18 Statistics That Prove That The Economy Has Not Improved Since Barack Obama Became President

Has the economy improved since Barack Obama became the president of the United States?  Of course not.  Despite what you may be hearing in the mainstream media, the truth is that when you compare the U.S. economy on the day that Barack Obama was inaugurated to the U.S. economy today, there is really no comparison.  The unemployment crisis is worse than it was then, home values have fallen, the cost of health insurance is up, the cost of gas is way up, the number of Americans living in poverty has soared and the size of our national debt has absolutely exploded.  Anyone that believes that things are better than they were when Barack Obama was elected is simply being delusional.  Yes, things have stabilized somewhat and our economy is not in free fall mode at this point.  But don’t be fooled.  This bubble of false hope will be short-lived.  The problems we are seeing develop in Europe will erupt into another full-fledged global financial crisis and economic conditions in the United States will get even worse.  When that happens, what possible ” economic solutions” will Barack Obama have for us?  We never even came close to recovering from the last great financial crisis, and now something potentially even worse is staring us in the face.  This is not a great time to have a total lack of leadership in Washington.

The following are 18 statistics that prove that the economy has not improved since Barack Obama became the president of the United States….

#1 Today there are 88 million working age Americans that are not employed and that are not looking for employment.  That is an all-time record high.

#2 When Barack Obama was elected, the percentage of unemployed Americans that had been out of work for more than 52 weeks was less than 15%.  Today, it is above 30%.

#3 There are 1.2 million fewer jobs in America today than there were when Barack Obama was inaugurated.

#4 When Barack Obama first took office, the number of “long-term unemployed workers” in the United States was approximately 2.6 million.  Today, that number is sitting at 5.6 million.

#5 The average duration of unemployment in the United States is hovering close to an all-time record high.

#6 During the Obama administration, worker health insurance costs have risen by 23 percent.

#7 Since Barack Obama has been president, the average price of a gallon of gasoline in the United States has increased by 90 percent.

#8 Since Barack Obama has been president, home values in the United States have declined by another 13 percent.

#9 Under Barack Obama, new home sales in the U.S. set a brand new all-time record low in 2009, they set a brand new all-time record low again in 2010, and they set a brand new all-time record low once again during 2011.

#10 Since Barack Obama took office, the number of Americans living in poverty has risen by more than 6 million.

#11 Since Barack Obama entered the White House, the number of Americans on food stamps has increased from 32 million to 46 million.

#12 The amount of money that the federal government gives directly to Americans has increased by 32 percent since Barack Obama entered the White House.

#13 According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the percentage of Americans living in “extreme poverty” is now sitting at an all-time high.

#14 When Barack Obama first took office, an ounce of gold was going for about $850.  Today an ounce of gold costs more than $1700 an ounce.

#15 Since Barack Obama became president, the size of the U.S. national debt has increased by 44 percent.

#16 During Barack Obama’s first two years in office, the U.S. government added more to the U.S. national debt than the first 100 U.S. Congresses combined.

#17 During the Obama administration, the U.S. government has accumulated more debt than it did from the time that George Washington took office to the time that Bill Clinton took office.

#18 The U.S. national debt has been increasing by an average of more than 4 billion dollars per day since the beginning of the Obama administration.

Oh, but Barack Obama is promising that things will be much better very soon.  Barack Obama is pledging that 2 million more jobs will be added to the economy in 2012.

Do you believe him?

Congress certainly seems to think that things will be getting better.  Congress has reduced the maximum amount of time that the unemployed can receive unemployment benefits to 73 weeks.  That change will go into effect later this year.

But there are still millions of very talented Americans that cannot find work after years of looking.

So what are they supposed to do?

A recent Business Insider article featured the story of Helen Hatat, a woman from southern California that has been unemployed since 2009….

She lost her job in public relationships in 2009 after more than 20 years of working in the entertainment industry, the Southern California resident said.

When you don’t have a job, you don’t find a job, and when you don’t have a job, you don’t find a home,” she said.

At first she tried moving into a homeless shelter, but left because they treated her “like garbage.” Eventually she found a friend she could stay with, but this arrangement won’t last forever.

I’ve found you lose most of your friends, you know. If you have money people love you. If you don’t have any money people hate you. They treat you like you are contagious.

As government finances get tight, things are going to get really tough for women like her.

When evaluating the health of the American economy, the key is not to focus on the short-term economic numbers.  Sometimes they go up and sometimes they do down.

