Based On Current Trends, It Is Only A Matter Of Time Before The Gay Population In The U.S. Is Larger Than The Evangelical Population

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

LGBT March - Public DomainThe LGBT population in the United States is on the rise, and meanwhile the number of evangelicals is on the decline. For now, evangelicals still greatly outnumber those that identify as LGBT, but if current trends continue it is only a matter of time before the size of the gay population actually surpasses the size of the evangelical population. The primary reason for this is the enormous cultural shift that is taking place among our young people. Millennials are much less likely to identify as “evangelical” than the general population as a whole, but they are more than twice as likely to identify as LGBT. Unless something dramatic happens, the percentage of LGBT Americans will continue to increase and the percentage of evangelical Americans will continue to fall as older Americans slowly die off.

Many evangelicals and many that identify as LGBT will get angry when you bring up these numbers. A lot of evangelicals want to continue to believe the myth that America is still a “moral country”, but that stopped being true a long time ago. And many of those that identify as LGBT do not want to accept the fact that more people are choosing to be gay because they want to maintain the narrative that “people are born that way”.

But the numbers don’t lie. According to Gallup, the percentage of Americans that identify as LGBT has been steadily rising for years. Just check out these numbers

2012: 3.5 percent

2013: 3.6 percent

2014: 3.7 percent

2015: 3.9 percent

2016: 4.1 percent

And the numbers are much more pronounced when you look only at Millennials…

2012: 5.8 percent

2013: 6.0 percent

2014: 6.3 percent

2015: 6.7 percent

2016: 7.3 percent

As this figure continues to trend up, it won’t be very long until 10 percent of all Millennials openly identify as LGBT. And already, Millennials are about twice as likely as the rest of the population to consider themselves to be gay. The following comes from Gallup

Millennials are more than twice as likely as any other generation to identify as LGBT. In 2012, they accounted for 43% of LGBT-identified adults. As a result of their disproportionate increases in identification since then, they now account for 58%. Millennials comprise 32% of the general adult population.

But these days, it isn’t just a choice between “gay” or “straight” that we are talking about. In fact, Time Magazine reported on a survey that found that approximately one-third of all Millennials consider themselves to be somewhere between “exclusively homosexual” and “exclusively heterosexual”…

When pollsters asked Americans last year how they would identify on the Kinsey Scale—a six point rating spanning from “exclusively homosexual” to “exclusively heterosexual”—about a third of millennials pointed somewhere in the “non-binary” middle, compared to about 8% of people over the age of 45.

So the findings of that survey would suggest that there is a whole lot more same-sex attraction going on among Millennials than many of the “experts” had been thinking.

Another survey of all age groups in America discovered that “about 20 percent of the population is attracted to their own gender.” So it is important to remember that people can experience same-sex attraction and yet not identify as LGBT.

No matter what side of the debate you are on, everybody should be able to agree that more people are “coming out of the closet” than every before. And there are still many that are “in the closet”, and so a lot of surveys still typically understate the true number of gay people in society. The following comes from the Daily Beast

As the Pew Research Center notes, conventional surveys may underestimate the size of the LGBT population due to unreliable self-reporting. A team of researchers from Ohio State University and Boston University found that survey respondents were far more likely to report a non-heterosexual identity when assured of absolute anonymity than they were when interviewed using a standard public opinion method in which respondents can still be connected to their answers.

Meanwhile, the percentage of evangelical Christians in America continues to decline. Just recently I published an entire article on this phenomenon entitled “America Became A Lot Less Christian During The Presidency Of Barack Obama“, and I encourage everyone that has not seen it yet to go back and read it.

In that article, you will see that an astounding 35 percent of all Millennials now have no religious affiliation whatsoever, and only 27 percent of them attend religious services on a weekly basis.

And Millennials are much less likely to call themselves “evangelical” than the rest of the population. At this point, only 21 percent of all Millennials identify as evangelical Protestants. For older Millennials the figure is 22 percent, and for younger Millennials the figure is just 19 percent.

This is where America is heading. If current trends hold up, in the not too distant future less than a fifth of the country will be evangelical Christians.

Also, nearly 3 out of every 4 Millennials in America support gay marriage, and that is the highest percentage by far for any age group.

Of course societal trends can change. And we better hope that they change, because if they don’t a lot of the things that I talk about in my latest book will start happening very quickly.

We are in a battle for the mind, and the average American spends about five hours a day watching television. Virtually all of that “programming” is controlled by just six gigantic media corporations, and they are continuously pushing a worldview that promotes “progressive” values.

The same thing is true for our so-called “education system”. The next generations of Americans are being systematically conditioned to think and feel certain ways, and most parents have no idea what really goes on behind those classroom doors.

So even if we can get our kids to sit in church for an hour each week, how could that possibly compete with the thousands upon thousands of hours of “conditioning” that they are constantly being exposed to the rest of the time?

