We were born a nation of people who were reliant upon God and self, as empowered by him. Now we have become infants. And, in those states and locals where local residents have tried to take action and clean up, they have been stopped or hindered by the government. Governments cannot and will not fix such catastrophes. If it can be fixed, it will have to be fixed by private enterprise. Pay enough money, and someone will come up with the solution. I don't think BP set out to commit corporacide. But rather than stay out of the way, the US is shaking them down for money that needs to be spent on sealing the leak, not paying victims. There is time for that when the immediate threat is dealt with. It will behove the oil industry at large to pool its collective resources and knowledge, and work together to stop this, or they all with suffer along with nature. (Don't forget that when New Orleans could not get drinking water after Katrina, the government failed. Walmart succeeded.)