Instead, the key is to look at the long-term balance sheet numbers.  When you do that, it quickly becomes apparent how appalling our economic decline has been.

The size of federal government debt is exploding, state and local governments all over the country are drowning in debt, our collective national wealth is decreasing and our ability to produce new wealth is also being reduced as our economic infrastructure is systematically gutted.

Of course all of the blame should not go to Obama.  The truth is that the Federal Reserve has much more power over the economy than Obama does.  But the American people are constantly told that the Federal Reserve is “not political” and that we should not criticize the Fed.

So it is kind of ridiculous that presidents are judged by the performance of the economy.  Yes, Bush, Clinton, Bush and Obama have all greatly contributed to the mess that we are in, but they are not solely responsible for it.

In the end, however, the outcome of the next presidential election will probably be very heavily influenced by how the U.S. economy performs during the rest of 2012.

Sadly, as our economy declines it is bringing out the worst in many Americans.  For example, “sugar daddy” websites are absolutely exploding in popularity.  Young women that are hungry for cash are selling their “services” to sick older men who are willing to finance the lifestyles of these desperate young women in exchange for “companionship”.

The following comes from a recent article in The Independent….

In America’s booming online dating market, few sectors are hotter than so-called “sugar daddy” sites, which help rich men to make “arrangements” with attractive and financially needy younger women. Between them, these specialist sites now account for 10 percent of the entire industry. That’s no small beans, given that in the US the online dating business now generates profits estimated at $700m ($442m) per year and, according to the polling firm GlobeSpan, has helped just over one in five Americans to find their life partner.

As the economy gets even worse, millions upon millions of Americans are going to become extremely desperate and will do things for money that they never dreamed that they would do.

That is a very frightening thing.

America is changing, and not for the better.

You better get ready for what is ahead, because Barack Obama is not going to save you.

    Socioeconomic Affirmative Action:

During Obama’s second term, when he has nothing to loose, a second new deal is being talked about in the OFA (Obama For America) meetings we have monthly.

Part of it would consist of a socioeconomic affirmative action program funded by a 5% tax on incomes over 5 million per year and also include this tax on capital gains above a yet to be determined amount. (which are simply income anyway)

This would allow the government to level the playing field and make capitalism more fair to everyone and not just the rich who currently are the main beneficiaries. If socialism is good enough for the rich then it is good enough for the rest of us.

It would advantage the poor over the rich in order to facilitate a more equal opportunity society for all, similar to the Scandinavian countries (who beat the USA in almost every category from % of population in poverty to better healthcare outcomes etc.) Google this for yourself to see I am correct.

We have a member from Denmark who sited a study that if the economic systems in the USA and Sweden are described to people without telling the name of a country the economic system of Sweden beats the USA something like 90% choosing Sweden economic (more socialism) and only 10% choosing the USA (less socialism unless you are rich or a corporation)

Before some dolt tells me to move-this is my country also and we are taking it back from the right wing nuts who drove us into a ditch.

When the right is asked will you take 10 in cuts for every 1 in tax increase they all said no. Their patron saint (my rep) Paul 1% Ryan road map to poverty plan also increases the debt/deficit so do not talk about the debt as a problem.

With a second new deal we will increase demand and grow our way out of the debt issue by putting dollars into the hands of people who will spend it namely the working poor.

Tax the greedy to help the needy!!!

    • mark

Maybe Obama has nothing to lose, but we sure do, it is called our country. What position in the police state do you hope to gain as you Obamaites put the boot on the throat of the country. Don’t forget that your comrade Stalin had a term for you OFAers, useful idiots. People might like some of the benefits over in Sweden, until they get the bill for all of the taxes. I would prefer to sink or swim on my own accord as freedom sounds a lot better to me. Let’s hear one for the Founding Fathers!

      • Gary2

I do not think the swedes think of themselves as unfree. They look at us as unfree as we have to depend on employment for healthcare and frequently stay in jobs we hate just for insurance. Does not sound too free to me.

In the study taxes and amounts paid in each country were a part and again overwhelmingly folks choose the Swedish model.

I look at us as saving what is left of our country from the conservatives who are bent on destroying any part of middle class. All the repubes care about is the rich.

        • xander cross

@ Gary. It turns out that Ron Paul is secretly been working with Mitt Romney the whole entire time for a VP position.

          • Blanco

Actually xander.. that has already been debunked as a complete fabrication….

