Here They Come For Your Money – Dozens Of States Are Raising Taxes In 2011

You didn’t think that state governments would rack up all of this debt without eventually coming after your money, did you?  In 2011, dozens of U.S. states are either implementing tax increases that have already been passed or are debating new tax increases that have recently been proposed.  In most states, the actual state income tax is not being raised.  State politicians have learned that voters really tend to get angry when that happens.  Rather, our politicians on the state level are looking for taxes and fees that won’t be “noticed” that they can raise.  For example, cigarette taxes, alcohol taxes, gas taxes, carbonated beverage taxes and phone taxes get raised a lot because the voters do not pay them directly to the government and typically they do not get noticed as much.  Another huge area where state politicians love to raise money is through various “fees”.  For instance, millions of Americans have noticed that car registration fees and license fees have absolutely soared in recent years.  Instead of our politicians coming at us with one big, huge tax increase that we would surely notice, they are hitting us with dozens of smaller tax hikes and fee increases that they are hoping we will not get upset about.  The truth is that the average American pays literally dozens of different kinds of taxes each year, and it still isn’t nearly enough to cover the horrific debts that our politicians have piled up. Unfortunately, Obamacare Is Not Going To Be Repealed In 2010, It Is Not Going To Be Repealed In 2011 And There Is A Good Chance That It May Never Be Repealed

Right now the mainstream media is paying a lot of attention to the effort by Republicans in the House of Representatives to repeal the health care reform law that Barack Obama and the Democrats crammed down the throats of the American people during the last session of Congress.  House Republicans are calling their legislation the “Repealing the Job-Killing Health Care Law Act”, and the House of Representatives is expected to pass the legislation on January 12th.  However, there are two huge problems.  One is that Democrats control the U.S. Senate and they have declared that there is not a chance in the world that a repeal of the health care reform law will get through them.  Secondly, even if a repeal of the health care law did somehow magically get to Barack Obama’s desk, he has sworn that he would veto it.  So unfortunately, Obamacare is not going to be repealed any time soon. The Debt Ceiling Debate Really Doesn’t Matter – Either Way U.S. Government Finances Are Going To Crash

Congratulations America, you are now 14 trillion dollars in debt.  The U.S. national debt is now more than 14 times larger than it was just 30 short years ago.  The federal government is literally drowning in debt.  Now some members of Congress are actually debating whether we should raise the debt ceiling again.  At the moment, the U.S. government debt ceiling is is set at $14.294 trillion, and considering the fact that the U.S. government is borrowing approximately 2.63 million more dollars every single minute, that cap will be reached very quickly.  The U.S. Congress has raised the federal debt ceiling six times in just the past three years, so you would think that raising it again would not be that big of a deal for our debt-addicted politicians.  But this past November a significant number of Tea Party candidates were elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, and they are eager to prove that they are serious about fiscal responsibility. 9 Reasons Why The START Treaty Must Be Stopped

As the U.S. military continues to waste an enormous amount of energy and resources patrolling the streets of Iraqi cities and digging goat herders out of the caves of Afghanistan, a very real threat to the national security of the United States is developing and very few people even seem concerned about it.  It is called the START Treaty, and Barack Obama is desperately trying to ramrod it through the lame duck session of Congress.  Barack Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev agreed to the terms of the treaty back in April, and two-thirds of the U.S. Senate must vote for it in order for the treaty to become law.  So what is so bad about the treaty?  Well, for starters, it almost totally defangs the U.S. strategic nuclear arsenal that has protected us for the past six decades, it puts serious restrictions on the ability of the United States to develop any kind of missile defense and it puts the U.S. military at a very significant strategic disadvantage. Will The Obama Tax Cut Deal Save The Economy? NO!!

