Media Attacks Republican Candidate For Congress For Asking Hard Questions About The Las Vegas Shooting

I didn’t expect that I would be getting “the Trump treatment” this early in the campaign.  Last week, I wrote an article about the Las Vegas shooting that posed 16 questions that I did not feel were being addressed by the mainstream media adequately enough.  That article was picked up by Zero Hedge, and it has now been read more than 1.6 million times.  All along, I have never claimed to know exactly what happened in Las Vegas.  But I feel very strongly that there is nothing wrong with asking questions.  In the old days, that is what real journalists would actually do.  Unfortunately, the art of critical thinking has almost entirely disappeared from the field of journalism, and so it is up to us in the alternative media to ask the hard questions that “professional journalists” used to pursue.

The emails have been pouring in from many others that also have serious questions about what happened in Las Vegas, but according to the Idaho Statesman, it was improper for me to ever raise any of these questions at all…

A Republican candidate for Idaho’s District 1 Congressional seat has drawn attention and criticism after promoting several unfounded theories on his blog about the Las Vegas shooting that left 59 dead and more than 500 injured on Sunday night.

Michael Snyder, a conservative author who lives in Bonners Ferry, posted a entry on his blog “The Economic Collapse” on Tuesday posing “16 unanswered questions about the Las Vegas shooting that the mainstream media doesn’t want to talk about.” He has also posted two entries about the shooter, claiming he may have been an anti-Trump activist with ties to antifacist organizations, among other claims.

Following that article in the Statesman, I received several hateful emails about my article on the Las Vegas shooting.  For example, one individual called me “a nut” that needs “help”…

You’re a nut. Not the good kind. Get help.

Another email suggested that I should do anything else rather than run for public office…

You are obviously completely insane.

Please don’t run for any public office.

Go apply to be a manager at AppleBee’s. Go work as an assistant manager at a Tire Depot.

Do anything. But please don’t ever run for any kind of public office or put any more of your nonsense in the universe. It’s not helping anyone or anything.

And in yet another email, I was told that I am not wanted in Idaho…

You are too ******* crazy even for northern Idaho.

I know that you and your type consider Idaho an easy target, a fat pigeon for your to make an easy way. But you are not wanted here.

Of course the overwhelming majority of the emails that I have been receiving have been extremely supportive.  Like me, most people out there have very serious questions about what happened in Las Vegas, and so many have encouraged me for being courageous enough to ask questions that other politicians would never dare to ask.

At the heart of the Idaho Statesman’s criticism of me was the fact that I suggested that Stephen Paddock may not have acted alone.  And it turns out that Clark Country Sheriff Joseph Lombardo agrees with me.  During a press conference on Wednesday, Lombardo publicly stated that Paddock almost certainly “had to have help at some point”

“You got to make the assumption he had to have help at some point, and we want to insure that’s the answer. Maybe he’s a super guy, super hero–not a hero, super–I won’t use the word. Maybe he’s super — that was working out this out on his own, but it will be hard for me to believe that.”

He also said, “Here’s the reason why, put one and one–two and two together, another residence in Reno with firearms, okay, electronics and everything else associated with larger amounts of ammo, a place in Mesquite, we know he had a girlfriend. Do you think this is all self-facing individual without talking to somebody, it was sequestered amongst himself. Come on focus folks these type of investigations have been occurring in the last few years and we have to investigate that.”

So perhaps my questions are not so “unfounded” after all, eh?

The truth is that the Idaho Statesman owes me an apology.  But I am not expecting one, because they have a very long history of treating conservatives very unfairly.

Of course some of the questions that I posed in my original article have now been answered.  For example, some information about what was in the written note that Paddock left in his room has now been released to the public

A note found in the hotel room of the man who shot into a crowd  from his perch in a Las Vegas high-rise included hand-written calculations about where he needed to aim to maximize his accuracy and kill as many people as possible.

In an interview airing Sunday on “60 Minutes,” three police officers who stormed Stephen Paddock’s hotel room in the Mandalay Bay hotel tell correspondent Bill Whitaker new details about the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history. The officers were the first to see Paddock’s body and the arsenal of weapons and ammunition he had stockpiled.

That is part of the process of journalism.  We knew that there was a note, and millions of us wanted to know what was in it, and so I asked the question.