Sorry, charlie. What you think you have to lose has already been lost…………..That’s a wrap baby!

A “new” New Deal huh? Seeing as how everyone not of a wall street pedigree will either be dead from predator drone attacks or locked away forever in amerikan gitmo style dungeons without charge or trial under the NDAA and its older brother the Patriot Act, who will be around to complain much less collect from the benefits of Obomber’s new banker bailout deal besides GOLDMAN SACHS, BANK OF AMERIKA AND JP MORGAN CHASE?

    • W

Curious posts. You do realize we haven’t been a capitalist country for many decades, yes? You really have to go back to pre – Wilsonian days. The United States has been the victim of creeping socialism and federal micromanagement that has caused most of today’s problems. Oh, and as to your Canadian study – you do realize it was based on people in the UK, right? You see, conservatives in the UK are just right of center, and they govern in unison with those just left of center. They are akin to what you’d call a centrist democrat in this country. They are to the right of you, yet way left to what is considered conservative in the US. Nice try.

  • knightowl77

Times they are a changin….just what you get vote for hope and change

    Vote Ron Paul

    • xander cross

That is the problem in the first place. Voting. Ron Paul knowws he will not win, he is just taking all of that money bomb money and laughing it all to the bank. Funny, you are against one politican (obama) and yet, you support one (paul) who supports big government and states right? Never understood how you all support BIG STATE GOVERNMENT.

      • knightowl77

I support a very limited Fed Gov’t as the Constitution states…Powers not granted to the Fed (and they’re not many) are reserved to the states and to the people….

States can get as big or as small as their citizens desire…If you don’t like what a state is doing you are free to move to another state, like when I moved from the “peoples republik of kalifornia”…

If you don’t like voting, don’t.

      • TK

        Xander Cross,

Please refrain from speaking about matters that you know nothing about.

You stated that “you support one (paul) who supports big government and states right?”

Ron Paul does not support big government, as a matter of fact, he is the only candidate running for President that wants to eliminate 1 trillion from the budget his 1st year. Sounds like Ron Paul is a supporter of small government.

        Knight Owl,

It is obvious that you are smarter than the average sheep in America, I salute you sir.

        • xander cross

@ TK Yes he does. He has close ties with Romney and he supports states rights. Also, he seems to like to use tax payer money to pay for his flights.

          • Rob

You’re right, Xander. We will take your word for everything you say. We will not look the information up because we don’t need to verify.

          • TK

Any chance you have proof of this? Just a little bit of proof?

      • Gary2

remember the Canadian study proving conservatives are not as smart as the average person. You can’t make sense of what they babble.

We call the conservatives in the OFA meetings cognitive dissidence on steroids and we are being nice in that name. There are more Michael would not let through.

        • Scott

I like what those smart progressive socialists are doing to places like Europe/Greece. Their brilliance is just amazing.

    #8 Not in Colorado

    • A Dodgy Bloke

It depends on where you are in Colorado in Aurora home values have dropped. In Denver it’s a mixed bag Capital Hill and Cherry Creek home values have stayed solid or went up. In North East, and North Denver Home values have dropped like a bomb. I’m not sure about the rest of the state, or the Eastern and Southern Suburbs in Denver Metro it a mixed bag.

  • DaytoDay

I remember 2-3 years into the wars (02-03), many of the middle school teachers were having heated discussions on how insane the National Debt was (Around 5 trillion at the time)…

I wonder if they’ve since had any heart attacks?

I mean, people have laughed and mocked me since 2009, and sadly, the majority aren’t laughing anymore… Guess it (The economy) finally affected their livelihood…

” Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God” John 3:3

  • Kevin

This thing was collapsing and falling on whatever administration was in office at the time. Reversing it is out of the question at this point. The best that can be hoped for is to dampen the fall.

For all practical purposes there would be no difference if John McCain was President. This thing was decades in the making.

  • mark

As the Republicans running for president continue to tear each other up, Obama continues to take this country over a cliff. The fall will be very painful and I really do not know where the bottom will be. The voters will not elect a Congress and President that would make the kind of cuts in spending and regulations our economy needs to improve over the long term. My advice would be to prepare yourself for the hard times coming so that you don’t have to ask the government for a handout. At the rate that Obama is sinking us deeper along with the Federal Reserve into debt those handouts might not be there in the future.