Much of Europe is already considered to be “post-Christian”, and if something is not done the United States will suffer the same fate.

It won’t happen immediately, but if current trends persist it is just a matter of time before the gay population in this country is larger than the evangelical Christian population.

Political change does not equal spiritual change, and spiritual change is what America desperately needs.

Except that life is cyclical and not linear. While it may be the cool thing for now to say you are LGTBQP–when it fails to get a rise from parents and the trendiness of it wears off, it will be passé and uncool.
As for a decline in evangelicals, I would surmise that the % of those who actually hold core Christian beliefs is much lower than numbers suggest.
Many who say they are “Christian” don’t believe in many of the basic tenets like Christ’s atonement, Christ’s own words about being “the Way, the Truth and The Life” as they believe a person can be “good enough” and almost 70% of self described Christians believe the bible is a book of allegories and metaphors which has grown outdated.
The gate is small and the road is narrow……..

      Indeed.

I’m a straight male & based on experience I think a lot of gay men really aren’t attracted to women. I don’t know if there’s a little attraction to women but likely none at all.

    • eagle

I don’t think they have a choice about who they’re attracted to. Like a normal male is attracted to females but if he loses androgens there’s a huge drop in the attraction over several months with the attraction level toward many females at zero or near zero. However he won’t start liking guys & is still straight & of course a man still wouldn’t want to live alone.

“only 27 percent of them attend religious services on a weekly basis”

Some millennials live with parents who force them to attend church or move out. They can’t move out because no job or no good paying job.

I’m just wondering how many of those millennials are nancy boys just to be trendy, like cutting your jeans at the knees. Cool, eh?

    • If being gay was the perfect creation…God would have created all of us as Gay.

The funny thing is …All these LGBT’s wants to get married in church…lol..when most Christians hate them.

They even have a site trying to claim eunuchs in the Bible were gay. I’m not but I’m also not attracted to most women.

I think most of the percentage rise; if Gallop is to be believed at all, they were so accurate predicting the election outcome, is going to be girls who ‘experiment’ not boys.

I think the stat on percent of gays is wrong.
Gallup says 3.4 with 4.4% not knowing.
The Centers for Disease Control put the number at 2.3%.

    Someone doesn’t understand discrete functions.

The Islamic takeover of Europe and North America will probably force most of the LGBT community back into the closet. The Old Testament based Islamic laws teach that homosexuality is a vile form of fornication, punishable by death. After a few public beheadings are shown on national TV, the LGBT community will cease to exist.

    • Judah

I don’t believe that anyone should be put to death for their lifestyle. Yet, I’m definitely in favor of LGBTs going back in the closet (or seeking therapy). I don’t care what anyone says… no child should have 2 dads or 2 moms. It’s unnatural. The gay/lesbian agenda is out of control and this country could use an overhaul back to morality.

  • Judah

This is all Bible prophecy. There’s nothing new under the sun, so no one should be surprised by the findings in this article. We’ve returned to the days of Noah and Sodom and Gomorrah. Things will never revert to the way they were… Traditional morals and values have sadly gone out the window!

  • The primary reason for this is the enormous cultural shift that is taking place among our young people – NO.

Its because of Chemtrails, BPA, chemicals in food and water. You become gay not because of God but because of Evil.

If God wanted you Gay – He would have created you Gay from the beginning.

All this so called “Shift” is by Design by Satanic Forces.

    • According to the actually many gay Christians, that IS precisely how G-d created them. Not how G-d created you or created me, but how G-d created them. As gay.

  • davidnrobyn

So why is this so surprising? Historically, homosexuality and societal decline have gone hand in hand. Also, the comment of Judah below hits it. We shouldn’t act as though this is something new.

  • Jim Davis

Maybe if the evangelicals weren’t so cucked about Israel they might not be declining so much. Just sayin…

  • The number/percentage of LGBTQI is likely pretty constant throughout history. The numbers FROM SURVEYS are rising, yes. But the total percentage only appears to rise because those formerly-threatened people feel slightly safer “coming out” and saying what they are.

Even in Biblical times gays were present. All throughout ancient Grecian times, LGBTQI were present and were NOT bullied or shamed away; I’d bet that if they held a survey back then the numbers would have been high-ish simply because no one would’ve hidden their sexuality. In WWII there were gays IN THE MILITARY but they couldn’t say it and they for sure wouldn’t have said yes on any survey, no matter how anonymous.

People today who are Trans and Intersexed (the “I” in LGBTQI) have always existed, but would not have KNOWN they even had a condition other than “cuckoo in the head”. Again, these people have always been around, but they are slowly, slowly, slowly realizing they are not as alone as their sexuality makes them think they are. Blame the surveys for the slow increase in LGBTQI percentages, not society.

As for Evangelicals, well, that’s a dying trend to be sure. Sorry. But let them be replaced with SANE versions of Christians instead and be happy.