Now we at least have part of the answer, and that is a good thing.

And guess what?  Law enforcement authorities are acknowledging that they still don’t have all of the answers about this case either, and so they are reaching out to the public for help

Baffled police and FBI agents, still lacking a clear motive for the Las Vegas massacre of 58 people by a lone gunman five days ago, appealed to the public on Friday to come forward with any information that might help solve the mystery.

Clark County Undersheriff Kevin McMahill said investigators have, to no avail, run down more than 1,000 leads seeking clues to what drove a 64-year-old wealthy retiree with a penchant for gambling to carry out the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

I greatly applaud law enforcement authorities for reaching out to the public like this.  Perhaps if we all keep asking questions and if we all work together, maybe we can start to put the pieces of the puzzle together.

As for the Idaho Statesman, shame on them for criticizing my search for answers.  If I am fortunate enough to be elected to Congress, I will always ask the hard questions, and I will always work very hard to get answers for the people that I am representing.

Since I am the most conservative candidate in this race, the Idaho Statesman would rather see anyone else win rather than me.  In fact, I think that they would rather see a steaming pile of garbage take this seat rather than me.  So if you would like to help me stick it to the Idaho Statesman, you can contribute to the campaign right here.

When I first entered this race, I was naive enough to actually believe that the mainstream media would not treat me like they do President Trump and other true conservatives.  But the good news is that they would never even be criticizing me at all if we weren’t gaining so much traction with the voters, and next May we are going to shock the entire Idaho political establishment by pulling off a stunning victory.

Michael Snyder is a Republican candidate for Congress in Idaho’s First Congressional District, and you can learn how you can get involved in the campaign on his official website. His new book entitled “Living A Life That Really Matters” is available in paperback and for the Kindle on Amazon.com.

In regards to the ’16 Questions’ article, great read and all valid questions, and yea I wouldn’t count on an apology from the Idaho Statesman. It will rain gold Kruggerrands before one would get an apology from people of that ilk.

‘he may have been an anti-Trump activist with ties to antifacist organizations’

In my opinion, based on the plethora of analyses I have read, the answer to that is absolutely not. And related, the whole ‘he converted to Islam recently’ is also completely false which leads to ‘ISIS’ had nothing to do with it.

Now, if I may, question 17. Was Paddock actually the shooter? I doubt it. This has deeply covert, black ops intelligence services (agents and/or assets of the so-called Deep State that is most certainly operating against Trump in every way possible) false flag written all over it. In fact, I surmise that Paddock himself was was a black ops agent or asset. He has exactly zero run ins with any police department or law enforcement agency his entire life, not even so much as a speeding ticket we are being told. Not a single one of these agencies/departments has any type of info about him. Virtually impossible feat, given his age. Reported 27 different residences throughout his life. Multiple residences currently, with large caches of weapons, ammo, a bomb making chemicals belong to him. Multiple trips to and from the Middle East. Apparently no detectable internet foot print, another virtual impossibility this day and age. For all intents and purposes, he is a ghost. And there is one type of person who can fit in all these aspects. A man involved with deeply covert, black operations, whose identity has essentially been scrubbed from existence. I say he was point man on some Fast & Furious weapons trafficking mess, and something went horribly wrong that he was unaware of being planned, such as his buyers had this event planned, set up the weapons transfer, killed him, did the shooting (remember, multiple shooters, and that is undeniable at this point), or his handlers hatched the plan. Either way, he is looking very much like a set up patsy in this.
Now anybody with an open mind who is still reading this will probably be asking why. Anyone’s guess, as the Power Brokers behind the scenes are very sick people who strive off of death and misery. Further racial tensions is one option and attack presumably Trump supporters & NRA members, being it was a country music festival, fans of which are generally conservative gun owners. Just look at some responses too this. Things along the lines ‘who cares, they voted for Trump/support the NRA/are white people’ and various other forms of sick and twisted mind sets. Also, a convenient reason to ban Bump-stock, The Hearing Protection Act (fully legalizing suppressors) was on the table being debated, and probable hundreds of other reason evil people would commit evils. Maybe they just wanted to kill people, for no political reason, they just wanted death & misery. Maybe as some form of distraction to get people fixated on this, while some sinister plans are being enacted. Maybe to get people to call for more gun control. Maybe to get people to go along with more laws that claim to keep us safe, but only serve to strip away more of our precious liberties. The options and possibilities are literally endless. But the only thing I feel completely certain on, is Paddock was not the shooter. but had to be eliminated for whatever reason, since ‘dead men tell no tales.’