    • TK

      Excellent Point Mark,

I do not trust the American people to wake up in time, preparation is a very good plan.

Don’t blame me, I didn’t vote for Obomber in 2008 and will not do so in 2012 either.

What do you get when you mix the following toxic ingredients:

asylum states president barack obomber +

teabagger asylum state house of representatives +

rightwing democrat asylum states senate =

    amerika’s speedy and climatic demise………….

Any humanoid with two working brain cells would have seen this coming………………..

  • ScoutMotto

I’m surprised someone hasn’t said yet that it’s all Bush’s fault.

Well, that would be a stretch, but keep in mind Cheney-Bush are not blameless here. They are two monsters who did their share of damage to amerika and the world. It’s just that they don’t deserve ALL THE BLAME…………..

  • Colin

In the report, I see you mentioning the President and the Federal Reserve. What role does the Congress serve in your opinion in this mess? For me, I think if we had a Congress that was willing to work with the President, and was willing to serve the needs of the people above party and ideology, that our country might find itself in a different situation.

    • Michael

Congress has played a significant role as well. I should have put something in there about them too.

Why, you can’t go blaming the teabagger House of Representatives! Republicans taking responsibility for the scorched earth policy, death and destruction that they have created, why never! As the republican wing of the war party they never take responsibility for their actions. Can’t go blaming amerika for its self inflicted wounds now…………….

        • It seems that you need to get your head out of the bag and take a look at what is happening ! thethe Dems have been over 30 years and no matter what good ideas that came up from the Republicans it was considered trash ! for Example, look at what Harry Reid has done in Las Vegas ! He has established a power company ahd hired 1,500 people at a cost of 16 million per person. {That is not peanuts but complete Graft & Colusion ! Then he hired Nancy’s brother to run the thing ! And there is nothing wrong with that ?

  • Proftel

There is no room for “New Deal”, the factories were exported.

U.S. can not send people into space without the aid of Russia, can not survive without Chinese chips.

The solution is to put a colt at the waist, define a property, raise cattle, or pick up a hoe and plant as was done in principle.

    Damn globalization.

    • DaytoDay

The U.S. ended their space program in 2010… So, it’s up to the Russians and the Chinese now…

  • TeaPartyDave

@Gary2, the problem with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of someone else’s money. Ask the Scandinavians what their tax rate is – the ones that actually pay taxes, that is. Demand-side (Keynesian) economics is a hoax and has never worked. When you take money out of the hands of the people who are producing and give it to those that are not, you cannot expect prosperity for all. It will be more like shared misery.
Reduce the influence of government on Americans by eliminating overly burdensome regulations and unelected bureaucratic agencies, implement a tax structure that ensures everyone pays taxes at the same rate(currently about 48% of Americans do not pay Federal income tax) and watch what we can do.
This country’s current problems have indeed been building for many years, even decades, but they have been magnified by socialist-style policies brought about by elected (and appointed) Democrats.

    • Gary2

you are 100% wrong. The truth is opposite than what you said.

    • Gary2

we have tried what you said for the last 30 years and it has failed. All you do is parrot Rush. Over regulation ha. tell that to the folks in the gulf coast or the people screwed by wall street. We have under-regulation not over regulation.

      • Scott

Nonsense. Because of over regulation, Gulf drilling is confined to more dangerous deep water drilling instead of safer shallow water drilling.

        • Kevin

Energy costs must remain high so less is used in the US so more is available for global expansion.

Everything has a reason and most often the real reason is not what is said.

Look at everything from this perspective, “Does it facilitate globalism”? You will find that is common to every move the government makes. The “official” explanations are hogwash.

          • Scott

We have 2 trillion barrels of shale oil in the Western United States, most of that can eventually be recovered as technologies emerge. Plenty of oil available until alternate fuels are perfected, no reason we should have to pay high prices. Our governent is more intersted in needlessly propping up its green agenda using high gas prices as an excuse, at the expense of the working glass.

      • Kevin

The question is what is over regulation? I think any prudent person would agree that abandoning Glass-Stegall was not good for the economy in the long term because speculation replaced long term logic as the strategy of investment. Worst of all it allowed it to be done with other peoples money by the unholy merger of commercial and investment banks putting the fox in charge of the chicken coop. Worse yet the pump and dump scheme was financial backed by the US taxpayer when it failed. Even worse any meaningful re-regulation has yet to be forthcoming despite promises to the contrary.

