sure whether to believe in global warming or not. the before & after photos of northern hemisphere show smaller glaciers but i need to look up southern hemisphere glaciers