Michael, don’t let it trouble you, those nasty e-mails, let the Blinds lead the Blinds…

    • Mi¢haeI, was that silly comment really worth the embarrassment of creating a whole new fake disqus account?

It’s more transparent than saran wrap.

      • Resistance Isn’t Always Futile

        lol good catch

I suspect we have here a suicide by cop.
Only he decided to suicide himself instead.
Was he on some kind of religious vendetta?
I doubt that he even knows the tenants of what Muslims are all about.
How he got the weapons in is anyone’s guess. I think he used bellboys to do it.
Of course they are used to heavy baggage.
Especially if a wealthy client is moving in or showing signs of doing so. SO with adequate tips the bellboys most likely minded their own business. No one suspected what was really going on.
I also suspect he might have had a terminal cancer or other illness that ends in a lot of pain. Instead he decided to end it before it got to that stage. Why he decided to take 59 people with him and put a whole bunch more in the hospital is any one’s guess. That theory needs to be checked out. There have to be doctor records and hospital records somewhere if that is the case.
If it was a black ops someone used post hypnotics to program him to do it. Signs of such an ops are hard to detect especially if it was done with drugs that disappear from the victim’s system overnight.
There is no way to prove that at this point in time. Sometimes paranoid is best where security is concerned.
If they did it with him, then they probably plan to do it again and fairly soon.
The motive is to disarm the country.
I hate to say it but it is likely to work.
It won’t work where a lot of people have concealed carry permits and carry weapons with them everywhere. That could be anyone carrying large amounts of cash for one reason or another and could be anywhere in the United States.
These are usually well screened individuals trained in the use of firearms.
The problem with cash in today’s legal world is Congress has given the police the right to be thieves. When a policeman does not have to prove guilt in a court of law and they take someone’s money that is theft. One of these days they will take the money from the wrong individual and a lot of police will lose their lives. That is the problem with legal theft. Action equals reaction in some minority cases. Especially if the people involved feel wronged strongly enough.
Modern Mafia types do not carry money. They have other means of making the money disappear. So the entire drug law enforcement is often not even realistic.
This guy was disposing of his money in the casinos. That leads me to believe something was seriously wrong with his physical health.
The problem with journalism today and other media is the question: Who owns them? This was not a problem until about the last 50 years or so.
Gradually they have become the American equivalent of the Moscow kind of news directed and controlled.
Michael, you are moving into a hornet’s nest of corruption and huge amounts of money willing and able to buy you off if that is possible. If it is not possible, they will find ways to eliminate the problem. Check your history in the last 100 years if you do not believe me.
I worked in production at a daily newspaper for 41 years. I personally put the type on the pages at one point in time. It gets really disgusting after a while. I retired about a year early because I could not see hanging around while they made the place into a sweat shop. It was way beyond correcting at that point in time.

    Michael

    Keep your chin up.

The hateful, intolerant comments directed to you by a bunch of brain dead, mindless, sheeple who are incapable of thinking for themselves, and enjoy a steady diet of the koolaide given them by the pied piper of propaganda, have no comprehension about reality, hate the Bible, and are impatiently waiting the arrival of the promised socialist eutopia, which will result in bondage and loss of freedom.

Sadly, i am willing to bet that many of these who spewed their hateful, intolerant , diatribes on you, possess degrees from the highest(liberal) institutions of learning, or have attended such universities.

As I said, I grew up in a 5 college area, the vast overwhelming majority of people there possess a plethora of degrees, but could not think themselves out of a paper bag, and the same people that actually believe obummer, hitlery and the likes of Sanders would actually be good for the long term health of this nation, and the preservation of Liberty!!!!!

These are the same hypocritical lunatics that criticize Christians for being so “intolerant”. Yet, they are role models for intolerance, because they do not tolerate anything that challenges their small minds.