        • Scott

Abandoning Glass-Stegall actually prevented the last crises from being even worse than it was by allowing banks to absorb much of the bad debs. So Glass-Stegall had little to do with the banking crises, the bigger cause was risky bank loans mandated by the community reinvestment act.

      • ChewyRudy

I choose to dress myself each day; and to eat peanut butter sandwiches, with jelly. I have to spread the peanut butter and jelly on the bread myself, using a utensil. No one does it for me. But if someone would, I could stay on the couch and keep clicking the changer.

      • MisterC

Gary2, What have you been smoking? Over-regulation=facism. Why do you think a lot of businesses have left the country. BTW, where does the gov’t supposedly get the authority to regulate how much water my toilet uses per flush?

      Warfare State

      Police State

      Welfare State

From an educational and historical perspective, where on earth have you been since the late 1880s? Why is it that you rightwingers think that amerikan history began 20 Jan 2009 when Obomber took office? Amerika has been a socialist nation since the asylum states supreme court declared corporations as persons. Tell you what guy, give up all claims to unemployment insurance, food stamps, Social security, medicare and medicaid and any other gov’t programs (including tax breaks for business, etc.) for yourself, family, and friends and then we can talk about ending socialism……….

      • Mike P

        Quote from Reed Richards…
“Amerika has been a socialist nation since the asylum states supreme court declared corporations as persons.”

Everyone listen to this man!! He knows the real truth!!

  • mondobeyondo

Happy President’s Day, Mr. Obama! We know you won’t be thinking much about Washington or Jefferson or any of your other predecessors. It’s all about you (you narcissistic idiot)… ha! It wouldn’t surprise me at all to see him step up to the podium and say “I am the greatest”! (hey, stop stealing Muhammad Ali’s lines!)

Seriously – he’s going to claim that the unemployment rate has fallen during his term. Not necessarily so. It’s fallen because many people have given up looking for work, so they aren’t counted in the statistics.

We’ll know by December if Obama was telling the truth about adding 2 million more jobs in 2012. Just like he promised to close Guantanamo Bay. Time will tell…

    • mondobeyondo

Actually, I don’t think Obama would mind having his image on all U.S. coins and currency. Is it true that Queen Elizabeth’s portrait is on all U.K. coins and currency?

      • whoisbiggles

Yes it is, as well as on many other countires currencies Australia, New Zealand, etc.

Most of these coins are worthless except my 1oz silver coins from the Perth mint. ;P

      • Just Me

Yes, I have a friend from Scotland who sent me money once. The Queen is also on their stamps although I dont know if it is all of them.

      • ChewyRudy

        MondoBeyondo for President!!!

        • Michael

Now that is change that I could believe in. :)

    • BenjiK

“It wouldn’t surprise me at all to see him step up to the podium and say “I am the greatest”!”

Never fear Mondo, that time is fast approaching, considering he’s the self-proclaimed 4th best president in American history after only 3 years in office.

I have a feeling IF he wins a second-term his victory speech will go something like this:

  • A Dodgy Bloke

I know this is off topic but there is post about Iceland I thought might be of interest. We can fight the Banks Iceland has lead the way. There is post on Japan some of the bulbs out there keeping track of the coming storm may want to take a gander at.

  • Cinderella Man

Americans have been smoking the hopium for almost 4 years now, and look at where we are at. We have a government that is telling us fairy tales about a 8.3% unemployment rate, 1.5 million kids living in cars and culverts, gas prices going through the roof, high foreclosures, the Fed Reserve lying about inflation saying its only around 2%, when are Americans going to awake out of their drug and fluoride induced hazes and realize that we are really screwed!! The low inflation is what really gets me they take out food and gas prices the costs that matter the most to working poor familes, and tell us its all hunky dory and hope and change is here to stay. Sorry Gary2 but the gravy train with biscuit wheels is about to come to a screeching halt. Didnt you see my post the other day about how Earned Income Credit is about to be dramtically reduced? The poor’s low tax bracket of 10% is going up? No buddy when Barry gets re-elected you can count on just the opposite of what you think is going to happen. Taxes will be going up dramatically for everyone. He will have nothing to lose then he can break all the promises he made to all the dupes that voted for him! As for the sugar daddies, who cares? Prostitution is the oldest trade in history and the govt. doesent need to legislate morality to us! Im a true libertarian that believes that people should be able to do whatever they want as long as they dont hurt someone else. As soon as you violate someones life or property then its a crime. I mean a guy ends up paying for sex one way or another whether its buying drinks, dinner or necklaces the guy is paying for it! I my opinon I think its better to skip all the foreplay and get right down to it. At least you dont have to deal with all the baggage the chick has and you both get what you want. Sorry if I offened anyone but I really dont see nothing wrong with it just more of the signs of our times!