All over Washington D.C., top Republicans and Obama administration officials are running around declaring that the tax cut deal that was just passed will save the U.S. economy. But is this even partially true? Of course not! Mostly, what the “tax cut deal” does is keep tax rates exactly where they already are. Now, many of us are extremely thankful that we will not be paying higher taxes, but the truth is that if these tax cuts were going to “save the economy” they would already be saving it. Yes, this tax cut deal will provide a minor short-term stimulus to the economy, but it will also add $858 billion (some say closer to $1 trillion) to the projected federal budget deficits over the next two years. You see, this tax cut deal contained “all candy and no spinach”. In other words, the tax cuts were not accompanied by corresponding spending cuts, and that is going to lead to big trouble in the long run. (Read More...)

Obama’s Mistakes: 12 Examples That Show That Just About Everything That Barack Obama Tries To Do Turns Out Badly

Why does it seem like virtually everything that Barack Obama tries to do turns out badly?  There is a reason why his approval rating has fallen so precipitously.  Whether you agree with his policies or not, it is getting hard to deny that he is having a really hard time getting anything done right.  Health care reform was a total disaster, the economy continues to get worse, foreign policy is an unmitigated mess and faith in the federal government is at an all-time low.  Some Democrat insiders are now wondering if Barack Obama is actually losing it.  There are even whispers that Barack Obama may be challenged for the Democratic nomination in 2012.  That still seems far-fetched at this point, but without a doubt it is not just Republicans that are wondering about Barack Obama’s competence at this point. Senator Rockefeller To TSA Chief John Pistole: “I Think You’re Doing A Terrific Job”

The backlash against new TSA airport screening procedures has reached a deafening crescendo, and so you would think that the politicians in Washington D.C. would be getting the message. But so far, most of them seem to be just as supportive of the TSA as ever. For example, what did the chairman of the Senate committee overseeing air travel, Jay Rockefeller, have to say to TSA chief John Pistole during a Senate hearing on these new security procedures the other day? “I Think You’re Doing A Terrific Job.” Yes, you read that correctly. Senator Rockefeller had nothing but praise for Pistole and the new screening procedures. Apparently Rockefeller thinks that TSA officials feeling up the genitals of U.S. air travelers with the fronts of their hands is a wonderful thing. It is even being reported that in some instances TSA officials are actually reaching down the pants of men and up the skirts of women during these enhanced pat-downs. Not only is this totally criminal, but considering the fact that TSA officials do this countless times without changing their gloves it is also a serious health hazard. But most of our “leaders” in Washington D.C. continue to insist that we should stop protesting because this is all being done “for our own good”. (Read More...)

The Establishment Media Is Already Trying To Blame The Tea Party And Opponents Of The Federal Reserve For The Coming Economic Collapse

Why does it seem like major establishment news outlets come out with the exact same talking points so often?  This time, the mainstream media in both the United States and in the UK are placing blame for an economic collapse that hasn’t even happened yet on the Tea Party movement and on opponents of the Federal Reserve.  Of course it is completely and totally ridiculous to even think for a moment that the Tea Party could be responsible for our current financial problems.  The Tea Party is still basically brand new, and even though they gained a a number of seats in Congress during this past election, they still have far, far less power than the establishment Democrats or the establishment Republicans.  The notion that the Tea Party could be responsible for plunging the entire globe into a devastating economic depression is absolutely hilarious.  But that is exactly what some major mainstream media outlets are actually suggesting. The Demonization Of The Tea Party Movement

Once upon a time, news anchors at least attempted to conduct themselves in a professional manner. But on election night 2010, quite a few of the anchors on the various news networks threw all standards of professionalism right out the window and did everything they could to demonize the Tea Party movement.  As you will see below, Tea Party candidates were not just called “wacky”, “kooky” and “extremists” on Tuesday night.  On MSNBC alone, Michelle Bachmann was repeatedly asked if she was “hypnotized” as the news anchors openly laughed at her while she was being interviewed, and there was a roundtable discussion which went on for an extended period of time about how Rand Paul, by himself, was going to cause a massive worldwide economic depression.  If MSNBC even had an ounce of integrity left they would fire the whole team of anchors that covered election night, but we all know that is not going to happen.  The truth is that the establishment is scared to death of the Tea Party movement now, and the executives at these various networks will almost certainly be directing their news people to demonize prominent Tea Party politicians more than ever.