I grew up in Hampshire county, Massachusetts, surrounded by liberal, progressive, sheeple ” haters” that think like this who are anti self defense, blindly trust whatever the media tells them, and calls all ” nuts” who bring up facts that challenge their small minds, to the fact that is in fact conspiracies in action in this nation.

Keep your head up, and ignore all the empty, mindless talking heads.

    • 4K

More truthfully both sides tend to be intolerant—just in different areas. Liberals would have a socialist “utopia” and outlaw more guns and possibly force more LGB T rights onto everyone and on the other hand conservative evangelicals would legislate in a theocratic direction and pas [bad word] laws restricting moral freedom.
For the most freedom there needs to be a balance, especially on higher courts. Unfortunately humans are corrupted by greed and vote for whoever pays them. There’s not many who can resist a bribe.

  • John Anderson

Michael, keep asking the tough, obvious questions, how else does one get answers. you are the best

  • You speak of integrity in journalism, but you lack precisely that.

The questions you asked would not pass even a first year journalism’s ethics class. The questions you asked were written in what used to be called “Yellow Journalism”. It’s akin to writing an article about someone asking if he still beats his wife, when in fact no such allegation has been made.

You wanted SO very badly for this gun nut to not be yet another lone white male with an arsenal, so you tried to force a false narrative from the start hoping that would be all anyone would compare it to. In a word, you are PRECISELY as DISHONEST as the worst kind of politician.

Let’s see how you like the treatment you gave this [dead] guy. I’m going to do to you what you did to him, the difference being that I don’t have an agenda other than to stop you from lying so easily in the future…

Why is Mi¢haeI $nyder not cranking out his usual two dozen conspiracy theory posts per week lately? Well, he likes to tell us that he is running for Congress, but we all know that while Democrats have mistresses on the side, Republicans often have underage boytoys… who among us can say that every young boy in his town has been coming home on time? I certainly cannot say so, and until we get an accurate count from all of the parents of all the boys near him, we really just can’t know. Why is the accurate count from the boys’ parents not been made public yet? What is there to hide? How many police have been paid off to keep this information so very secret? Does Mi¢haeI’s wife know any of the sordid details? Is she taking antiretrovirals to protect her from these secret encounters? There, I’m done doing what you do for a living.

Before anyone accuses me of thinking any of the above nonsense is true, NO, I DON’T. I am just imitating Mi¢haeI’s yellow journalism asking extremely pointed and unproven questions which exist to poison the journalistic well. It’s disgusting, it’s sleazy, and it’s what YOU seem to find acceptable.

Putting aside how irresponsible it was to even “demand” in-depth answers just mere hours after the event, it was MORE irresponsible to put your exceedingly biased spin out on this murderer as a liberal when not one singular thing we knew about him screamed anything but Republican.

The reason you lose your political dreams will not be due to funding, but due to your blatant dishonesty. Voters only like a certain level of sleaze, Mi¢haeI. You’ve surpassed it.

    • AWM

SPOT ON Carrie. Thank you for posting.

    • Mr.Cipher

We’ll put you in the maybe category supporting Mike.

      • lol.

Well, he certainly has mastered the sleazy, money-grubbing aspects of politics. And he’s not exactly all too concerned about truth. Frankly, it’s perhaps the lack of disturbing underage paramours that keeps me on the fence about this guy. I mean, when I support a politician, I like to know he’s not just a PINO (politician in name only).

        • Guest

You clearly have very serious psychological problems, Carrie. I’ve read enough of your comments here and at the author’s other main blog to make that assessment of you.

    • Paul Patriot

“You wanted SO very badly for this gun nut to not be yet another lone white male with an arsenal, so you tried to force a false narrative from the start hoping that would be all anyone would compare it to. In a word, you are PRECISELY as DISHONEST as the worst kind of politician.”

And you so badly want it to be a lone white make “gun nut” that you are not listening to facts and using common sense in the “journalism” that is being presented as fact.

The “journalism” that you criticize…….Is that the same journalism that keeps changing the facts? The motive keeps changing, the number of guns he has keeps changing, “journalist” reported “he” brought almost 39 rifles with him….nonsense!!!!