    • Gary2

I agree prostitution should be legal. So should drugs

      • MisterC

Gary2,Not the drugs you are on.

  • xander cross

So, since you all against Obama, so are you all voting for Mitt Romney, Santorum, Gingrich? Paul is not going to get the GOP nomination, why? because he is in on the fix. This guy is just laughing to the bank. Paul and alex jones that is.

    • mondobeyondo

If Ron Paul doesn’t get the GOP nomination, it won’t be because he’s in on the fix. It will be because he’s OUT of the fix!

    • knightowl77

I am so happy that you are pleased with the Obummer and his results

      • xander cross

Who said I am pleased with Obama? Maybe you like Santorum.

    • TK

Ron Paul is the only candidate to reject his congressional retirement. He gave it back to us, the tax payers. Google Ron Paul

      • xander cross

I did google Ron Paul and found his racist newsletters that he wrote for many years and I like how he is against black people being on food stamps but not whites. Interesting and when one ask Ron Paul about this, he just walks away, like he did on the CNN inverview. Interesting.

  • xander cross

Remember the golden rule. He who controls the gold makes the rules. This is for all of the ron paul supporters

    • TK

Ron Paul is the only candidate who never voted for a tax increase, or an unbalanced budget.

Never, not even once in his 20 years of service.

Ron Paul is the only Veteran running for President.

      • xander cross

You sure about that? So, that is why he been in congress for decades using tax payer money for flights, but yet, he is against the federal government but he works for them? The guy says all the time he is a republican, while he taking all of that moneybomb money to this coffers and of course, giving alex jones his cut.

  • Nancy Black

The only man that is running for Pres. that knows what has happened to our country & is willing to do what is necessary to keep us from going over the cliff that our poor excuse for a Pres. is taking our country over is RON PAUL.
Vote & work for the man that has the voting record of a real patriot. He has never voted for a law that was unconstitutional.

    • TK

Amen Nancy Black! I see that you are smarter than the average American. I salute you!

Have you seen this video about Santorum?

    • xander cross

Oh, but somehow, he is trying to become Romney VP. He also works with Romney, so what exactly is going on here?

  • El Pollo de Oro

No, the economy is not getting better in The Banana Republic of America (formerly the USA), and it isn’t going to. It won’t improve under Barack “Goldman Sachs” Obama, and it won’t improve under Romney, Gingrich or Santorum. Ron Paul has the right idea—abolish the federal reserve, end the War on Drugs, stop with the imperialist empire building, abolish the unconstitutional Patriot Act—but no way is he going to get the GOP nomination. It won’t happen because truth be told, most Republican politicians (contrary to what they claim) believe in very big, fat, bloated, intrusive government—and Ron Paul has a long history of voting no on GOP pork barrel projects. So most Republicans and neocons resent him deeply. The hatred that looney Santorum feels for Ron Paul and other libertarians is evident.

There will never be a balanced budget under Romney, Gingrich or Santorum because the things they want to do cost a lot of money. The War on Drugs, federal obscenity prosecutions, corporate welfare and imperialist warmongering carry a heavy pricetag.

Sadly, the fact is that the BRA is now a Third World hellhole and will only sink deeper and deeper into the abyss economically. That’s the grim future for the BRA: high unemployment, low-paying service jobs, shantytown slums, widespread desperation, a crappy infrastructure, sky-high federal deficits, violent crime galore. Like other banana republics, the BRA will have all the poverty, violence and instability that Third World hellholes are known for having. Things will only get worse for the BRA…….and worse, and worse.

Welcome to the collapse of the Roman Empire. There will be no happy ending for The Banana Republic of America, horror movie of the Third World.

don’t forget the DPDDTT! You explain this way better than I can.

      • El Pollo de Oro

Ah, yes, the infamous Desperate People Doing Desperate Things Tax, which is alive and well in Guatemala, Venezuela, El Salvador, Jamaica, Honduras and Papua New Guinea and is coming soon to the BRA. One way to spot a DPDDTT victim is a missing finger–kidnapper gangs in Third World countries are very good at removing a kidnappee’s finger in order to show that they mean business and speed up the ransom collection process. And when a DPDDTT collector needs in a new car, there’s always carjacking.