    • CORRECTION

Intersex are born with messed up chromosomes (not xx or xy) and some know they are because of messed up body parts or parts from both genders &/or features from both genders.

Not having xx or xy is not “cuckoo in the head” but a genetic defect.

As far as their orientation they probably wouldn’t usually be straight or gay because they are neither male nor female. I know one of them I read about is attracted to both genders as far as I remember.

However the xx / xy mix up is very rare.

      • Not having xx or xy is not “cuckoo in the head” but a genetic defect.”

Umm, yeah, NO DUH — that was precisely my point: people in the past were not told that they were crazy, rather than told that they had a not-too-common congenital issue. Today, with the LGBTQI crowd coming further and further out of the closet, we know that these things are n-o-r-m-a-l, and not cause for psychiatric counseling (like in the past).

        Go correct yourself.

“… do not want to accept the fact that more people are choosing to be gay because they want to maintain the narrative that “people are born that way”.”

CHOOSING to be gay???!! Yeah because gay people have it so easy…persecuted for millennia, beaten up and ridiculed, shunned from their own families. Yeah WHO WOULDN’T WANT THAT?!!! SOUNDS GREAT!

If Evangelicals honestly think that being gay is a choice it’s no wonder their numbers are dwindling.

If you’re such a Christian why don’t you put your money where your mouth is and actually talk to some real life gay people, get their stories and see if they “made a choice.”

  • davidnrobyn

It’s dangerous to extrapolate trends. Trees don’t grow to the sky.

  • Tatiana Covington

Clone and be done with it! Actually, let’s face it: human numbers have tripled since 1945 and doubled since 1970. So LGBT helps hold these these numbers down.

    There’s too much heterosexuality!

1 thing I learned during my research in stopping hairloss is some gays want to be fixed probably so their body will feminize.

  • No it isn’t actually.

Also, please do not lean on Natural News for valid scientific or medical information; they are not reputable: https://mediabiasfactcheck. com/natural-news/

Natural News’ rating is as follows: CONSPIRACY-PSEUDOSCIENCE

These sources publish false information that cannot be validated or
are related to pseudoscience. The information on these sites is
speculation that is not supported by evidence. These are the most
    untrustworthy sources in media.

    Factual Reporting: MIXED

Notes: Does publish legit content, but also a lot of Pseudoscience and ridiculous medical claims.

    • 1M

      Didn’t even read the article?!

I bet naturalnews is more factual than what u read: The Washington Post.

It just got that rating because it’s not an MSM site so the establishment hates it. They even took it down for awhile. If its not factual they wouldn’t have took it down.

Yes, he is trying to sell stuff so I don’t believe everything he says when it comes to sales but most seems pretty accurate. Like he’s trying to sell AquaTrue & Berkey but the ppm on those is still high.

As far as gay goes the gay girl at work likes my smooth soft arms lol. But I never said why it’s that way.

So one thing I found out is I can argue with atheists all day on Friendly Atheist about their support of Hillary but here I get blocked right away.

Can’t say much on a Christian site.
      So much for tolerance.

      • Yeah, it is startling how intolerant the Right has become, especially compared to the current “anything goes” Liberals.

When *I* was in *my* late twenties, the parties seemed very switched around compared to what they have become. My party of Reagan used to say they may not like what others say, but that they’d fight to the death to defend their right to say it… now it’s the Left who live by this.

        Sad.

        • 1M

The reason for censorship on here is cause the site owner has a pious mind. It’s not left vs right.
I was raised in a strict Christian home but never got the pious mind. I think it’s mainly the older generation.

    • 1m

Natural News does post articles of how good his Berkey & AquaTru filters are (they’re not that effective). Also he hid the Garden of Life heavy metals data & was against a law punishing companies that outsource. He used to be like an email spammer or something b4 naturalnews. The links r cited (bird & pharma story) but since I got moderated or there was a “bad” word I’ll just forget about it.

This site is not a free place to discuss things.

  • Oh, just found this article today — Marriage equality means fewer teens are dying by suicide: Research suggests that suicide attempts among high school students in the U.S decreased following a change in the marriage laws.

It may explain why more and more people are around to say they are among the LGBTQ crowd: “The legalisation of same-sex marriage in the U.S has been linked to fewer teenagers attempting to take their own lives. Suicide attempts among high school students dropped by 7 percent following the change in marriage laws, according to researchers from John Hopkins University, Harvard and Boston Children’s Hospital.

The study, carried out across 17 years over 47 U.S states, saw the biggest drop among gay, lesbian and bisexual young people, with 14 percent less suicide attempts. It translates to roughly 134,000 fewer teens. As Forbes reports, it’s halfway to the government’s federal goal of reducing teen suicide by 10 percent in 2020. Suicide is the second leading cause of death among 15 to 24-year-olds, according to the U.S. Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, with numbers rising significantly among LGBTQ people.”