We here Isis take responsibility, then its not….on and on and on.
Just confused, constantly changing reports from “journalists”

The media wants mindless sheeple to be!lieve this was a lone white man who was a pilot, had access to an airplane… wasn’t smart enough to fly an airplane into the crowd and do far more damage….rather chose to lug thousands of rounds of ammo several dozen “assault rifles” and “evil” “high capacity magazines” up to a hotel room.

      Yeah, that’s great journalism????????????????

  • George

Michael, overall the mainstream media no longer provides quality professional journalism as you pointed out. This is not hard to understand. An on-line article http://www.businessinsider.com/these-6-corporations-control-90-of-the-media-in-america-2012-6 titled These 6 Corporations Control 90% Of The Media In America by Ashley Lutz dated Jun. 14, 2012 states (brackets are my annotations for clarity) gives light:

This infographic created by Jason at Frugal Dad shows that almost all media comes from the same six sources. That’s consolidated from 50 companies back in 1983…. Here’s the graphic:

[1] GE Notable Properties: Comcast, NBC, Universal Pictures, Focus Features
[2] NEWSCORP Notable Properties: Fox, Wall Street Journal, New York Post
[3] DISNEY Notable Properties: ABC, ESPN, Pixar, Miramax, Marvel Studios
[4] VIACOM Notable Properties: MTV, Nick Jr, BET, CMT, Paramount Pictures
[5] TIME WARNER Notable Properties: CNN, HBO, Time, Warner Bros
[6] CBS Notable Properties: Showtime, Smithsonian Channel, NFL.com, Jeopardy, 60 Minutes

232 Media Executives control the information diet of 277 million Americans
    That’s 1 media exec to 850,000 subscribers

Those 232 media executives answer to 6 bosses. http://www.pbs.org/independentlens/democracyondeadline/mediaownership.html clarified it further:

    Who Owns the Media?

With the country’s widest disseminators of news, commentary and ideas firmly entrenched among a small number of the world’s wealthiest corporations, it may not be surprising that their news and commentary is limited to an unrepresentative narrow spectrum of politics. – Ben Bagdikian, former dean of the Graduate School of Journalism, UC Berkeley

Like all reliable watchdogs, the media are expected to bark, but when
its many-faceted voice is owned by a small number of corporate masters,
concerns about its willingness to keep barking arise.

The trend of media conglomeration has been steady. In 1983, 50
corporations controlled most of the American media, including magazines,
books, music, news feeds, newspapers, movies, radio and television. By
1992 that number had dropped by half. By 2000, six corporations had
ownership of most media, and today five dominate the industry: Time
Warner, Disney, Murdoch’s News Corporation, Bertelsmann of Germany and
Viacom. With markets branching rapidly into international territories,
these few companies are increasingly responsible for deciding what
information is shared around the world. ….

What we should be most concerned about, Bagdikian says, is the narrowing of choices, because that removes from voters the full spectrum of views and information with which to choose its government—a dangerous trend that threatens democracy itself.

Basically, 6 companies own news agencies, celebrities, professional athletes, and etc., which may explain the uniformity of their politicized, coordinated agendas Also, please remember that America did speak during the 2016 election. The Donald outdid the Hillary, election maps by county showed nearly all the US a uniform red for the Donald.

You are in a very conservative state, and similar to the opposition attempting to sway you to quit, similar to the opposition in Nehemiah (See book of Nehemiah in the Bible).

Christ faced opposition from people similar to those you are facing. He had this to say, You are of your father, the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks on his own; for he is a liar, and its father.” (John 8:44).

We know who the opposition is, and this is why they are incapable of expressing the truth. Thus, they criticize any who do not agree with their assumptions. Thus, I would not put any weight into what they say, including the statements of those who are trolling you. It is of no wonder:

You were made alive when you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the children of disobedience. Ephesians 2:1-2

That prince of the power of the air is none other than Satan. Those who are still dead in their transgressions and sins walk according to the course of this world We know the power of the air includes most of the current mainstream media.

However, I have confidence in your succeeding for the office you are running for.

Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the LORD’s Law. On his Law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. Whatever he does shall prosper. Psalms 1:1-3

The statement above is for all believers in G-d to claim. As a tree is not concerned about the heat and austere weather, it continues to be plugged in to the source of life, the streams of water.

Don’t be concerned about the opposition. Keep plugging away, and G-d will take care of the rest.