The Desperate People Doing Desperate Things Tax, coming soon to a Philadelphia or a Chicago near you.

        • xander cross

I would not want to live in NYC when the DPDDTT kicks in.

          • El Pollo de Oro

Xander Cross: All the gentrification in the world will not save NYC from the DPDDTT. Matter of fact, all the hyper-gentrification in NYC means that there will be a lot more affluent people to kidnap. So when the DPDDTT rears its ugly head, all those well-healed folks in Tribeca, Soho, Park Slope, Chelsea and Brooklyn Heights will need 24-hour bodyguard protection just as the affluent need 24-hour bodyguard protection in Bogotá, Caracas, Sao Paolo, Mexico City and Lima. I always laugh my head off when some businessman who earns seven figures complains that the NYPD are overpaid–my response to that is, “Pal, you had better pray to God that the cops make a decent living because when the DPDDTT comes a knockin’, you’re going to need them and need them badly.”

        • Gary2

So to sum up the DPDDTT:

The harder it is for people to make money honestly, the easier it will be for an increasingly large portion to chose to make it dishonestly.

          • El Pollo de Oro

Gary2 in Wisconsin: Yes, that’s it in a nutshell. When desperate people in Third World hellholes find that it becomes harder and harder to earn an honest living, they weigh their options and decide to earn a dishonest living. For example, many campesinos in Southern Mexico who lost their livelihood thanks to NAFTA created new revenue streams via kidnapping, drug trafficking, carjacking and violent home invasions. They didn’t start out as career criminals, but they certainly ended up as career criminals.

I hate to see so many Americans without a job. A few years ago I did not know anybody that was on unemployment… Today I personally know 6 in my immediate circle of friends and family. THAT is just sad. These are NOT lazy, or uneducated people. These are all people that have send out hundreds of resumes to which most have not received even a courtesy reply. My daughter just got tired of it and started her own small business. Perhaps that would be right for you or someone you know too. Check it our at http://www.srcareers.com. It’s so nice to see her smile again, now that she is on the way to success.

  • Cinderella Man

Xander, you have no idea what youre talking about. Ron Paul will not get the nomination because there are too many people dependent on the govt. to live these days. The fix is in on him. Romney can steal Maine and nothing happens. Ive given up hope that Ron will win even though I admire and respect the man and would love to see him win but I live in reality and know there are too many people like you and Gary2 in this country that love their handouts and big govt. to tell them when to wipe their ass and hold their hand through life and will never vote for a man of REAL HOPE and REAL CHANGE!

    • xander cross

Handouts? I don’t receive government handouts. Also, Paul is indeed on the fix simply because he knows he will not win and that he is collecting all of the moneybomb money to be deposited in his bank account. You worship Ron Paul simply because he is indeed a racist.

  • TK

America, this is all our fault. If there were more God Fearing Real Christians, Obama would have never been elected (along with that crummy congress).

Yup, America has become infatuated with sin, self, and immorality.

    • xander cross

God fearing? You mean this nation of christians that kill anyone that disagrees with them? You mean a nation that was founded on slavery and killing of blacks? Yet, you say this is a God fearing nation?

      • Gary2

they always leave out that part. Same when they go on about the good ole’ days

      • TK

xander, Real God fearing men would never kill anyone (especially a racially motivated killing).
I never said this was a God Fearing Nation, as a matter of fact, I believe Obama when he says that we are not a Christian Nation!

        • xander cross

@TK. Real God fearing men kill anyone who dares to worship a god that is different from them especially in states like Iowa and Missorri. In the country areas of many states, extreme christians attack anyone that is different from them, especially black people. This is the problem with a lot of christains, they don’t read the bible, only the feel good parts.

        • xander cross

@TK Paul has to know he has no chance of winning. If Rommney could get Pauls supporters, He’d almost be a shoe in.

So Pauls a sell out. My my my…

When laws are made-up and passed to protect “privilege,” more and more people disrespect the law because things get out of hand. There are many on this site that hate the current president. Why? They are certain he is going to allow to happen to them the same things they did or allowed to happen to “others.” The more you embrace injustice for your own success, the worse things will get. Look inside yourself and try to become a better individual. We either rebuild this country with opportunity for all – not just some – or we will continue to sink. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. It takes strength of character from everyone to be a strong and successful country FOR everyone. Moneygreen is now the color of privilege. If you are moneygreen, continue down your path and you will be just fine. If you are any other color, you had better start helping to unite “we the people.” If you want to take this country back, find a brain – you never had it in the first place… so try helping to take this country forward. Repeating mistakes until they work is a very bad plan.

  • Sky High Prices

I don’t need statistics to tell me that my grocery bill is twice as much as it was a few years ago, and it costs almost a day’s pay to fill up the gas tank.

The cost of basic goods such as TP and cereal have doubled and almost tripled.

  • i’vegivenup

Simply put this country is screwed to the wall and will not escape collapse regardless of the president. The final tipping point(s)will be another war in the Middle East…a terrorist attack on our own soil..or defaults in the EU. Choose your poison but know for sure..one (or all) will happen….

I just read through the 18 statistics that prove the economy has NOT improved since Barack Obama/aka Barry Soetoro [born in Kenya] was elected President of the USA.

Thanks for outlining those points. I’m hoping that you might also have the sources and documentation to back up those totally valid statistics. I’d like to forward all those 18 statistics to as many major news anchors and media sources as possible,…AND, to all of the Republican candidates for President, so they can use this invaluable information and documentation to DEFEAT Obama in the next election.

I also have what I consider to be strong proof that Obama/Soetoro was born in Kenya, based on about three years of in-depth research. Naval Commander Fitzgerald and Lt. Col. Terry Lakin both accused Obama of nothing less than ‘High Treason’,…and refused to follow their fraudulent Commander in Chief’s directives, for VERY good reason. Obama is a total fraud, and his ‘co-conspirators’ have to be more than a few in number. This is the biggest fraud ever perpetrated on America, and is also clearly being supported by much of the mainstream media.

So, like you, I want to see Obama/Soetoro exposed for who he really is,..and, for his crime of high treason, he will hopefully be imprisoned for life, along with his many ‘co-conspirators’.

Is it possible that you could send me the documentation and sources that back up your 18 statistics. If so, I’ll forward all of that to as many sources as possible, who can help stop the fraud and treason of Barack Obama. Thank you for your wonderful website, and for helping me…and all Americans…..in this critical effort.

    Best Regards,…Terry Reynolds

you like those numbers wait till you see the numbers of elderly needing assistance because of long term or even short term zero interest rate policy and fear of losing savings to gambling in markets controled by manipulators.

  • DaveInIowa

Interestingly, the author and every comment do not mention the DOW is up 50% since Big O took office. (The 1%’ers are enjoying life tremendously.)I also saw another story how gun/ammo manufacturers are enjoying record sales. (Due to all the misplaced hysteria about seizing our guns.) News story today lists out that every Republican candidate’s budget plan would at least double our debt in the next 10 years compared to if NOTHING is done as it is today.
Yes, the 18 stats are real and yes, Obama is on watch. If any of you think that a Republican would have done better, than you are a fool and and I truly hope we never find out.
For those of you too young or forgetfull check out this link:
It shows the Party in power from ’45 to present.
Now tellme, can you really say you are better off from when the Republicans started making Congressional/Presidential gains?

[Jennifer Aniston takes the stage at the Oscars]

I’m pleased to announce the nominees for Craziest Person in America for 2012!

    The nominees are:

Lindsay Lohan, for her role as co-star with Jamie Lee Curtis in “Freaky Friday”, among many other roles.
Barack H. Obama, for his role as current United States President.
Charlie Sheen, for his former role in “Two and a Half Men”.
Nancy Pelosi, for her role as former Speaker of the House of Representatives.
And Charles Manson, for his role in an infamous 1969 murder spree.

And the Oscar goes toooo…. [ripping envelope]

Charlie Sheen, for “Two and a Half Men”!!

(A stunning upset! Most everyone thought it would be Obama!)

[Announcer voiceover:] This is Sheen’s first Oscar. A major disappointment for Obama, who’s now been nominated twice. And for the 42nd straight year, Manson has failed to pick up an Oscar in this category.

  • Don’t hold your breath thinking the media will report this stuff. They’ve long ago forsaken real journalism, and now view themselves as elite policymakers. They are just as corrupt as the politicians they cover. And they’re not content to have 80% of the audience – they want to silence web sites like this one also, so that there are no dissenting voices. The truth will eventually rise up and crush them, but we have to be vigilant.
